It is sad we are losing such strong and steady leadership. I am hopeful we will continue and expand on the great things that were started in Father Trammell's time here. I knew from the start we would not be able to keep two priests like Father Trammell and Father Kimtis at the same time for long, but to lose them at the same time is a real blow. I pray that St Gregory the Great Church will continue to worship second to none in the diocese when it comes to reverence, respect, and faith in our Lord. We love you guys and you will truly be missed. Stay if you can.

Patrick, We have beautiful fields in the rear of the parish center which include basketball courts, a soccer field and a softball fields, as well as two playgrounds and plenty of open space. Thank you for the interest in the posture of our parish toward both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. I am aware that there were some questions raised on the national level regarding both organizations regarding policies on moral issues. In the end, I carefully examined the information available. The policy of our parish is to stand with the US Bishops’ Conference, which after its own dialogue with both organizations took the stand of acknowledging that there was nothing tangible that tied the Girl Scouts to Planned Parenthood. It also affirmed that the policy of the Boy Scouts toward welcoming persons with homosexual tendencies, while holding up traditional models of personal conduct, mirrors the official teaching of the Church itself. Therefore, I have decided that this parish shall not go beyond the decision of the Catholic Bishops in the United States. The Scouts will continue to be welcomed here as esteemed and valued members of this Catholic community. By the way, I am proudly an Eagle Scout.

It should also be noted that I communicated to our Scout troops my encouragement and the reminder that they are never to teach or expose our troops to anything contrary to the teachings of the Catholic Church while we sponsor them. This careful and balanced approach seems courageous to me.

My wife, daughter and I attended the Noon Mass at your Parish today and quite frankly we are appalled that your Parish Still Hosts the Pro Abortion/ Pro Homosexual Girl Scouts. We are not saying that your local Chapter does this but any money sent to the National or State Girl Scouts lends material support to these 2 great evils as this organization has been on the record for many years supporting both. We attend St Vincent de Paul Parish where our Pastor has taken the courageous stand of banning the Girl Scouts for many years and and as of last year has also banned the Boy Scouts due to their immoral decision of allowing open homosexuals to serve as Scouts. To be true to the Faith and Morals of your Church Father Trammell you should take the same courageous and moral stand. Our daughter who is only 6 is a member of the American Heritage Girls which supports totally Christian Moral values. Thank you for your suggestion. Our website and other digital communication tools are a great asset to our parish and our mission. We do, however, work hard to stay connected to our parishioners who may not have access to computers/Internet or the knowledge or interest to successfully access these tools. Much of our website content is duplicated in our weekly bulletin and our quarterly Good Newsletter. The website does allow for more details, but major programs and contact information are included in the bulletin. The graphics on the screens in church highlighting our programs refer folks to our website and bulletin. We also provide any online surveys (like our recent Participation Survey) as a paper version in our bulletin.

We are able to analyze the number of visitors we have to our website and Facebook pages. Our website averages over 9000 visits a month! Over 14% of our Facebook users are 55 and older and we're seeing that increase over time. Our data reflect a national trend of strong social media growth among older Americans, looking to stay connected to family members and, hopefully, their church. That said, we will continue to make sure our information is available in traditional and digital formats.

Good evening. I would like to take a moment to compliment you, Father, for leading the church forward during these monumental times. One subject that I would like to bring to your attention is the website. Although it is certainly a tremendous way to keep up with the activites associated with the church, I wonder how many of the elderly parishioners are actually "computer savvy" and know how to actually access, and more importantly, navigate around the website. For this reason, I wonder if its possible to do some type of survey and determine if many parishioners are actually viewing the website. And if its determined that many are unable to gleen information from the website, perhaps you might consider putting more information concerning the church is the Sunday bulletins. Just a suggestion.

As someone who really appreciated the opportunity to voice my reasons that I have not been attending church, I was very happy to see your homily responding to the survey posted online. One thing I was surprised about was that you mentioned 3 main reasons people gave, which are relatively easy to address - but you didn't mention reasons harder to address, such as people questioning their faith, for example. I would love to know if there are a significant number of people in that group, and if there are plans to reach out to those who provided contact information. I would assume that this outreach would have to occur in a timely manner, since the perception of no response would drive those people further away.
