A much less elegant solution (but sometimes much faster) is to use the table output format and the filter fonctionality, eg for your last exemple:
aws ec2 describe-instances --output table --filter Name=tag:environment,Values="prod"
and just grep what field you want :-)

i think you are trying to swap values in line 28 and 29 of LinearSearchMode.java, but by
list.set(index - 1, list.get(index));
the index - 1 value is changed now and setting
list.set(index, list.get(index - 1));
just makes two duplicate value in row (preceding value of index i is lost). am i right?

Thanks your solution works like a charm. If you're going to process mkv files you're going to need libvpx library:

sudo apt-get install libvpx-dev

and add in the configure part of ffmpeg:

Thank you for this. I was able to successfully build a fresh ffmpeg on my Ubuntu 12.10 system. I'm still tearing my hair out, though, because is still plays no audio with my mp4/AAC videos. I swear I've looked at everything, and I seem to have the correct codecs present and enabled. Without aac audio working with ffmpeg, I can't in turn use Openshot or other video editing software that relies on ffmpeg. The audio in these vids plays fine in VLC and totem player. Any ideas?

Hi NKR,
I am trying to install Hadoop-2.2.0 on cygwin. Tried following all the steps above. Could not locate the statement "CLASSPATH=`cygpath -wp "$CLASSPATH"` and so added it just after the statment

# CLASSPATH initially contains $HADOOP_CONF_DIR
CLASSPATH="${HADOOP_CONF_DIR}"

and saved and exited.

Now, when I try the command "hadoop version" at my localhost, I get a response "-bash: hadoop: command not found

Please help me out in resolving this.

I had a problem on step 3. It could not find libgpac1-dev. I ended up building FFmpeg without it. Seemed to build fine. All codecs are enabled. I'm running ubuntu 12.04 on a fresh install.
