Mayweather was recently handed a three-month jail sentence for domestic battery, which cast doubt on any fight. However last week it was postponed by a Vegas judge until June - paving the way for the May 5, 2012 proposed fight between him and Manny Pacquiao. Boxing fans hopes of seeing this two great fighters fight in May was broken silent when Las Vegas judge sentence Floyd Mayweather Jr to 90 days jail sentence supposedly beginning this month. Luckily for boxing fans who loved to see this most awaited fight, this fight of the century may happen in May. Floyd Mayweather calls out Manny Pacquiao. According to Yahoo Sport UK Floyd Matweather taunted Manny saying, "My Jail Sentence was pushed back because the date was locked in," he added. "Step up Punk." Pacquiao has not responded to Mayweather's taunt, and has not updated his Twitter feed for a month.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. Is Sentenced To Jail For 90 Days

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. may duck and hide from Manny Pacquiao, but he sure cannot run away from the law. Floyd Mayweather is going to jail for 90 days and that's the bottomline. Now he needs to put his mouth where it belongs, he has to serve time for allegedly battering his girlfriend in 2010. Shame on you Floyd! You maybe a winner outside the ring, but your actions outside the ring is a doing of an absolute loser.More On Floyd Mayweather's Jail Story

Because of this court judgement, the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, jr. is now put on hold. Many boxing fans were anticipating the two boxing icons to fight on May 5, 2012. Read More On Pacquiao And Mayweather Fight In Question

Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 Highlights

Manny Pacquiao defeated Juan Manuel Marquez by a majority decision on their fight night in MGM Grand in Las Vegas Nevada on November 12, 2011. Many pro Marquez fans didn't like the judges decision and their reaction echoed the entire MGM grand arena with boos and disappointment. Juan Manuel Marquez was so disappointed that he walked out of the ring without giving a post fight interview in the ring. However, HBO commentator, Max Kellerman was able to interview him in his dressing room with a spanish interpreter. Juan Manuel Marquez's interview with Max Kellerman basically revolved around how he was robbed during the fight and that he had clearly won the fight.

Manny Pacquiao's interview on the other hand with Max Kellerman showed confidence that he won the fight. Manny Pacquiao believed that Marquez didn't want to fight and that all he did was to wait for him to make a mistake.

Was the controversial fight between Pacquiao and Marquez really a robbery as what Marquez and his trainer claimed to be? Absolutely not.

Here are my reasons why:

1.) To beat a champion, you must show aggression and win convincingly in front of the judges. Marquez fought well and countered Pacquiao well, no doubt that Marquez and his trainer Nacho Beristain did an excellent job in preparing for this fight. However, you cannot win a fight without pressing the fight to happen. Waiting for your opponent to make a mistake and throw the first punch will not cut to win it. Marquez was the challenger and to be a able to beat the champ Manny Pacquiao in front of the 3 judges, he must show them that he is hungry to take the title away from Pacquiao and initiate the action to fight. The rounds were close but would the judges give a 10-9 round in favor of Marquez if all he did was to wait for Pacquiao to take action? I don't think so. Maybe at least knock him down or something.

2.) Foot Stepping by Marquez-One other thing boxing fans noticed during the fight was Juan Manuel Marquez stepping on Manny Pacquiao's foot several times. Was this intentional or a dirty tactic? View this video from Michaeldseller

3.) Based on the punch stats from HBO, Pacquiao still came up with higher percentage of total punches that landed compared to Marquez and threw more punches than him. Clearly, Pacquiao was more aggressive than Marquez during their fight. In addition, Judges don't just base their decision with punches. If the round is almost even, they will give the fighter the winning round based on ring generalship.

3.) Marquez's psychological aspect of him winning the fight and thinking that he's winning every round made him lose the fight. He back pedalled, he waited, and left a negative impression towards the judges. He could have pressed the action the last two rounds, and yet he didn't.

With every great boxing matches there are always 2 warriors battling it out in the ring. No holding back and no retreat. Marquez'z performance was a disappointment to me. He made this third fight against Pacquiao one step lesser fight than the other two as far as excitement was concern. All he did the whole fight was wait for Manny Pacquiao to make a mistake and counter him. He did not press the action. He was to cautious to mix it up and engage to action first. He back pedalled as if he was too scared to make a mistake and get knock down again. He probably believed that if he didn't taste the canvas during the fight, he would win the fight. He should've thought that he should've engaged to action and work to have knocked Pacquiao down instead of him thinking how he shouldn't get knock down to win.

Now that you've watched the Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 Highlights, was it a robbery? I don't think so. The fight between Pacquiao and Marquez for the third time was not a robbery. It was quite a controversy for boxing fans who didn't really understand the dynamics of boxing and also for fans that were expecting Manny Pacquiao to knock Marquez out during this fight.

