Sudha murthy's letter to JRD tata (it'll let u know him if u are unaware of JRD)

It was probably the April of 1974. Bangalore was getting warm and
gulmohars were blooming at the IISc campus. I was the only girl in my
postgraduate department and was staying at the ladies' hostel. Other girls
were pursuing research in different departments of Science.

I was looking forward to going abroad to complete a doctorate in
computer science. I had been offered scholarships from Universities in the
US. I had not thought of taking up a job in India.

One day, while on the way to my hostel from our lecture-hall complex,
I saw an advertisement on the notice board. It was a standard job-requirement
notice from the famous automobile company Telco (now Tata Motors).
It stated that the company required young, bright engineers, hardworking and
with an excellent academic background, etc.

At the bottom was a small line: "Lady candidates need not apply."
I read it and was very upset. For the first time in my life I was up
against gender discrimination.

Though I was not keen on taking up the job, I saw it as a challenge. I had
done extremely well in academics, better than most of my male peers. Little
did I know then that in real life academic excellence is not enough to be
successful.

After reading the notice I went fuming to my room. I decided to inform the
topmost person in Telco's management about the injustice the company was
perpetrating. I got a postcard and started to write, but there was a
problem: I did not know who headed Telco.

I thought it must be one of the Tatas. I knew JRD Tata was the head of the
Tata Group; I had seen his pictures in newspapers (actually, Sumant
Moolgaokar was the company's chairman then). I took the card, addressed it
to JRD and started writing. To this day I remember clearly what I wrote.

"The great Tatas have always been pioneers. They are the people who started
the basic infrastructure industries in India, such as iron and steel,
chemicals, textiles and locomotives. They have cared for higher education
in India since 1900 and they were responsible for the establishment of the
Indian Institute of Science. Fortunately, I study there. But I am surprised
how a company such as Telco is discriminating on the basis of gender."

I posted the letter and forgot about it. Less than 10 days later, I
received a telegram stating that I had to appear for an interview at
Telco's Pune facility at the company's expense. I was taken aback by the
telegram. My hostel mate told me I should use the opportunity to go to Pune
free of cost and buy them the famous Pune saris for cheap! I collected Rs
30 each from everyone who wanted a sari. When I look back, I feel like
laughing at the reasons for my going, but back then they seemed good enough
to make the trip.

It was my first visit to Pune and I immediately fell in love with the city.

To this day it remains dear to me. I feel as much at home in Pune as I do
in Hubli, my hometown. The place changed my life in so many ways. As
directed, I went to Telco's Pimpri office for the interview.

There were six people on the panel and I realised then that this was
serious business.

"This is the girl who wrote to JRD," I heard somebody whisper as soon as I
entered the room. By then I knew for sure that I would not get the job. The
realisation abolished all fear from my mind, so I was rather cool while the
interview was being conducted.

Even before the interview started, I reckoned the panel was biased, so I
told them, rather impolitely, "I hope this is only a technical interview."

They were taken aback by my rudeness, and even today I am ashamed about my
attitude. The panel asked me technical questions and I answered all of
them.

Then an elderly gentleman with an affectionate voice told me, "Do you know
why we said lady candidates need not apply? The reason is that we have
never employed any ladies on the shop floor. This is not a co-ed college;
this is a factory. When it comes to academics, you are a first ranker
throughout. We appreciate that, but people like you should work in research
laboratories."

I was a young girl from small-town Hubli. My world had been a limited
place.

I did not know the ways of large corporate houses and their difficulties,
so I answered, "But you must start somewhere, otherwise no woman will ever
be able to work in your factories."

Finally, after a long interview, I was told I had been successful. So this
was what the future had in store for me. Never had I thought I would take
up a job in Pune. I met a shy young man from Karnataka there, we became
good friends and we got married.

It was only after joining Telco that I realized who JRD was: the uncrowned
king of Indian industry. Now I was scared, but I did not get to meet him
till I was transferred to Bombay. One day I had to show some reports to Mr
Moolgaokar, our chairman, who we all knew as SM. I was in his office on the
first floor of Bombay House (the Tata headquarters) when, suddenly JRD
walked in. That was the first time I saw "appro JRD". Appro means "our" in
Gujarati. This was the affectionate term by which people at Bombay House
called him.

I was feeling very nervous, remembering my postcard episode. SM introduced
me nicely, "Jeh (that's what his close associates called him), this young
woman is an engineer and that too a postgraduate.

