Here are some great tips for content marketing on how press releases should be set-up. I've written quite a few press releases, but before I did, I attended webinars on how to get the best search engine rankings. I followed the instructions and to my amazement, the next day I was on the front page of "Yahoo News!"

It is critical for your short and long term success to find ways to generate more traffic to your business and website.

If you are on a tight budget, one good way to get free publicity for your business and get more traffic to your website is to create good press releases about something going on in your business and submit one at least once a month. When an agency posts your press release, you could receive hundreds and hundreds of hits in just a few days. This is a great strategy to build into your marketing. Although you will not receive thousands of hits to your website, the main benefit is that you will get links back to your site which can help you with your search engine rankings.

Here are 5 steps necessary to creating a good press release:

1. Identify your target market – Who are you talking to?
2. Determine what kind of media they read, watch or listen to
3. Find the niche that appeals to your market
4. Write the release according to the templates
5. Submit your release

In addition to the 5 steps above it is very critical that your press release include the following:

1. Headline: A strong captivating headline positioning good key words that relate to your business that focuses on “What’s In It For The Reader?”

The headline should grab the reader’s attention and be in bold type, capital letters, and double-spaced. The headline should summarize the entire press release in a brief, powerful sentence or phrase and lead the reader into the first paragraph.

2. First Paragraph: Now that you’ve captured the interest of the reader, you will want them to read the remainder of the press release. The first paragraph is the next strongest piece of information. This is a good place to focus on who, what, where, when and why.

3. Second and Third Paragraphs: These paragraphs are a great place to highlight a
quote from you written in a third party perspective as a recognized expert in your field. This also helps you establish credibility and authority in the marketplace and also lets the reader know why you are sending the release and why the reader should read it. A great way to do this is to take a position of controversy that the reader does not believe what you are saying, so you must prove it with your points supported by evidence. You may also want to include a quote from another person involved in the project or a testimonial quote from one of your customers on one of your products or services.

4. Final Paragraph: This paragraph is the “call to action.” This is where you want to
tell the reader what to do next. You should be specific, such as “Visit our site at:” “Call us to place your order” “For more information…..”

Leads are the life blood of your network marketing business. Without leads you are nowhere. There are two distinct schools of thought here. The warm market leads and MLM leads generated through advertising. Let us examine them at some length because this is very important.

NETWORK MARKETING - WARM LEADS

There are very successful network marketers who have built huge businesses only through warm market leads. Warm market leads have some distinct advantages. Firstly there is already an ongoing relationship of trust. Network marketing is a relationship business. To succeed you have to build a special relationship of trust with the person you sponsor. In the case of warm market leads this relationship already exists and makes your job easier. Secondly it is easier to share your excitement about a product, service or business with someone you already know than with a total stranger. This transference of excitement and sharing of joy is very important in building your network marketing business. Network marketing works on recommendation and the person who will listen to your recommendation is someone who already knows and trusts you. Lastly and most importantly your warm network market leads don’t cost you a dime. Advertising can be very expensive and you can max out your credit cards and still not reach your target audience.

The problem with warm network market leads is the poor conversion rate. This is because you are talking with leads that are not looking for a business opportunity. For most of these leads timing may not be right. Some may be going through change of jobs, transfers, shift of residence, new arrivals in the family and all kinds of other family issues. A NO from your dear ones can hurt and feel like a rejection. The NO can spring from lots of reasons totally unrelated to the business opportunity and it is definitely not a rejection of you as a person as long as you don’t pester them and make them feel uncomfortable. You have every right to share your enthusiasm for a product and an idea. If they are closed to your idea there is nothing to feel upset about. Network marketing has been given a bad name by some people who will not take a NO for an answer. They will badger their contacts with the hope of wearing them down and change their minds. Please remember everyone will not be as excited about the opportunity as you are because the timing may not right for them. You discuss the opportunity with the next person in the list. That is why they say you should make a very long list. A sort list will create problem. As you start making money and your belief in the business goes up you will find a sudden change in the attitude of your warm market. You will find very easy converts to your cause. People who initially said NO will ask you to join the business. This is how the business works. You have to remain calm, consistent and focused regardless of views of your warm market in the initial stages of your business. DO NOT TRY AND CONVINCE…….JUST SHOW THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PEOPLE YOU KNOW. You will win if you take MASSIVE, CONSISTENT and PERSISTENT ACTION

The key to succeed with your WARM MARKET LEADS is to start them on the products, and not pitch the opportunity to them straight away! Once you get your family and friends started on the products (It doesn’t cost you that much considering that you can claim tax breaks) and once they see results from it, they will start buying and promoting the products to the people around them because of the benefit they experience! Some may even decide to join the business opportunity!

You can never run out of warm leads. Once you have sponsored a few people into the business you have to start supporting them and work through their leads. Sooner than later you will find active network marketers who share the same vision as you and your business starts growing.

