Six out of the ten responded to the medication with a 30% decrease in severity of their symptoms. Side effects included having vivid dreams, insomnia and transient nausea but these were reported to be mild and brief.

Because of the positive results of the study, further testing will be done on 30 other fibromyalgia patients for 16 weeks.

The Banana Diet Helped Ease My Fibromyalgia Pain

I went on the banana diet to lose excess weight because I felt that having too many pounds on my petite frame was just making my fibromyalgia pain worse. I remember that I was having less pain when I was leaner and lighter.

I was quite confident on the safety of the banana diet because I read about it from a Time Magazine report. The banana diet goes as follows:

A banana (or as many as you want) and room temperature water for breakfast; eat anything you like for lunch and dinner (by 8 p.m.). A three o'clock snack is okay, but no desserts after meals, and you have to go to bed before midnight.

This diet is a hit in Japan, with proven results. People around the world have followed suit.

It is not as restrictive as other diets and not extreme at all. Because of this, there does not seem to have any negative side effects.

It does not even really feel like a diet at all. The banana tastes so good and really fills you up. Sometimes, I even also have bananas for dinner especially if I've had a rich lunch. Don't take away all other food from your daily intake, though, because then you would be losing out on valuable nutrients. Just use the banana as a filler to replace empty calories and snacks.

I lost all my excess weight in two months and have been maintaining my weight for more than a year now. My theory proved true - I've had much less fibromyalgia pain since then.

Being lighter also enabled me to do more stretching exercises. I'm sure this helped a lot, too.

I believe that eating a lot of frit may have also helped my skin.

There's really no downside to this diet. Bananas are now my all time favorite food!

Turmeric and Ginger Relieve Fibromyalgia Pain and Headaches

Turmeric and ginger, belonging to the same family, are two spices that not only enhance our food but could also relieve our fibromyalgia pain and headaches.

Turmeric is a root spice that is a member of the ginger family. Although used extensively in cooking in Asia, it has also long been valued in Indian Ayurvedic medicine as well as in traditional medicines of other Asian countries as a natural pain reliever and anti-inflammatory. Scientific tests have even proven that turmeric is as powerful as the anti-inflammatory drug phenylbutazone.

Many users recommend taking one to two teaspoons of turmeric powder daily. It can be taken in hot milk. It is also available from health food stores encased in capsules.

Aside from providing pain relief, turmeric has also been found to be a powerful anti-oxidant and anti-carcinogenic. It prevents the build up of protein plaques in the brain leading to Alzheimer's disease, reduces the clumping of platelets leading to atherosclerosis, and detoxifies the liver.
The ordinary ginger we all know and use for cooking is itself also a powerful pain reliever. In one study, fibromyalgia patients were given two to four teaspoons of powdered ginger daily for three months. After that period, 75% of them reported experiencing significant pain relief with no side effects.

My children and I have been taking turmeric capsules. I also have ginger tea on hand at home.

Holiday Burnout

The holidays are fun days. Unfortunately, they could also overload our systems. All that hustle and bustle, planning, buying presents and grocery shopping, cooking, hopping from one gathering to another and eating all those rich treats ultimately lead to burnout. Those of us prone to chronic headaches or suffering from fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome will find ourselves with worse than a hangover unless we learn to take things slow and take care of our own special needs.

Take time out to assess your priorities because you can only do so much in one day before you trigger your body alarms. Don't expect your body to suddenly be able to do more than what it's capable of.

Rest, rest, rest. Plan your activities with a lot of breaks in between.

Eat judiciously. We can have treats but choose carefully because you can't have them all without consequences. Make each bite worthwhile.

Most of all, enjoy the quiet moments with your loved ones. Bonding need not be exhausting.

I should know what I'm talking about - I've been down with flu-like symptoms and a bum tummy since the 24th! I'm determined to be well enough to welcome the new year feeling my best, though.

Have a healthy 2008 everyone!

Technorati Profile

Virgin Coconut Oil Helps Relieve Our Fibromyalgia and CFS

Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) has been found to be beneficial for health, in general, and to fight a number of illnesses.

VCO is strongly anti-viral and anti-bacterial, and its high content of lauric acid similar to that in mother's milk boosts the immune system. Because of this, VCO has been used to help HIV patients combat viral infections.

