Working on some new things. I am trying to expand my shop a bit and offer some "new items". My problem is that I am so picky about the pictures that I usually dont put them up until I get pictures back from my photography. But then that could take sometime so I thought I would put them up anyways. I just feel that it makes my store look so unfinished and not right. But maybe that is me. What d you usually do when you make something new? Do you post it or do you wait for "professional" pictures. My camera and knowledge on how to take pictures is not good enough to get good quality pictures for a good looking shop at all time.. Help is it just me or should I wait and not post them yet.

Here is a preview of what I have added. A new double pom pom hat, a caterpillar cocoon and a newsboy and diaper cover set.

Peanut Butter and Jelly

Who does not love a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I know that it has always been one of my favorites. Well I am always trying to think of ways to make up creative and cute stuff for twins and this is what came to mind. I even made a red one for the Jelly too. I could not decide between grape or strawberry. I have not been around blogging in a long time. Kids, family, work, sports and my store have kept me away. Make It a Cupcake Monday

I have a love for baking and I found a blog called Confessions of a Cookbook Queen .

She has endless numbers of different Cupcake recipes. The good thing about cupcakes when you have 7 kids is they are easy to give out as dessert. So I thought that On Monday's my day I dont usually work that I would try a recipe of hers. Today I tried the Peanut Butter Cheesecake Cupcake. I made a few changes when I made mine but pretty much followed it perfectly. The recipe was so easy to follow and I am going to love trying them. The steps were easy too...1. Bake the cupcakes 2. cut the hole in the center 3. make the cheesecake filling. 4 fill the cupcakes 5. top with crumble and mini reeses. So simple and so yummy. Something NEW and Unique

I got this pattern from the Inner Hooker and just love it. I am always looking for something unique for my shop and this is nothing like what I have seen really before. This Bee hat goes on the babies head and then the Bee bottom goes right on their "bottom". So cute even with a stinger. I am just in love with it and cant wait to get it photographed. It's called Bee Hat and Tush Topper. I already have in my head some other things you can do like maybe a Zebra, a bird with feathers on the tail. What do you think can be done with this one? Love to hear your comment.

I have been gone so long that I dont even know where to start. I am sorry to any fans that have missed me. I got busy with work and I have been working on some great things for my Etsy Shop... If you have not been by in awhile stop by and see what is new. I have a few pictures here to show you some of the things. I have so many new things in the works, I am even starting on Halloween, Fall and Christmas. I have been working hard and not really having much time for anything else, but I miss blogging. So I will make a promise to get back into it at least a few times a week. I am even over 1000 fans on my Facebook Page, when I get to 1500 HUGE giveaway in the works. Would you like to be a vendor?? I do Adore these Hooded Baby Cocoons and when I saw this yarn I just had to make one. Now that I see it all together and a beautiful baby in it. I think that we work so hard and try our best to create something out of love and put our all in it. I know when I crochet I have spent many nights taking things apart and starting all over because maybe one stitch is not right. I always put 150 percent into anything I do and that includes my crafts. My thinking is that I would not make something that I would not use on my own baby or child. With that said that is how I feel Sarah from Sarah Crank Photography works. She did the most amazing job on these pictures and she put her all in them as I would put my all in the products she used. I could not have asked for anything better and I am in amazement every time I look at them. Thank you so much Sarah. I look forward to working with you again!!

Another day of some wonderful pictures that I just cant stop looking at. I decided to try out a Mini Blanket Photo Prop and it just turned out adorable. I just love it and I made it out of some fluffy yarn so that it would look nice and fluffy and textured in the pictures. It works up nice and thick and makes a good padding to lay the baby on if you are just using a flat service. It is good to put in a prop like a bowl or basket. It is always good to use to swaddle the baby with. The blanket is 20 inches by 20 inches and a perfect size to be used in various ways. I am just so happy how it turned out and cant think of anything I would change about it. I think it would even look good in some other types of yarns too. What do you think? Been a Good Day!

I have had such a good day today, actually a pretty good week. Monday was my day off and I spent the whole day away from the computer. I even went to play bingo with my husband and some friends. Something I have not done in a long time. Tuesday I did laundry and cleaned and finished up some orders that I got out today. Today I woke up to a busy day. Did my first class of Yoga, signed up my 4 year old for her first dance classes that start tomorrow. Ran some errands, had some yummy mexican food for lunch with my husband, took a nap, and when I woke up from my nap I had some really good surprises. I had these new pictures that Casey From Chasing Lilies Photography did for me of my New Owl Hats. I just love the job she did and she sent me tons of pictures. Another one of my surprises was another adorable hat that I made for Amber from Cross My Heart Designs . I didnt even know that she was sending me them. Her daughter is so adorable and the pictures turned out just perfect. I love this NEW Beanie with Loopy Flower in such bright spring colors.

