Y O R K .

Oh lordy lordy. Where the hell do I start???

New York was absolutely exhilarating!! The mile high buildings, the gallons of culture and the rough edges that came with staying down town were all spectacular!

Every single inch of New York was a beautiful painting to me so I really went overboard with the photos (as per usual), so I am sincerely sorry if it took you a million years to scroll to the bottom.

Let me tell you about part one of my New York adventures.

After spending 15 hours at an airport (gahh) we finally arrived in the beautiful chilly city that we thought never sleeps. Apparently they do, Nina and I stepped out at four in the morning because we were hungry and could only find Macca's but we did stumble accross Madison square gardens on the way there and we almost got hustled and shot on the way home. Take the good with the bad I say!

We found a truckload of bargains along our stay which certainly made us smile. A land and sea tour of the city as well as seeing the Lion King on Broadway (photos soon I promise) were my two most favorite experiences in New York.

It is definitely a city that I will return to, hopefully in the very near future.

Have a happy day x

Hawaii Hiatus.

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Tue, 13 Mar 2012 08:39:00 +0000

First of all, I am extremely apologetic for being a lazy blogger over the last month. Let me explain - I have been errywhere over the last three weeks and I have been having such a ball that I haven't really had the chance to sit down and update my posts.

But I am back!! I have been in Hawaii and New York and now I have finally settled down in LA for the next few months. I absolutely, positively have fallen head over heels for this beautifully sparkled city. I never want to leave!!

My gurl Nina and I have been having a better holiday than I imagined in my wildest dreams!

Hawaii was so chilled out! We went on an awesome boat trip and literally jumped into the middle of the ocean and swam with wild dolphins. It was one of the most amazing, beautiful things that I have ever experienced in my entire life. They are such elegant and gentle creatures and I feel so blessed to have observed them in their natural habitat. We ate great food, drank beautiful cocktails, saw fabulous tribal shows and spent hours relaxing in the sun. Here are some of our beautiful memories =)

New York was amazing too... I will post some more photos very shortly. I hope everyone is having a fantastic March x

...I will think of you, every step of the way...

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Thu, 16 Feb 2012 05:27:00 +0000

Like squillions of little girls around the globe, I was absolutely devastated at the news that Whitney Houston had passed away. I am even more devasted for Bobbi Cristina, we may have lost one of the most talented and influential artists of all time, but Bobbi will now have to walk without her mother. This girl is the real tragedy in this story, she has been through so much.

There are dozens of online discussions and websites speculating about how she passed - anti-depressents and alcohol, overdose, suicide and even conspiricy theories stating it is a cover up.

I personally think we are focussing on the wrong thing here. If you are a true fan you will remember her for voice of an angel, her infectious giggle and her warm and joyful presence. To me, Whitney Houston was the voice that was sweet and strong at the same time and was one of the very first artists that I started singing to. Her hauntingly beautiful music will still live on, as will her memory.

Here is a video of my favorite Whitney songs and below are some photos.

R.I.P Whitney, you were more than amazing and we will miss you forever, especially when we listen to the autoned singers of today and remember that you were the one and only.

P.S. My laptop has conveniently broke just before I leave for Hawaii & LA, (YAY!!!) so I apologize for the lack of activity, she should be all better by Friday.

Nonsense Neon Nights.

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Thu, 09 Feb 2012 18:18:00 +0000

As my departure to America creeps closer, sleepless nights are occurring more and more frequently. Yes, I have always had trouble drifting off, as my mind seems to be constantly full of thoughts - but this is bad, even for me. It is 4:04am and I am about to try and force myself to sleep, even though I am not the slightest bit tired. Maybe its the realization that I am jetting off in less than two weeks that leaves my soul so euphoric that I cant bear to close my eyes. Or, maybe I fear that I have forgotten something important despite my meticulous planning.

Anywho. I thought that since I am wide awake, I may as well leave you with some beautiful neon images. I hope your night was filled with more sleep than mine xx

Cheers for the freakin weekend.

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Mon, 06 Feb 2012 01:32:00 +0000

I spent this fabulous Friday with three beautiful girls called Rachael, Gemma & Danielle. We started off the night at Gemma's place and ended up in the valley. I had an absolute ball!! Here are some of our happy snaps. I hope everybody had a splendid Friday night xxx

Can't take Rachael anywhere. She always seems to ended up kissing monkeys....

.... Yes, I am chopping up my eyelashes with a kitchen knife, we couldn't find scissors and it seemed like a good idea at the time =P

Alice Dellal. You make me smile.