Pacquiao vs Marquez III Official Weigh In

Manny Pacquiao came in at 143 pounds and Juan Manual Marquez weighed 142 .
The Filipino hero and the current pound for pound king, Pacman will slug it out with three time world champ Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez for the third time this weekend. The Pacquiao-Marquez 3 will happen this November 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Who will win this third fight between this two boxing icons. Watch this prediction from theblitzchannel.

This Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 fight prediction is courtesy of theblitzchannel from You Tube:

Now that you've watched the video prediction, who do you think will win between the Filipino spit fire Manny Pacquiao and the Mexican sensation Juan Manuel Marquez?

Do you want to hear my prediction? Alright boxing fans, here's my short prediction to this upcoming boxing match. This will be a competetive fight just like the first 2 encounters between these fighters. The key to this fight is played by Juan Manuel Marquez. How will he fight with his heavier weight and will he maintain his speed and power in this weight class. Manny Pacquiao has already proven himself fighting at a heavier weight successfully. He kept his speed and power and continued to polish his boxing skills in the ring. Manny Pacquiao was quite raw when he fought Marquez during his first two meetings with him. He surely learned and honed his skills more. Marquez's fight against Mayweather at a heavier weight wasn't too impressive. It was clear that the additional weight slowed him down and decreased his punching power. As to my prediction, I will take Manny Pacquiao to win by a technical knockout in round 11 or 12. Pacquiao's speed and power will be too overwhelming for Marquez as the fight goes on to later rounds.

Floyd Mayweather vs Victor Ortiz Post Fight Interview

This You Tube video is uploaded and courtesy of Floydmayweather.
September 17, 2011 will be the date Victor Ortiz fight Floyd Mayweather, Jr. in a very much anticipated boxing match. Will Victor Ortiz Upset Floyd Mayweather, Jr. In Their Upcoming Bout?

Many boxing fans around the world are tired of watching Floyd Mayweather's stick and move style. Boxing fans tend to want to see more action rather than watch someone be on the run and defense all the time. Life is tough nowadays and people want to get their money's worth whether they watch a boxing match live or pay-per-view. Most fans are tired hearing and reading Floyd Mayweather's excuse and duck style just to avoid fighting Manny Pacquiao. Boxing fans want to see him lose and get his ass kicked. But will Victor Ortiz Upset Floyd Mayweather, Jr. In Their Upcoming Bout?

Ortiz is a right-hander who nevertheless chooses to fight from a southpaw stance. He is naturally right-handed but his power is built on his left hand. Victor Ortiz is a good fighter. Ortiz fought Andre Berto for the WBC welterweight title on April 16, 2011 at the Foxwoods Resort Casino, Mashantucket. Ortiz won the fight by unanimous decision over Berto. The judges scored the match 115-110, 114-112 and 114-111 all for the new WBC Welterweight Champion. He has a record of 29 wins with 22 knockouts with 2 losses and 2 draws. His first defeat suffered under the hands of Marcos Rene Maidana of Argentina. He lost when ringside a ringside doctor stopped the fight in the 6th round due to Victor Ortiz' swelling on his eye and a cut on the other. The fight was close. Both fighters were knocked down the first round and Maidana was down twice in the second round. Victor Ortiz' second loss was a disqualification to Corey Alarcon.

Will this be enough for Victor Ortiz to upset Floyd Mayweather, Jr.? Boxing is a game of uncertainty. Too many countless upsets I have seen in boxing history. But because Victor Ortiz has power in both hands and has the style to beat Floyd Mayweather, I think he has a great chance to beat him. Andre Berto is surely not at Floyd Mayweather's caliber, but not a push over fighter either. Manny Pacquiao better be ready for either of these fighters, but first, he must beat Juan Manuel Marquez.

Manny Pacquiao Vs. Floyd Mayweather-The Fight That Will Never Happen

Lots of talks as to when Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather will fight. Boxing fans have been waiting for this superfight for years and it never happened. If this fight was meant to happen, it would have happened long time ago. It looks like neither of them wantS to give in with each other's silly requests. It was a battle of ego from the start. The two fighters are on their way to passing their primes. Who would want to see Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather fight past their primes anyway. Boxing fans around the globe will be to pissed off from waiting by the time they fight each other. Who would want to see 2 seniors fight in the ring, besides, by the time they agree to fight, other pound for pound contenders would have surfaced up the boxing scene by then. So Manny and Floyd, don't waste too much time waiting to see who will give in first. A great fighter never turns down anything and a great fighter never make too many excuses to fight. Floyd Mayweather will fight Victor Ortiz sometime this year and Manny Pacquiao will fight long time rival Juan Manuel Marquez. If Manny and Floyd don't stop messing around, they might end up jeopardizing their careers from losing to their future opponents. An upset that will haunt them for life.
Major boxing matches have been lined up for the rest of the year by top boxing promoters who manage and promote the career of today's most popular boxers.