COLD NETWORK MARKET LEADS THROUGH ADVERTISEMENTS

The MLM leads you generate through online and offline advertisement are highly motivated leads. These people are searching for home businesses. They will look at various options before deciding on the best opportunity. The conversion rates from these leads can be fairly high. You can build your business very rapidly through advertising. The best part being that there is very little or no rejection factor as in the case of warm leads.

One thing I can warn you from the very start NEVER EVER BUY LEADS because these leads are sold over and over again. The only thing you will achieve is to pay for these expensive leads with no returns to your business. To be successful in business you have to generate your own leads. There are no SHORT CUTS.

The problem of network market leads through advertising is not only the prohibitive cost but also skills needed to reach the target audience. If you choose the advertising route you will be competing for attention against big companies and budgets for attention. If your advertisements are not focused and targeted they will not reach the right people. Either you have to become a master at marketing which include developing advertisement writing skills, knowing the right medium to advertise to gain maximum impact and also know how to monitor the cost returns on advertising. Without proper monitoring systems in place you will blow up your budget without any tangible returns. If you are advertising on the internet then you have to develop special skills to market on the internet. Most average people do not have the necessary skills to advertise effectively and if you are one of them then you can spend thousands of dollars and achieve very little or no results. There are unscrupulous upline leaders who will ask their members to embark on expensive advertising to grow their business even when they don’t have the specialized knowledge to guide their team.

There are also advertisement sharks especially on the internet that try and sell you leads and many other fancy gadgets like ad blasters, blog blasters, banners etc which produce little or no results…….the only aim being to empty your wallet. Can you remember the last time you clicked on a banner? The other option is to hire a professional to do the job for you and monitor his results. In both cases advertisement can be very cost prohibitive until and unless you have the necessary skills or very deep pockets.

Another problem with generating MLM leads through advertisements is that there is no relationship with the lead. To succeed you have to build a relationship of trust. This takes time and effort. The problem is compounded because the leads that you generate may not be from your local area. You have to set up systems for long distance support by taking advantage of modern day communications. The support systems have to go in place before you start to advertise. You will need to budget the additional website and communication costs.

There is no doubt that advertisement can greatly help your business to grow rapidly but you have to master the art to succeed. If you are a beginner it is advisable to stick to the warm market leads till such time you reach breakeven point in your business and are in profit. You can then slowly start advertising at first by using free resources. There are various avenues of free advertising and we shall discuss some of them later in this book. As your income from business grows and skills improve you can slowly start experimenting with paid advertising. But remember every dollar you spend on advertising must be monitored and should have positive result in building your business or you are simply wasting money.

For someone new to the network marketing business the best option is to first work with the warm market leads. Next step is to generate leads by adverting through FREE resources. Paid advertising should be attempted after having gained the necessary skills, setting up the organization for long distance support and once the business is in profit. The only exception to this rule is if you already have the expertise in advertising or have deep pockets to hire an expert.

Every network marketing company boasts of a compensation plan that creates passive income through leverage. Yet majority of people who join the business fail because they do not understand how leveraging works. Most people fail because their focus is on Recruit, Recruit, Recruit, numbers, numbers, numbers……it is a race against time and others to recruit before someone else does. Now you have hundreds of recruits who don’t know where they are going. You don’t have time either to build relationships or train so many of them. They are left helpless on their own. They start dropping out in hoards. You are back again Recruit, Recruit, Recruit……… This is definitely not leveraging your time or effort.
There are marketers who can recruit dozens, even hundreds, of people through the motivation of greed. But when it comes to something sensible and worthwhile, they shy away from becoming involved. This is because they think network market is just a numbers game. They tell their new recruits that they will have spill overs in their downline. That there is no work involved. Lies, Lies, Lies and more Lies……..With this kind of thinking they will attract recruiters who think the same way. What is the best way to develop a solid marketing force that never leaves your network? Sponsor a few key people at a time. Give them your full time and support. Build relationships. Help them to succeed in the business and train them to do the same. You have to build your network market on the right principles to succeed. There are no short cuts. Are you willing to take the responsibility to becoming a sponsor? If so then please read on……..
There are people who will tell you “Just recruit a lot of distributors. You’ll get at least a few good ones that way.” Few leaders will emerge along the way and your work is done. You can then have all the passive income you need. Leaders don’t emerge in business. You have to find talent and develop them. Once in a while you can get lucky but that does not happen very often. You can’t leave your business to chance if you wish to succeed.
The bottom line: Leverage is mandatory for wealth creation, and you will NOT become wealthy without it. You are either exercising the power of leverage for yourself, or you are serving as leverage for someone else, and building their wealth for them.
To apply leverage you have to find a network marketing company that has a very strong training and personal development program. Please also look at the credentials of the person who wishes to sponsor you. Is he committed to your success? Does your upline have requisite support systems for your training and success? Avoid network marketing companies that boast of automated recruiting system to increase numbers. You never build a network by merely having a recruiting system. Your network will collapse. To increase retention you have to have a proper support organization and training that builds relationships. Do not join a company that focuses on recruiting and numbers.
Next important thing is that people must see value in the product. Many network marketing companies fail because they do not have a product that can sustain the business. You can’t fool all people at all times. Network marketing is a relationship business that is built on good faith and recommendation. You just cannot build a strong belief system based on a weak product. The product has to sells itself because of its intrinsic value only then the retention rate of distributors in the business will increase. Leverage can work only when retention rates are high.
Lastly and most importantly people want a fair compensation for their effort in the business. There are network marketing companies that distribute only 10% to 30% of the total revenue to the distributors. An outstanding company is the one which is committed to distributing over 50% of the Group Volume (GV) to its distributors. People will stay in the business if they make money. Some compensation plans are heavily loaded in favor of the ‘heavy hitters’ or the people who reach higher levels in the business. These plans do not adequately compensate the new distributors for their effort in the business. This results in new distributors getting disillusioned and dropping out. This is very bad for the business. For leveraging to work retention is the golden key. To succeed in network marketing the business model or the compensation plan has to work correctly. Initial cost of joining the business, risk involved, return on investment (ROI) and the breakeven point have to be properly balanced out. The new distributors will stay in business if they can recoup their initial investment in the shortest possible time and start making profit from the business. The plan has not only to be generous but also very equitable and rewards those who put effort into their business. If the new distributors can recoup their initial investment and can be in profit within few weeks of joining the business, they will not leave the business. This makes great business sense because the retention levels will be very high and the leveraging power of the business will kicks in.
Leveraging which is the basic principle behind network marketing can work only if the network you create has the power not only to sustain itself through high retention rate but also to expand itself exponentially once it is created and set up correctly. This can happen if there are right kind of training and support systems, belief in the quality of the product and a fair, equitable and generous compensation plan in which new distributors can start earning money in the shortest possible time.