. A L I C E D E L L A L .

I ~~adore~~ am obsessed with this 24 year old Brazilian model/fashion icon for so many reasons!

Instead of simply going with that I'm-so-gorgeous-that-I-can-have-a-plain-dress-boring-getup-and-look-stunning approach to fashion like a lot of high end models do, she clearly bends the mold.

I love her tattoos, her shaved head, her bad-ass accessories, her ripped stockings, the way she wears under garments as outer garments, her I-don't-give-a-fuck attitude and the list goes on...

I love everything about her style!

Do you love it or hate it?

Phuket, Adventures of Thailand.

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Wed, 01 Feb 2012 14:11:00 +0000

I have finally got around to uploading my photos from Thailand. I decided to split them up into two posts as I took a zillion photos. Thailand is definitely a fabulous holiday on the cheap, but my lord MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR SHOTS!!!
My ex-boyfriend Julius and I didn't. I was sick within 6 hours and he was sick within 5 days.

On the up side I lost 4kg in 11 days, on the downside I was too tired to shop properly or take full advantage of the amazing beaches. Here are a few photos (OK, a lot) that I took while I was in Phuket. I was lucky enough to meet two amazing girls from South Africa to party with (even though I looked & felt like shit), was also daring enough to get among some animals at the zoo (although the living conditions of the animals were so poor it was heartbreaking) and I picked up some amazing things to take back home.

Aussie Aussie Aussie Oii Oii Oii!!!!!!!!

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Sat, 28 Jan 2012 16:49:00 +0000

I am again sorry for the lack of posts but I am definitely on top of it again! I promise!

I have had a lot of things going on lately... an overseas trip, a breakup, drama with a friend of mine and trying to tie up my plans for America...

Anywoo... I had a blast this Australia day starting off at my girl Rachael's house and then finishing off at the Story Bridge Hotel like a real Aussie. Here are some happy snaps. My Thailand pictures will be here soon. How was everybody's weekend??? x

Back From Isolation.

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Tue, 24 Jan 2012 08:35:00 +0000

I am extremely apologetic to those in my blogosphere for the lack of posts lately, but please let me plead my case. I went on a trip to Thailand recently and picked up a lovely little cocktail of illnesses (migraines, a throat infection, a fever, a stomach bug and a cold - lucky me!) and have since been recovering and sleeping it off back in my clean Brisbane air. I have also completed two Nida short courses over the last couple weeks so I have really been immersing myself in acting lately, which I have been loving. I got to practice television presenting, play a range of roles in front of a camera including an evil bitch of an older sister and a drop kick heroin addict which was a blast.

Anywho, I have a heap of photos from Thailand that I will be uploading shortly - along with details of my crazy holiday, so keep posted. In the meanwhile, I want to share some photos that my amazingly talented friend and makeup artist Rachael Susan took of me. She transformed me into a snake that symbolized rebirth and breaking out of your old skin, which I felt was a beautiful and encouraging concept.

Didn't she do a fabulous job?

I can't believe how real she made the snake skin around my neck look! She is such a smart cookie!

Before I left for Thailand I also caught up with another irreplaceable girl named Rachael. We had some sushi and cocktails at a club called Zuri and as usual had amazing conversations.

My new years eve was unfortunately a little bit of a let down (as usual) and I had more fun at the pre-drinks gathering than at the crowded club we went to. But hey, I guess when you build something up it never lives up to your expectations. I think I will have a quiet one next year. Here a few pics of the night.

How was everybody's new years?

Glad to be back x

Clinically insane.

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Wed, 28 Dec 2011 11:08:00 +0000

This is just a quick little post to wish everyone a messy new years. I want nothing else but to have fun with my loved ones and make an absolute dick of myself but still manage to climb on the plane to Thailand the next day. I can't wait to see the insane pictures out there in blogland after the biggest party day of the year. Goodbye 2011. I learnt a lot and had many unforgettable experiences with irreplaceable people.

Hello 2012!!!

My lord. My 2011 has been a mammoth mountain of fun! I hope yours was just as merry.

Happy new year xxx

Happy Silly Season =)

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Tue, 27 Dec 2011 14:29:00 +0000

Merry Christmas everyone!!

I love this time of year. Everything just seems to feel more special. I had a wonderful Christmas day. I woke up at the crack of dawn to cook and spent the day eating and playing in the pool with my cousins.

How was everyone's Christmas?

I have an all white party that I am supposed to be going to for NYE but to be honest, white just isn't my colour. It makes me look large and I am not really digging any of this seasons white party dresses, they all seem to look the same. I am kinda stuck...

