M&S Campaign

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (24) and Ryan Reynolds (34) star in the autumn/winter campaign for high street store Marks and Spencer. They are the faces of the new Autograph collection. Steve Sharp (M&S executive director) said "Rosie and Ryan are the perfect fit for Autograph - beautiful, exclusive and absolutely contemporary. On set they worked together to deliver a mesmerising performance which allowed us to capture shots that literally sizzle with excitement and an air of mystery."

It has been announced that male model David Gandy, who works for Dolce & Gabbana, is going to be the new face of the AW Collezione Collection. It is also confirmed that Lisa Snowdon, Jamie Redknapp and Twiggy are still key members of the advertising campaigns.

Looks like M&S have upped the ante and are creating a bit of competition for the other high-street stores!

Louboutin for Mary Katrantzou

Now words can't even describe how amazing these shoes are. Christian Louboutin has collaborated with Mary Katrantzou to create a collection of bold, beautiful, ornate shoes.

Topshop's Faux Fur Coat

Topshops beautiful over sized faux fur coat in oxblood is perfect for AW... the rich colour will suit all skin tones and create warmth... the colour will compliment almost any outfit and it's perfect for those cold winter days. And it's nice to have a change from the usual brown fur coats.

The only downside is the hefty price tag... £255... but then again I think it looks worth it and I don't think you will find a coat that looks as nice as this and that is of such good quality so don't let that put you off... unless you're a student like me ;)

Zara Shoes

Zara's shoe collection is rather impressive at the moment. From knee high boots to two-tone ballerinas - they are bang on trend. And they haven't forgotten about the snakeskin for this AW... if you find it too daring to wear on clothes then just grab a pair of Zara's shoes... they have snakeskin boots, heels and ballerinas... so no excuses!

I love the two toned theme they have running through the shoes - it's not only stylish but it's practical as well, they will go with a lot more of your outfits!

But if you're daring enough to go the whole way then take a look at these snakeskin beauties...

Victoria's Secret (a US lingerie brand) is coming to England! The store is going to be on New Bond Street in London and it's rumoured that there are going to be 2 or 3 other stores in the London area as part of a global expansion plan. Victoria's Secret not only specialises in lingerie but also sleepwear, swimwear and cosmetics. The sub-brand PINK is extremely popular and targeted towards college-age women (18-21).

The price of Victoria's Secret underwear is generally more expensive that a regular high-street store but the quality of the items are much better - so you get what you pay for.

The brand is famous for it's extravagant runway shows and the Victoria's Secret Angels that star in it - any models dream. Victoria's Secret Angels have included Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell, Doutzen Croez, Candice Swanepoel, Lily Donaldson, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Chanel Iman, Miranda Kerr, Heidi Klum, Gisele Bundchen, Karolina Kurkova and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Tom Ford AW '11

Tom Ford's AW campaign is not dissimilar to Gucci's campaign. They both contain strong, dramatic colours, they're fierce and they ooze glamour and sex appeal.

Tom Ford's Menswear collection also has come great pieces:

The model in Tom Ford's Womenswear campaign is renowned supermodel and Victoria's Secret Angel; Candice Swanepoel.

But recently Candice has been criticised for her tiny frame and people were shocked to see her dramatic weight loss at the Victoria's Secret Swimwear launch:

She looks significantly smaller than Alessandro and Adriana who are already tiny but she claims to be 'healthy and happy'. Victoria's Secret have been criticised for no longer using curvier models like Tyra Banks, Heidi Klum and Naomi Campbell but choosing super slim models instead. What do you think?

Daria Werbowy

Daria Werbowy is an international supermodel...you may not have heard of her but you definitely would have seen her... She's starred in a huge number of campaigns and has modelled for the likes of Burberry, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Roberto Cavalli and many more. She also holds the record for opening and closing the most shows in one season (12 shows in 2005).

You may recognise Daria from her H&M campaigns:

She also has a contract with Lancome..

Above is the new editorial for Lancome's Hypnose mascara. Daria is on the left and she looks quite similar to Linda Evangelista here!

One of her most recent campaigns is with Stefanel, an Italian designer brand, who she has worked with many times before.

Daria has featured in Vogue many times but I love the images of her from French Vogue in 2010.

Gucci Love

Femininity and sophistication were encapsulated through jewelled colours, dramatic ruffles and the drapes of light silk and chiffon that hung over beautifully polished skin. Contrastingly, the leather gloves, knee high boots and thigh-split sheer skirts generated power and sex appeal; creating a dramatic juxtaposition. As catwalk shows are so extreme there are often only a few pieces that I really like from each show. However, Gucci was a completely different story...

I would do anything to own just one of those looks.. The far right is my favourite because it's the most wearable - it doesn't expose too much. Her legs are on show but her chest is covered up; creating the perfect balance.

The mix of faux fur, leather and chiffon makes me go weak at the knees! Oh and those sunglasses are just perfection. The dress in the middle is definitely my favourite but I also love the faux fur jackets and pencil skirt.