D. The compensation plan must be equitable, just and work with numbers. The most important thing about a compensation plan is that it should work with numbers. E. Choose a network marketing opportunity with systems for duplication. Why most businesses fail is because they do not have systems in place. How to Build Your Belief System for Network Marketing Success?

Network marketing is a recommendation business and not a sales business. You will fail if you treat your business like a sales person. You can recommend a product or service only if you belief in it. Only then you will be able to transfer your enthusiasm.
If you do not have belief in your product it will show in your body language, in your eyes and behavior pattern. Your heart and mind have to flow in one direction if you are to succeed in this business. If you are artificial you will be found out. The business will not work for you if your head and heart pull in different directions. If you wish to sponsor someone into the business then you must have belief that network marketing companies work and it is one of the best business models to make huge amounts of passive income within a very short time period without financial risks associated with traditional businesses.
How does one build the belief system to succeed? The most important thing is to find a great company, with a strong management and a unique product. Try and find a niche that cannot be replicated easily. If you are promoting a single niche product it is easy to understand and recommend. Can you recommend ten movies to a friend? Your friend will get confused and will not watch a single movie recommended by you. People mistakenly think that a multi-product network marketing companies will increase the chances of increasing their turn over and therefore increase their pay checks. Nothing can be further from truth. In today’s world a high quality niche product that is not easily replicable works much better.
To build the belief you must use the product and find out the benefit for yourself. This is not a selling business. This is a recommendation business based on faith people have in you. You cannot fake this faith by not using the product yourself and try selling it to others. There are people who believe that product is just a vehicle to build their network marketing business. Any product will do as long as it brings in money. Such thinking will result in selling a product rather than building a network marketing business that is built on good faith and belief.
Another important thing about belief is that initially when we join a network marketing company our belief system is weak. We have not used the products sufficiently. We know very little about the company we are promoting and we do not fully understand the business model. Most importantly we are not making any money so we don’t have the confidence. Initially we have to make great effort to learn everything about the business, the product and the company. In other words to build our belief system we have to train our self’s very hard.
The easiest way to build your belief system is to find a mentor. This is someone you has achieved success in your network marketing company. You must have a mentor to be a mentor. You want a mastermind group of like-minded people who want YOU to succeed. Want to make a million dollars? Mastermind with millionaires. If you want to make $50,000 a year, then mastermind with people who make $50,000 a year. Consider this VERY carefully: For most people, their yearly income is the average of their 5 closest friends. Do YOUR 5 closest friends have what you want? If not, why would you EVER listen to their opinions on business? Say you want to invest in real estate. Would you ask the person who rents one home? Or the person with 31 homes, 12 townhouses, 2 farms, one in Hamilton, one in Canterbury, and 16 commercial properties? To build a business, why on earth would you listen to people who've never done it? You've got to evaluate who you take advice from. To build your belief system you have to be in company of those who believe in themselves and have succeeded in the business. Your emotional integrity plays a vital part in your power of personal persuasion. When you have that quality your prospects will listen with more than just their ears. Your emotions will bypass the prospect’s defenses and get to his heart.