A daily dose of three tablespoons of VCO will also benefit healthy individuals by strengthening the immune system. VCO covers the body's daily nutritional requirements while revving up the metabolism, resulting in natural weight loss with long-term use.

The Philippine National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) has also declared that:

- VCO is anti-cancer with its fatty acids inhibiting the growth of tumors in the liver, colon and breast;

- VCO helps cure benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and ulcers;

- VCO is a facilitator of vitamin absorption in the body because it acts as carrier and protective agent for fat-soluble vitamins;

- VCO enhances the absorption and retention of calcium and phosphorus

- VCO stimulates thyroid function, resulting in lower cholesterol; and

- VCO normalizes body lipids, protects the liver, pancreas and digestive system, and improves the immune system's anti-inflammatory response.

All these benefits add up to VCO being very beneficial to those who suffer from fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, as well.

In my family's experience, daily doses of virgin coconut oil or its equivalent - the raw fresh meat of half a mature coconut - keeps our energy levels up and keeps those aches and pains at bay.

Apple Cider Vinegar Helps Relieve Fibromyalgia Pain

I don't know what the scientific basis is, but I have been taking apple cider vinegar and it seems to be helping relieve the worst symptoms of my fibromyalgia.

I read from many sites on the internet about how organic apple cider vinegar relieves the pain of arthritis and fibromyalgia and I thought to give it a try. Being organic, it shouldn't cause any harm. I take it diluted with water so acidity shouldn't be a problem.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that I liked the taste of two tablespoons or so of apple cider vinegar in a tall glass of very cold water. I don't even need to add honey. It's very refreshing especially on hot days. On cold days, I take it with hot water and it agrees with me, as well. I now use it as a regular beverage instead of sweetened calamansi juice or iced tea. The hot version is an alternativeto hot herbal tea.

The worst of my muscle pains have been relieved. I do other therapies, too, of course so I cannot really say for sure that apple cider vinegar is solely responsible. I think itmust have contributed, at the very least.

For now, I'm happy taking it - especially to replace other less healthy beverages.

Make sure, though, that you're taking the organic kind. And dilute it with water, too, even if you can tolerate the taste full strength. It may be too acidic for your system and the enamel of your teeth.

Fibromyalgia: Eye Pain

This may seem weird but, yes, fibromyalgia could also manifest as eye pain.

Most of my eye pain triggers headaches but, sometimes, the eye pain is there without the headache. It feels like extreme eye fatigue. I can feel the strain in the "muscles and nerves" on my eyeballs and those connecting my eyeballs to my head. I don't know if they are, indeed, muscles and nerves but that's what they feel like.

I have been changing the lenses on my glasses several times within a year because they would suddenly not feel right - what was fine for reading would suddenly be blurry. Sometimes the prescription would go lower, then higher. Sometimes the optician would say one of my eyes has normal vision, and then a fewmonths later it would need upgrading again.

I only connected my eye problems with fibromyalgia after reading Dr. Devin Starlanyl's guide on what a fibromyalgia patient's eye doctor should know.

Apparently, there are trigger points (TrPs) in the face that cause eye pain.

Some TrPs could contract the muscles holding the eyeballs and cause them to misalign, resulting in visual problems. Since such tensions are not permanent, the visual disturbances are also temporary.

TrP contractions can be provoked by muscle fatigue and lack of sleep, so those are factors we can control.

Dr. Starlanyl also recommends an eye exercise to be done regularly: Put your hand on your head above your forehead and roll your eyes up to look at it. Also move your eyes from extreme left to extreme right slowly. This is supposed to stretch your eye muscles and TrPs. Do this slowly, though, and don't overdo it. In our condition, even recommended exercise can provoke a new episode of pain especially when new.

Melatonin Helps Relieve My Sleep Problems That Aggravate Chronic Headache, Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

A common trigger of chronic headache, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome is a disturbance in sleep patterns or lack of sleep. Instead of taking possibly habit-forming sleeping pills, though, I take melatonin.

Our brain's pineal gland is supposed to produce enough melatonin to regulate our sleeping and waking patterns. When we are not able to do this, we can take supplements.

This time, the synthetic supplement is found to be preferable to natural melatonin. This is because the latter is taken from animal pineal glands which may be contaminated with viruses. The pharmaceutical grade synthetic is safer.

Melatonin induces sleep quickly and is often used to prevent jet lag or to compensate for the sudden change in sleeping schedules of workers taking the night shift. It is also recommended to prevent chronic headaches.

