Tutorial

In order to install a Counter Strike 1. 6 dedicated server, you need :
a. processor 1000 ghz, memory 256 ram
b. Connection to internet
c. 300 - 400 MB free space on disk

You shall have to follow a few steps :
1. Connect to the internet

2. Download here the CS 1.6 Server Creator installer and unzipp it anywhere on disk.

3. Create an new directory on your disk and name it HLDS . It can be named anyhow but we
shall use HLDS because it`s classic .

4. Now doubleclick on installer.exe and when the selection window appeares you select the new directory HLDS .

Hit OK and wait a few moments .

A blue window will appear on screen displaying the scroll of the installation .

At this point the installer downloads and installs all the server`s components in your HLDS directory.

It can take some time to do it, depending on the internet connection , so have a little pacience .When the installer finishes his work , check out the HLDS directory and see if it has approximativly 315 MB

If it has , then everything it`s ok and if it hasn`t 315 MB you`ll have to repeat this step .Open the HLDS directory ; it should look like this :


Now open the cstrike folder , that should look like this :

5. Next step is to set the server up for accepting non steam clients . In order to do that download you can use one ofe these methods:

5.1 Rcommended - Use Dual protocol method (47+48). Download Dproto (latest version), double click it and choose as installation folder, the main directory of your server (HLDS). Then go to HLDS\cstrike\addons\metamod, open plugins.ini and edit this line there:

win32 addons\dproto\dproto.dll
5.2 The old swds.dll No Stream patcher. Download it fron this link . Double click the exe and chose as installation folder, the main directory of your server (HLDS).

If you want a Stem Only dedicated server, just skip this step !

6. Next step is to configure te server.cfg in order to make your server work on the internet . Go to HLDS\cstrike folder and open server.cfg with Wordpad or Notepad.

Edit your server name and any other cvar you like (only if you know what you are doing). Save the file and exit.

7. Add these lines in server.cfg . They will make your server visible in game`s Internet list of servers.

8. No go to HLDS\cstrike\liblist.gam , open it with Notepad or Wordpad and add this line:

gamedll "addons\metamod\dlls\metamod.dll"

9. In order to turn the server on, create a shortcut of hlds.exe file on your desktop and double click it. Edit the Server Name and chose your map, port and RCON Password and click Start Server. The hlds.exe file is located inside your main directory (HLDS).

The installer automatically installed Amx Mod X 1.8.1 on your server. Amx Mod X helps you to administrate your server ( change maps, set up cvars, kick players) and shows the game statistics .

To see if it runs properly go to the server console and type meta list . If the message recived is:

AMX Mod X - RUN

..then everything it`s OK.

This is pritty much it.

1. Download diablomod.rar here and unzipp it anywhere on disk.

2. Copy th "diablo" folder in HLDS\cstrike\addons\amxmodx (where HLDS in the server's directory)

3. Edit in plugins.ini dbmod.amxx

4. Copy dbmod.amxx in HLDS\cstrike\addons\amxmodx\plugins

Another mode for AMX ModX!
In this mode, less sience-fiction than the others, you use all the weapons from counter strike, one at a time. You start with the guns, first ime glock. If you make frags you advance at usp and so on, then the shotguns. By gathering frags you advance to the superior levels where you get better guns. You cannot buy anything!!!

In order to install, fisrt download here gg_117b_full.rar, and unzipp it anywhere on disk. Then follow these steps:

1. After unzipping you will have two folders: addons and sound. Open addons\amxmodx and you will have five subfolders. Copy every subfolder's content in the folders with the same name from HLDS\cstrike\addons\amxmodx. Attention! Only the content of the foder, and not the folder entirly! The data folder - open it and you will hae a lang folder. Open it and you will have a text file gungame that you should copy into data\lang.

2. Make sure you have installed AMX ModX plus the CStrike mode. In order to see if the cstrike mode is active, enter the amx_modules console and see if it is there.

3. Go to HLDS\cstrike\addons\amxmodx\configs\modules.ini and erase the dot and coma in
front of the line fakemeta, then add the next line under the others (if it is not already there):
csrespawn.

4. Enter the HLDS\cstrike\addons\amxmodx\configs\plugins.ini, where you add under the other, the line: gungame.amxx .

5. Copy he sound folder that you have unzipped in the HLDS\cstrike\sound .

Try the new version of gungame here . This one requires Amxmodx 1.80 . You can find this here.

Respawn Deathamatch Tutorial

This is an AMX ModX mode!