She is the first woman to work on the Telco shop floor." JRD looked at me.
I was praying he would not ask me any questions about my interview (or the
postcard that preceded it).

Thankfully, he didn't. Instead, he remarked. "It is nice that girls are
getting into engineering in our country. By the way, what is your name?"

"When I joined Telco I was Sudha Kulkarni, Sir," I replied. "Now I am Sudha
Murthy." He smiled and kindly smile and started a discussion with SM. As
for me, I almost ran out of the room.

After that I used to see JRD on and off. He was the Tata Group chairman and
I was merely an engineer. There was nothing that we had in common. I was in
awe of him.

One day I was waiting for Murthy, my husband, to pick me up after office
hours. To my surprise I saw JRD standing next to me. I did not know how to
react. Yet again I started worrying about that postcard. Looking back, I
realise JRD had forgotten about it. It must have been a small incident for
him, but not so for me.

"Young lady, why are you here?" he asked. "Office time is over." I said,
"Sir, I'm waiting for my husband to come and pick me up." JRD said, "It is
getting dark and there's no one in the corridor.

I'll wait with you till your husband comes."

I was quite used to waiting for Murthy, but having JRD waiting alongside
made me extremely uncomfortable.

I was nervous. Out of the corner of my eye I looked at him. He wore a
simple white pant and shirt. He was old, yet his face was glowing. There
wasn't any air of superiority about him. I was thinking, "Look at this
person. He is a chairman, a well-respected man in our country and he is
waiting for the sake of an ordinary employee."

Then I saw Murthy and I rushed out. JRD called and said, "Young lady, tell
your husband never to make his wife wait again." In 1982 I had to resign
from my job at Telco. I was reluctant to go, but I really did not have a
choice. I was coming down the steps of Bombay House after wrapping up my
final settlement when I saw JRD coming up. He was absorbed in thought. I
wanted to say goodbye to him, so I stopped. He saw me and paused.

Gently, he said, "So what are you doing, Mrs Kulkarni?" (That was the way
he always addressed me.) "Sir, I am leaving Telco."

"Where are you going?" he asked. "Pune, Sir. My husband is starting a
company called Infosys and I'm shifting to Pune."

"Oh! And what will you do when you are successful."

"Sir, I don't know whether we will be successful." "Never start with
diffidence," he advised me. "Always start with confidence. When you are
successful you must give back to society. Society gives us so much; we must
reciprocate. I wish you all the best."

Then JRD continued walking up the stairs. I stood there for what seemed
like a millennium. That was the last time I saw him alive. Many years later
I met Ratan Tata in the same Bombay House, occupying the chair JRD once
did. I told him of my many sweet memories of working with Telco. Later, he
wrote to me, "It was nice hearing about Jeh from you. The sad part is that
he's not alive to see you today."

I consider JRD a great man because, despite being an extremely busy person,
he valued one postcard written by a young girl seeking justice. He must
have received thousands of letters everyday. He could have thrown mine
away, but he didn't do that. He respected the intentions of that unknown
girl, who had neither influence nor money, and gave her an opportunity in
his company. He did not merely give her a job; he changed her life and
mindset forever.

Close to 50 per cent of the students in today's engineering colleges are
girls. And there are women on the shop floor in many industry segments. I
see these changes and I think of JRD. If at all time stops and asks me what
I want from life, I would say I wish JRD were alive today to see how the
company we started has grown. He would have enjoyed it wholeheartedly.

My love and respect for the House of Tata remains undiminished by the
passage of time. I always looked up to JRD. I saw him as a role model for
his simplicity, his generosity, his kindness and the care he took of his
employees. Those blue eyes always reminded me of the sky; they had the same
vastness and magnificence.

The most wonderful days of my life were my school days...i wish i could get them back..those were the days, can’t describe, though we came across college there is no substitute for school days, memories, friends who are the most easy to connect back, wonder why the case though.guess it’s the age where we are still innocent and make friends without any expectations from others, Sometimes you need to leave the sweetest things of your life way behind and move on.

But we always had an humble to connect back to school, teachers, school friends and pay a small tribute to our school by any way, when we saw alumni associations in our colleges we felt why don't we do the same in our school and stay connected through it and though this we can support and go hand in hand with juniors, we shared the same with our friends, the response intensified our wish to do it.

we met our current principal Ravishankar who supported and guided us from the day we met in every walks of the process, even our pt sir Shivlinge gowda sir guided us whole heartedly, we decided to make reunion of our batch and let all our friends know about what we have thought and inaugurate it on the same day

we decided to do it on July 3rd(Sunday)2011 and invited our batch-mates(2005 pass-out) as many as we can bring in contact, even the ones who left school in the middle and invited them for the sake, many agreed to come though few had some inevitable reasons to skip, we invited almost all the teachers who taught us from LKG, even the committee members.