So today started out well and my

t much better. I am so excited because tomorrow is another tentative photo shoot from another wonderful photographer and I cant wait to see what she comes up with. Thank you so much to Both Casey and Amber. I look forward to working with you further and seeing more of your beautiful work.

I am hoping for the rest of the week to go so well and keeping my spirits high and my thoughts positive. Summer is

right around the corner and I am really looking forward to spending some time with the kids and creating some really cute stuff. Even working up a flyer and putting it in some Boutiques around my city. A week ago I was going to give up, today I am not so sure.

Hi, sorry I have been missing in action lately. I have been working on some new ideas, and a new Etsy Store with my mom called Two Generation Designs along with my This-n-That Boutique Etsy Store. Our store has some really cute bow holders and some really cute wooden signs and teacher signs. Together we are working on creating a store that has more then just the photo props that I have been focusing on. I do enjoy working with my mother. I have been watching her craft since I was a kid and she taught me so much about color and I guess I picked up a thing or two a long the way. In the meantime while we build up that store I am still working on building up my store. I LOVE the way that the pictures are turning out and I love the way that things are working for me. I am finally getting sales and getting them worked up and shipped out. I am so excited to get some new things that I have found along the way that I want to try and hope that I can build up my fan base on my Facebook Fan Page. I have so many ideas in my head and so many new things to make up.. first got to finish up my orders and get those out. Then on to the new stuff. Thank you to Crystal from Crystal Bright Photography for the beautiful picture.

Things have been crazy in my house on a personal level. Spring break was busy and I didnt have much extra free time. I worked 60 hours a week, crocheted a ton, and spent the rest of the time with the kids, housework, laundry, and well I have to say that I love when the kids are home, but I do like the time of the day when I clean the house once and it stays that way for at least 6 hours while they are in school. I hope I am not the only one that feels that way. I have learned a few things about my self the past few weeks, and I have had to over come some heartache and some sadness. But the excitement of my Etsy store doing okay is picking up my spirits a bit and making me focus on the positive and things that are good. not the negative and things that are bad. I am now looking into creating a flyer with some of the amazing pictures that my photographers have made up for me and taking those to local stores and boutiques. Have you ever done that? How is your Spring Break?

Okay well I have been waiting to share this one with you. I have so many ideas in my head and they are just swimming around. Work and kids get in the way sometimes of my creative time, but I am trying to come up with some great things to share and this cute little hat is one of them. This is the NEW Crochet Dino Hat with a Tail in Newborn. The colors for this one are Denim Blue and Olive Green Spikes. I just love it and I have so many other things that I am thinking about. I can already picture this in so many colors. Thank you again to Amanda and Amanda Thompson Photography for the beautiful picture.

So it is Spring Break this week for half my kids, the other half go next week and so there is a week of some kids in school and some not. That can be crazy. I thought that it would be good so that I can get much more done while they are on break, but then again now I have more messes to clean and more meals to make during the day. It think I was crazy to think I would have more time not less. That is okay because they at least are entertaining my 4 year old enough to make her want to go to bed at night at a decent hour. I cant believe the school year is going by so fast. Where is the time going? What are you doing on your Spring Break?

I had to share this picture from a happy customer and it just excites me so much to see my items in action. This baby is Genesee and she is 8 months and her mom bought the Flower Diaper Cover set with Matching Headband and LOVED it. I have been working hard to bring people to my Etsy Store and trying to work on new projects and new items every day. With the kids on Spring Break the next two weeks I am very excited to get some orders finished up and start on some new things that I have never done before. I have made up a few things that are off to the photographers this week that I will share when I get pictures. Kelly from Kelly Ross Photography has done some beautiful work on my other items I know she will produce wonderful pictures again. I have some other new items that I sent to Amanda from Amanda Thompson Photography and cant wait to see the pictures when she gets them done. Juggling working full time, kids, house, and my crochet work picking up has left me with less blogging time, but I promise to work on things more and get here more to blog. With 7 kids and a full house, you would think I have plenty to say. My 4 year old is starting dance this month and I am so excited for her, she needs the interaction with other kids her age. Summer is coming and I have so many plans for daytime fun with the kids. I cant wait for it to heat up. Now I just have to get my butt back to the gym and get ready myself. How do you handle a busy schedule? Any tips on better time management for me? Have a great Sunday.