Some of the major fights include among others, the Klitschko-Haye fight scheduled for July 2, Zab Judah vs. Amir Khan on July 23, Floyd Mayweather vs. Victor Ortiz on September 17, Sergio Martinez vs. Darren Barker on October 1 and Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez on November 12.

These fights will most likely make hundreds of thousands in pay-per-view (PPV) buys, perhaps millions in the case of Pacquiao vs. Marquez and Mayweather vs. Ortiz. Read Full Story!

Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather, Jr definitely will be considered one of the most anticipated boxing match in the history of boxing. Many boxing fans around the world patiently waits for this match-up. There are reasons why boxing fans love to see them fight.

In the last couple of years, boxing controversies have stormed around Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight. The long-awaited Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight is seen by many as a revival event that needs to take place to put a spark in boxing. Boxing excitement is dying since there are only quite a few boxing divisions that put a spark for the crowd to watch. Heavyweight division which has ruled the boxing world for decades, has been dead couple of years and that is the reason why the fight needs to happen. This super fight would generate widespread publicity for the sport of boxing. Boxing fans love to see manny pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather fight needs to happen to see once and for all who will be the true pound for pound king and to end the long-running feud between these two great boxers.

There is a need to displace the attention of the crowd and divert them into luring their eyes someplace else, but truthfully, boxing fans are getting impatient. This impatience will drive boxing fans out of boxing which may lead to the downslide of the boxing era. The proposed fight has gone a long way and it's about time the promoters and fighters reach mutual agreement to diffuse the tension.

These are some of the compelling reasons Why Boxing Fans Love to See Them Fight before they turn geriatric.
Floyd Mayweather News

3 Reasons Why Floyd Mayweather, Jr Will Not Be One Of The Greatest Boxers Of All Time

500 Best Sports Handicappers

Many sports and boxing publications have considered Floyd Mayweather, Jr to be the pound-for-pound best boxer in the world, however, The Ring Magazine previously rated him as the number two pound-for-pound boxer in the world behind Manny Pacquiao, and has since been removed from their rankings as well as most others due to inactivity. Few years back he defeated great fighters like De Marcus Corley, Diego Corrales, Jesus Chavez, Jose Luis Castillo, Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya, Juan Manuel Marquez, and Shane Mosley.

There are 3 reasons why Floyd Mayweather, Jr will not be considered one of the greatest fighter of all time.

1.) To be the best, you need to fight the best. Floyd Mayweather, Jr surely is a good fighter but not great enough to qualify as one of the greatest. He did beat excellent fighters early in his career, but those fighters he beat were rather on their downhill slope or opponents that were not A+ fighters and seemingly choosing fighters he knew he could beat basing on their styles.

2.) A True champion and a great fighter must never make excuses to fight. In boxing, we all know that great boxers fight anybody regardless of their size. Muhammad Ali did it when he fought Sonny Liston, Sugar Ray Leonard bravely fought Marvelous Marvin Hagler, Evander Holyfield fought courageously beating fighters 10-15pounds over his weight, Sugar Ray Robinson did the same. Floyd Mayweather's excuse not to fight Manny Pacquiao is just a plain cowardly behavior using lame tactic allegation of Manny Pacquiao taking performance enhancing drugs-steroids. The olympic style drug testing is just another reason to duck Manny Pacquiao. Does Floyd Mayweather think he can just revise the Nevada State Athletic Commission rules in boxing just like that? One rule to change such policy must be applied to all fighters and not just to Manny Pacquiao. Come on Floyd, Is Manny Pacquiao such a big mighty boxer that must be feared in the ring. Give me a break! Manny Pacquiao is a blown up 118 lb welterweight. You are naturally a much bigger fighter than him.

3.) Muhammad Ali talks smack a lot off the ring and in the ring. The difference between Muhammad Ali's talkativeness compared to Floyd Mayweather's nagging-is the oral defamation content of his words. His loud mouth lead him to Manny Pacquiao's law suit against him for slander. Wikepedia stated, "On September 9, 2010, it was reported that Mayweather was being sought by police for questioning after his former girlfriend, Josie Harris, filed a domestic battery report against him. Harris has accused Mayweather of battery in the past, but those charges were later dropped in July 2005 after Harris testified that she had lied and that Mayweather had not, in fact, assaulted her. Mayweather was taken into custody on September 10, 2010, but was released after posting $3000 bail. Initially, Mayweather was charged with felony theft stemming from the disappearance of Harris's iPhone, but on September 16, 2010, two felony coercion charges and one felony robbery charge were added to the case, along with one misdemeanor domestic battery charge and three misdemeanor harassment charges. If convicted of all charges, Mayweather could face up to 34 years in prison".