A study in the Netherlands has shown that a high dose of 75 milligrams daily for four years among 1400 women produced no negative side effects. Many still consider this inconclusive, though.

A low dose of 1.5 milligrams is cautiously recommended, with gradual increase depending on tolerance. In headache prevention, as much as 5-10 milligrams are allowed. Of course, you must consult your doctor first and disclose all other medications you are taking in order to check for incompatibilities.

The melatonin supplement I buy comes in a 1 milligram pill that is placed under the tongue and is, therefore, more easily and completely absorbed by the body. One pill is enough each night.

It is best to take it 30 minutes to 1 hour before your usual bedtime.

Remember not to take any food or drink with a stimulant effect for the few hours toward bedtime. This includes coffee, tea, colas and energy drinks.

Also wind down your activity level and put yourself in relaxation mode.

Sweet dreams.

The MyBlogLog Community Exchange Will Make You Feel Good

The MyBlogLog Community Exchange was created by Garry Conn, who has also been dishing out successful blogging tips for everyone.

I am an active member of MyBlogLog. Each of those days brought fresh emotional distress.

I find myself relying ever more on my dependable menthol crystal and essential oils.

The menthol crystal I use has the trademark Borher-Ding, manufactured by Jen Sheng Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., Taiwan. It comes in the form of a smooth hard cone with a round head wrapped in foil, a plastic base and a dome-like plastic cover.

The essential oil, called an "embrocation" made of menthol crystals, methyl salicylate, eucalyptus oil, camphor and lavender oil, has the trademark White Flower, manufactured by Hoe Hin Pak Fah Yeow Mfy. Ltd., Hongkong.

A similar product I use has the trademark Polar Bear.

This is not a sponsored post, and I think you may be able to find similar products from other manufacturers if these are not available in your area.

The ones that I'm using are very effective for me, though. If the pain is not very bad, I can even use them without any oral medication. On worse days, they still help along the mefenamic acid (Ponstan or Gardan) or the ibuprofen-paracetamol mix (Alaxan FR) I take. When the worst pain comes on, I take mefenamic acid round the clock and still use the menthol crystal along with essential oils.

The menthol crystal is especially soothing when rubbed hard on the forehead, eyebrows, the area between the eyebrows, the temples, the hollow behind both ends of the jaw just under each ear, and the nape. I always find several very sore and very tender spots that I massage harder with the hard crystal. I also find "veins" that seem like tiny paths of pain which I follow with the crystal.

I make sure to have these crystals handy wherever I am. I always have one in my purse, one by my bed and one downstairs.

It can be used even when in public. Sure, the menthol scent is very strong but it's not offensive. The worst you can say is that you'll be smelling like menthol drops.

I reserve the essential oils for home use. I use them on my scalp, again concentrating on the paths of pain and the very sore and very tender areas. The glass vials' tip also serve as massager for these areas. The menthol seems to have fingers that massage deep into my head, giving soothing relief that an ice pack can never deliver.

I only use these embrocations at home because they can smell too strong in public. Also be careful not to let them drip on to your face, especially near your eyes. If this happens, flush your eyes immediately with a lot of water, preferably warm.

I hope these products can help you, too.

I'd love to hear of other tips for headache relief.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: Tired All The Time

See if you or any of your family members have the following symptoms:

You feel like you have the flu, except you have no fever. You feel so tired and have no energy at all that even talking can sometimes be exhausting. When walking, you feel like just stopping and slumping down on the floor or the pavement. You have recurring headaches. Your body aches all over. Bed rest and even sleep does not improve your condition.

This happens even if you haven't done anything tiring. It can also be triggered by physical activity, though.

If medical tests show no possible medical cause for these symptoms, you most probably have chronic fatigue syndrome.

The condition is little understood by medical science, but is recognized. Thankfully, we, sufferers, are no longer considered hallucinatory.

There is actually an International Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Study Group of scientists, researchers and doctors organized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to determine a standard method for defining and diagnosing chronic fatigue syndrome.

It is best to consult a doctor with your symptoms first in order to screen out other possible causes.

Once you have established that you, indeed, have CFS, the symptoms can be treated. This is the best that could be done as there is still no cure for the condition.

The headaches and muscle pain are addressed by pain relievers - either oral or topical. Massage is also helpful.