Your internal belief system will be strong when you sincerely believe that it’s right to help people become more financially secure. It’s right to help people discover a way to better health, personal growth and increased happiness. You cannot sell anything effectively unless you are sold on it yourself. The key is to become a user of your network marketing companies product. Once you start using the product that shows results, you will start sharing the benefits of your experience. These benefits will fire your inner emotional power. You will then communicate facts. You will share values through emotions. If your listener concludes that your product has great value, it will be because you’ve shared your emotions and supported them with essential facts. It is important that your emotional power be the servant of intelligence. The closer you are to the unity of truth, the more power you will generate. It is only when knowledge and emotions combine and when heart and mind are one great success is achieved. Once you develop the belief system you won’t need any artificial means to find prospects. You will attract prospective associates to you with your warmth, conviction and natural enthusiasm, all of which flow from the center of your being. None of these have to be artificially produced. • To save petrol costs try and qualify your leads before you decide to drive down to meet them. If you are prospecting someone who is indecisive, lazy and complains constantly, it is better to keep him or her in the back burner and focus on people who are excited about the business. You don’t want to find yourself driving miles just to talk to someone and after two hours find out that they are not interested. A very good way to qualify what type of prospect you are dealing with is to ask a few questions about their dreams and self-development. If you find that they have no energy in their words, or are not doing anything to improve themselves then you can very well save lots of time and petrol.
• As your network grows you will have to find leaders in your team who are highly motivated and work with them for the betterment of the team.
• The most important cost in your business is the leads and how you generate them. The cost of generating the leads and converting them into your business can make or break your network marketing business. You have to learn how to minimize these costs and be effective. This is something you have to understand and perfect if you have to succeed in this business.
• Hold local training sessions besides the company’s training sessions with all your team members. This may save cost to your team members.
• Educate all the team members about proper cash flow management when building the business.

More than 90% people who join network marketing fail. This figure is common to all businesses and not limited to MLM. These figures by themselves should not dissuade people from joining network marketing because even a little bit of correct education on marketing and lead generation can lift any average person with normal intelligence into the top ten percent and you can make a great life style change as you will be working flexi hours from home.

The two main reasons why people fail in MLM are because sooner than later they either run out of Quality Leads or Cash Flow to run their business. It takes time, money and effort to build a network that will start paying back. In network marketing you are like a rocket which burns 90% of its fuel at the time of take off. Once you reach the outer orbit it is cruise control.

Leads are lifeline of MLM business. In the traditional approach we are asked by our up line leaders to make a list of all our friends and family members. We are told that we will never run out of leads because once we sponsor a few people into our business then we can start working with their warm market list. For this approach to work one has to be very persistent with their effort and face a lot of rejection. Most of the leads generated through this approach are also of very poor quality because they join the business due to the relationship they have with the sponsor rather than any desire to improve their financial life. Although warm market leads are free it takes a herculean effort to build a network because leads lack the right motivation and also the attrition rate is very high. Sometimes people get lucky and catch a heavy hitter in their net but this is normally an exception and not a rule. Until and unless you are a bull dog with lion’s heart you will find it very difficult to become successful using this model. Some do succeed but it is not for a normal person.

Leads generated through marketing approach have the advantage of being better motivated as they are looking for a business opportunity. The problem with such leads is that there is no relationship of trust with the sponsor which is very important if one is to succeed in network marketing. The leads generated through marketing can also be very expensive. Until and unless you have very deep pockets you will soon run out of cash to fund your business. This is because 95% of the lead you generate will not even join your business opportunity. For example if it costs $10 to generate a lead through online or offline advertising then 100 leads will cost $1000 to generate. This is definitely not a sustainable or a duplicable model until and unless the returns from the opportunity are very high. THE POWER OF COMPUNDING IN NETWORK MARKETING

If you throw in the towel after just a few weeks or months of not receiving favorable results then there is no chance of you making any money in the network marketing business. It takes time to master any sort of techniques that will bring you an income. People who go “opportunity hopping” rather than commit to learning how to market one opportunity correctly will remain broke.

I have met many “network marketers” who give up on opportunities when they meet slightest amount of problems. They want to make easy money. They jump from one opportunity to another hoping against hope that they will hit a gold mine. They continue to sing the same song and dance the same dance, each time with a NEW company’s name behind their act? The truth is that such people have ZERO INTEGRITY.

By ‘opportunity hopping’ these people sabotage their OWN ability to make any money regardless of what business opportunity they join. They also confuse the people whom they sponsor with their confused state of mind. Either you have to be consistent or learn to accept being broke.

NETWORK MARKETING WORKS ON COMPOUNDING PRINCIPLE

UNFOTUNATELY MOST PEOPLE DO NOT COMPREHEND HOW THE POWER OF COMPOUNDING ACTUALLY WORKS.