On July 3rd :

we planned to start off by the assembly as we were doing in school days at 9:45,we even collected tie from gowda sir for the sake, we had informed all our friends to come by 8:30-9 and for teachers by 9:15,only few of our friends with us for preparation sake, it was 9 only a few friends came and teachers started to come has added to our worries, by 9:45 even the committee members came already still many friends were about come, we pushed the time till 10 with refreshment to them, we made the assembly by ten, as in school days we started with school prayer followed national anthem, we made a move line by line to the BeD hall, where we did function as were advancing to our class in school, gowda sir took attendance of students, we even took attendance of teachers. Shamanna sir,Krishnappa sir,maharudra sir,shamim miss inaugurated the Alumni association including students followed by the explanation of intentions of it,then committee members made a speech, we projected the old memories video that we had done which included the inauguration of our school,first pass-out batch pic,any many memories we had in school with pics of teachers in it, every one nodded and applauded it as it took them back to those days, later we shared the opinion of students and teachers,followed by the lunch then some games for teachers,they felt very happy,many came from distant places for the sake of attending it, many announced funds to the alumni association, even the projector guy impressed with cause made a 100rs donation for it,even we gave gifts to aaya's which made them to feel as a part of function,we took a group pic,it was a grand success at-last :)

Well I thought to share my opinion and experience with you hoping it may help

The placement process in HCL technologies will be as follows.

INITIALLY THERE ARE 2 ROUNDS FOR RECRUITMENT PROCESS:

First is a technical test.

There are 4 sections:

1) Quantitative Aptitude (25 questions - 35 min)

Time, Work, Distance, Probability, HCF & LCM,Permutations and Combination,Profit & Loss,Problems on Ages,Simplification.

2) Verbal (25 questions - 25 min)

Sentence Correction, Passage reading, Coding and Decoding, Blood relations, Direction based problems, Synonyms , Antonyms, Sentence matching for the conditions based on the Passage.

3) C programming (25 questions - 35 min)

There were few questions on basics, data structure (more on binary trees) even few questions from graph theory regarding bipartite graph and time complexity questions from ADA too!!

4) Logical Reasoning (24 questions - 35 min )

It's the easiest part among four but you need to be patient to read all

It'll will be online test, there is NO Negative Mark, and you must manage your time in ONLINE exam. One question is displayed in screen, You must answer it, If not next question will not displays, There will be sectional cut-offs so you got be more careful though it'll be easy..

Second is HR round:

The interviewer asked nothing more than couple of questions on versions, use of DBMS and on the academic project rather than that it was more general, questions more likely on what i confessed in Tell me about yourself and on my hobbies felt he was just keen on our communication skills and confidence than the content we delivered, He then asked whether I had a problem in relocation, do i work if put in various areas, Then he also mentioned about an 18 month bond we have to sign for joining the company and asked to sign on some letter then, he asked me to ask something about HCL or any queries I’ve, I asked regarding the scope for higher studies after joining the firm, he explained they got tie up with various institutions and after couple of years we have free to opt those., i asked him to give the feedback, he replied he'll let me know it in the result.

Among 260 students sat for online test at JNNCE,shimoga, 86 cleared aptitude and among those 77 got placed in HCL,the one thing i appreciate is the ordered way HCL conducted the interview, it was so neat and planned, hats off for the approach.., so the key is cracking the apti if you're done with it you're almost in :)

Unforgettable trip to mullayana giri,manikyadara falls,hattigundi falls,bababudangiri,AIT college :)

“Unplanned moments are always better then the planned ones.” Sounds so true for me after we had been to this trip, we take couple of week or even more to plan and organize a trip, but we planned it a day before, merely not sure even the previous night, but ended with a fabulous trip than ever had before.

Well it was around 7a.m our friends(arjun,gaurav,joshi & vijay) left Shimoga, we were about to join them in Bhadravathi, in-fact we 7(me,imran,karan,keerthi,hithesh,sharath,balaji and pini)were waiting eagerly, ignorance of their driving skills necessarily added to the pounding rate of our hearts, especially all are afraid of joshi’s ride, all managed to fetch seats in other two car swiftly as soon as cars arrived, only me,karan and immu left looked at each other and joined joshi, we reached tarikere by 7:50 ,joshi grinned at us telling we reached ten minutes early then schedule, we grinned back though we never saw Speedo-meter going below 80kms/hr, in-fact joshi was more skilled, he was able to manage smoothly in great speed which boosted our confidence on him, we waited a while for other two cars to come went ‘swetha deluxe’ for break-fast.

