It's almost as if I don't even exist when he is home and when he is at work they are so upset about him being gone that they still don't care that I am there lol. I know they love me but for the time being they just love him more! Yesterday morning Sam woke up screaming for daddy, who was at work so I went to get her out of bed and she was furious! She grabbed her pillow and backed into the corner so that I could not get her out and she just yelled GO! GO! over and over again, taking breaks from time to time to yell out for daddy. I just stood there and waited for her to calm down after five or so minutes of being swatted by a pillow every time i reached for her I told her dad would be back that night and could I please get her out of bed? She sat down crossed her arms and told me NO! Ten minutes later she asked to get out so that she could go potty. It was hilarious and sad at the same time!

Respect 101

I was walking through the store when I overheard this little conversation: CHILD "Mommyyyy Say please." Your child is just that, a child, NOT an object that you own but a human being that you are raising. Every person deserves to be treated with respect, yes even the young ones. I don't understand how one can expect their children to treat them or anyone else with respect if they never receive any themselves.

Bad weather, Good fun

We have been having some crazy weather lately so in order to maintain sanity we have had to come up with some things to do.

What you need: an old box (I used a diaper box), three cups or plastic containers of different sizes, marker, scissors, tape, and a ball. use the marker to trace a circles onto the box around the bottom of the containers (remember to cut the holw slightly bigger if the container or cup is smaller on the bottom, and be careful!) now just put the containers in the holes. Take the little circles and write 1 2 and 3 on them. One on the cup/container with the largest opening and three on the smallest. now just let your kid try to throw the ball into the containers. I had my daughter try to get a certain number of points per game so that we were practicing math at the same time! She loved it!

We have been trick or treating in the house with some toys instead of candy. The girls actually put on their costumes and have their bags its really cute!

Played "Princess And The Witch" We take turns being the bad witch and casting spells on the princess!

We have played store, which I like because it teaches her about money. We take turns being the store owner and the customer. We just use their little table and set up various toys and use some fake money for the purchases. I always give too much so that we have to figure up change!

We put up some plastic cups and went bowling!

And lastly we have been doing a lot of art and a lot of letter writing! This is her most recent letter which is so cute!!

Dear Sabra,

I love you sabra. We can come to your house sometime and we will never leave you again. Dad will come with us and when we are not there we will for miss you and we will never leave you again. Sambo Rambo you can come with us and o sammy i will shave my toys with sabra. Sabra we will bring you food. I love your Cakes they are beautiful cakes and I love them. We miss the baby and we want to see him really bad. Dear Sabra I am very proud of your cakes and its alright that i haven't eat any of it they are very pretty. O Gavin dear Gavin I love you and you are so cute. I love babies. They are so cute when they slobber.

Love Liz

I asked who had the baby because my sister Sabra does not have one and she said Jake which is my sisters boyfriend. They have also both been having nightmares! The night before last Liz woke up screaming and crying about an hour and half after she had gone to bed. I went to her room to try and calm her down and as soon as I got to her bad she stopped crying. I asked her what was wrong, why she was crying, if she needed a drink or the potty and she just stared at me so I left. As soon as I got back to the living room she started crying again! Same story stopped, stared, left. This went on four maybe five times and then she just walked into the living room said she didn't know why she was crying went to the potty and went back to bed. Poor baby! Sam's was even worse! About a week ago she woke up in the middle of the night very suddenly with this blood curdling screaming that went on for nearly 45 minutes! We were trying everything to calm her down! Poor baby was sweating so bad and just hysterical. I took her to the living room to get her fully awake and she finally stopped and went back to bed twenty minutes later. Two nights later she did it again! Sweating and screaming she fell asleep on my chest.

Early morning projects.

I had a couple of things I really needed to get done this morning so I gave the girls some paper and crayons and asked them to write me a book.

