Finally, the film has released and released with quite a nice start for an Imran Khan film.It netted about 5.5 Crores on Friday and about 7.5 crores on Saturday making the 2 day total about 13 crores nett which is quite impressive. Although, Kareena won't be happy with the figures as this would be her first film in a couple of years with first day collections less than 12-13 crores. Although, as far as the verdict is concerned, it looks to be a HIT...

As far as this one is concerned, I would still predict it to be a mixed one. The film, although has a positive word-of-mouth
made by its trailers, but you can't say it to be a record breaker in absense of major actors like Khans or probably Devgn or
Hrithik, it can't be a 100 crore blockbuster for sure. But I would still expect it to be a hit. What I think of it's nett gross is

Agneepath Hit or Flop

So it's the Agneepath mania! This one has became an ultimate hit for Hrithik and of-course, this one is the highest grossing Hrithik Roshan film ever. It collected about 6 crores on Monday, 7 crores on Tuesday and about 6 crores on Wednesday. As per early estimates, it would collect about 5.5 crores on Thursday making it's first week total a whopping 88-90 crores. It would surely cross the 100 crore mark and be the first Hrithik Roshan film to do so. Well done boy! The film is somewhere in between a Blockbuster and a Superhit right now. We would clear this confusion and bring final verdict of Agneepath on 9th Feb 2012.

The film has done exceptionally well as compared to.other Hrithik Roshan film. After SRK and Salman doing quite well at the box office, Agneepath has taken Hrithik to New heights. The film collected about 12 crores on Saturday and about 17 crores on Sunday. the film has collected about 64 crores in extended weekend.

Oh My goodness! Scroll dpwn and you'll see that we predicted Agneepath to gross about 15 crores nett on Day 1. But, it grossed exceptionally well and collected about 21.2 Crores nett on Day 1! I mean, if I am not wrong, The collection of Bodyguard was 21 Crores nett on Day 1 while Agneepath has collected more than it setting a new record! This film, I think would the first ever 100 crore plus for Hrithik and second in a row for Priyanka (Who is at top floor of success after Don 2 and Agneepath). Well, all we can say is beware Khans! Hrithik is here!

I was wondering what to post for today in My Bollywood when I came across this shocking news. Nikhat Kazmi, personally speaking, the film critic whom I admired the most is no more..(

Yes, what you're thinking is right. The ratings of films you saw in the TOI were given by her. When you asked somebody "How many stars did this film get?" you knowingly or unknowingly pointed towards her. She brought a revolution in film critic industry and probably, no critic would be as accurate as her. (I think so.)

I hope theories like 2nd Birth turn out to be true..( A gem is lost.

But, Saira (Yes, the new born is named Saira) is 2 months junior to the Beti B whose name is still undecided. The baby's birth was announced the same way Abhishek announced his daughter's birth.

Mahesh Bhupati tweeted "ITS A GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! @DuttaLara. I Love u...." The same way as Abhishek tweeted "It's a girl"

Review: Don 2

Well it seems that the world has caught the Don 2 mania. This Christmas, everyone are discussing the return of the King! Even we can't spot out of it! So, here's how we review Don 2.

Don 2 is a film which has no great dialogues like Singham or The Dirty Picture. But, it has some grpping moments for sure. The film's music, is average while direction is quite good. But, while seeing it, sometimes you may feel that the film is restricted to high class people and you even feel it to be like films like The Italian Job or Ocean's series.

The film overall is a very big game-plan where SRK, the Don, plays his game in such a way that he uses his enemies to help him. The film begins with a few drug mafias of Europe planning to kill Don. While Don, surrenders himself in the Jail of Malaysia ofcourse to Roma, his junglee billi! But, his intention is not to surrender, but to release his old enemy Vardhaan from jail. They both escape from the jail smartly. And then comes the Do's plan to blackmail the President and VP of DCB in exchange of helping Don to rob the currency printing plates. In the end, Farhan tries to put a suspense which is not something big like the one in Bodyguard.

Overall, it is an entertaining ride for sure where the film is great after it falls in gear. But, the great part is only for last 30-40 mins. If you like thrillers, opt for Don. You'll have fantastic time!

Overall this one is made at a very low budget as compared to Ra.One. Ra.One was made at 160 crores while Don2 's cost is about 70 crores.

Instant Hit:-
Television (Satellite) rights are sold to Zee Network for about 38 crores. Moreover distribution rights are sold to Reliance Entertainment at about 85 crores which means the film has already grossed about 130 crores before release. A business of profit!