Albert Einstein, who had perhaps one of the finest mind in the history of mankind, once remarked “One of the most amazing phenomenon of our universe is the power of compounding”. It is equally amazing that so few fully understand either its power or application.
For ease of understanding let us take an example. Suppose you start your network marketing business by sponsoring one person in the first month. Imagine too that you teach/help this person to sponsor one person. Let us say this teaching and sponsoring process takes one month. In month two if you personally sponsor one more person and the person whom you sponsored in the first month also sponsors one person then you will have 4 people in your team. In month three you will have 8 persons in your team through sponsoring and training. If the same process is repeated month after month your organization will grow in the following manner:-

Month 1: You + 1 = 2
Month2: 2 +2 = 4
Month3: 4+4 = 8
Month 4: 8+8 = 16
Month 5: 16+16 = 32
Month 6: 32+32 = 64
Month 7: 64+64 = 128
Month8: 128+128 = 256
Month9: 256+256 = 512
Month10: 512+512 =1024
Month 11: 1024+1024 = 2048
Month12: 2048+2048 = 4096

If you observe the table you will find that after three months your team has only 8 members. Nothing exciting. You might be subsiding your purchases. But wait…..sixth month you organization will grow to 64. You will be earning a little money to sustain your interest but NO BIG DEAL. Your life and financial future have not changed. On completion of 9 months your team has now grown to 512. Now for the first time you are seeing the fruits of your labour. There is a renewed understanding that the business actually works. The fun is not over …… in the 12th month your organization is taking a life of its own. It has now grown to 4096. Each member of your team is trying to secure his/her financial future. Your organization is not only big but growing at a faster rate without much effort from you. Your passive income is flowing in ever greater amounts each month. You feel rich for the first time in your life. The essential fact is that during the 12 month period you have only sponsored 12 people into the business and trained them to conduct the business properly. The remainder of your network has been created through power of leverage. In the first month your organization had just two people in it. In the twelfth month it grew by 2048 people for the same effort on your part. This is the amazing power of compounding in network marketing.

If compounding and growing a network is so simple then why don’t most people succeed? The reason is very simple but most people don’t get it ………. the power of networking and compounding takes time to take effect.

The Tunneling Effect

In network marketing when you first start out, all the hard work takes place upfront, at the beginning. You have nothing to show for your effort. This is called the ‘Tunneling Effect’. There is darkness all around and little hope. This is where most people give up because they do not see any results for their sacrifice, hard work and effort. Most people who come to network marketing come from jobs where they are paid by the hour. They are accustomed to seeing a direct correlation between the hours they have worked and the compensation they have received. If they worked 5 hours they expect 5 hours pay. In a network marketing business one has to think like an entrepreneur. When an entrepreneur starts a business there is a gestation period. He knows that profits will flow in due course of time if the business is set up correctly. An entrepreneur works one hundred hours and gets paid nothing. And once the business is set up he can work five hours and get paid for one thousand hours. People in jobs who enter network marketing have to go through a shift in mental attitude. Initially network marketing does not pay you by the hour. If there is little patience and perseverance at this stage then there is not only light at the end of the tunnel but full glory of the sun. Anyone who has become rich has passed through this dark tunnel. There is no escaping it.

In network marketing you have to learn and teach people to take a long-time approach to the growth of their business. It takes time to grow organizations. It takes time to create depth and ongoing duplication. It takes time to develop a team and create serious residual income. Those who can develop and maintain a mind set of an entrepreneur understand this and succeed. Those who fail to grasp this simple truth fail in this business.

# THE PRODUCT HAS TO BE REMARKABLE

If there is no EMOTIONAL attachment to the product you will not succeed. You can never recommend a product to someone if you cannot become emotionally involved with it. Network marketing is referral based marketing. You can never transfer your enthusiasm to someone if you don’t have feelings for the product. Here comes problem with companies promoting multiple products through network marketing. The idea is that you will generate more volumes through more products. In fact reverse happens. Firstly no company, howsoever good, can produce hundreds of goods that are unique. So we have a situation of hundreds of mediocre products about which the distributor has very little knowledge or emotional attachment. There is hope that if we throw so many products at the customers that some of them will stick and volumes will get generated. Network marketing works with niche quality products that have special qualities that need to be sold through transference of knowledge and enthusiasm. Network marketing does not work with ordinary products that have little or no intrinsic value.

When you promote multiple of opportunities and products, you undermine your network. If you try to appeal to everybody with your multiple streams of products & services, no one will take you seriously. This is because you have failed to create an identity in their mind. The net result is…..

Loss of focus = loss of power. You ruin your quality perception, because, to consumers, specializing = quality. You will struggle to promote numerous unrelated products & services that you don't know well. You lose efficiency, competitiveness, and you get a smaller market share. You are better off to do your research, choose the RIGHT opportunity and product, and FOCUS ON THAT ONE!

If you are focused you will attract customers & associates you want. They will be excited because they feel that they are a part of something big. It will create a belief in their minds that you'll be a big success. A specialist always knows more and a better quality product always wins over hundreds of mediocre products and services. You will win if you remain focused in a quality niche market.

