Audi SQ5 Is First Ever Diesel ‘S’ Model

Performance SUVs is becoming the in-thing. In reply to BMW, Audi has come up with the new SQ5 TDI – a sporty model with a diesel engine. This latest model sports a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 diesel delivering 308 HP and 650 Nm of torque between 1,450 and 2,800 rpm. Audi claims that the SQ5 TDI can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and top out at 250 km/h, while returning an average fuel consumption of 7.2 liters/100 km. Isn’t it WOW!
Chassis improvements over the regular Audi Q5 models, renders a re-tuned electromechanical power steering and a sports suspension that lowers the vehicle body by 30mm. The new Audi SQ5 TDI rides on 20-inch alloy wheels fitted with 255/45 tires. Equipped with a new styling kit that includes a platinum gray single-frame grille with an aluminum-look trim for the bars, the roof spoiler, window surrounds, mirrors and modified bumpers, its style quotient speaks for its own. Likewise, the interiors have been well taken care of too. The cabin features power-adjustable sport seats in Pearl Nappa leather/Alcantara, brushed aluminum inlays, gray instrument dials with white needles, and S-spec steering wheel, gear lever knob and decorative trim.
The Audi SQ5 TDI is stated to roll into Audi’s European dealerships in the first quarter of the coming year with prices starting at €58,500 (approx. Rs. 41 lakhs). However the diesel models entry in USA is still kept under suspense. This diesel powered Audi will definitely be one of things to look forward to in 2013, but we can only expect it to hit Indian shores in 2014, with a price of around Rs. 70 lakhs.

Hi, I am Aakarsh Chandel from Lucknow and I am a student.
When and how did your love for cars/bikes or both start?
Well, ever since my childhood, bikes and cars interested me.
Which car/bike do you currently own?
Currently I own a YAMAHA FZ-S and I am in love with her.

When did you buy your car/bike?
I bought my bike in March, last year.
What made you buy this particular car/bike?
It is the looks, specifications, suspensions; well the list would just go on and on.I just can’t take my eyes off my bike.
How many Kms have you done? How many do you do every day?
Till date I have clocked in 23000 kms. On a daily basis, I ride> 30-40 Km on an average.
What do you love the most about your car/bike?
Obviously, it is my bike’s suspension.

What you don’t like about your car/bike?
There can be nothing I can hate about her.
Will you trade your car/bike for any other vehicle? If yes, which one?
I have not thought about it yet.
What is the longest you drove/rode your car/bike and where?
The longest I drove was when I went on an awesome trip from Lucknow to Delhi.
What is the fastest speed you have achieved on your car/bike?
120 Kmph.

What mileage does your vehicle give you?
It gives around 35 Kmpl.
What is the nastiest thing you have done in your vehicle?
Nothing till now.
What modifications have you done to your vehicle and what do you plan to do in the future?
I fixed a projector headlight with hid kit and used a K&N filter. I gifted her Pirelli rear tire on her birthday.
Why is your car/bike so special to you?
It is because she is there for me whenever I need her.

My dream car is the Mercedes SLK 350.

Tell us about yourself. Who you are? What you do?
Hi, I am Shalson from Chennai. I work in an ITES firm as a Senior Human Resource Manager.
When and how did your love for cars/bikes or both start?
I had a passion for Cars and Bikes right from my childhood.
Which car/bike do you currently own?
I currently own Pulsar 180 (2010 Model) and Ford Escort.

When did you buy your car/bike?
I bought my car in the year 2009 and a year later, the bike.
What made you buy this particular car/bike?
My love for speed is the reason for my passion towards Pulsar 180 and my particular liking for sedans is the reason for buying Ford Escort.
How many kms have you done? How many do you do everyday?
Till date, I covered more than 26000 km. On an average, I travel 24 km everyday.

