Hey guys & girls, Enzo here once again. This post is basically what ive learnt through my experience through marketing. Ive done everything! Telemarketing, Door to door, in stores, For Charity... You name it and ive done it... Well here i go... what i have learnt through my experience through marketing...

ok, whatever you do, no matter what anyone else says... (which actually almost got me fired from my previous employment in telemarketing :D) ALWAYS BE YOURSELF!!!! i cannot stress enough about this... at my previous employment in telemarketing i was always told to READ THE SCRIPT, everyone in sales and marketing hates that line because i can guarentee that use have all heard it. But look, just think about it for a second... Who do you think wrote that script...? Just some guy or girl who made it in sales and that worked for that person. Fair enough, im sure it did but just because it worked for him (or her) doesnt mean that it is going to work for everyone. Anyways as i was saying, just dont. I kinda had to find out the hard way. When i was doing telemarketing, im not going to lie... i was bad, so bad that i almost lost my job! I didnt know why... nobody knew why... and the way i found out is, because we had an automatic dialer which basicaly means it called numbers at random, 1 day it sent me through a call with a person names David.

I started speaking to him and i could tell i was losing him, he really just didnt seem interested at all, but then i looked on the screen and he was from the same suburb as me and was the same age. I looked at the address and i couldnt beleive my eyes... it was my old best friend from high school.

Anyways i started talking to him just as a friend not trying to sell him anything, and all of a sudden he was interested. It may have been coz he knew me or it may have been coz he just felt comfortable, i dont know, but whatever the reason was it worked.

So i decided to try to experiment a bit. The next phone call was just a normal random call. I just well... kinda just acted like myself... didnt read the script, just spoke to them as a friend. i mean obviously i still did follow the guidelines to get the sale but i wasnt a robot. Beleive me... it worked!!!!

Within next 2 days i was earning the 2nd most highest sales in the company of over 400 employee's in my role. 2 months later i got promoted to Team Leader & trainer and 2 months from my promotion, my team who i all individualy trained myself wich consisted of 12 people, had all been ranked in the top 20 in sales out of the 500+ employee's in the same role at the time.

So look, im not saying to go and ignore everything your trainer has taught you and just do your own thing... i can almost guarentee that there is a high chance of failure if you decide to try that. The only reason why i did is because i had a reason to beleive that it was the best interest in my sales if i did and im sure i was going to be laid off if i didnt do something fast. All im saying is just find that key... just find that little kick to get you out of that whole that "THE SCRIPT" got you in.
