Residents in Montreal Perform Leonard Cohen Classics

2020-03-23T12:57:00.000-07:00

Residents in Montreal have taken a leaf out of Italy’s book by taking to their balconies and singing songs during the coronavirus outbreak.

Many came out to perform Leonard Cohen classics earlier this week as the Canadian city remains in lockdown with ‘So Long, Marianne’, among a host of songs performed.

Keep up the good work Montreal and stay safe

The Ace Of Spades - It's Surprising Where Inspiration Can Come From!

The Ace Of Spades - It's Surprising Where Inspiration Can Come From!

Lemmy Kilmister has announced that Motorhead are postponing their upcoming European tour until early 2014 to allow him more time to recover from a recent series of health woes.

The group was scheduled to begin the trek on Nov. 7 in Zurich, Switzerland, but Lemmy has declared in a statement on the band’s official Facebook page that he is “not quite ready to hit the road yet.” The iconic rocker suffered a hematoma back in June, and around that time it was also revealed that the singer and bassist had been fitted with a defibrillator to help him with undisclosed heart problems. He attempted to return to the stage in early August, but was forced to cut the band’s Wacken Open Air Festival set short due to a combination of 100-degree heat and the lingering effects of his recent medical issues.

Lemmy may well have delayed the Tour until 2014 but, now we know where his original inspiration came from. And why not indeed?

Get well soon Lemmy!

My Place

2009-11-10T08:39:00.000-08:00

By Norman Hewitt

I know my Place
I wont question the rules
I cant blame my tools
I can suffer fools
I admire better schools
I know my place

I know my place
I doff my cap to the boss
I do give a toss
I don’t count the cost
I will respect dross
I know my place

I know my place
I respect my superior
I think I’m inferior
I keep a cheery exterior
I maintain this theory for
I know my place

I know my place
Although I would just like to say that life can grow tiresome
Having to suffer patronage and continued humiliation
From those people of supposedly better upbringing
Fine breeding and higher social class

I rest my case!

Coming Out

2009-11-10T08:36:00.001-08:00

Life would be easy if I came out as gay

My old friend Bill would like it that way

I would build a love nest with a garden and gate

And watch football on telly with my lover and mate.

Act One Scene One

Rupert: Ah Ha you scurvy knave, have at you sir, I will run you through with my trusty foil. On guard sir.
(Bruce picks up a nearby pitchfork and plunges it deep into Ruperts chest)
Bruce: Aw pis off Rupert.
Rupert falls to ground while Bruce chases Agatha round the foliage.
Bruce: Aw, come on Ags, show us your knickers.
urtains.