What do you love the most about your car/bike?
I would say, it is the Speed and the Style. It’s my personal belief that a bond gets created between a man and his machine.
What you don’t like about your car/bike?
I love my car and bike.
Will you trade your car/bike for any other vehicle? If yes, which one?
No, I would never do that.
What is the longest you drove/rode your car/bike and where?
In April 2010, I rode from Coimbatore to Chennai on my Pulsar 180, all alone, covering a distance of 534 kms and it took me seven and a half hours to reach Chennai.

What is the fastest speed you have achieved on your car/bike?
The top speed on my bike was 128 km/h, and on my car, it was 140 km/h.
What mileage does your vehicle give you?
My pulsar gives 35-40 km/l and Ford gives 10-12 km/l.
What is the nastiest thing you have done in your vehicle?
Well, it’s a long list. Free ride, stoppie, burnouts, drifting are few of them.
What modifications have you done to your vehicle and what do you plan to do in the future?
Recently, I added R15 frame to my Pulsar 180 and it turned out be a great looker. Also I have plans to switch to mono shocks and rear disc brakes.

Why is your car/bike so special to you?
They are special to me because they are not just machines. They are my riding partners who help me reach my goal successfully.
Which is your dream car/bike?
My dream Bike: Yamaha R1. My dream Car: Lamborghini Aventador.
Which car/bike sold in India is your current favourite?
Favorite Bike – Honda CBR. Favorite Car – Audi (all the versions)

When i was in class 8 i came across some automotive magazines .i was facinated by the beasts and the beauties shown in it.i started buying those magazines and got in love with bikes and cars.

Which car/bike do you currently own?
i own a pulsar 220 dtsfi
When did you buy your car/bike?
the day it was launched i booked it and got it some days later. but before everyone to make that bike the first in the town
What made you buy this particular car/bike?
i was in love with the looks when i saw it for the first time in auto expo.i waited for this bike for a year and half to get my hands on it since it took some time to be launched

How many kms have you done? How many do you do everyday?
i dont live at my hometown coz i am doing my higher studies in bangalore.still i have driven it for 23000 kms in these two years.on average when i am at my place i drive it for 75 odd kms everyday
What do you love the most about your car/bike?
everything..it has evrything to continue my love for it and make every bypasses to stare at me with admiration.

What you don’t like about your car/bike?
it should have been black in colour. it has no other flaws so i dont get to curse my bike when my friends point out flaws in their bikes

i drove for 230 kms on a single day when i went to kullu and came back.

as i live in a hilly area.himachal and sundernagar(mandi) to be more specific.the roads are so curvy that you cant really go near the limits of your bike.so the fastest i have driven on my bike is 115 kms/hr

ever really watched that .but i guess around 45 km/lt

willies.burn outs…you name it i ll do it

Care For Your Bike During Monsoons

“Monsoons are here. Roads are wet. It’s time for some fun. So let’s get set.”
Let’s get set, to feel the rains splashing against us. It’s time to take out our bikes and drive on those lovely roads amongst the green woods. After reading this, I am sure half of you would have reached your garage with your helmets. Hold on.
There is something your bike wants to say. Its raining outside and she needs some care and protection. So let’s hear what she says.
Before you take me out for a ride, there are three things you have to keep in mind.
1) Pre-Drive Precautions
2) During-the-drive Precautions
3) Post-Drive Care
Let’s look at them one by one.
Pre-Drive Precautions
First things first, ensure that you get me serviced from the authorized service centre. Because during the rains, it would be really disastrous if I break down somewhere half the way. I should be fit and all my parts should be in good condition especially the brakes and the tires.

While driving on wet roads, one cannot brake suddenly. Thus the brakes should function smoothly. The liners, discs and interiors of the drum brakes should be cleaned and the level of the brake oil should be maintained.

The tires must be checked and if you feel they have worn out then please get them replaced before taking me out. Also the tire pressure should be maintained at few psi less than that required under dry conditions. Use a good anti-rust lubricant to prevent my parts from rusting. Now that you have ensured I am fit and fine let us move on to the next one.
During-the-drive Precautions
Always wear your safety gears. A helmet and knee pads are a must and a waterproof jacket and gloves are without doubt needed. A completely drenched driver can lose out on concentration and this could lead to accidents. Do not ride very fast because you never know where the road might turn slippery. Do not brake abruptly as again there are chances of skidding. And obviously do not take turns at high speeds. I know you know all of these, but a girl friends always keeps reminding you of the things you tend to not follow in real situations.