The product has to be so remarkable that people should be willing to buy it even if there is no compensation plan involved. The product has to be priced right. If you start explaining why the product is so expensive then you will become a sales person rather than a network marketer. In any network marketing organization there will be around 80% of the people who are only users of the product and will never build the business. If the product is not remarkable or priced correctly then these people will stop using the product. The business simply cannot succeed if people do not find a great value in the product.

The product should be such that it is not readily available in the super markets and neighborhood stores. It does not make sense for someone to buy a product that they can buy cheaper from a store next door. The product has to be unique and remarkable. The product has to be such that it is difficult to replicate it. If everyone starts replicating the product then the price starts to come down and the margins get squeezed out. The company will go out of business and so will you.

Most importantly the product should be a consumable product that people use every day and need to buy every week or month. In case there are no volumes in product sales/consumption there will be no income.

# THE COMPENSATION PLAN MUST BE EQUITABLE, JUST AND WORK WITH NUMBERS

The most important thing about a compensation plan is that it should work with numbers. If it works for only 5% of the people and not for the other 95% then the compensation plan will not succeed. The business plan has to be equitable and just. Newly sponsored people will remain in the network only if they see the plan working for them. They should not only breakeven but be in profit within the shortest possible time. You can lead people only if you can take them one step closer to their dreams. You have to show them small success before they are prepared to take the long march with you. You are doomed from the very start if the plan does not work with numbers. The plan has to work for average ordinary people. This is because most people who join your business will be average and ordinary. The business plan has to work for average part time workers who make the numbers. If the plan does not work with numbers then simply walk away.

Network marketing statistics show that on an average distributor sponsors 2.7 persons into their home business. This means that any compensation plan that requires more than 3 persons in their frontline will struggle to survive. Binary plans that require only two persons to be put in the front line have proved to be most successful in the industry. Any successful network marketer will tell you that the main source of his income in network marketing comes from two to three people in his team. If this be the case then compensation plans that are too wide just do not work. Binary plans cause spill over’s that support the effort of the new members in the team. The new members feel nice when their upline member place someone below them in their team. This helps build relationships that are essential in network marketing. Always choose a plan that does not force you to go wide and rewards you to work deep. Working in depth helps create relationship with your team members.

Any compensation plan that rewards for recruiting into the system is illegal. Most likely such plans are illegal pyramids with no tangible product in the offing. In illegal pyramids the moment you stop recruiting your income will stop. Such companies camouflage their intentions by selling products that have little or no value. Sooner than later authorities close down these companies for illegal practices. You should never become part of such scams and lose your hard earned money and effort.

For a network marketing company to be ethical and legal the money in the compensation plan has to flow out from sale of products. The joining fee for such companies is normally very low because there is no money to be made from sponsoring people. This helps in sponsoring new people into the business because the start up costs is very low. Check the business systems of a company before you decide to join them. Go for a system that respects people and attracts likeminded individuals.

To succeed in this business you need a tested, proven, duplication system. The system has to be very simple or it will not be duplicated by ordinary members of your team. Everyone you sponsor and everyone they sponsor needs a step by step system to get their business off to a fast start. These systems can be online, offline, one on one, cold market, warm market, retailing, recruiting or becoming a mentor to their personally sponsored people. The system must also help to develop the individual members and build leadership. A person does not need all the techniques to be successful but the system should make these available to choose from that is best suited for his style of business.

To the best of my knowledge there is no company in network marketing that provides a comprehensive, realistic and affordable system to help you build your business. This is because it is the job of the network marketer to build his own business that is best suited to his style. The company provides you the backup system so that stocking, distribution and customer complaints/queries are taken care of. They pay you generously to spread the word and bring in new customers.

Every company has individual groups of entrepreneurial reps who put together a system to help you build your business. You cannot succeed without the help of these people and the support systems they provide. These are the people you want to find and work with. If you want to leverage your time and effort you have to join one of these groups to succeed. They help not only you but the people you sponsor into the business. So said John Milton Fogg at the Randy Gage MLM Bootcarnp I attended on the Big Island of Hawaii in October, 1995. It is the single most important lesson I've learned as a student of Network Marketing.

Of course, we all know that the people we associate with have some kind of influence on our results in life, good or bad, but what some people don't know is that we have a choice and a responsibility. It is up to us to be gatekeepers and to insure that we allow only the positive influence into our lives.

The people that you associate with can influence your results
in the following ways:

1.) Positive people can move you forward in the direction of your goals. The momentum that can be created in your organization through the synergy of a powerful alliance of success-oriented individuals can mean the difference between slow growth and massive growth.

2.) Apathetic people can keep you stuck at the status quo. When you associate with people who have no vision or goals in life, you begin to lose your own vision. You don't really need to leave that stress-inducing job, do you? It's okay to plod through life. (Same old, same old!)

3.) Negative people can move you backward into self-doubt and failure. People with a poor mental attitude can act as a cancer in our lives. They are not happy unless they're miserable and they are happier if you are miserable with them.