Controversy (Wikipedia):-

A month before its release, Nariman Films, the producers of the original, sent a legal notice to Reliance Entertainment and Excel Entertainment over the remaking of the original for the second time. According to the notice, Nariman Films had given the rights to Excel Entertainment in perpetuity for making only Don: The Chase Begins Again. However, the producers claimed that "Whatever they had done is legal, so the claim is false and so are the charges. This is an absolutely new film and there is no question of a delay in releasing Don 2." Moreover, Khan added in an interview with Mumbai Mirror, "While my producers are best qualified to give a fitting reply to the whole matter, I as a lead actor can say that as for the sequel, the Amitabh Bachchan Don never had a sequel. So where is the question of us copying anything. Farhan and his team have worked on the script, I know for a fact that we haven't copied from anywhere and this is an original script. In 19 December, just a week before the release of the film, the Bombay High Court refused to stay the release of the film. The court gave this ruling while taking into consideration that the film was to be released on December 21 overseas and December 23 in India, for which, bookings had already been undertaking in theaters across the country.

The producers were sent a notification by the Health ministry, stating that they should put a disclaimer along with the lead character speaking about the ill-effects of smoking. The ministry also demanded the smoking scenes depicted in the film be scrolled down or blurred. Sidhwani and Javed Akhtar met Information and Broadcasting minister Ambika Soni to resolve the matter, and commented "We all agree that smoking is a major health issue and there is no intention of glorifying it in the film. It is shown as a weakness or a trait of the character. We reasoned with them and they saw our point of view. So the film will only have a disclaimer in the beginning. No blurring of scenes or scrolls during the movie."

Shooting:-

The film was shot in India, Germany, Malaysia and Switzerland and the shooting lasted for about 5 months (October 2010-March 2011). The final scenes were shot in Malaysia.

Don 2 Story

The bosses of the European drug cartel meet in the French Riviera to discuss a new threat emerging from Asia. Don is jeopardizing their business because he is able to sell drugs at a much lower price. The bosses send word out that Don must die.

Don has been living in Thailand for the past five years and goes to a remote settlement to pick up a shipment of drugs. Instead of a normal transaction, Don has to fight his way out because the more powerful European bosses want him dead. He then goes back to Malaysia where he surrenders to Roma and Inspector Malik.

Don is sentenced to death and sent to a Malaysian prison where he meets Vardhaan. Don and Vardhaan escape the prison by poisoning all the inmates and go to Switzerland where they retrieve the contents of a locker only Vardhaan could access. The locker holds a tape that shows Diwan, the vice president of a money printing bank, bribing someone to kill a competitor.

Don blackmails Diwan into giving him the codes to the bank so that he can steal the printing plates. Diwan gives him fake information and hires assassins to kill Don. Don escapes and forces the assassins to work for him instead. Diwan is then forced to hand over the real information.

Don and his new team plan a bank robbery and carry out their plan by taking hostages. After stealing the printing plates, Don is betrayed by Vardhaan and his team but manages to escape. However, one of the members, Sameer, calls the police and Don is captured. Unable to enter the bank and free the hostages, the police are forced to work with Don to get back into the bank in exchange for immunity. Don and Roma manage to reach Vardhaan but Roma is shot because she refuses to kill Don when forced by Vardhaan.

Don, Vardhaan and his thugs fight and Don manages to defeat them. He then get his immunity papers and carries Roma out to an ambulance. Don and Roma exchange one glance at each other before the ambulance doors close.

Don then detonates a bomb he planted earlier in Diwan’s car. It is revealed that Don still has the real money plates and gave fake ones back to Diwan. The fake plates are destroyed in the explosion that kills Diwan. The police cannot do anything as Don has immunity now and do not know that Don has the real plates. Don also gives the police a disc of all his associates but it is really a disc with the names of the European drug cartel. All the members of the cartel are arrested and Don becomes the king of the European underworld.

Don 2 all set for a release!

The year is gonna end and finally Don 2 is ready this Christmas. Is it the Christmas magic that persuaded Farhan and Shahrukh to release the film at Christmas. Looking at Taare Zameen Par, Welcome and 3 idiots did magic at box-office, Don 2 may be hoped to do a good business this way.

The film seems to be quite promising and a few people may be excited about it, but we hope that it does not seem to be a film like Ra.One. So, the film releases tomorrow. We will soon bring you the exciting review. This one excites me more than Ra.One!