Post-Drive Care
The drive is over and we are back to our garage. Do not just leave me like that. Just like how you need a shower now, I need one too. Wash me completely and then oil and grease my parts to prevent them from rusting. Focus more on the nooks and corners where dust tends to accumulate easily. And most importantly lubricate the chain.
So easy to maintain me isn’t it? Easier than maintaining a girl friend I suppose. So let’s get ready for a looooooog drive in this rain.

Hi Riders, I am Udaya Krishnan from Jaipur pursuing my M.B.A.
When and how did your love for bikes start?
Bullet was my father’s dream bike; he was not able to get the feel of his dream bike until I got this beast at home, this year on 26th January. Now my father and I enjoy the ride on this beast as people just watch us ride.
Which bike do you currently own?
I own Royal Enfield Electra 2005 model, 5 speed, cast iron engine.
When did you buy your bike?
I got my love this year on 26th January. I had to take a lot of pain and I am still suffering but what is that gain which is without a pain.
What made you buy this particular bike?
As such there is nothing which can make RE (Royal Enfield) lover to buy any other machine, it is for sure that RE lover would just buy and would ride a Bullet, but to be specific the masculinity, the weight due to which you have the best control and the metal and last but not the least thing which is unique- THE THUMP appeals me the most.

How many kms have you done? How many do you do every day?
When I bought my bike, Bullet had done 8,000Kms and now I have spun it to 14000 kms. I daily ride up to 20- 25kms.
What do you love the most about your bike?\
I would rather ask the riders, can anyone hate a Royal Enfield. The answer is clear there is nothing.
What you don’t like about your bike?
It’s really hard to sneak into my home or even my colony with my love my Bullet.
Will you trade your bike for any other vehicle?
Never Ever!!!!!!
What is the longest you rode your bike and where?
The longest route I have covered with my beast is from Jaipur to Ajmer and back.
What is the fastest speed you have achieved on your bike?
Hahahah…. This one is a funny question for a Royal Enfield rider; this machine will give you more pleasure if you ride it at a speed of 30-40Km/h, because this is for sure that if you are on Royal Enfield, girls will watch you but to enjoy those looks you’ll have to ride a Bullet. While going on highways I took it to 90km/h.
What mileage does your vehicle give you?
Unbelievable but it is true- 38-40 km/l.

What is the nastiest thing you have done in your vehicle?
I do that almost every day, taking my bike in front of the girl’s college with thundering thump.
What modifications have you done to your vehicle and what do you plan to do in the future?
I have tied ropes to the leg guards which is not usual in Bullets but I love it. In addition to it I have replaced the silencer and now bike has got a bigger silencer (Ganganagar Dholki name is the name of the silencer). Now I am planning to change the wheels to alloys.
Why is your bike so special to you?
I made my dad’s dream come true.
Which is your dream car?
Hummer.
Which car/bike sold in India is your current favorite?
Car would be Mahindra’s XUV500 and Bike is Royal Enfield.

Skoda Yeti 4×2 Test Drive Review

Size matter when it comes to SUV’s and we Indians love it large, but good things are said to come in small packages. Dont be fooled by its size, it may not look big as some of its competitors, but Skoda’s Yeti this a a mighty capable machine. The Yeti was perceived to be an expensive SUV based on size alone and most of SUV buyers don’t even get close to trying out the offroad ability of their vehicles. This prompted Skoda to come out with a more affordable, toned down SUV which is ideal for the urban jungle. We take for a drive and find how different it is compared to its 4×4 counterpart.

The 4×2 Version is available in two trims, Active and Ambition. The dimensions are absolutely identical to the 4×4 version and the exteriors are devoid of the 4×4 badge at the rear, there is no 4×2 badge either. The differentiating factor from the outside is the new 5 spoke alloys as compared to the 7 spoke in the all wheel drive version.

