Today marks the 5 year anniversary of Frayed Laces. Back in 2007, I had just finished my first 5k and made the then crazy decision to run a marathon. I decided to start a blog to document my training--thus, Frayed Laces was born.

When I typed my first post, I never could have imagined where the next five years would go. With the encouragement and support of everyone I met along the way, my "non-athlete" self discovered the joys of training and racing. More importantly, I discovered the joys of blogging.

Over the years I have met countless bloggers in person, and developed deep friendships with them--some of whom I've still yet to meet in person. Non-bloggers ask me why I blog. I can't ever give them a reason. All I know is sharing my struggles and connecting with all of you makes me happy. It gives me the encouragement to keep struggling in my training and pushing as hard as I can in my racing. Honestly, I'm not sure if I'd still be doing endurance racing if it weren't for your support.

So today, on my 5 year anniversary, I am so proud and excited to share my new website with you. I'm still keeping the blog format, but I went through all my old posts and pulled out the most informative posts as resources to help new and experienced athletes. I've also included a section on my favorite gear (some of which are from my sponsors, some are not). Everything is cleaned up and streamlined and should be a lot easier to navigate. I really hope you guys like it!
