Blackbird - Great Drinks Meet Solid Eats

Interested in solid happy hour drinks that are as refreshing as they are intoxicating? How about some of the freshest, and most inventive versions of fish or appetizers that are happening in our fair city lately? Then take a stroll down 9th street, where one hour parking can test your patience, but the eats are better than most things in the greater 20+ mile radius.

This not-quite-so-new restaurant has been on the scene since Spring of 2012 and has made quite an impact. on the seafood scene as well as the quality of cuisine below 15th street.

Some examples of this food quality are below:

a particular favorite of mine is a Southpaw, think (for you downtowners) of a white linen and replace the gin with bourbon - this means taking something great and making it even better!

Items worth Mentioning: Savory Bread Pudding

This most recent addition to Magpie Cafe's breakfast menu is one of their most exciting and inspiring - now we are all well aware of their cooking prowess event without their most recent 2013 winner's title for Bacon Fest, but although I've well known how good their biscuit sandwich is (great biscuits - and this is not an easy find) it was their most recent Savory Bread Pudding that wowed me.

Savory Bread Pudding - With bacon,Sierra Nevada goat cheese and chipotle cheddar from Bravo Farms, served butter and maple syrup!!!

it's almost stoner genius, but also quite culinarily astute to put to cheeses together, along with a lot of bacon, great quality bread, and then top it with Maple syrup? CRAY CRAY! Try it soon!