The front wheel drive configurations has led to some amount of weight loss. The 4×2 version weighs 98 kg less and stops the weighing scale at 1445 kilograms. Fuel tank is now smaller too, by 5 litres to be precise and the total fuel tank capacity is down to 55 litres. Skoda has retained essential features such as ESP, Hill Hold Control and Vario Flex in this version.

Whats goes missing is side airbags, front parking sensors, automatic climate control, dual zone air conditioning, touch screen audio system, SD/MMC card reader and features used in a 4×4 such as hill descent control, drive-off assistant, off-road ABS, off-road ASR, off-road TCS and off-road EDL (electronic differential lock). Even the horn echos the effects of cost cutting, its does not sound the same anymore.

Skoda has detuned the engine and it now produces 110 bhp at 4200 rpm and and a torque of 250 Nm between 1500 – 2500 rpm. Mated to this is a five speed gearbox with well spaced out ratios for both city and highway runs. Mind you, even 110 Bhp of power is sufficiently adequate for routine city and highway driving. Only flat out acceleration will indicate the tuned down nature of the engine, otherwise everything is well sorted. Engine performance is good throughout the rev band and does not shy away from hitting the red line. Doing so NVH and refinement is spot on. The Yeti 4×2 stops the clock at 11.93 seconds on a 0 – 100 dash, which is only marginally slower than its all wheel drive sibling. Fuel efficiency is slightly better dues to lesser weight and a sober engine. High speed stability and braking deserve a special mention. You can comfortable hit 160 on the highways without the engine exhibiting obvious strain.

The Yeti 4×2 is built for a purpose and it fulfills it with flying colours. It not only excels in terms of built quality, comfort and space but also delivers good performance with class leading ARAI fuel efficiency figures. Since this SUV is mainly targeted for city use, Skoda could have nailed it by offering the automatic DSG gearbox. Automatic cars are favorites in this segment and customers usually dont fret over spending a few extra bucks. Leaving that aside, the Yeti 4×2 is a superb option for those looking for a quality SUV at an affordable price.

The luxury car segment is seeing increase in sales in-spite of the decline in overall car sales in India. Clearly more people are buying bigger cars and hence luxury car makers are offering their very best in the country. Today the luxury car scene is dominated by the German trio but all this is set to change as non-German luxury car makers enter this arena. One such company is Jaguar, which is armed with stunning looking vehicles offering stupendous performance. But does the Jaguar XF hold a candle to the Germans? This is something we find out by driving the Jaguar XF Diesel Sports.

The XF is the hottest looking car in its segment.

Exteriors – The Jaguar XF is a looker from every angle you look at it. The car has received many awards for its styling alone and there is no doubt that she looks stunning. The 2012 Jaguar XF adopts the new Jaguar design language which we first saw on the XJ. The XF looks muscular and attracts alot of attention. The day time running LED lights are arranged in signature J-Blade pattern. The headlamps feature bi-Xenon HID function and Jaguar has very cleverly used chrome on the body.
When viewed from the side, the Jaguar XF reveals its new triangular side vents which are placed right below the chrome Jaguar badge. The chrome treatment continues around the windows as well and the XF features one of the most stunning alloy wheel designs we have seen in a luxury saloon. The rear features new tail lights which extend till the central portion of the boot lid. The tail lights incorporate full-LEDs and the generous use of chrome can’t be missed. The lower part of the rear bumper is finished in gloss black and features twin exhausts. The boot-lid happily sports the S moniker.
The styling is spot-on and Jaguar has created a car which will appeal to everyone. The design is attractive and dramatic, something very few can miss on the roads. The XF looks so good that many would end up buying it just for the way it looks.