This image is from the Gucci website which shows their collection really is wearable for those of you who thinks it's a bit daring!

I love this look. It's luxurious, very high fashion but again wearable; pure Italian sophistication..

A closer look at those lovely sunglasses! The Burgundy tint to these bring more warmth to the complexion.

And those dramatic red lips and heavily coated lashes added that extra bit of glamour...

LOVE

I have just bought the AW edition of LOVE magazine. It's called supernatural. The cover is just beautiful. There was a choice of 3 covers in the store I went to but I think there is 8 in total. I chose the one with Lara on..but it was a hard choice between her and Nyasha. In fact, I was very tempted to buy both.. I buy Love because I love photography and fashion and the photography in it is always incredible although controversial. The words throughout it are also beautiful and it's totally different to any other magazine. The cover photography was taken by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott (see previous post) and the fashion editors were Panos Yianpanis and Katie Grand.

Inside the magazine, before the cover images, the words read:

"A beauty portfolio featuring the most striking models of the season in ethereal, romantic mood, their faces free of make-up and streaked with tears"

Although, I haven't even started to read the magazine yet... I'm getting carried away with all the amazing images..I have decided that one my favourite shoots in the magazine is Strangelove. The photographer; Solve Sundsbo and the editors; Katie Grand and Victoria Young.

The first page read: "Buttoned up to the chin, strapped up to the shoulder blades and done up to the nines... There's a strict discipline to the art of getting dressed."

It's all centred around the fetish trend for AW and I'm obsessed with it...

The next shoot was called What Lies Beneath and I want to include it as I loved the words at the start...

"The candle-buds opened their wide white flowers; their scent spilled out into the air and took possession of the island... Soft, romantic fashion with dangerous undercurrents in a hard-edged realm of fantasy."

This magazine is not to every ones taste due to the controversial nature of the photography but I admire the imagination and creativity that goes into it and the words, like poetry that go with it. I think anyone that reads this magazine will agree that it's like a work of art. But if you haven't read it before I hope this blog post has intrigued you to go and have a look at magazines like Love or to look at different types of photography that you may have not looked at before. It is different and it is original... and it has fascinated me!

Mert and Marcus Photography

Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott are incredible fashion photographers. They have worked with the likes of Gisele Bundchen, Victoria Beckham, Linda Evangelista, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Madonna. They have created campaigns for many designers and have worked with Vogue and LOVE magazine.

I love this show and hate the fact that it's only on once a week as it's slightly addictive! If you haven't seen it before basically the photographer Perou is taking a selection of photographs for his exhibition using a group of models he has chosen to feature in the images. My absolute favourite is BB..he has an incredible look and always looks amazing in photographs.

There are two more models that I also really like..Jesse and Charlotte

I think Charlotte came a very close runner up to BB for this shoot..

Somehow Charlotte pulls off this look...

Charlotte and BB - I love this photo but I think it would look so much better if Charlotte wasn't wearing socks and her hair doesn't look write..basically the stylist got this one wrong!

Jesse has an amazing face - such good skin and bone structure

Kurt Geiger shoes never fail to disappoint me. But they are quite expensive however, they have a line called Miss KG, it's quite small at the moment but there are some lovely shoes for all under £100..I particularly like these ones:

They're £80 and also come in black..

But if you can afford the extra bit of cash..these heels are £140 (also come in black)..they're a bit more sophisticated and probably a lot easier to walk in!

These monochrome beauties are so cute and bang on trend for AW (£140)..

And last but certainly not least..these KG shoe boots for £160..they come in black, grey and red..(these are definitely my fave!)

Lucy in Disguise

I have just watched this morning..and on their fashion bit today they were talking about vintage fashion. I didn't really like any of the outfits they had come up with..apart from one..which I love! It's stunning and would work amazingly for next seasons jewelled colours and if you look at my post below it's very similar to the dresses etc on the Gucci catwalk.

It's from Lucy in Disguise and it's £190. It also comes in black but the red looks much more expensive..

I would team it with gold accessories such as these from accessorize:

You could team this gold chain necklace with a pair of earrings..

Alternatively, as the neckline of the jumpsuit is quite open you could just wear a big, statement necklace:

A few items from the high street stores new collections that I like :)

Firstly this paperbag maxi skirt from River Island...It's right on trend with the sheer material.. this trend was seen on the AW catwalk shows of Givenchy and Gucci..

Givenchy:

Gucci was one of my favourite shows for AW.. lots of beautiful dresses in beautiful colours and the models looked stunning with sleek, side-parted hair, chiseled cheek bones and a dark red lip:

Next..a blazer from Zara. Zara's clothes are always made really well so it's the perfect place to get a blazer and it's definitely worth buying one as it's a key piece in a capsule wardrobe. It can be worn casually with a tee and skinny jeans or as a cover-up over a dress or it can be worn at work..but most importantly it's a key piece in next season as part of the androgyny trend.

