I. Understanding Graphic Design

Graphic design is a form of visual communication using images to convey information or messages as effectively as possible. In graphic design, text, images are also considered as a result of abstraction of symbols that can be sounded. Graphic design is applied in communication design and fine art. Like other types of design, graphic design can refer to the process of manufacture, design methods, the resulting product (design), or any discipline that is used (design). The art of graphic design include cognitive skills and visual skills, including typography, illustration, photography, image processing, and layout.

Cognitive ability, If you use plain language is cognitive thinking, logic, reason, and the like. So if say a graphic designer must have the cognitive ability. Must have a lot of insight into a wide + creativity. Insight not only relates to the design but also a lot of things such as culture, technology, and lifestyle in the community. II. Basic Principles of Design

The basic principle of design is the organization of the basic elements of design by taking into account the principles in creating and applying creativity. Frank Jeff kin (1997:245) classifies the principles of design to be: unity, diversity, balance, rhythm, harmony, proportion, scale, and emphasis.

a. Unity (unity)

Unity is an effort to incorporate design elements into a form that is proportional to each other and merge into a media. Unity of design is important in a design, without any unity of design elements will split stand on their own do not have balance and harmony is intact.

b. Diversity (variety)

The diversity in the design aims to avoid a monotonous design. It required a change and contrast accordingly. g. Scale (scale)

Scale associated with visibility or vision with elements that have been raised (factor of legibility). Scale is also very useful for the creation of suitability shape or object within a design.

h. Emphasis (emphasis)

Frank Jeff kin (1997:246) states that: "In the emphasis, all emphasis is no emphasis, if all highlighted, then there is nothing you'll enjoy. The existence of an emphasis in design is essential to avoid the impression of monotony. The emphasis may be on the type of letter, space, color, and others will make the design becomes interesting when done in a proportion sufficient and not excessive.

III. COLOR

2. Analogous Color: mix of colors adjacent to each other in the color circle. For example: yellow, green and blue, blue, purple and red.

3. Complementary colors: colors that blend together in a circle opposite or contradictory, but rather support each other. For example: yellow mixed with purple, orange combined with blue, red combined with green.

Aleo Software provides a free XML driven external Flash SWF preloader. The preloader can change it's stage width, height, preloader color and background color according to the parameters defined in a XML file. This tutorial will show you how to customize and use it.

Step 1

Download the free Flash SWF preloader file designed by Aleo Software at here.

Unzip the downloaded package, you will get two files:
preloader.swf
preloader.xml

Step 2

Open the preloader.xml with a text editor, e.g. Windows Notepad. The code in this file is as following:

You can overlay a transparent Flash SWF movie on an image with HTML code, which will make the image just looking like the background of the Flash movie, but without modifying the Flash file.

Look for the code that embeds the Flash Movie. It should look similar to this:

To overlay the Flash movie on the image file, there are two things to be done:

Make the Flash movie transparent.
Add HTML code which adds image to the bottom of the Flash movie.

To make the Flash movie background transparent, you need to add the WMODE parameters to the HTML code.

Add the following parameter to the OBJECT tag:

After edit, the HTML code should look similar to below. The new changes are shown in red.

Firstly, make a Flash music player with Aleo Flash MP3 Player Builder.

In "Add Songs" panel, select your MP3 files to the list.
In "Flash Player" panel, select your favorite Flash player.
In "Publish" panel, "Publish Options", select the second option "Generate one Flash player, and incorporate all of the music files and track list file to it", then click "Publish" button, and generate the Flash player SWF file.

Step 2

In this step, you can incorporate the Flash music player to your Flash banner with Aleo Flash Intro Banner Maker.

In "Background" panel, select the option "Add images and Flash movies to background", then click button "Add Image", select the Flash player SWF file created in the previous step.

After you have included the Flash SWF file to your HTML page, you can open the HTML page with your HTML editor and edit the HTML code.

Look for the code that embeds the Flash Movie. It should look similar to this:

To make the background transparent, you need to add the WMODE parameters to the HTML code.
1. Add the following parameter to the OBJECT tag:

To make the Flash movie floating on other elements of the HTML page, you need to use the div layers. A div layer is like a window inside a window, which lets you define an area inside your HTML page, and you can set the layer on top of the rest of your HTML page with a property "z-index".

The style position:relative; of the first <div style="position:relative;"> layer keeps this layer in the current position.

The style position:absolute; top:20px; left:20px; defines the position of the second layer is 0px to the top, 20px to the left of its container, the first div. The z-index:1 defines the layer will be on top of the rest of your HTML page.

Step 1: Make Flash MP3 Player with Aleo Flash MP3 Player Builder

Launch the software, in step 1, select at least one MP3 file.
Click "Flash Player" on the left navigation bar, then select your favorite Flash music player.

Step 2: Edit XML file.