DSK Motowheels is launching its very first motorcycle in India today, the Hyosung GT250R. The event is taking place at Nariman Point in Mumbai and we are bringing you live updates from the launch. All the details of the Hyosung GT250R are already out with the pricing the only thing unknown. When we went to test the GT250R in Pune, the showroom guys told us that a Rs. 2.5 lakhs price is quite likely. With DSK taking over Garware stakes, could the pricing be more aggressive? The Hyosung GT250R is priced at Rs. 2.75 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). DSK Motowheels is expecting to sell 3000 units a year and feels the GT250R is the talk of the town. The company also calls it a tornado on 2-wheels and all 18 showrooms will have it on display within 5 days. DSK feels Hyosung has been recongnized in India alot and they have sold more than 600 units of their 600cc bikes. The Hyosung GT250R produces 27.6 BHP of peak power at 10,000 RPM and 22.07 Nm of peak torque at 8000 RPM. Top speed is 140 km/h and the Hyosung GT250R is available in three colours – white and red, black and red, silver and red.
DSK Motowheels will launch another motorcycle in September, the GV650, which will have a top speed of 220 km/h. The GV250 cruiser would be launched between December 2012 and February 2013. With these bikes pricing would be key as the competition is intense. Meanwhile the GT250R is being positioned as a life style product. Shirish Kulkarni says that the GT250R is a weekend bike and not a daily commuter, there is no brand ambassador as the bike is a star itself. In 18 months, DSK will start making parts locally which will result in competitive pricing. Currently rate of import duty is around 24 percent, while import excluding excise is 10 percent.

Yamaha Ray Scooter Spied On Test

Yamaha India has focused all its attention to motorcycles in India. However the Japanese automaker also has a good line-up of scooter abroad and the company has finally decided to bring one of them to India. The Yamaha Ray scooter, which was unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo is set to hit our roads by October and the company has already started testing it. The Ray scooter will be targeted towards females and is extremely stylish. Yamaha has not disclosed anything about the mechanicals of the Ray Scooter yet.
The Yamaha Ray will be powered by a 125cc single-cylinder engine, which is expected to produce around 10 HP of power. The Ray will have excellent quality and good fuel economy. Expected to be available in two variants, Yamaha will offer disc brakes on the higher variant. Yamaha will be producing the Ray scooter at its Surajpur plant in Uttar Pradesh and has also expended capacity for the same. The company recently acquired land in Tamil Nadu to put up a new plant, as it sees volumes increasing in the Indian market.
The Japanese motorcycle maker is expected to price the Yamaha Ray scooter at a price of around Rs. 50,000/-. The Ray will compete with the Honda Activa, Suzuki Access, Suzuki Swish and Mahindra Rodeo. While the Ray will not compete with Piaggio’s Vespa directly, it can give the Italian scooter a run for its money with its stunning design. It remains to be seen how the market responds to Yamaha scooters. If the company sees good demand, they could also bring in more scooters, including a much more powerful one.

Australian New Car Assessment program (ANCAP) has given the seven-seater SUV, Mahindra XUV500 a safety rating of four-stars. This was despite a number of disappointing measurements in the local crash test. However, Indian-built mid-sized SUV was expecting a rating of five-star. This rating will now put the Mahindra Australia’s first passenger vehicle at par with other well known SUV brands like the Jeep Compass, Grand Cherokee, the Mini Countryman and its own potential competitor, Great Wall X200/X240, a Chinese built SUV.

The Australasian New Car Assessment Program provides consumers with independent information on the level of safety provided by vehicles in the event of a serious accident.

According to the ANCAP report, XUV500 scored 26 out of 37 in the crash test. This included 10 out of 16 in the frontal offset crash test and 16 out of 16 in the side impact test. The report goes to explain that the XUV500 lost the structural integrity in the frontal test. Due to the excessive rearward movement of the brake pedal, the driver is not well protected from serious leg injury. During the crash test, the fuel line ruptured due to contact with driveshaft and also the tailgate opened even though Mahindra had developed a software upgrade to eliminate the problem.
Perhaps, a Four-star rating is the best crash test score achieved by Mahindra. Previously it had earned a two-star rating for Pik-Up dual-cab ute in 2008 and 2011 and three-star rating for the upgraded model this year. In the report ANCAP also announced that a five star-rating has been awarded to Mazda CX-5, BMW 3-Series and Honda Civic hatch. However, Mahindra XUV500 remains the safest medium SUV in the country. It would be fitted with six airbags and electronic stability control when it goes on sale in Australia this month end.