Sam's obviously wasn't going to be much of anything but she did a little bit of coloring and then just put the crayons in the box and then dumped them out and continued doing that for 20 or so minutes, about what I expected. Liz's books on the other hand were pretty good! She drew a lot of pictures and tried to write some words, after I finished cleaning I asked her to read them to me and these are the three stories that I got:
1) Mom this one is the story of a princess that had a lot to do! See here she is cleaniiiiiiiing and cooooooooking and coloriiiiiing and vacuumiiiiiing and eeeatiiing and washing diiisheees. Then end.
2) This one I drew for Daddy and its a picture of a storm. See the storm cloud? Sammy helped me draw that. Then the sun comes out and these beautiful flowers grew. (long pause) That's all I drew, I don't really know how to make books yet.
3) This one is for babies. There are 10 boys, 10 girls, 3 babies, 7 dads, and 5 moms and they are all having a big party outside cause its such a beautiful day outside.

So cute! Then she turned one of the books over and started writing a letter to daddy, this is what she said

"Dear Dad,
You went to the Little Gym with me once and you take care of me all the time at home. I miss you and I will always miss you. Please come home.
Love Lizzy"

Sister bonding day

Sam has been "nose slobbering" (Liz's words) all day and has been sneezing up a storm! She doesn't act like she feels bad at all just tired and snotty but Liz still felt the need to be SUPER SISTER! She donned her cape and was bringing Sam toy after toy trying to make her happy. It was so cute!

While Sam napped today Liz was playing with play dough and made a hiphipanominous. Now you may be asking yourselves what in the world that is, I will give you a hint it's a mispronounced animal that is the closest living related to a whale.

A few funny quotes for today
Liz made a very random announcement today that she is "a country girl" just sitting around eating a little snack and she says "I'm just a country girl"
We went to get her hair trimmed and when the woman asked her what she wanted she said "I'm just really not sure anymore"
and one that I am certain every mother has heard at least once: we are in the grocery store going from isle to isle and all I can hear is " Mom can I have that? Mom mom mom can I have that? ooo can I have that? Can you get me that? Can I have one of those? Mom! Mom! Mom, mom, mom Can you get me one of those or some of that?"

Liz knows I don't like Spongebob AT ALL and luckily she doesn't fight to watch it. It came on today after the show I was letting her watch on the dvr turned off and the first thing I saw was Squidward being kidnapped by Songebob and Patrick! Really?? Why is that show on cartoon network?!

punishments?

We were always a spanking family until here recently. I started realizing that my younger daughter thinks it's okay to hit because she sees us spanking her older sister. Plus I really think that it only makes Liz act worse to be spanked, so it instead of making my kids better it's making them both worse! We stopped completely as of a week ago and I can already see improvements!

Liz just had a minor meltdown. She refused to drink her milk this morning and as a result it of course got warm from sitting out for too long so she asked for a new cup of milk. I offered her apple juice just because i thought she would like it and she started yelling at me that she wanted milk and that's why she asked for milk! Then I gave her milk and she screamed and cried for about 40 minutes about how she hates milk and I need to get up and get her some juice right now! Excuse me Missy! So....right now Liz is laying down for her first nap in nearly year! I really hope she actually falls asleep because I would love to have a chance to do some dishes!

On an off note Sam wants to potty train really bad! I would LOVE to have them both potty trained!!
Parts of the process I am NOT looking forward too
1) For some reason when we were potty training Liz she went through a phase where she rubbed poo all over everything!! Not sure if every kid does or if Sam will or not but it is definitely #1 on my list of phases to avoid!
2) The accidents in panties, o its so much worse than diapers
3) Cleaning the potty
Other than that let's go!

<div style="text-align: center; Honestly I am 100% certain that there had not been a two minute period of silence in my house in at least two years. Unless of course it was after bedtime.

Today I found a great site!
http://www.toddlertoddler.com/
It has some easy, fun toddler activities. Apparently Liz was in a room playing with one other little girl and when he looked in on her she was talking away as usual. The mother of the other girl said to Liz "wow you sure have a lot to say" Liz's response was "i pretty much never stop talking" lol That just cracks me up. It's so very accurate!

Sam is our little animal lover and she is all about some dogs! She LOVES dogs! She sleeps with one every night and carries two around with her all day. It's her favorite word and any show with dogs in it are her favorite shows: dogs 101, dog whisperer, clifford, etc. We were sitting down eating dinner and she was yelling DOG over and over so Liz decided it would be a good idea to teach her how to eat like a dog. Good job Lizzy! Now Sam says Dog woof woof and then licks her plate.