So why is it important to "recruit up" and how can you master this important key to success in Network Marketing? Very simply, success breeds success. It is planned - it's never an accident. It's why I say that it is an absolute necessity for you to recruit people who are "better at the game" than you are. Not only will it grow your organization, it will grow you.

To "Recruit up" means to sponsor individuals who have already been successful in business or allied fields. These people already have a winner's mentality. They are not content trading time for dollars because they are accustomed to designing a life.

Read the bio's of all the double diamonds, ruby platinums and triple star fleet admirals in your company newsletter and you'll see that a large percentage were highly successful in real estate, law, medicine, were highly visible members of the clergy or were business owners. They were extremely committed and overworked.

In many cases, they dropped everything and plunged ahead with radical zeal when they saw the opportunity for residual income in Network Marketing. They brought other high achievers with them. A mistake that many novice Networkers make is to recruit someone who is in need of a job, or what I call journey Of The Broke.

Many people who are looking for a J.O.B. need a job with a salary, not a commission-only, investment-required business. We're all for charity and helping others , but someone with a poverty consciousness and security-driven mentality will only pull you down and keep your focus on limitations - instead of possibilities. Do you see why your income is the average of the incomes of the ten people you most closely associate with?

Choose your inner circle wisely. Once you succeed you'll have plenty to share with those less fortunate than yourself. This is not to say that people who have come upon temporary (as long as they see it as temporary) hard times wouldn't be successful candidates for your Network Marketing program. The key is in their attitude, desire and passion to break loose of the chains holding them back.

Someone recently downsized out of a job might be the next superstar in your organization, but if a person has a generational history of no desire, dreams or vision - your Network Marketing program is not the place to save him/her.

Top performers in all fields have a passion for what they do. Have you heard the story about the young man who sought to learn about life from an accomplished master? Applied to Network Marketing, it goes something like this. . . . The student went to the river one day to seek out his master. The master asked his new pupil, "What is it that you seek to know?" "I want to become a power player in Network Marketing," he replied. At that point the master dunked his pupil's head in the river and held it down for what seemed to be an eternity.

When the young man finally arose, gasping he screamed, "Why did you do that?" The master laughed and said, "When you truly want to succeed in Network Marketing as much as you wanted to breathe a few moments ago, you'll become massively successful in our industry." When you want success badly enough, you'll guard who you allow into your inner circle. If you were to hang out with ten people who each earned $25,000 per year working for someone else, how qualified would any of them be to tell you how to earn $1,000,000 per year or more?

The answer is obvious: none of them is qualified. They have never produced the result that you wish to model. Either you take your friends with you in your quest for financial freedom, or you make new friends who are already financially free or on their way to becoming financially free.

What are some practical action steps that you can take to
recruit high achievers into your Network Marketing business

1.)Get a business name.
You'll do much better approaching successful business people if your business has a high-powered name. If it's discount long distance service that you're selling consider "Communication Cost Control Consultants." If your Network Marketing company sells nutritional products consider "Cutting Edge Nutraceuticals" or "Herbal Health Consultants." Your business name should not include your Network Marketing company name. A good business name makes a far better impression than "Hi, I'm John Doe,distributor of XYZ products." It's much better - and totally honest - to say that you're a cost control consultant or a nutraceutical rep.

It's a simple process to register your business name as a d.b.a. at your county clerk's office. You may prefer to incorporate, but it's more expensive.

2.) Get professional business cards and stationary.
Never hand out information packs consisting of bad copies of bad copies!

3.) Define what you mean by "winner."
What characteristics would identify someone as successful? Would their ideals match your values? Know who you're looking for or they could walk right up to you and you wouldn't know it.

4.) Be the person you wish to attract.
It is a funny thing about life - we attract to ourselves what we are. Successful people come into our lives once we begin to see ourselves as successful.

5.) Make your warm list.
Go through your warm list and find friends, friends of friends, friends of relatives, etc. who are high achievers. Get personal referrals for people who fit your success profile so that you can say "So-and-so suggested that I contact you. . . ."

6.) Make your cold List.
Get a list of every person in the most expensive neighborhoods in your area. Send each one a post card every month offering a free cassette or video about your product or opportunity. Repeat mailings are a must! The ones who respond are your hot prospects. Approach them as one professional to another. Send a neat, concise pre-approach pack and follow up by phone within 48 hours of the time that they receive it. If your products are related to health and nutrition use the same strategy to approach medical doctors, chiropractors and nutritionists. This method has greatly increased my retail volume.

7.) Be visible in the market that you wish to influence.
People will join you only if they know, like and trust you. Mix with the well-to-do at a variety of civic functions. Attend Chamber of Commerce meetings, join business associations, serve in an advisory position for your local junior achievement group, become a patron of the arts and attend functions hosted by local political party organizations. You'll not only make new friends, you'll find many people ideally suited to branch out into the product distribution revolution- Network Marketing!

8.) Target the people you want in your organi- zation.
Assign numbers to each lead,"one" being the most desirable and so on. Make a list of selection criteria. List reasons why they would be successful in your Network Marketing company.