To live with the condition, you need to shape your lifestyle accordingly. Avoid the kind of stress and physical activity that could trigger an episode. Identify your priority tasks and pace yourself in doing them.

Listen to your body while attempting any exercise regimen. Go slow and introduce change gradually. You do need some form of gentle regular exercise, though. Being sedentary will only make you even weaker.

We will share other ways of coping with CFS in future posts.

Your experiences are also always welcome here.

Fibromyalgia: Chronic Body Pains

You feel aches all over your body, but more so in specific tender spots. Often, the pain segues into headaches. This leaves you tired all the time.

You go to your doctor and are advised to undergo several tests. All of them come out negative. You are dismissed.

This scenario is very frustrating because you continue to experience the same discomfort, sometimes daily.

What you may have is fibromyalgia.

Still unrecognized by many medical doctors, fibromyalgia has nevertheless been identified and acknowledged by leading medical institutions such as the Mayo Clinic and the American College of Rheumatology. So you're not just imagining things.

Fibromyalgia's tender spots are typically located at the base of the skull, in front of the neck, in the upper chest, in the shoulders, in the upper back, around the elbows, above the buttocks and around the knees.

I also have them behind the upper part of my jaws, from the indentation just behind the earlobes to about an inch down.

If you have fibromyalgia you can palpate yourself to find your tender spots. They are very easy to find. In fact, they will be shouting out to you. Yes, it seems to hurt everywhere byt these spots are especially painful and may even have you involuntarily crying out when pressed.

The good news is that it is not life-threatening, nor is it progressive. Sufferers know how much it can disrupt normal daily life, though.

Other accompanying symptoms usually experienced by those with fibromyalgia are:

- unrefreshed sleep, or waking up tired,
- irritable bowel syndrome, with constipation, diarrhea or abdominal pain and bloating
- sensitivity to glaring lights, strong odors and loud noise
- depression, anxiety, mood swings and difficulty in concentration
- dizziness
- numbness or tingling in hands and feet
- pain during menstrual period
- dryness in eyes, mouth and skin

In general, we are advised to try to reduce stress, get enough sleep, establish a regular but moderate exercise regimen, pace our activity to avoid over-exertion, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

I will go into other treatment and coping methods later.

Chronic Headaches: Migraine

This type of pulsing or throbbing headache is very severe and usually comes with nausea and vomiting. You become very sensitive to light and sounds, and the pain worsens with movement. You would just want to lie still in a dark quiet room. The pain can last for hours or even days.

Some people with migraine experience flashes or zigzags of light or have blind spots. These are called "auras." Others feel some tingling or pins-and-needles in their arms or legs. Some have their speech affected. These usually happen just before an attack but may also occur during or after the attack.

Migraines can happen to both adults and children. It often runs in families.

In women, migraines often occur just before or during menstruation. (This is like clockwork for me.) Attacks seem to be related to hormonal fluctuations so be aware that taking birth control pills or hormone replacement therapy may also be triggers.

Certain food have likewise been identified as common triggers for migraine. These include alcohol, cheese, chocolate, too much caffeine (which, ironically, could also help ease or prevent attacks for some, including me), monosodium glutamate (yes, definitely, for me - never fails), aspartame, fermented and pickled food, some seasonings, and some canned and processed food.

Thankfully, chocolate isn't a trigger for me. I love dark chocolate!

Going hungry is another surefire trigger for an attack. As is a change in sleeping patterns, including both lack of sleep or too much sleep. Sudden changes in temperature (extreme heat or cold) will give you pain, as well.

Avoid glaring light - whether from the sun or artificial light - and strong odors, both unpleasant and pleasant. Perfume can be as much a provocation as cigarette smoke or the smell of gasoline.

Like all other headaches, migraines are also produced by stress and tension.

Too much physical exertion - even exercise - can also trigger an attack.

Finally, check your medications. Some of them aggravate migraines.

Note: If you have any kind of headache, please consult a physician about it. It's important to immediately rule out many possible medical causes first.

Chronic Headaches: Cluster Headache

The Cluster Headache occurs several times a day for several days. If there is at least one pain-free month between clustered attacks, it is called episodic cluster headaches. Chronic cluster headaches occur daily with no pain-free days in between.

In this case, my cluster headaches are episodic and not chronic. It is also possible to have alternating experiences of episodic and chronic cluster headaches.