Download latest version of CSDM 2.1.2 here, unzipp it anywhere on disk and open the resulted folder which is addons. Open amxmodx where you have five subfolders. Copy the content of every subfolder into the folders with the same name in HLDS\cstrike\addons\amxmodx (the files from configs go to configs, from plugins to plugins and so on). If the server is started, restart it.

If the installation is successful, you will have some commands for admin that will help you:

csdm_enable - starts the deathmatch mode

csdm_disable -stops the mode

csdm_reload - reloads the mode's configurations

csdm_menu - show the menu on screen

edit_spawns - opens the respawn menu to add and erase spaws (on the newer maps you have to add spaws, otherwise all the "coming back to life" will occur in the base and not on the entire surface of the map)
Guns, /guns, menu, enablemenu, enable_menu - if you give one of these commands the weapon menu reappears.

This is a mode for AMX ModX! If you have not already installed the AMX ModX, than you have to install it first. ( see the AMX ModX Installation page ).

After you have corectlly installed AMX ModX, download here Warcraft3.rar. Unzipp it anywhere on disk. Open it and you will have tree folders: addons, souns and sprites. First open the addons\amxmodx folder, and you will have there several subfolders.

Copy the content (not the entire folder) of every subfolder in the folder with the same name from HLDS\cstrike\addons\amxmodx (where HLDS is the directory you have your server in).

That means that all the files from configs go to configs, from plugins to plugins, from scriptings go to scriptings an so on

. Now edit the plugin: go to HLDS\cstrike|addons\amxmodx\configs\plugins.ini where you write under the other lines: war3ft.amxx (if it is already there, it should not be edited).

The next step is to go to HLDS\cstrike\addons\amxmodx\configs\modules.ini where you erase "the dot and coma" in front of the lines: engine,fakemeta, nvault. It should look like this:

Next step : copy the wc3.css, METAMOD 1, AMX MOD X 1.76d files into HLDS\cstrike.
Then go back to the sound and sprites folders.

Open sound, you have there a folder war3ft, copy it entirely in the HLDS\cstrike\sound. Now open sprites. You find there a warft3 folder, that you copy entirely in the HLDS\cstrike\sprites.

In order to activate the xp save you should go to HLDS\cstrike\addons\amxmodx\configs\war3ft, where you open war3FT using the WordPad and find the line "wc3_save_xp" and change the 0 with 1, and the line "wc3_save_by" set it on name, ip or steamid (default is steam id ).

To see if it was well installed turn on the server and click amx_plugins, and you will see war3.ft.amxx running.

Superhero Mode tutorial

Counter Strike 1.6 server

This is a mode for AMX ModX!
A mode that transforms the player into a superhero with different powers that he earns in time by accumulating "xp", that is experience. Its installation is very simple, and it is made by use o an installer.

So, download superhero.rar here. If it takes longer, be patient! Unzipp it anywhere on disk and enter the superhero folder, doubleclick the AMX Installer.

Follow exactly the same steps as in AMX ModX installation. When you reach the choosing of the folder in which you want to instll, chose the " Select mod directory ".

The electing window will open, and you select HLDS\cstrike (HLDS being the directory where you have the server) and click OK. The installer installs all the components.

If you already have an older version of AMX ModX, the configurations will erase. To see if it works, click in the server's console " amx_plugins".

If everything is ok, you should have there all the plugins of every hero (Anubis , Batman , Superman , Basescu …etc).

You will have additional commends to the simple AMX ModX:

·amx_shsetlevel <nick | @team | @ALL | #userid> <level> - gives the player a certain level ( amx_shsetlevel Gigi 5 - si Gigi is passed to level 5 superhero )

·amx_shsetxp <nick | @team | @ALL | #userid> <xp> - sets the player's xp

·amx_shaddxp <nick | @team | @ALL | #userid> <xp> - adds xp to the player/players

·amx_shban <nick or #userid> - bans the player from using the powers

·amx_shunban <nick | #userid | authid | ip> - unbans the player

·amx_shresetxp - erases all the xp from all the players includig the ones that are not on the server at that moment

·say /superherohelp or /help - opens a helping mod window

·say /herolist - shows the list of available heros

·say /playerskills - shows every player's skills

·say /playerlevels - shows the levels of the players

·say /myheroes - shows the heros you have already chosen and the bids that you have already made

·say /clearpowers - is used to erase all your powers

(in case you want to chose other heroes)

·say /showmenu - shows you the powers menu in case you can chose heroes

·say /drop <hero name> - is used to "through away" a hero in case you want another

·say /whohas <hero name> - shows who has that hero.
