I just cannot believe how long it has been since the last time I have posted here! So much has happened since then and I am pretty sure the same has happened to you as well.

Last time I was very much pregnant with my first baby (I have 2, now) and let me tell you: that was a hard one! It felt like my body was fighting a strange body. My daughter was born prematurely and had to stay in the NICU for what seemed like forever. I was heartbroken. Doing kangaroo care on a daily basis was very comforting, though. She is 6 years old now (can you believe it?!) and healthy as can be.

By the time she was almost 3 and I thought I was done (even though I did want a boy), lo and behold: I find myself pregnant again. Thtime was so much more different, though. I guess my body had grown used to producing babies at that point. Lol

I couldn’t be happier. I could definitely use some sleep 😋 but being a parent is amazing! Just look at them at their favorite bbq joint. True little Southerners.

I’m also back in business. I don’t sell knitted and crocheted accessories anymore. I now make jewelry and beads. I want to take pottery lessons at some point because ceramic beads are so yummy!

I went to Real Estate school but decided it was not for me.

There's just so much to do and my belly grows bigger each passing day! There are so many things happening now: I've finally got my America driver's license, yay!! It was a day after my birthday and I consider it a birthday gift from my Dad up there. Husband's been slacking on getting his stuff out of his former office and nursery-to-be. It pisses me off because I've offered to help but he refuses it. The damn room looks like one of those crowded rooms you would see in an episode of that Hoarders show. Talking about that, My studio is getting better organized slowly but surely. I'll be posting pictures soon.
In other news, I'm in the process of permanently deleting my Etsy accounts and shops. I'm fed up with their crap (we'll see how it goes). I'll be selling on Artfire and other marketplaces.

Yes, there is. Chaotic, but there is. I do not know what compels me to show these pics but I feel like doing it and that's what matters. I've been sorting out things (there are small things everywhere!!!). Not looking any different from yesterday when I started but I have faith in me. lol Besides, this baby in my belly has been keeping mommy from getting into the anxious mode pretty darn well (thank you, beloved daughter!). So, my studio went from this (those pics are from when I was just starting to bring things in after painting the room) to this:

I hate those curtains and I do not know what I was thinking when I bought them. To Goodwill they must go!

Oh and remember my naked dolls? Look at them now, all dressed up and loved! They don't even look like they've come from thrift stores (well black Barbie and stewardess Barbie are brand new), right? Awesome!

Men should think twice about getting plastic surgery done. I, personally, think men should age naturally because, let's face it, the beauty they have to deal with are not even as high as they are for us, ladies. Very unfair sh*t. Funny thing is when you think about the animal kingdom where males are the beautiful ones while females look "eeh" at best (just think about chickens and roosters, lions and lionesses...etc).

Anyways, to illustrate a bit what I'm talking about and to bring some amusement to this post, here are some male celebrities that look like b*tches or just plain freaks now.

For those of you whom might not know what GAD stands for, it is General Anxiety Disorder.

Ok, being without my med for like, what? 3 days now? Is really messing me up. I am not even worried about anything right now; At least not consciously. My muscles ache, I'm agitated, irritable and bitchy (poor husband, having to put up with my crap) and the rashes are driving me crazy! Not to mention that I'm super blue right now and really aching for either a drink or a cigarette (or both!). But no, it's not going to happen! This shit is not going to get the best of me!

The whole thing is that dumb me only set an appointment with the shrink close to the end of the prescription and... anyways, I'm thinking about confronting that doc about his choice to put me on meds from the start instead of trying Cognitive behavioral therapy. Effing doctors!

It feels like I could have written Men at Work's "Overkill" song myself.

I was thrilled to find this big batch of cookie cutters (I know, silly!). Christmas, Easter... When it comes the time for the kid and I to start making cookies, I think we are pretty much covered.