The identifying pain of cluster headaches is the sharp pain through one eye - as if an ice pick is being stabbed through the deep inner part of the eyeball. It is often accompanied by a runny or stuffy nose.

When I have this kind of headache, I find that lying down makes the pain worse. My eyelid on the affected eye droops a bit and I feel that my face is bloated.

The headache can also occur at night. I sometimes go to sleep without a headache but wake up in the middle of the night - or just shortly after falling asleep - with that deep sharp pain through one eye.

One trigger identified is the disruption of normal sleeping patterns. This can start a cluster episode.

When a cluster episode has begun, drinking alcohol - even in small amounts - can bring on the headache. So does cigarette smoke - even second-hand cigarette smoke. The smell of gasoline, paint or solvents also often have the same effect. Glaring light can also trigger this kind of headache. So beware.

Note: If you have any kind of headache, please consult a physician about it. It's important to immediately rule out many possible medical causes first.

ViralTags Add Links With Relevant Anchor Text

Please pardon this off-topic post. This will allow us to rank higher in Google searches and, therefore, serve more readers seeking information on chronic headache, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome.

ViralTags, created by Founders Cafe, will enable us to build more links throughout the blogosphere with relevant anchor text of our choice. I got this from The AnitoKid Chronikos.

The program is easy. Just follow the instructions below:

============== Copy and Paste below this line ================

Instructions:

1.) Copy and paste everything within the broken lines but provide your own unique introductory paragraph.

2.) Substitute the Host Tag and one of the “Viral Tags” in the matrix with your anchor text of choice and your blog’s URL. Please keep anchor text to a max of 3 words to keep the matrix size manageable.

3.) When you get a ping back from someone that has your link in one of their “Viral Tags”, practice good karma by copying his/her Host Tag’s anchor text (automatically the associated link will also be copied) and paste it over one of your “Viral Tags” below.

4.) Encourage and invite your readers to do the same and soon this can grow virally.

ViralTags:

Host Tag: Chronic Headache Sometimes the pain continues down to the shoulders. There is also often some pain in the jaw and neck.

When I try to trace the pain with my hands, I feel tender areas in my scalp, neck and shoulders.

This type of headache can last for half an hour or up to a week. In my case, I often go to sleep with this type of headache, wake up several times in the middle of the night still feeling it, and wake up tired and irritable in the morning still with the headache. While it persists, it is difficult to concentrate on any task.

This type of headache can also occur among children. My son began to experience this even as a child.

Medical research has not identified the causes of tension headaches. Some triggers that have been observed, though, include stress, anxiety and depression, as well as sleep problems, erratic meal times, poor posture and lack of physical activity. The hormonal fluctuations brought about by menstruation, pregnancy or menopause are also triggering factors.

We can, as much as possible, try to eliminate the triggers of tension headache as a preventive strategy. Get a good night's sleep. Eat regular meals. Be aware of your posture and do not keep your body at certain static positions for long periods of time (such as when working before a computer) so as not to develop muscle kinks. Start a moderate but regular exercise regimen, even if only involving gentle stretching.

This is a start and should be part of our daily habits.

Chronic sufferers know, though, that the headaches do not necessarily stop with these efforts. We will pursue all other avenues soon.

Note: If you have any kind of headache, please consult a physician about it. It's important to immediately rule out many possible medical causes first.

Boost Your Page Rank and Traffic Through Viralink

Viralink is not a dangerous viral disease. Far from it. Rather, it is a means to increase your blog's page rank and traffic.

I learned about Viralink through The AnitoKid Chronikos. I believe him, considering that his blog has a PR4 and ranks 55th in Ratified.org's Top 100 Philippine Blogs, and rising. Thanks, AnitoKid!

We should also thank the creator of Viralink, Andy Coates!

Here's how it goes:

———copy and paste the Viralink and instructions below this line———

Below is a matrix of 120 stars, I have already added a link to my blog onto one of the stars, all you need to do is copy and paste the grid into your blog and add your own link to one of the other spare stars, and tell others to do the same!

Viralink:

************

************

************

************

************

************

************

************

************

************ If you focus, therefore, on your pain - or even on wanting your pain to go away - pain persists in your experience. The trick to making it disappear is to pretend it does not exist.