Will Floyd Mayweather, Jr. be one of the greatest fighters of all time? Be the judge. Are You Curious As To Who The Greatest Filipino Boxers Are?
Daniel Dwight Tosh (born May 29, 1975)is an American stand-up comedian and television host. He currently hosts the Comedy Central video clip show. The video below courtesy of AirAzn from You Tube shows Manny Pacquiao throwing a right punch in Daniel Tosh's face. This would be "the boxer" Manny Pacquiao vs. "The comedian" Daniel Tosh.

There’s avoiding a fight, and then there’s turning down $65 million for a fight. The former is strategy, the latter is lunacy. That’s what Floyd Mayweather Jr. reportedly said to the prospect of a fight with Manny Pacquiao in Singapore, according to Bob Arum, the head of Top Rank Promotions. If true, Mayweather’s behavior has now been upgraded from “ducking” Pacquiao to “running, screaming like a Girl Scout.”

Arum told boxing reporter Elie Seckbach that as recently as last week, “legitimate people in Singapore” offered Mayweather $65 million to fight Pacquiao, and that Mayweather turned them down.

“You know, one thing about Floyd, Floyd knows boxing. And Floyd knows style. That’s why Floyd was always reticent about fighting a southpaw. And a southpaw like Manny Pacquiao he wants no part of, because even if he protects himself with the left hand, Manny is going to bang him with the right hand.”

“Anyone with any smarts at all knows that [Mayweather's] record is really 48-1, because he’s already lost to Manny Pacquiao by ducking him.”

Of course all of this comes from a man who has the most vested interest in all of vested interests, so one shouldn’t take it as gospel. Still, it’s entertaining. Because when it comes to Mayweather-Pacquiao, pinning Mayweather to the ropes and pounding him with charges of being a sissy is the only real action we’re going to see.

If Mayweather is smart, he’d do this: Tell Pacquiao he’ll fight him if Pacquiao does a condom commercial.
Real hard core training. Manny Pacquiao does 2,000 sit ups a day, run 10 miles every morning, eat 7,000 calories and train 8 weeks straight. Wow! impressive. Is this why we don't see Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather. Hey, Floyd, can you out do his training?
However, there must be only one who deserves the title.

Floyd Mayweather was the reigning pound for pound king until an unknown fighter from General Santos, Philippines Manny Pacquiao proved to the world that he can also be the pound for pound king. I was a huge Mayweather fan for quite sometime until this spitfire from the Philippines caught my attention. Floyd became inactive and at some point retired from the boxing world while Manny Pacquiao worked his best to be on top of the ladder. Floyd faded...Manny flourished.

What made it worse was Floyd Mayweather's avoidance to fight Manny. From the accusations of Manny taking steroids and up to his troubles with the law, Floyd has proven to me that he is a total coward. A dog who hides his tail in between his chicken legs. His tactics really annoyed his boxing fans and frustrated the whole boxing world about his ducking technique to fight his pound for pound counterpart. Lots of issues came out in the news which also involved his father's slanderous act against Manny Pacquiao. At one point Manny was about to press charges against Floyd Senior but he eventually dropped the case. All Floyd Mayweather, Jr.'s camp was doing was to blabber their big mouth about steroid accusations and racial comments about Manny. In return MAnny's fans around the world became irate and began to fight back against these family of cowards.

The strong influence of great boxing skills and the initial reputation Floyd Mayweather built early in his career slowly crumbled down. His sport ethics and dirty tactics surely backfired on him. If what he's waiting for is for MAnny to slow down and age, he will end up waiting for nothing. And even if that time comes, Manny Pacquiao will still proved to be the victor. The destruction of Floyd Mayweather's legacy has happened. Manny Pacquiao will eventually retire soon and will preserve his hard earned status of being the number one pound for pound king in the world-a title swept away from chicken Floyd because of Floyd's idiotic and sociopath's tactic of outsmarting Manny and the boxing fans around the world. Boxing legacy is not about being undefeated, it requires ethics and perseverance to show the world that you don't choose and pick who and when you want to fight. A true fighter fights anyone, whether your opponent is faster or bigger than you. I wish Floyd Mayweather, Jr. follow the footsteps of the great boxers like Sugar Ray Robinson, Floyd Patterson, Muhammad Ali and so on. Unfortunately, his immaturity, character, and bad mentors created a hindrance in his career to be considered one of the greatest boxers in history. He will be known as "the great coward", or "the great Chicken KFC boxer of all time"...this is the destruction of Floyd Mayweather's legacy. To all boxing fans out there, here's a funny video courtesy of n0r3gretz and ceejay2906 from You Tube:
