a) Kabel Coaxiall

Coaxial Cable Adalah suatu jenis kabel yang menggunakan dua buah konduktor. Pusatnya berupa inti kawat padat yang dilingkupi oleh sekat yang kemudian dililiti lagi oleh kawat berselaput konduktor. Jenis kabel

ini biasa digunakan untuk jaringan dengan bandwith yang tinggi. Kabel coaxial mempunyai pengalir tembaga di tengah (centre core). Lapisan plastik (dielectric insulator) yang mengelilingi tembaga berfungsi sebagai penebat di antara tembaga dan “metal shielded“. Lapisan metal berfungsi untuk menghalang sembarang gangguan luar dari lampu kalimantang, motors, and perlatan elektonik lain. Lapisan paling luar adalah lapisan plastik yang disebut Jacket plastic. Lapisan ini berfungsi seperti jaket yaitu sebagai pelindung bagian terluar.
Kabel Coaxial memiliki bentuk yang sangat mirip dengan kabel antena TV, namun keduanya memiliki fungsi yang berbeda. pada bagian ujung yang akan disambung,dinamakan BNC.

Kelebihan kabel Coaxiall:

1) Dapat digunakan untuk menyalurkan informasi sampai dengan 900 kanal telepon.

2) Dapat ditanam di dalam tanah sehingga biaya perawatan lebih rendah.

3) Karena menggunakan penutup isolasi maka kecil kemungkinan terjadi interferensi dengan sistem lain.

Kelebihan kabel Coaxiall:

1) Mempunyai redaman yang relatif besar, sehingga untuk hubungan jarak jauh harus dipasang repeater-repeater

2) Jika kabel dipasang diatas tanah, rawan terhadap gangguan-gangguan fisik yang dapat berakibat putusnya hubungan.

Penggunaan Kabel Coaxial
Kabel coaxial terkadang digunakan untuk topologi bus, tetapi beberapa produk LAN sudah tidak mendukung koneksi kabel coaxial.
Protokol Ethernet LAN yang dikembangkan menggunakan kabel coaxial:

10Base5 / Kabel “Thicknet” :

adalah sebuah kabel coaxial RG/U-8.
merupakan kabel “original” Ethernet.
tidak digunakan lagi untuk LAN modern.

10Base2 / Kabel “Thinnet”:

adalah sebuah kabel coaxial RG/U-58.
mempunyai diameter yang lebih kecil dari “Thicknet”.
menggantikan “Thicknet”.
tidak direkomendasikan lagi, tetapi masih digunakan pada jaringan LAN yang sangat kecil.

b) Kabel Twisted pair (UTP dan STP)

1) Unshield twisted-pair (UTP)

Unshielded twisted-pair (disingkat UTP) adalah sebuah jenis Kabel Jaringan yang menggunakan bahan dasar Tembaga, yang tidak dilengkapi dengan shield internal. UTP merupakan jenis kabel yang paling umum yang sering digunakan di dalam Jaringan lokal (LAN), karena memang harganya yang rendah, fleksibel dan kinerja yang ditunjukkannya relatif bagus. Dalam kabel UTP, terdapat insulasi satu lapis yang melindungi kabel dari ketegangan fisik atau kerusakan tapi, tidak seperti kabel Shielded Twister-pair(STP), insulasi tersebut tidak melindungi kabel dari interferensi elektromagnetik.

Tipe kategori Kabel UTP / Unshielded Twisted Pair :

- Kategori 1 : Untuk koneksi suara / sambungan telepon/telpon
- Kategori 2 : Untuk protocol localtalk (Apple) dengan kecepatan data hingga 4 Mbps
- Kategori 3 : Untuk protocol ethernet dengan kecepatan data hingga 10 Mbps
- Kategori 4 : Untuk protocol 16 Mbps token ring (IBM) dengan kecepatan data hingga 20 Mbps
- Kategori 5 : Untuk protocol fast ethernet dengan kecepatan data hingga 100 Mbps

2) shielded Twisted Pair ( STP )

Shielded twisted pair” adalah jenis kabel telepon yang digunakan dalam beberapa bisnis instalasi. Terdapat pembungkus tambahan untuk tiap pasangan kabel (”twisted pair”).

Dilihat dari namanya Shielded Twisted Pair, kabel networking tipe ini terdiri dari 4 pasang dawai kabel yang masing-masing pasang

dipelintir. Kabel STP mengkombinasikan teknik-teknik perlindungan dan antisipasi tekukan kabel. STP yang diperuntukkan bagi instalasi jaringan ethernet memiliki resistansi atas interferensi elektromagnetik dan frekuensi radio tanpa perlu meningkatkan ukuran fisik kabel. Kabel STP memiliki kelebihan dan kekurangan persis samadengan kabel UTP, memiliki satu hal keunggulan yakni jaminan proteksi jaringan dari interferensi-interferensi eksternal dan harganya lebih mahal dari UTP. Tidak seperti kabel Coaxial, lapisan pelindung kabel STP bukanbagian dari sirkuit data, karena itu perlu di-ground pada setiap ujungnya. Kabel STP tidak dapat dipakai dengan jarak lebih jauh tanpa bantuan device penguat (repeater). Konektor RJ-45 & Tang

Crimping Konektor RJ-45 digunakan untuk memasang kabel UTP dan memiliki 8 buah pin sebagai media transmisi data. Kabel UTP disusun berdasarkan warna yang telah ditentukan (urutan STRAIGHT atau CROSS) kemudian dimasukkan ke konektor RJ- 45 dengan menggunakan sebuah tang khusus bernama tang crimping.

Kelemahan kabel STP
Kabel STP mempunyai beberapa kelemahan :

Attenuasi meningkat pada frekuensi tinggi.
Pada frekuensi tinggi, keseimbangan menurun sehingga tidak dapat mengkompensasi timbulnya “crosstalk” dan sinyal “noise”.
Harganya cukup mahal.

KEGUNAAN :

Kabel STP juga digunakanuntuk jaringan Data, digunakan pada jaringan Token-Ring IBM. Pembungkusnyadapat memberikan proteksi yang lebih baik terhadap interferensi EMI.

c) Fiber Optik

Kabel fiber optik dibuat dari kaca yang dibungkus oleh pelindung dan material penguat. Fiber optik menggunakan cahaya untuk menghantar isyarat, berbeda dengan kabel tembaga yang menggunakan sinyalelektronik. karena itu kabel jenis ini tidak terpengaruh dengan gangguan elektromagnet. Kabel fiber optik sangat sesuai digunakan di kawasan yang banyak gangguan elektromagnet dan jarak yang jauh. Kabel fiber optik mendukung transmisi data berkecepatan tinggi tidak sama halnya dengan kabel tembaga (UTP dan Coaxial). besarnya data yang dapat di transmisikan memungkinkan penggunaan komunikasi yangmembutuhkan kecepatan seperti video konference. 10BaseF, 100BaseF, 1000BaseF merujuk kepada spesifikasi fiber optik yang membawa sinyal ethernet, angka F merujuk kepada Fiber. Connector yang selalu digunakan untuk menyambung kabel fiber optik ialah ST connector yang menyerupai BNC Connector. Namun begitu SC connector akan menjadi lebih populer karena mudah digunakan. Penggunaan fiber optik umumnya digunakan pada jaringan besar dan jaringan tulang punggung (backbone). Tipe ini berisi satu serat kaca tipisyang mengalirkan data dalam pulsa cahaya. Cahaya pulsa merepresentasikan informasi digital yang dibawamelalui jaringan. Harga dan instalasi fiber optik memang mahal walaupun kini semakin turun karena itu pada umumnya orang kemudian mengkombinasikannya dengan kabel tembaga. berdasarkan jalur sinyal yang dikirimkan, FO dibagi menjadi 2, yaitu Single mode dan Multi mode.

2. Sambungan Kabel UTP

a)straigtn cable

Straigt Cable Menghubungkan ujung satu dengan ujung lain dengan satu warna. Sebenarnya urutan warna dari masing-masing kabel tidak menjadi masalah, namun ada standard secara internasional yang digunakan untukstraight cable ini, seperti tabel 6 :

Sebenarnya tidak semua pin tersebut digunakan, Yang penting adalah pin nomor 1,2,3 dan 6. Jadi misal yang disambung hanya pin 1,2,3 dan 6 sedangkan pin yang lain tidak dipasang, tidak jadi masalah.

Waktu akan memasangnya, maka potong ujung kabelnya, kemudian susun kabelnya trus diratakan dengan pisau potong yang ada pada crimp tool. Andak tidak perlu repot harus melepaskan isolasi pada bagian ujung kabel, karena waktu Anda memasukan kabel itu ke konektor lalu ditekan (pressed) dengan menggunakan crimp tool, sebenarnya saat itu pin yang ada di konektor menembus sampai ke dalam kabel. Perhatikan, agar penekannya (pressing) yang keras, soalnya kalau tidak keras kadang pin tersebut tidak tembus ke dalam isolasi kabelnya. Kalau sudah kemudian Anda test menggunakan LAN tester. Masukkan ujung ujung kabel ke alatnya, kemudian nyalakan, kalau lampu led yang pada LAN tester menyala semua, dari nomor 1 sampai 8 berarti Anda telah sukses. Kalau ada salah satu yang tidak menyala berarti kemungkinan pada pin nomor tersebut ada masalah. Cara paling mudah yaitu Anda tekan (press) lagi menggunakan tang. Kemungkinan pinnya belum tembus. Kalau sudah Anda tekan tetapi masih tidak nyambung, maka coba periksa korespondensinya antar pin udah 1-1 atau belum. Kalau ternyata sudah benar dan masih gagal, berarti memang Anda belum beruntung. Ulangi lagi sampai berhasil.

b) Crossover Cable

Untuk tipe cross itu digunakan untuk menyambungkan langsung antar dua PC, atau yang umumnya digunakan untuk menyambungkan antar hub. (misalnya karena colokan di hubnya kurang). Cara pemasangannya juga sebenarnya mudah, sama seperti tipe straight, pin yang digunakan juga sebenarnya hanya 4 pin saja, yaitu pin 1, 2, 3 dan 6. Yang berbeda adalah cara pasangnya. Kalau pada tipe cross, pin 1 disambungkan ke pin 3 ujung yang lain, pin 2 ke 6, pin 3 ke 1 dan pin 6 ke 2. Praktisnya begini, pada ujung pertama Anda bisa susun pinnya sesuai standar untuk yang tipe “straight”, sementara itu di ujung yang lain Anda susun pinnya sesuai standar buat tipe “cross”.Masih bingung? Sudah agak lebih mengerti? Jadi disini posisi nomor 1, 2, 3 dan 6 yang ditukar. Nanti jika dites menggunakan LAN tester, maka nantinya led 1, 2, 3 dan 6 akan saling bertukar. Kalau tipe straight menyalanya urutan, sedangkan tipe cross ada yang lompat-lompat. Tapi yang pasti harus menyalasemua setiap led dari nomor 1 sampai 8.

when extracting;

b) "Organize passwords..." button in password dialog provides
access to password organizer interface, where you can specify
your frequently used passwords. You will be able to access these
saved passwords using the drop down list or autocomplete feature
in password dialog.

It is important to know that saved passwords are not encrypted
and anybody having access to your computer can view them.
Use "Organize passwords" feature only if your computer is
protected from unauthorized access;

c) "Use for all archives" option is available in password dialog
when unpacking several archives at once. You can utilize it
to apply an entered password to all archives.

If you use this option with an empty password, WinRAR will skip
all encrypted archives;

d) Unlike previous versions, the password from default compression
profile is not used for extraction.

If you wish to use the same password for all extracting archives,
press "Organize passwords..." button in the password dialog
and define a new password entry, specifying "*" file mask
in "Select for archives" field.

4. In Windows 7 WinRAR will display the total operation progress
also on WinRAR icon on Windows taskbar. You can disable it using
"Taskbar progress bar" option on "General" page of WinRAR settings.

5. Numerous Unicode support improvements allow to process non-English
file names more smoothly. These improvements include:

a) better Unicode handling in WinRAR in "Rename", "Convert",
"Find" and other commands, in folder tree panel, in password
request dialog and in many other parts of WinRAR interface;

b) correctly displayed Unicode names in WinRAR items in Explorer

6. Changes in -x switch syntax. Now you can specify a wildcard
exclusion mask for folders. Such mask must have the trailing '\'
character, like -x*tmp*\ or -x*\temp\

7. New "Extract relative paths" option in "Advanced" part of extraction
dialog. If you browse some archive subfolder in WinRAR shell
and enable "Extract relative paths" option, the path part up to
and including the current subfolder will be removed from extracted
file paths.

For example, if you are inside of "Backup\MyData" archive folder
and extract "Images" folder, it will be extracted as "Images",
not as "Backup\MyData\Images".

This option is the new default extraction mode, but you can change
the default back to WinRAR 3.x style. Just select "Extract full paths"
and then press "Save settings" in "General" part of extraction dialog.

8. Windows 98, Windows Me and Windows NT are not supported by WinRAR
and WinRAR self-extracting modules anymore. Minimum Windows version
required for WinRAR 4.0 is Windows 2000.

9. If TAR, TAR.GZ or TAR.BZ2 archive contains symbolic or hard links
and if destination file system is NTFS, WinRAR will create these
links when unpacking such archive. WinRAR will create symbolic links
as symbolic and hard links as hard in Windows Vista and newer
and it will create all links as hard in older Windows.

If destination file system is FAT32 or any other not supporting
file links, WinRAR will skip links when unpacking TAR, TAR.GZ
and TAR.BZ2 archives.

Eminem menyebut Lady Gaga sebagai seorang “male lady (waria)” pada lagu yang sudah bisa didengar via YouTube tersebut.

“Tell Lady Gaga she can quit her job at the post office/She’s still a male lady,” ucap Eminem pada lagu tersebut.

Lagu ini akan tersedia pada EP perdana Bad Meets Evil, Hell: the Sequel, yang akan dirilis pada 13 Juni mendatang.

Mike Portnoy, pemain drum dan pendiri band progressive metal Dream Theater, hengkang meninggalkan band yang ia asuh lebih dari dua puluh tahun itu pada September 2010 silam.

Dengan alasan ingin beristirahat demi menyelamatkan hubungan dengan personel Dream Theater yang lain, Portnoy saat itu ingin mencoba membangkitkan sisi kreatifnya dengan berkarya bersama Avenged Sevenfold yang kehilangan drummer James Sullivan sejak akhir 2009.

Pemain gitar John Petrucci yang awalnya mengira Portnoy hanya ingin membantu rekaman album kelima Avenged Sevenfold, tidak keberatan dengan hal tersebut. Tapi ketika Portnoy mengungkapkan bahwa dirinya juga ingin ikut tur, ia merasakan hal itu sebagai sesuatu yang tak dapat ditolerir.

“Saya sudah mengingatkan dia, ‘Saya rasa itu bukan ide yang bagus, Mike.’ Kemudian kami berdiskusi cukup intens mengenai itu. Tapi saya tidak bisa mengendalikan apa yang Mike, atau siapapun, ingin lakukan,” kata Petrucci, seperti dikutip dari MusicRadar.com.

Menurut Petrucci semua sudah terlambat. Karena Mike Mangini telah menjadi pemain drum baru Dream Theater setelah menyingkirkan enam saingan beratnya dalam audisi.

“Hidup Mike Mangini berubah secara dramatis. Dia dulu adalah profesor di Berklee, dan dia harus memberikan penyataan ketika meninggalkan Berklee. Dia punya istri dan dua orang anak. San Francisco, the city that likes to ban everything that makes this country great, like plastic bags and Happy Meals, is just one more round of voting to do away with another American staple. No longer will its citizens be able to depend on their annual free doorstop upgrade in the form of a Yellow Pages phone book plopped in front of their abode. If the bill, read it here (PDF) passes, the company will have to confirm that the residents actually want one first. That should only cut down their market share in the city by roughly... most people.

If the bill passes expect Yellow Pages to pull out of San Fran. What business is going to want to pay to have their listing in it if they can't guarantee any recipients?
The town says banning the books will actually help the economy by reducing advertising rates and cutting down on damage done to the recycling equipment. They also say that the 1.6 million yellow pages each year generate 7 million pounds of paper waste, and, if stacked up, would be equal to 8.5 Mt. Everests.
If they ban the books, how is Timmy going to put them on top of each other so he can drive Dad's truck to rescue Lucky the Dog? Important questions remain unanswered, but a spokesman for a Yellow Pages lobbying group said they would probably sue if the bill was passed.

Sean Kingston Stabilized After Jet Ski Accident

Hip-hop star Sean Kingston was operating a jet ski in Miami Beach early Sunday evening when the watercraft collided with the Palm Island Bridge. His condition has now been stabilized.

"Sean was heading west from the MacArthur Causeway and Miami Beach Islands when his personal watercraft collided with the bridge, and he and his female passenger ended up in the water," Jorge Pino, spokesman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, the lead investigative agency of the accident, tells PEOPLE.

"A good Samaritan tended to the two of them until Miami Beach Fire Rescue arrived and saw there were injuries," added Pino.

The rescue team's assessment was to transport the star and his female passenger to Jackson Ryder Trauma Center in Miami around 6 p.m.

The singer's publicist, Joseph Carozza, issued the following: "Sean Kingston is now stabilized and has moved from the trauma unit to ICU. Sean's family thanks everyone for their prayers and support during this time."

Pino said investigations into the cause of the accident are still underway, but "nothing indicates there was alcohol involved."

"Nine times out of 10, recklessness on the water involving personal watercraft contributes to accidents," Pino tells PEOPLE. "That is not necessarily the cause of this one, but we spend a lot of time patrolling the areas looking for violations with jet skis and motor boats."

Kingston, 21, best known for his 2007 hit "Beautiful Girls," recently collaborated with Justin Beiber for "Eenie Meeni." As the 17-year-old Tweeted: "Got my friend @seankingston in my prayers tonight. a true friend and big bro. please keep him in your prayers tonight as well."