We advanced towards mullayana giri(ಮುಳ್ಳಯ್ಯನಗಿರಿ also spelt Mullayangiri or Mullainagiri)hill which is Highest peak of Karnataka with height of about 1930 metres (6330 ft), the sites on the way made us to feel why chikmanglur has not included to malenad region, full of greenery blushed us initially though we get tired of it later, we reached top of hill, we are covered full of mist, so thick you will not be able to trace anything a feet far from you, the steps to climb to the top of hill appeared as steps to heaven, we were feeling clouds as just a hand distance apart, the moment of clouds created shade which was mesmerizing to view, wind was blowing with enough speed to push us slightly, we went for temple present on the top, a local guide took us and showed two caves telling gange-bagi cave’s, it was really a awesome view to see from the top, really a place one cannot miss

Viji took us for "Sitalayanagiri" where you have Lord Shiva temple and a source of water that neither increases nor decreases, built on the birth place of some stream it was cold enough to chill you out, joshi took snap telling abhi film shooting was done here, viji added few more film names to the list, from there we went to manikyadara falls, we didn’t get wet as we planned to get into water in hatti-gundi falls,falls was nice and many monkeys, I believe surely they get delighted by seeing some of their kind(us).

We continued our journey to Baba-budanagiri also called data-peeta, a place which is renowned for its communal scandals in-fact the major communal scandal of India standing next to ayodya, It is a common worship place for both Hindu’s and Muslim’s, we did not get entry into darga because of some court case on the issue, well we managed to see some nice scene from top. all were tired enough as we didn’t had lunch so far,we decided to eat litely, see hatti-gundi falls and then to have lunch at chikmanglur

We went to Hatti-gundi falls, as planned ate litely took some biscuit’s to boost energy, you need to trek down at least a km to reach the falls, we get delighted by looking at falls, it was wide spread, it’s the perfect one if you wish to enjoy the falls, it’s safe and secure no bother of getting flooded in water, shallow enough and even less dangerous, few of my friends are caught by leaches on their body, but even leaches are far less when compared to other falls like Hebbe falls, we had lots of fun in water ,to trek up you’ll find grip to climb many friends found it difficult as we didn’t had lunch too.

We then advanced to chikmanglur had our lunch there nearly by 4pm, we called some of our friends from chikmanglur AIT engineering college to accompany us then we made a visit to AIT college, had a small photo session there too, though we took football to play there we couldn’t play more than couple of passes, as all wished we made a city beats, then viji took us to his school, ate enough in bakery advanced back to our homes listening to melodies ,packing the melodious memories we made a safe return……looking ahead for more of such kind

So far we have seen LAN, MAN, WAN, INTERNET & many more but here is new concept of “RED TACTON” which makes the human body as a communication network by name….HAN (Human Area Network).

NTT lab from Japan is currently testing & developing this revolutionary technology. Red Tacton is a new Human Area networking technology that uses the surface of the human body as a safe, high-speed network transmission path. Red Tacton uses the minute electric field generated by human body as medium for transmitting the data. The chips that will be embedded in various devices contain transmitter and receiver built to send and accept data in digital format.

We may have imagined the feature as a place crawling with antennas and emitters, due to the huge growth of wireless communications. And it is seems that the current means of transferring data might already have a very serious competitor none other than the human body.

Thus NTT labs from Japan has announced that is currently testing a revolutionary technology called “RED TACTON”, which use the electric fields generated by the human body as medium for transmitting the data. The chips, which will embed in various devices, contain a transmitter and receiver built to send and accept data in digital format. The chips can take any type of file such as mp3 music file or mail and convert it in to the format that takes the form of digitals pulse that can be passed and read through a human being electric field. ಅದು ನಂಗೆ ಯಾಕ್ ಅಸ್ಟ್ ಇಷ್ಟ ಆಯ್ತು ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ, ಅದ್ನ ಕೆಲ್ದಾಗಿಂದ ನಾನು ಡಿ.ವಿ.ಜಿ ಅವ್ರ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಅಭಿಮಾನಿ ಆಗಿದಿನಿ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಏನ್ ತಪ್ ಆಗಲ್ಲ ಅಂದ್ಕೊತಿನಿ , ಅವ್ರು ಬಳಸೋ ಪದಗಳೇ ಆಗೇ ಎಂತವರಿಗೂ ಇಷ್ಟ ಆಗತ್ತೆ, ಕಗ್ಗ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಲಿನ್ದದ್ರು ಅದ್ರಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡಗಿರೋ ಅರ್ಥ ಮಾತ್ರ ಗಾಡವಾದದ್ದು .

ಡಿ.ವಿ.ಜ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗು ಗೊತ್ತು ಅಥವಾ ಅವರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕೇಳಿರ್ತಾರೆ ಆದ್ರೆ ಡಿ.ವಿ.ಜ(D .V.G) ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜನಕ್ಕೆ ತಿಳಿದಿರೋಲ್ಲ. ಇವರ ಪೂರ್ತಿ ಹೆಸರು ದೇವನಹಳ್ಳಿ ವೆಂಕಟರಮಣಯ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪ, ಡಿ.ವಿ.ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪ (Devanahalli Venkataramanaiah Gundappa),ಇವರು ೧೨೩ ವರ್ಷ ಬಾಳಿದವರು (1887-1975) !!!!!!!,ನೊಬೆಲ್ ಪ್ರೈಸ್ ಕೊಡೋವ್ರಿಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಏನಾದ್ರು ಆರ್ಥ ಆಗ್ಥಿದ್ರೆ ಇದಕೆ ನೊಬೆಲ್ ಪ್ರೈಸ್ ಸಿಗ್ತ್ಹಿತೇನೋ ಅಂತ ನಾವು ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು ಆಶಿಸಬೇಕು ಅಸ್ಟೆ,ಇದ್ನ ಇತ್ತಿಚೆಗೆ ನಾನು ಕೇಳಿದ ಆಗೇ ಇದ್ರ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್ ವರ್ಶನ್ TIN DIN ಅಂತ ಯಾರೋ ಅನುವದಿಸ್ಥಿದರೆ ಅಂತ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗಿ ಸಂತೋಷ ಆಯ್ತು.

              This is the serial which evoked me interest towards serial,well i really had no wish to watch it,to wait so patiently and watch every episodes,well its all because of my friend rakesh i made will to saw it,he had been apprising about this serial so often that all my friends have gone mad after this serial listening to him,to tell honestly i watched it as it has been the matter of discussion and i can't sit idle always staring at their mouth,but as i watched two episodes i loved it that i watched all 4 season in couple of days,sure you will love it its simply superb
              well i started off,the serial revolves around two brothers Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) and Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) ,it is all about breaking out Lincon burrows(who has sentenced for death for the crime he has not commited) by his brother Michael Scofield(brilliant structural engineer)-not exactly but started with the same intention but because of demand it takes new twist as the story extends which u can see in any typical serial..

season 1:

                This is the best of all four and most interesting in fact,As i told it is all about breaking out Burrows out of prison by Scofield,Burrows is accused of murdering the brother of the Vice President of the US. Burrows is sentenced to death and is put in Fox River jail where he awaits his execution,Scofield made a plan for escaping Burrows out of prison and for that gets into the prison(Fox river) for attempting an armed robbery where he befriends the prison doctor Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies) when he pretends to suffer from diabetes, in order to gain daily access to the prison's infirmary. The brothers' fight to ward off the execution is aided by their lifelong friend Veronica Donovan, who begins to investigate the conspiracy that put Lincoln in jail. The Company(An organisation) was responsible for putting Burrows into jail, and they did so because of Lincoln burrow's father, Aldo Burrows, and his former connections to the company. The brothers, along with six other inmates, Fernando Sucre, Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell, Benjamin Miles "C-Note" Franklin, David "Tweener" Apolskis, John Abruzzi, and Charles "Haywire" Patoshik, who come to be known as the Fox River Eight, escape in the season finale.

Season 2

               The second season is all about escape, focusing mainly on the escapees. The team split up and journey to locations across the country with the authorities close behind them as they each posses their individual goals. Brad Bellick gets fired from the prison where he worked as a guard and chases after the inmates himself for the reward money. Several of the escapees reunite in search of a large cache of money buried long ago by another prisoner. Federal agent Alexander Mahone (William Fichtner) is assigned to track down and capture the eight fugitives, but is revealed to be working for The Company, which wants all eight men dead. When Sara discovers her dead father, Governor Frank Tancredi, she meets with Michael, remaining with him as the brothers try to bring down the current President, a Company member. To ensure the brothers' safety, Sara allows herself to be arrested and faces trial. During the trial, the testimony of former Secret Service agent Paul Kellerman, who used to work for the Company-controlled President, exonerates Lincoln and Sara. Several of the escapees are killed or recaptured, but the brothers make it to Panama. Michael, T-Bag, Mahone, and Bellick are arrested by the Panamanian authorities and imprisoned at the Federal de Sona jail at panama..