Next some red wetlook jeans from Miss Selfridge which would work really well with the blazer above...

Finally, a little blouse from newlook which reminds me very much of the Valentino collection from SS..but don't worry it will still be on trend for next season as stars, polka dots and monochrome play a big part this AW..

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Style Crush

They are usually sat on the front row at top fashion shows, they have their own fashion line and they are truly iconic figures in the fashion industry at such a young age. And I love love love their style. I always think they look amazing they're always in fashion but add their own quirky edge to the latest trends.

Now these are the sunglasses that I wish I had..I have looked for high street versions but haven't found any that are quite the same so let me know if you know of any!

OH MY GOD. She looks incredible. Absolutely love what she's wearing and this look would be great for the fetish AW trend.

After purchasing my MK watch I have been browsing their website and they have some amazing clothes, handbags and other accessories. One thing I have completely fallen in love with is the matte jersey crystal bodysuit and agyness crepe pants. It creates a really flattering shape and would suit both smaller and larger busts. Also the streamlined vertical shapes in this outfit will elongate the body.. It's also a great colour for showing off your summery glow!

After thinking about how much I liked this outfit I then realised that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley had worn this to the Ed Sullivan Theatre in NY to make an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman. And as you can see she looks incredible!

Back Home..

Had an amazing two weeks in California. Stayed with family in Pleasanton and visited San Francisco, Pismo Beach, San Luis Obispo and Santa Cruz.

I managed to find a beautiful watch and amazingly it only took me 5 minutes to decide..must have been one of my quickest purchases! I bought it from a Michael Kors store for $320 (incl.tax)..rather pricey but well worth the money!

It's a rose gold watch which I preferred to the just gold watches as they have a warmer hue. The hands on the watch are also glow in the dark which I discovered when I got home! The watch also has a stopwatch on it and the watch contains an automatic winding movement which means the watch has no battery.

I also bought a cute little ring from a boutique in Pleasanton..it's very summery and goes perfectly with a pair of wedges that I have

Other than these two items..the rest of my purchases came from Victoria's Secret..one of my favourite American stores!

I bought some underwear..sweatpants and a sweater (they are so comfy from here!) I also bought a peach lipstick called scrumptious and their new VS body mist called Sheer Love with white cotton and pink Lily.

Off to California for 2 weeks so won't be blogging much..but I'll have plenty to blog about when I come back.. and hopefully some new clothes or accessories to show off :)

Just add a waistbelt..perhaps this obi belt from asos to add a bit more glamour..

And then I would add some gold accessories to finish it off..

Louis Vuitton's AW collection is just one example of the many gothic trends that hit the runway. Think leather, lace, and sheer inserts. Other designers working this look were Giles, Nicole Farhi, Lanvin and Marc Jacobs.

"We thought about fetishes and the way that people are crazy for Vuitton bags, clothes and shoes. Then we started to think about fetishes surrounding sex, discipline and bondage..." Marc Jacobs in Vogue.

Vuitton's show was really striking and Kate Moss closed the show..

Can't wait to get some of those hotpants on!

How amazing does she look?! She's wearing a Victoria Beckham dress, Charlotte Olympia leopard print heels and a Sondra Roberts clutch. I love leopard print and orange together anyway but the bright pink clutch creates a really good contrast and she's working the summer colour blocking trend beautifully..

How amazing did Elle look?! Loved what she was wearing she looked incredible..hardly surprising she's nicknamed 'The Body'. I thought Grace looked incredible as well but what on earth did Julien Macdonald look like?!

The castings were interesting to watch but I thought some of the girls they put through didn't really look like models.. But some of them had definitely been practising their walks and looked pretty fierce up there!

Looking forward to the next one :)

Christian Dior Couture Show AW'11-12

BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL! This couture collection is absolutely stunning. The pieces are feminine without being sickly sweet. The graphic prints contrast beautifully against the pastel colours. And towards the end of the show the light folds of chiffon created sensual movement down the catwalk and added a whole lot of glamour to the show. The styling was beautiful as well - the models looked glamorous and their alluring beauty was captivating. Amazing!

benefit cosmetics are expensive but well worth the money..they also last along time! The high beam highlighter is really good and perfect for enhancing cheek bones..and although the pot doesn't seem that generous for the price you're paying..mine has actually lasted ages!

The perfect compliment to this is the DALLAS bronzer..it costs £23.50 but it really is a perfect shade (not too orangey) but gives a deep glow and has a light shimmer to it. Apply it just under the cheek bones starting from the ear and brushing towards the corner of your mouth - this way the darkest area is right underneath the top of the cheekbone which makes them look more defined. I also apply a little bit either side of my nose and on my chin to give a bronzed effect..as this is where the sun would naturally hit your face. An easy way to remember it is in the shape of a 3 down each the side of your face.