Any suggestions would be welcomed. What is everyone doing for new years eve?

Where the EFF have I been?

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Fri, 23 Dec 2011 14:30:00 +0000

My slack ass has been a little slow with the posts lately, so here is an update. I am back living with my mum and little sisters and loving it. I have lived out of home for a while now and its really special bonding with them all over again.

Here are some pictures of my beautiful little sister Kate at her grade 7 graduation.

I also filmed a music video where I played a homeless girl who turns into a hooker and later contemplates jumping of a bridge, which was a tonne of fun. The crew were amazing and I had a wonderful makeup artist/hairdresser named Desiree that made me all dirty and homeless looking. Here are a few pictures my mum took. I cant wait to see the video =)

I also went to stereosonic two weeks ago but forgot to take photos - here a few of the ones I managed to get...they are terribly blurry, but whatevs.

I also caught up with my friend Rachel over some sushi which was awesome. She has just returned from a 3 month holiday in LA, so we definitely had mountains to catch up on.

Can I also add that I am rather excited for Christmas and all of the irreplaceable family time and delicious food that it brings. Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you have a fabulous time x

My Baby's Formal.

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Mon, 12 Dec 2011 05:34:00 +0000

I have been sick and havent left my bed in almost a week. I am sorry for that. My baby sister Georgia graduated a few weeks ago and looked absolutely amazingly beautiful at her formal. It literally brought tears to my eyes to see what a gorgeous, strong little (although taller than me) woman she has grown up to be. I have never been more proud in my whole entire life. I sat there remembering little Georgia with her unruly curls, gruff smokers voice (so rough that people would refer to her as my little brother) and missed being able to pick her up in my arms. She is one of the only people in this world that will constantly love me and look up to me no matter what I do and I am so blessed every day to have her. Here are some of the photos of my stunning sister =)

Garage Sale, A Little Tattoo & Other Activities.

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Thu, 01 Dec 2011 02:23:00 +0000

This week has been fricken nuts.

I am sure you have noticed my absence of posts, particularly photo posts. I apologize.

After living by my lonesome for over a year a half I am moving out of my house and selling everything in it. I am going to live with my mother and two little sisters for a few months before my trip to America in late February which is both equally exciting and terrifying at the same time. I will miss my pretty little house and it saddens me to sell everything but it is also quite cleansing. I am having a garage sale of all of my things this Saturday, If you are living in Brisbane and would like to buy some super cheap clothes, shoes, bags, jewelry, accessories, furniture and everything else under the sun, please email me at hayleyhour@hotmail.com for details, things start at $1 so you wont be disappointed, although I will =(

I also finally got my tattoo on Saturday at West Side Tattos, in West End. What do you think?

I also caught up with loved ones for a barbecue followed by some dancing. I hope everyone is having a great week =)

Latest Obsession - Lipstick Stickers.

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Mon, 28 Nov 2011 04:02:00 +0000

My friend Grace showed me a picture of a lip sticker and I instantly fell hoplessy in love. I googled away and found a heap of lip stickers that I am lusting over, made by Violent Lips.

What a bloody fantastic idea!!!

I can't wait to get my hands on these babies! What are your thoughts on lip stickers?

Yay or nay?

Take me away.

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Sun, 27 Nov 2011 14:26:00 +0000

I have been planning a 3 month trip to America over the last month and all the googling has made more itch to travel more than ever. I thought it would be appropriate to do a post of travel and free spirited fashion.

HURRY UP 2012!!!!

2012 is the year of travel for me. I am off to Thailand and Cambodia on the 1st of January for 10 days which will be a blast! The magical USA will have one more loud mouthed brown girl on their shores from March to June. My good friend Nina and I are doing Hawaii, New York, LA and possibly one more place (undecided, although Brazil, Florida & Mexico are at the top of my list) if we get time. Nina is only staying for 2 weeks and the rest of the time I will be riding solo which will be exciting!

In other news I FINALLY GOT MY TATTOO!! After pondering over it for literally years I just took the jump. I will post pictures soon I promise. Have a fan-fucking-tastic week xx

Brisvegas Pool Party

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Fri, 25 Nov 2011 15:15:00 +0000

This day was the very day that I was inspired to clean my dirty act up. Yes, this day is the very reason I embarked on my 20 day detox - I have not poisoned my body since.

I had a alcohol filled day of crazy good times and woke up with one the worst hangovers I have had in my whole entire life. The after booze blues really reached new records the next day, and getting myself out of bed was a real effort. All in all, the day was amazing. Spending time soaking up the sun with loved ones and cooling down with UDLs and spa D&Ms were just some of the headlining acts.

Below are the mountain of photos, I hope you enjoy them xx

Shoegasms.

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Wed, 23 Nov 2011 01:59:00 +0000

Ok. So this post is basically a self-indulgent wish list of sexual shoes that I would most probably never be able to afford. I must say that we live in rather fruitful shoe moment. I love shoes. I mean I LOVE shoes. I literally have a bookcase full of them and if I had my way there would be 10. Lately I have been that little more obsessed than usual, the pictures below explain everything. I hope you love them as much as I do.

In other news, I am on day 10 of my 20 day detox and I am actually feeling so much better. The first few days were hell, I lost my voice, was throwing up and I was so weak all over that I almost stopped. On day 10 I already feel much more energized, my sleepless nights are decreasing (I have insomnia) and I am waking up so much easier. If you haven't had a detox, I would strongly recommend having one. I also went and got my two other piercings in my helix (upper ear) that I have wanted for a while. I can't wait untill they will so I can replace the bars with some bad ass rings with dangles!

I hope everyone is having a fabulous week x

My Fascination With Jayne Mansfield.

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Sun, 20 Nov 2011 03:20:00 +0000

I have always been intrigued by the glamorous actresses of old Hollywood. Maybe because back then you needed just the right combination of real talent, amazing looks, a brain, numerous husbands and a mountain of scandal to make it to the silver screen. In particular, I adore pin up stars and how their bodies were so womanly and curvacious in contrast to the junkie looking, rake thin, 12 year old boy bodies that are considered beautiful today. Yes, the 50s and 60s were fascinating to say the very least.

Jayne Mansfield.

Although I must admit that I am a Marilyn Monroe fan through & through (I literally have several pictures of her on my walls and quite a few books), this blonde bombshell definitely makes a close second in my blonde sexy symbol list.

Like Marilyn she was extremely provocative, married more than twice, died tragically and will be forever remembered.

In brief, Jayne had her first child when she was 17 and had 4 more after that, was married 3 times and had many, many affairs. She died in a horrific automobile accident with her married lover (who also died) and her three children (who all survived) at the age of 36. Upon reading her biographies she seemed like an eccentric, rule breaking and free spirited woman who loved to cause a stir by flashing her nipples (literally) when she knew the cameras were rolling. She was also the first mainstream star to appear nude in a motion picture, so put that in your pipe and smoke it! Here are some (ok, a lot) of my favorite pictures of her.

One last interesting fact, guess who her daughter is? I'm sure you will recognize this face from Law & Order - its Mariska Hargitay!

Anywho... I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend x

Getting Plaid All Over Again.

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Thu, 17 Nov 2011 00:40:00 +0000

Plaid fashion is clearly nothing new, geez I remember wearing those little skanky pleated minis in primary school. I threw all my tartan out when I was about 13-14 and I thought I was sure never to see them ever again. But its been back in for a little while now and while I already have a red plaid shirt for over my little cutoff denim shorts, I definitely want more! I am really after some high waist plaid trousers in purple, or possibly even green, and maybe even some new wheels. How do you feel about plaid?

After a disgusting alcohol fueled weekend (I literally drank for almost 9 hours straight and wanted to kill myself on Sunday morning - literally) I have decided to have a 20 day detox. At my last visit to the doctors, my livers and kidneys came up fine. I was bloody shocked considering the damage I have done to my body in my rebellious years! Nonetheless, after partying since I was 14 and clubbing since I was 15 I have decided it is time to call a timeout for a while. I will undoubtedly have a few more reckless nights in my future but I am definitely ready to slowdown to concentrate on more important things. In other news I have enrolled in Nida (acting school) and I am doing a few workshops over the summer and I am also doing a 4 hour photography workshop to get to know my camera a little better. My trip to America is also currently in planning stage, so I am super dooper excited for the months ahead yeeeeeewwwwwwwww!!

How was everyone's week?
Any news?

P.S. check out My vintage store tab or my Facebook page because I have lots of awesome vintage clothes & all of the ebay starting prices are under $10, most under $5 so get into it xx

Shes Only Happy In The Sun

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Tue, 15 Nov 2011 05:24:00 +0000

So far my summer has been filled with lots of sun, amazing people, good food and a bit of shitty wine. A few weekends ago, my friends and I had another Sunday session with a delicious BBQ and lots of laughter. I really really adore the people in my life and would have misplaced my smile this last month if I was without them. This weekend I spent at an awesome pool party for my friend Rachael's birthday, so stay tuned and these pictures will be posted very soon. These are a selection of photos taken by my friends Grace & Naomi (or as I call her Shenaynay) and myself. I hope you enjoy these captured moments as much as we did living them.