Started off bad... Ending on a better note

Yes I am talking about my week. I have been working from home for about 4 years now and so I got a new laptop about 3 years ago so that I could have a reliable computer and not have to worry I paid good money from it. I got it from Alienware which is meant for gaming but I wanted the space and the speed. Well about a year ago it was running really slow so someone told me to back everything up and re-install windows. It was pretty simple to do. On Tuesday, that is my Monday I loaded up my computer to begin work and nothing. I could get on the internet and that was it. Then It would not even boot up. I was so upset and so frustrated. I had a friend just tell me she got a virus and it did the same thing. I was completely lost. I had to re-install windows all over again this time with no backup. I lost all documents, pictures, and anything that I had not saved in an email or some pictures that I have uploaded to Facebook. Just was not a good start to my week since I work from home full time and my crochet life is on my computer. Every pattern I own is on there. I could not work and I could not crochet from patterns. But the week started to get a little better when I got some new pictures.. The first was from Kelly at Kelly Ross Photography. She did such an amazing job on the Hello Kitty hat picture. That is her sweet daughter that would not give it up once she hat it on. The second picture was one that I was not even expecting. Amanda from Amanda Thompson Photography sent me this one of my favorite Elf hat with Pom Pom. So the week did get better and today I sold two things in one day. That is a first for me and I am loving my Flower Diaper Cover and headband set. It is selling so well and I am looking forward to getting some different colors worked up and photographed. And the last good thing for the week is that Jeannette from Crafty Hippo Designs featured my Etsy store on her blog. This was a complete surprise. I was not even expecting it and she just sent me an email to let me know. You should check out her blog. It is very cute and she has advertising space available too. I want to have my project list done before Spring Break so that I can spend some time with the kids. Wish me luck, and have a great weekend.

Not to much creating this week, I just have been busy doing other things around the house and well for some reason work, kids, and life have taken up all my time to create. I am looking forward to the weekend to come up with some wonderful new props and hats to share. I thought I would share this beautiful picture of my Crochet Flower Diaper Cover and matching Headband by Tam Magdaleno. I do love her work it is just beautiful. I think that the picture brings the set to life and I cant stop looking at it. LOL I will be making more of this set in pink, yellow, and what other color would you like to see? I just adore it and I cant wait to get some more done this weekend, or well maybe next week. I know that Breast Cancer Awareness month is not until October but my sister and my second cousin are walking in the 3 day this year in November. So they asked me to come up with a beanie to wear while training in the cold morning and when the walk comes. I added it to my Etsy Store for others that may be interested since I had some other ask when I posted it on my Facebook Page. This is what I ended up with. I am trying the adult size on my daughter so it is a little big. But other then that what do you think?

I have been trying to work on something every day as a theme. I did Monkey hats and made 3 then today I decided I would do 3 Hello Kitty Hats. Normally I just do the no Ear Flap because I think they are so cute for the older girls but I decided to try with ear flaps. I am going to add the ear flap one to my Etsy store because I got a lot of people saying they liked that one. I am Sooooo excited to get these off to the photographers to see how they turn out. I am really getting excited about my business. I was even accepted for a HUGE craft show and that was just amazing to me since I have always thought my items were so over populated how can I stand out. Have you ever felt that way? Have you wondered how you will make a name for yourself?

Daily Personal note, Today was St Patrick's day and well in my house we make Corned Beef and Cabbage and it is a tradition. Tonight we were supposed to have friends over so they backed out but my husband cooked 2 crockpots full, 2 on the stove top and 2 in the oven. That is 6 corned beef. OMG it was so yummy but you can only eat so much. Even us as a family of 9 sharing with the Great Dane cant eat that much. So I have been going over ideas in my head of ways to use the left overs. Happy Wednesday, I have been busy with fast fingers working on some new hats and some things for some new photographers. I LOVE the monkey hat it is one of my favorites, and wait until you see this Jester curls hat on a baby. They are so cute. I cant wait until I get them to the photographers and get pictures back. I have so many more to make and just cant wait to share them with you.

On a personal note, my 4 year old is growing up so fast. She learned how to put the Just Dance 2 in the Wii all by herself and just dances for hours and is not that bad. Now she has something to do while mommy works and crochets. hehe Have a great Wednesday.

Okay there are not enough days in the week or hours in the day. I almost dont even like sharing my next finished project until I have a professional picture to share but I cant wait. I have so many things that I want to create and share. I have met some wonderful photographers this week and I will be getting things out to them asap. I cant wait to share more things that I have made and after this weekend I am finally excited about my business and how it is slowly growing. I am proud to share the pictures that I have gotten back so far and I am proud to share my work now that I have seen it put to good use. I LOVE to crochet and it calms me and reminds me of my grandma. Sometimes when I am stuck on a pattern I think of her and wish I could call her and have her help me out. Instead I have to take it apart and start over, but because of her teaching me all those years ago I keep moving forward. I wont mention how many years ago dont want to give away my age. Welcome to all my new followers and thank you for the wonderful comments, keep checking back I will be adding new things hopefully every other day if not daily.