Season 3

                The third season is very interesting where Michael had to break the most toughest prison Sona and Lincoln on the outside in Panama. Sona is toughest prison as that has been run by the inmates and guarded only from the outside since a riot the year before. Burrows is contacted by Gretchen Morgan (a Company operative who was in charge of operations in Panama) who kidnapped his son LJ and Sara Tancredi. He is told that The Company wants Scofield to break James Whistler out of Sona. The season follows Michael and Whistler's trials in formulating an escape plan, as Michael has to deal with extreme tension and as Lincoln deals with the Company's operative Gretchen Morgan. Sucre gets a job at the prison to aid Michael in his escape plan. As the season ends, the pair manage to escape along with Mahone, and another inmate McGrady leaving behind several accomplices including T-Bag and Bellick. Sucre's identity is discovered by a prison guard and is thrown into Sona just after the escape. LJ and Sofia (who was captured for a guarantee that Whistler would go with her) are traded for Whistler, and Michael seeks revenge against Gretchen for Sara's death.

Season 4(The Final Break)
                   The main storyline for the 4th season concerns a team recruited by Homeland Security agent Don Self to obtain Scylla.Initially team believes it as the Company's "black book", it is later revealed to contain information on an advanced renewable power cell. Over the course of the first half of the season, the team obtain cards to access Scylla, and break into Company headquarters to steal it. In the first half, Sara is discovered to be alive, Bellick is killed, and Self is revealed to be a double agent and is planning to sell Scylla to the highest bidder.at the same time Lincoln decides to join the Company to get it back, while Michael suffers from a hypothalamic hamartoma. He is treated and operated on by the Company. He later learns that his mother, Christina is still alive and was an agent of the Company, who is revealed to acquire Scylla to sell to the highest bidder. Eventually, the series ends in Miami, where Scylla is recovered by Michael and the team,With the help of Paul Kellerman the General and the Company are taken down, and Christina is killed.t-bag was put back into the fox river jail,Kellerman frees the team from all trail and punishment And in the end, Michael sacrifices himself for his brother, wife and child. It was also his choice to do so due to his disease, a brain tumor.The last sceen of Prison-Break is most heart touching,only then we will come to know about Michael's death

          Anyways to put in short the serial is fantabulous,i would put all the word i know to praise for it ,well watch it once,you'll like it :)

well friends whenever you lost a hope in life,if you fear of possibility, this is the movie to watch with. I think this movie might be the source of inspiration for the renown serial prison break, which is even based on escaping from prison. The slow pitch of the movie might bore you in the middle but if you patiently watch till end surely you'll love it.

Andy Dufresne(Tim Robbins), a mild natured banker convicted of murdering his wife and her lover. Though Andy disliked the friendship of other inmates, He slowly developed a unlikely friendship with Red(Morgan Freeman) serving a life sentence who has recently failed to gain parole. Soon, Andy becomes renown with the prison guards, including the corrupt Captain Hadley who offers protection in exchange for financial counseling. warden also makes use of Andy's banking knowledge by exchanging privileges for creative bookkeeping.. Andy uses his goodwill with to expand the library. He took over a twenty year period to execute his plan of being imprisoned, with great patience and perseverance he did it, later Red joined him after his parole as per andy's plan. His smartness, patience and confidence keep him going and he is able to teach the other prisoners that hope is the ultimate means of survival revealing Fear can hold you prisoner and hope can set you free.

nanu nanna kanasu a wonderful movie depicting relation between a daughter and father ,simple and straight presentation,no exaggeration anywhere,prakash raj's acting keeps you unspoken sounds so realistic,even amulya has performed her role well as daughter,ramesh arvind,rajesh has devivered strong performence in special role,Hamsaleka music,sonu nigam voice to putta putta hejje... plus point to drag you into theater,though its a remake from tamil film Abhiyum Naanum,in his debut direction prakash raj has done a great job in showing relation between daughter and father in a neat way, we will be foreseeing for such works in kannada from him