9.) Plan your approach strategy.
How will the individuals that you've targeted benefit from a relationship with you and your Network Marketing company? If you can't think of any benefits, they certainly won't either. It's important that you identify what's in it for them. Most people are tuned into radio station WIFM (What's In It For Me?) and will join your organization if the answer to this question is clear. Listing the advantages of residual income and the benefits of using your exclusive products would be a good place to start.

10.) Follow through.
Be persistent. Ask until you obtain the result that you want. It may not come from every person that you've targeted, but this "ask until" rule will increase your chances of attracting some of them.

11.) Don't be intimidated.
You're a professional offering a business opportunity that's the wave of the future, and you're offering products that are, in many cases, years ahead of anything offered through traditional distribution channels. Don't be afraid to approach your "chicken" list - outstanding people who are already achieving successful results in their lives. An association with this type of person will elevate your own level of thinking and increase the number of successful results that you produce. Don't worry if they're already working long hours. Remember: If you want to get something done, ask a busy person. You'll be amazed at how much time busy people find to build a Network!

The key is discernment. Don't prejudge anyone, but use common sense. Your business is a major investment of time and resources. Let no one side-track you from your vision of success. This is absolutely essential! Keep it constantly in front of you and keep company with other people who have a similar vision.

YOU MUST HAVE BELIEF IN THE PRODUCT TO TRANSFER YOUR ENTHUSIASM

In order to transfer your enthusiasm you must have BELIEF in the product or service. If you do not have belief in your product it will show in your body language, in your eyes and behavior pattern. Your heart and mind have to flow in one direction if you are to succeed in this business. If you are artificial you will be found out. The business will not work for you if your head and heart pull in different directions. If you wish to sponsor someone into the business then you must have belief that network marketing works and it is one of the best business models to make huge amounts of passive income within a very short time period without financial risks associated with traditional businesses.

How does one build the belief system to succeed? The most important thing is to find a great company, with a strong management and a unique product. We are lucky in this respect. In our case Brad Sugar who has one of the finest business minds has done his research thoroughly. He had found a company with great credentials. Its management consisted of people with high integrity. He flew down to check everything and meet with the management.

Above all the company is producing a niche market health product that cannot be replicated easily. It is a single product company therefore easy to understand and recommend. Can you recommend ten movies to a friend? Your friend will get confused and will not watch a single movie recommended by you. People mistakenly think that a multi-product company will increase the chances of increasing their turn over and therefore increase their pay checks. Nothing can be further from truth. In today’s world a high quality niche product that is not easily replicable works much better. This is borne out by the phenomenal success of companies like Monavie. The company turnover has gone up from zero to one billion dollars in a matter of three years and they market only one product. The company is doubling its plant capacity every 6 months. Another important thing about belief is that initially when we join a network marketing company our belief system is weak. We have not used the products sufficiently. We know very little about the company we are promoting and we do not fully understand the business model. Most importantly we are not making any money so we don’t have the confidence. Initially we have to make great effort to learn everything about the business, the product and the company. In other words to build our belief system we have to train our self’s very hard.

The easiest way to build your belief system is to find a mentor. This is someone you has achieved success in the business. You must have a mentor to be a mentor. You want a mastermind group of like-minded people who want YOU to succeed. Want to make a million dollars? Mastermind with millionaires. If you want to make $50,000 a year, then mastermind with people who make $50,000 a year. Consider this VERY carefully: For most people, their yearly income is the average of their 5 closest friends. Do YOUR 5 closest friends have what you want? If not, why would you EVER listen to their opinions on business? Say you want to invest in real estate. Would you ask the person who rents one home? Or the person with 31 homes, 12 townhouses, 2 farms, one in Hamilton, one in Canterbury, and 16 commercial properties? To build a business, why on earth would you listen to people who've never done it? You've got to evaluate who you take advice from. To build your belief system you have to be in company of those who believe in themselves and have succeeded in the business. If you cannot meet your mentor in flesh and blood then watch videos and listen to tapes of people who have achieved great results from the business and whom you admire.

Your business will grow as your belief system goes up. If you are not succeeding in your network marketing business please check your belief system first. Without a strong belief in what you are doing you are doomed to fail from the very start. If you wish to succeed build your belief system first. Let your mind and heart speak as one unit.

Once you find your belief system, you’ll find sponsoring to be one of the most fun-filled experiences you’ve ever had. Your belief will take you from being a very shy, who is afraid of speaking to strangers, to a crusader who is ready to “share” his product and opportunity at the drop of a hat! Once you have the BELIEF you will not be defensive of your program. You will create a positive and an emotionally surcharged atmosphere where people will beg to be members of your team. This electrifying atmosphere is only possible when you speak from your heart that is backed by a strong belief system. The emotional impact that you produce arises from your inner relationship with your product and program, not from some kind of formula. Emotional power is - thoughtlessness. It bypasses your thinking process, for it has become you. It is your belief system and not something you consciously do or think about at the moment.