Amy from Life on Willowdale blog has this great tutorial on how to make a romper/sleeper from a used t-shirt for your baby that I think is great. Super easy to make and her kiddo seems to love. I have a bunch of hubbies shirts that I've been separating for donation that I will go through and fish out some to make rompers for Selah. Tell me what you all think.

Today I am mourning the death of over 500 people, from babies to elders in the 3 mountain towns of Nova Friburgo, Teresópolis and Petrópolis. All located in Rio de Janeiro. These people were killed by mudslides and rocks that were moved by heavy rainfalls and even flooded rivers , burring some alive while in their sleep, carrying houses and cars away and God knows what else.

My heart goes out for those who have lost (almost) everything: family, friends, their homes, their pets, their businesses... I say almost because they still have their lives. My heart is broken. I have two friends living up there that I'm still yet to hear from ever since this nightmare happened.

I pray that they recover soon.

Milton Nascimento - Hoje é dia de el Rey.

I finally know what my little baby's sex is. We are having a little girl! Selah Marie Kellman is her name. I have to be honest, I've been and was waiting for this little boy I'll be naming Orion Alexander (I'm am crazy about Greek Mythology and Astronomy) but God in his infinite wisdom, has chosen to send us a girl. I'm still thrilled with the news.

And as time passes and things happen, I cannot help but think about my ancestors, my friends, my beloved land. My loved ones that have already departed.

Going through the gestational diabetes process, I can understand a whole lot more grandma Madalena. The condition that, at the end, took her life. I miss her so much... Her green little eyes... Singing hymns with her... Her hands, her laugh, her wavy silver hair. Her delicious cooking. She was the pillar of our family. A praying warrior. She's left us close to the 1997's Christmas. I was 17.

I miss grandma Benaia, too. She's alive and well but I haven't seen her in so long. Familiar misunderstands, you know. Grandma Benaia is my dad's mom and the one that first tried to teach me how to use the sewing machine. Didn't work. I was too young and the sewing machine, defective. lol

I have this picture of them in my 2 year old birthday. That little thing looking so curiously at the cake is me and that preteen girl wearing a blue ribbon in her hair is one of my many cousins, Sandra or Sandrinha.

Here both grandma Benaia (far left) and grandma Madalena (right) help me cut the cake.

I love the "what's-going-on" expression in my face on this pic. Mom says I was just taking a nap before some of the family members got to our house to celebrate my birthday. I miss you too, mom.

So it turns out all my worrying was in vain. Went to see my OBGYN, he performed the ultrasound and the baby is in great shape.No sign of sugar in my pee pee either which was great to hear!
The little thing was punching (literally) and was just doing his thing. It was SUCH a relief! He was measuring 8.9 cm yesterday. I really don't know why I was so worried but seeing the baby made all the difference. Now I am just taking it easy. Been back crocheting and it feels good again. I'm off now. Ya'll have a super great day!

Ok, since yesterday was kind of a rocky day for me and I have been worrying about the baby because I started eating smaller portions at meal time because of the GD and such. I was feeling so week my husband took me to the ER. Everything was fine, they said, and my glucose was at 120. Still, until I get an ultrasound done and see the little one moving and doing his little dance, I won't have peace. Mama says I've been feeling weak because I'm used to eating as much as a peon and now I have to eat like a bird. lol Whatever, Ma! You're probably right.

I didn't post the Tuesday pattern and for that, I apologize. Here it is, along with the daily one and a little bonus. I hope you'll enjoy! XOXO

Hello everybody! I hope you all had a great Christmas! I know I did. Talked over the phone with some family members I didn't speak to in ages. Didn't cook a traditional Holiday meal. I've found out not to long ago I have gestational diabetes so cooking and thinking about food have been raising my anxiety bar a little bit. I did crave pasta and meat sauce so I bought some lean meat and whole grain pasta. Boy, was that good!

Today I'm actually feeling like going back to working on my knitting and crochet. Didn't start anything yet, though. I'll play it by ear like hubby says. Now it's Goodies Sharing time!!