African Circus

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Fri, 11 Nov 2011 16:38:00 +0000

A little while ago I had the privilege of seeing the African Circus in Hamilton. I'm not gonna lie, I didn't know what to expect. I haven't been to a circus in years but my boyfriend bought us tickets, so I thought it sounded like a fun idea. I was so impressed with these guys performance I literally sat there for the whole show thinking 'HOLY SHIT'. It was amusing to say the least. Half naked boys jumping all over eachother, my boyfriend jumping on stage with a clown, an amazingly talented little girl and 3 graceful Asian girls were just some of the highlights. If you are living in Australia, I totally suggest you check them out HERE

Anywho, Its 2am and I have a MASSIVE weekend ahead of me - two birthdays (one is a pool party that starts in 12 hours), a South African family get together (family are visiting from South Africa, which means LOTS of amazing food) and possibly a morning at the beach if I can squeeze it in. What do you have planned for the weekend? Well I better get my lonely ass to bed to get my beauty sleep.

Hollarrr xx

Top of the world.

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Mon, 07 Nov 2011 02:51:00 +0000

Haayyyy ;)

How was everybody's weekend?

Mine was extremely chilled. I did a little shopping on Saturday and had another Sunday sesh at southbank with my buddies (photos up soon). I am absolutely over my hair at the moment. I have blonde and brown through it right now (pictures from my friend Nina's birthday below) and I really want to go completely dark again.

Black or dark brown????

Here are a few photos (some very old) of me with black hair & brown hair. Which do you prefer?

Black

Dark Brown

Brown

Black

Brown

So yeah. What do you think?

I am also thinking of getting a few more ear piercings just for the fuck of it.

Sorry about the lack of substance of this post, but truth be told I am boring as fuck of late. I am sincerely trying to change this and revert back to the fun, crazy person I was. Next Saturday one of my close friends Rachael is having a Vegas themed pool party where we have to wear bikinis, heels, big hair and a tonne of makeup. It should be a well laugh when we are all falling over in our bikinis by the end of the day haha. Maybe my inner wild child will pop back out next weekend. Keep posted for the photos of the bash. I am positive they will be Lindsay Lohan style scandalous.

For now I shall leave you with a picture of the sexy beast that is Tremaine and a little clip of his latest song. I adore it so much I named this post after it. Maybe he will run off into the sunset with me on a white horse as a thank you? Maybe?

Anywho, I hope everyone has a fan-fucking-tastic day. Holllaaaarrrrr x

Till Death Do Us Part?

noreply@blogger.com (Hayley) — Thu, 03 Nov 2011 06:01:00 +0000

I'm sure everyone who has access to a computer or a television is well aware of the recent demise of Kim Kardashian's extremely brief marriage.

The vast majority are pointing the finger at Kim, saying that it was merely a publicity stunt or a money making venture. Look, I totally get that she is notorious for being famous for nothing (other than that sex tape that I'm sure most of us have seen) and uses every opportunity to make an appearance, but could she have really gone this far?

Regardless of whether this marriage was real or not I really feel sorry for her. If it is a publicity stunt, I am heartbroken that such a mockery was made of something that was once a deceleration of love and eternity. Something that is sometimes seen these days as just another big party with a fabulous new dress, that can easily be taken care of if things go south. If it was genuine, its extremely tragic that it didn't even last a year and that she has to face media scrutiny in a time of such devastation.

I think that this marriage (and many others) is really indicative of modern times. Women don't need to get married for financial stability anymore, nor is it frowned upon to be a single mother like it was when my grandmother was growing up. Couples are jumping into 'forever' in a matter of months and jumping back out again less than a decade later. As a child of divorce I completely understand the pressures of making a relationship work are way greater than what we read in story books as children. I cant help but wonder, is marriage necessary these days? In a time of uncertainty, temptation, relaxed morals, 1 in 3 marriages ending in divorce and when where we wont even stay loyal to a job for more than a few years, can it really work forever? I still really want to walk down the isle one day, but if I do, I hope I only do it once.

One thing is for sure, journalists will be falling over each other to get interviews from her and (as usual) Kim will be all over magazines for a long time to come.

I really hope her friends and family are sticking by her side for this one.

Just remember -

'For every dark night, there's a brighter day.'
- Tupac Shakur.