The true heroes

I don't want my children growing up idolizing any celebrity! I know that may sound horrible but I just don't think that they are appropriate idols for children. They are famous for various things in the entertainment field which to me is one of the less important things in life and yet they get paid more, and looked up to more than the people that should be our children's idols. Think of all of the people that are essential for civilized life to continue the way it is: cops, fireman, military, teachers, etc. the list is so long. The people that get paid next to nothing and do the job because they love it and they love that it changes peoples lives.

Sunday not so funday.

Today my husband left on a little military trip. Little bit of snickering outside of the dressing room. Then she follows it up with "O MY GOD MOM YOUR PANTIES ARE IN YOUR BUTT CRACK HA HA HA HA HA" A lot of snickering outside. Now Liz realizes she is making people laugh so she just keeps going "Your panties are in your butt! Mom you have a wedgie! HA HAHA HA HA"

Yesterday I realized just how hard its going to be in a few months when I start college. Sad. The girls have not been in daycare at all for over a year now and don't really spend much time away from each other. We went to The Jumping Monkey which was a toddler zone for two and under and adhere to it very strictly! The girls both kept asking for the other the entire time we were there! Apparently we need to start working on this because come september Liz will be in pre-k and Sam in daycare.

Liz has started cleaning the house and the other day she told me that I needed to start helping her because dad likes to come home to a clean house.

Blame it on the birds, her story my words

I exited a clean living room and moments later entered a living room with a carpet of toys.
Liz's explanation.

I invited a friend over, when we opened the door a bird flew in!

This bird proceeded to make a nest out of toys on the fan.

Then later we turned the fan on and toys went flying everywhere!

Woohoo First blog!

I have two young daughters, Liz is 3 and a half (very offensive to leave off the half apparently) and Sam is 15 months. I can not get over how silly these girls are! I started this blog to share the many funny things that my kids say and to keep better track so that I have it all ready when I write my first children's book.

Liz is my little ham, she is all about making people laugh! I went to the St Leo University office a couple of days ago to do some paper work and Liz's goofy was in full swing! There were two women in the office and I guess Liz decided she really wanted to talk to the younger one so she starts yelling "Hey purple one! Purple one! Purple one come here! I wanna talk to you...purple one." I stopped her and told her it was rude so she needed to ask politely what one's name is before starting a conversation. This is when the others realize she was talking to Andrea who was wearing a purple shirt so laughter commences and Liz then starts her hamming " she is wearing a purple shirt and i didn't know her name (laughter) so i called her purple one (more laughter) can you talk to me Purple?"

Short Quotes

"Mom Sammy is bang heading again, isn't it cute?"

"Reading" Cinderella to her sister

"Her step mom was cold, ice cold. That means mean Sammy"

"This is where she is getting married (sigh) isn't her wedding dress just beautiful?"

"Mom if we are going to fly to the moon we should wear our seat belts."

"If you start driving right now I am going to be really mad at you because I am only half buckled."

Liz: "Mom I thought we were going to Dad's work to take him dinner."

Me: "We are honey. Then straight back home, ok?"

Liz: "Then why did you leave the food at home on the table."

Me: "Dang it! Did I really?"

Liz: "Yep."

Having caught Sam completely disrobed I ask her "Do you need to go potty?"

Sam says "U huh poo poo" so I take off her diaper and she was right, there was the poop, falling on the floor. She found this quite amusing and could not stop laughing!

"Jesus is like Santa he sees everything but he lives really far away and we never see them."

Liz: "What do you mean you and dad are married?! Only girls get married!"

Me: "No mam some girls marry boys."

Liz: "Did dad wear a wedding dress too?"

Out of the blue.

"Mom do I crack you up?"

"Does Sabra (aunt) have hair?" After being told yes "Ok i am going to draw it."

Liz: "Can I write a letter to your brother Dylan, wait I thought he was my brother. What is he?"

Me: "He is your uncle silly:"

At the dinner table

Sam holds out a hand cover in feces my response is "O My god why would you do that?"

Sam's eyes get the size of saucers and fill up with alligator tears, her lip gets like half an inch from her face and the chin starts to quiver and all she can muster up is a very quiet "ew" before busting into tears. Poor baby. Mommy is sorry.

This is just the tip of the iceberg! Believe me there will be more!