Planning to buy a diesel variant due to skyreaching petrol prices? Think over it again. The diesel variant cost almost 1 lakh more than its petrol counterpart. Imagine another 1 lakh increase. Will you not think again? The oil ministry has planned to impose taxes on diesel vehicles. And these special taxes would increase the prices of small diesel cars by Rs. 1,70,000/- and that of medium and large vehicles by Rs. 2,55,000/-. Such decision has been taken in order to reduce the price differential between petrol and diesel to offset the huge imbalance in demand for cars.
The news has not been taken in a good spirit by the automakers. According to them, there is already a slump in the demand for petrol cars and any further increase in the prices of the diesel cars would only make the situation worse for the auto industry where the demand of the diesel variant was picking some speed. Till, now we had stable diesel fuel prices, thanks to the political pressure. With these additional taxes on diesel models, the demand for these too would taper.

“Sales of new cars is already slowing. We have cut production of our petrol models in tandem with the changing market dynamics, and any tax on diesel cars would further taper off demand,” S Nakanishi, MD, Maruti Suzuki said.

In the past few days diesel cars were chosen over their petrol counterparts as they are more fuel efficient and offer 30 percent more mileage. Moreover diesel currently costs 74 percent cheaper than petrol. Thus, the sales of diesel cars increased to 55 percent of the total units sold over that that of the previous year when it was just 38 percent. Perhaps, the move might be ‘politically’ correct but then, its not just the automakers who would be impacted but also the general public as now they have to put more efforts on their grey matters to choose a car.

Middle class Indian bike enthusiasts are happy to buy a bike well under 1 lakh and still they get the Fastest Indian. Another thing that will Impress you is Pulsars come in all the segments, from a 135cc to a 220cc.

So, if you are looking for a Power+mileage option in your bike and want a sport bike feel and do not want to compromise with your pocket as everybody knows Petrol prices have risen a lot during recent days, you can opt for a Pulsar. Even a 220cc Pulsar will promise a Fuel efficiency of 45 kmpl that promises around 140kmph top speed. What more you need. Pulsar comes with loads of technology at heart and are more refined and vibeless now. If you ask me to talk about the Pulsar I can keep talking and can fill hundreds of pages. This is one of the reasons sometimes I think why I can write about Pulsar so much and not on any other bike, that creates even more respect for this bike. This is one of the reasons, I am a proud owner of Pulsar 180UG3 and Pulsar 180 UG4 2010. I have ridden both the Pulsars for more than 45000 kms. So, I think, I can speak of them now.

Mahindra 2 Wheelers has been an aggressive player in the scooter market ever since it launched the Duro and Rodeo in 2009. The Rodeo is one of the three power scooters in Mahindra’s portfolio and incorporates alot of technology from Taiwan based company SYM. Competition in the scooter segment is increasing day by day with manufacturers refreshing their products. Honda, the leader in this space recently updated the Dio, while Piaggio launched the Vespa and Suzuki brought in the Swish. Hero MotoCorp launched the Maestro and now Mahindra is here to challenge them all with the refreshed Rodeo RZ. We take the Rodeo for a spin in Mumbai’s Filmcity to gauge the upgrades.

Styling – The new Mahindra Rodeo RZ remains pretty much the same as the regular Rodeo when it comes to styling. Changes are minimal and the obvious ones are new graphics at the front and rear. The Rodeo is being introduced in all new colours like green, orange and purple, which will appeal to a larger audience (mostly females). It looks right with edgy lines and sharp slashes near the foot pegs. The Rodeo looks slim in profile. What I disliked the most is the design of the alloy wheels. It could have been much better. But overall, the Rode is a cute looking scooter.