On a personal non business mom side, why is my 4 year old afraid to go potty? She is never going to grow out of this and we will be missing pre-school. Well that is how I feel. I have tried everything. Any suggestions.

Happy Saturday. I got another photo back from a photographer that I am working with to get some photos of my crochet work done for my Etsy Shop. I have contacted some great photographers and look forward to working with them all. Tam Magdaleno right here in San Diego did such a beautiful job on this photo. Every time I look at it I think my hard work is so well worth it. I just loved this Ruffle Diaper Cover and Headband but it didnt really come alive for me until I saw this picture. It just melts my heart to see how beautiful the baby looks. So sweet and peaceful. Thank you Tam for your wonderful work! Happy Saturday.

Overwhelmed with emotions

I dont even know where to begin. I am just so overwhelmed with emotions that I dont know what to say really. I have been working on some hats and props for photographers for a little over a week almost two weeks now and shipped and dropped some stuff off. Today I got the first picture back from one of the photographers and I am SO happy. Amanda at Amanda Thompson Photography did such a good job with my Bunny Hat Photo Prop. I have been crocheting for years and I have been trying to turn my love fro crochet into a business for I cant even tell you how long. This year I told myself I was going to jump in 100% and go for it. I was told to work on my pictures and I am so happy to all of those that shared that with me. I know its just one picture but I look at it and think wow I actually made that hat. It looks so much better on a real model with a professional picture then when I crochet it and lay it on my table and take a picture with my camera phone. It makes me feel proud of my work. I cant even express how excited I am and how I want to share this picture with everyone and even though I have lots more work to do and well still have to make a sell. This is a first step and I want to make up a sample of every hat and photo prop I make and ship them to any photographer that will have me and get all my stuff photographed this way. Thank you to all those that have put up with my rants and raves this week. I am feeling good right now and I just want to get some more stuff done. Work comes first but I hope to have another box or two out to photographers next week. I am working with some great ones and look forward to sharing more of their work and mine with you. Few new items, diaper covers and loving them

Been working on some more items for some photographers. I worked on the ruffle one forever it seemed I could not get it the way I wanted it to look. Dont you just hate when you do something over and over and your just not happy with it? I still have to add these things to my Etsy store, but for now they are in the photographers hands and tomorrow is the shoot. I am so excited to see pictures. I think this hard work is going to pay off, but right now my eyes and fingers are saying other wise. I am networking and meeting lots of others that are so wonderful and some of my readers and new followers have left some really good comments. I have enjoyed reading them all. I saw a picture today that was of a baby in one of my hats and I have to say that it does make a HUGE difference when you see your work on a baby and not laying flat on a table. I will post some pictures when I get some back. I cant wait for your feedback on my diaper covers. I always look forward to it.

So this is not the best picture, but my 4 yr old has always been my model for my hats. I just make all my stuff big enough to fit her. Well this past week I have been working on Newborn and baby items for some photographers to use as photo props and she has been saying all week "mom that is too small to fit my head" So last night while I was watching TV with my husband I thought of this Earflap hat that reminds me of spring or an easter egg with its spring colored stripes. She was so happy to try it on for me before she went to bed. I was not sure if it came out like I visioned it, but she just loves it. Happy Monday

Spring is just around the corner and I love to have my favorite treat. Fruit with the easiest light and fluffy dip ever. I remember years ago my sister brought it to a family get together and I loved it and have always used it for summer time parties and baby showers. Anything that is in the spring that requires you to bring something. It is so easy and the recipe is on Food.com, but you dont really need one. You just put one package of 8 oz Cream cheese and a jar of Marshmallow cream and whip that up together and you are done. Cut up some fruit, really any fruit will do. I like to use apples or melons. I put it on a fancy plate and the dip in a bowl and refrigerate until ready to serve. Easy and so YUMMY. Enjoy.

A week ago I wrote a post about being angry with myself and feeling down about things going not so well with my work. It has been a week and I took some advice of some of the wonderful woman that posted comments on my post. Or at least I think that I did lol. I tried to work on my Etsy Store and make some changes. Not sure if the changes were good ones, but I am working on it. I got in contact with a few photographers and I am so excited to work with a few that I have already sent my first set of props off to Amanda Thompson Photography. She has some newborn shoots next week so I am so excited to see the pictures. I am working on my next few samples for a local photographer and cant wait to get those off to her as well. I will keep you posted on when I do that and what happens. I also had my first order ever off my Facebook Page. That is very exciting for me. I made her two hats that I will post here for you to see. They are both new patterns for me one is a Flapper hat with scalloped edging and the other is a very cute Monkey Earflap hat. SO things are looking up and I wanted say thank you to all of my wonderful readers that made comments and suggestions. I look forward to another productive week and please if you read last week and you notice any changes or suggestions are always welcome.