Say to yourself that you are feeling well, comfortable and energetic. Verbalize it. Write it down. Visualize it. Act it. Luxuriate in a hot bath or a long hot shower with your favorite aromatic bath products. Pamper your skin afterwards with your own skincare products. Style your hair or let it dry naturally. Dress in something that makes you feel good. Then go and do something you truly enjoy.

Do this every day.

Reclaim your life. I am reclaiming mine.

Grief, Stress, Tension Trigger Episodes of Chronic Headache, Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

I am still in the early stages of grieving since my Mom passed away last May 11. I am also still feeling the impact of my Dad's passing a year ago since I was too focused on caring for my Mom and assisting her in her grief when it happened.

Since we returned home from the cremation last May 16, I have been feeling such bone-deep fatigue. At first it could be attributed to having stayed at the funeral parlor for five days and nights during the wake and the previous week's long nights staying up, too. After a few days, though - and after having slept a lot to regain lost sleeping time - I still felt the same tiredness and lethargy coupled with the sore muscle points. The headache also keeps coming back.

I guess I should have known. Other moments of less stress and tension in my life had triggered these episodes. What more this enormous personal loss?

Thankfully, my son and younger daughter have been spared. Perhaps they are better than I am at coping.

I am trying to sleep well and to eat healthy to help in my recovery. Eating well is hard to do, though, because I seem to have lost my usual appetite and would rather just pick at snacks than eat full meals. I try to have fruit, though. I will also try to go to the gym. I'm hoping the workout will help me release some of the tension and emotions.

Just thinking through a sensible post has become a chore. Even typing at the keyboard is exhausting. I want to be able to function at my usual level very soon, though, so I'll just have to keep working on myself.

Chronic Headaches, Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Runs In Our Family

I and my 10-year-old daughter have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, while I and my 16-year-old son have chronic headaches, alternating migraine, tension headaches and cluster headaches.

Ever since I was a little girl, I can remember my Mom always having severe headaches. They were often followed by her having to throw up and then lie in a quiet dark room with a cold, wet towel on her forehead.

She would tell me that my grandmother had the same affliction.

My own headaches began when I was 15 and a freshman in the university. I had enrolled in Industrial Engineering but Physics class triggered blinding pain in my head. I eventually shifted to Bachelor of Arts in Communication but the headaches remained a regular fixture in my life. I am soon turning 45 and the headaches are still coming regularly.

My headaches are just as severe as my Mom's, sometimes even more. They could also continue for days at a time.

When I checked many sources online, I found that I experience several types of headaches. I have classic migraine and also tension headaches and cluster headaches. They occur at different times.

My son began having recurring headaches since he was seven. He is already 16 and is still having them.

My fibromyalgia began when I was also in university. I thought then that it was only ordinary muscle pain. I had specific sore spots in my neck, nape, shoulders, back, upper chest area and arms, though.

The muscular pains intensified after I had my first child. I thought then that it was only because of carrying my daughter. The sore spots have remained consistent until now, though.

Often, my muscle pains would also trigger my headaches. Conversely, massaging my sore spots and treating them with wet heat or liniments would somehow help ease the headaches, though not completely.

My 10 year old daughter began having severe muscle pains last year. It was bad enough - with her crying in pain - to have us running to her pediatrician. She was given a complete medical work-up to rule out rheumatic heart and other medical conditions. After several tests, she was pronounced clear and healthy. The only explanation the doctors could offer was "growing pains."

The muscle pains were then followed by days when she would suddenly experience debilitating fatigue. She would feel very weak that she could not even do the things she wants to do, like paint or come with us to the mall.

I have been having the same episodes since many years back. I would wake up feeling so drained and exhausted even when I had not done anything tiring the day before and even if I had a good night's sleep. At other times, the exhaustion would slowly come in the middle of the day, making me feel like sinking down slowly in my chair. Sometimes, even talking or eating becomes so exhausting.

Online research and offline reading points me to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome as the nearest explanation towhat we are experiencing.

Unfortunately, doctors here in Manila still do not seem to recognize our conditions and can, therefore, offer no specific treatments.

This blog is an attempt to share our efforts in trying to find relief from our chronic headaches, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. This includes finding as much information as possible on these conditions, and treatment modalities - preferably all-natural and non-invasive.

We invite you to join us in our journey.
<img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6024351696950834156-7557933078931427362?l=collectednotes.blogspot.com'