Instrument Cluster and Switchgear – The Instrument cluster has always been the party piece of the Rodeo. Seven different colours to choose the background of your digital speedometer, is in every way super cool! A side stand indicator with a buzzer helps you realize that the side stand is still engaged which is indeed very helpful. Unique and distinct feature list sets the Rodeo apart from competitors. No one offers a digital speedometer with trip function, acceleration timer, over speed alarm, clock and the background colour option in the entire scooter market. The switchgear adds to the sporty appeal of the cockpit, all though the plastics used could have been better.

The storage space has been drastically increased. Perhaps, it can fit in a full faced helmet, a school bag or a bag of grocery. The illuminated storage space area is a very thoughtful idea. The increased ground clearance by 24mm to 154mm helps cross invisible/unmarked speed breakers with ease. The mobile charger function can turn helpful in case of emergencies. The fuel filler cap is in the front rather than the conventional under the seat location. This provides convenience to the drivers at the filling stations.

Performance and Gearbox – Performance is best within the 8 BHP segment of scooters. Thanks to the new Z-Series engine, which produce 8.1 BHP of peak power at 7000 RPM and 9 Nm of torque, performance is good. The Rodeo goes from 0-60 km/h in 9.35 seconds and the power delivery is linear, which is a boon for new riders. Unlike the Suzuki Access, which has a very crisp throttle response because of more power and torque at lower RPM, the Rodeo has enough pep to help you zip away from any situation in city traffic. The scooter has enough grunt to keep you going on the highway as well.
The gearbox is one of the best I have experienced. There is no CVT rubber band effect at lower RPM and this helps you maintain lower speeds. The rubber band effect cannot be completely eliminated, but you will hardly notice that because mid-range is terrific, you just open the throttle and you’re doing 60-65 km/h in no time thanks to the light kerb weight of 106 kgs. Surprisingly, the scooter went quite fast on inclines as well, which is something not seen in this segment.

Ride, Handling and Braking –The dynamics of the new Rodeo RZ are quite exciting, it still being a scooter. The riding position is spot on. It provides both comfort and a sporty feel. The chassis being a monocoque is right and light. Tires at the front with the telescopic suspension offer good cornering. At the rear, the suspension is soft and rear tire could do with more width. It does a great job for hard and fast riding around the twisty roads. Tyre grip in both the wet and the dry conditions is good. Brakes are good but they could do better with more bite. The Rodeo soaks bumps, potholes, and rocky roads with utmost ease. The scooter is very balanced even in off-road conditions and does not toss. But, Suzuki Access still remains a bench mark with respect to stability.

Conclusion – Listening to customer feedback has always helped companies to grow in the minds of the customer and in the market as well. Mahindra has been taking customer feedback very seriously and incorporated changes to the Rodeo. The company has given its best seller a good upgrade, which will make it more popular amongst the masses. The performance is now better and the practicality of the Rodeo has increased as well. With prices set to remain largely the same, the Rodeo RZ will continue to do Mahindra 2 Wheelers proud and attract customers.

Bajaj Auto has officially launched the Pulsar 200 NS motorcycle in Maharashtra today. The launch is taking place at the Marriott Convention Center on S.B. Road in Pune and we are bringing you live updates from there. The company is launching the Pulsar 200 NS in Maharashtra only and will soon offer it in other parts of the country. The plan is to do a phase wise launch. The Pulsar 200 NS is price at Rs. 84,096/- (ex-showroom, Pune). The bike is available in four colours namely Red, Yellow, Black and Blue. Other than the blue colour, all other colours are on display at the launch. As all the information about the Pulsar 200 NS has already been covered, we are bringing you some points which weren’t revealed by Bajaj Auto before.
Key Points From Today’s Press Conference

The pricing is not introductory but fixed.
15 customers started testing the Pulsar 200 NS in January 2012.
Customers tested the Pulsar 200 NS in Goa, Hyderabad, Leh and Ladakh.

Big consignment of Duke 125 and Duke 200 was exported to Japan recently. This is the first time for an Indian company.

Bajaj Auto has handed over first six customer the keys of their Pulsar 200 NS.
No scooter plans at all. Bajaj Auto wants to claim themselves as bike specialists across the world.
