How to install the Windows Developer Preview from an ISO image

The Windows Developer Preview is delivered as an .iso image that must be converted into installation media stored on a DVD or a USB flash drive. On Windows 7, the easiest way to convert this file is to use Windows Disc Image Burner. On Windows XP and Windows Vista, a third-party program is required to convert an .iso file into installable media—and DVD burning software often includes this capability.

Note: The .iso file that contains the developer tools requires a large capacity DVD called a DVD-9, as well as a DVD burner that can handle dual-layer (DL) DVDs. Most modern burners should be able to handle this format.

Hackers steal SSL certificates for CIA, MI6, Mossad

The tally of digital certificates stolen from a Dutch company in July has exploded to more than 500, including ones for intelligence services like the CIA, the U.K.'s MI6 and Israel's Mossad, a Mozilla developer said Sunday.

The confirmed count of fraudulently-issued SSL (secure socket layer) certificates now stands at 531, said Gervase Markham, a Mozilla developer who is part of the team that has been working to modify Firefox to blocks all sites signed with the purloined certificates.

Among the affected domains, said Markham, are those for the CIA, MI6, Mossad, Microsoft, Yahoo, Skype, Facebook, Twitter and Microsoft's Windows Update service.

"Now that someone (presumably from Iran) has obtained a legit HTTPS cert for CIA.gov, I wonder if the US gov will pay attention to this mess," Christopher Soghoian, a Washington D.C.-based researcher noted for his work on online privacy, said in a tweet Saturday.

Soghoian was referring to assumptions by many experts that Iranian hackers, perhaps supported by that country's government, were behind the attack. Google has pointed fingers at Iran, saying that attacks using an ill-gotten certificate for google.com had targeted Iranian users .

All the certificates were issued by DigiNotar, a Dutch issuing firm that last week admitted its network had been hacked in July .

The company claimed that it had revoked all the fraudulent certificates, but then realized it had overlooked one that could be used to impersonate any Google service, including Gmail. DigiNotar went public only after users reported their findings to Google.

Criminals or governments could use the stolen certificates to conduct "man-in-the-middle" attacks, tricking users into thinking they were at a legitimate site when in fact their communications were being secretly intercepted.

Google and Mozilla said this weekend that they would permanently block all the digital certificates issued by DigiNotar, including those used by the Dutch government.

Their decisions come less than a week after Google, Mozilla and Microsoft all revoked more than 200 SSL (secure socket layer) certificates for use in their browsers, but left untouched hundreds more, many of which were used by the Dutch government to secure its websites.

"Based on the findings and decision of the Dutch government, as well as conversations with other browser makers, we have decided to reject all of the Certificate Authorities operated by DigiNotar," Heather Adkins, an information security manager for Google, said in a Saturday blog post .

Johnathan Nightingale, director of Firefox engineering, echoed that late on Friday .

"All DigiNotar certificates will be untrusted by Mozilla products," said Nightingale, who also said that the Dutch government had reversed its position of last week -- when it had asked browser makers to exempt its DigiNotar certificates.

"The Dutch government has since audited DigiNotar's performance and rescinded this assessment," Nightingale said. "This is not a temporary suspension, it is a complete removal from our trusted root program."

On Saturday, Piet Hein Donner, the Netherlands's Minister of the Interior, said the government could not guarantee the security of its websites because of the DigiNotar hack, and told citizens not to log into its sites until new certificates had been obtained from other sources.

The DigiNotar breach is being audited by Fox-IT, which told the Dutch government that it was likely certificates for its sites had been fraudulently acquired by hackers.

Several security researchers said the move by browser makers puts an end to DigiNotar's certificate business.

"Effectively a death sentence for DigiNotar," said Jeremiah Grossman, CTO of WhiteHat Security, in a Friday tweet .

Mozilla was scathing in its criticism of DigiNotar.

Nightingale ticked off the missteps that led Mozilla to permanently block all sites signed with the company's certificates, including DigiNotar's failure to notify browser vendors in July and its inability to tell how many certificates had been illegally obtained. "[And] the attack is not theoretical," Nightingale added. "We have received multiple reports of these certificates being used in the wild."

Markham went into greater detail on the hack and its ramifications. "It has now emerged that DigiNotar had not noticed the full extent of the compromise," said Markham in a Saturday post to his personal blog . "The attackers had managed to hide the traces of the misissuance -- perhaps by corrupting log files."

Because the Google certificate that prompted DigiNotar to acknowledge the intrusion was obtained before most of the others, Markham speculated that there had actually been two separate attacks, perhaps by different groups.

"It is at least possible (but entirely speculative) that an initial competent attacker has had access to [DigiNotar's] systems for an unknown amount of time, and a second attacker gained access more recently and their less-subtle, bull-in-a-china shop approach in issuing the [hundreds of] certificates triggered the alarms," he said.

Last week, Helsinki-based antivirus company F-Secure said it had found signs that DigiNotar's network had been compromised as early as May 2009 .

Mozilla will update Firefox 6 and Firefox 3.6 on Tuesday to permanently block all DigiNotar-issued certificates, including those used by the Dutch government.

On Saturday Google updated Chrome to do the same.

We took the opportunity to assess the Suunto Core All Black wristop mountaineering watch and enjoyed the accuracy and functionality of this multi-functional watch.

That said, most every backcountry trekker knows at least one old-timer that resists today’s latest technology and swears that digital technology will result in the downfall of outdoor survival skills. Digital technology can, however, push the boundaries of outdoor recreation when skill and experience are applied to the latest wristop instruments available. The Suunto Core watch is a testament to this marriage between experience and cutting edge technology.

There is a list of essential items that all mountaineers must carry such as a compass, warm clothing, and, of course, a wristwatch. Mountaineers must constantly have a solid sense of time as conditions change rapidly given the hour of day. The Suunto Core All Black uses state-of-the art technology to assist mountaineers in every data-gathering function they need in their journey. It is not your average timepiece as it not only provides the time, but also provides users with an altimeter/barometer, an accurate compass and more.

Designed in Finland, Suunto watches are often a choice piece of equipment for climbers ascending into the vertical, unforgiving world of mountaineering. We found the Suunto Core All Black to be a reliable piece of equipment suited for novice trekkers as well as experienced and serious mountaineers.

At first, it can be a bit overwhelming for those unfamiliar with mountaineering wristop computers. But setting up the Core All Black

is very doable. And becoming familiar with the functions will become second nature with a little practice. With the Core All Black, like any digital wristop computer, occasional calibration and set-up is advisable when your adventures take you to different regional or global locations. This Core watch is an instrument, and as such requires the user to take the time to know how it functions and how to use the output information to stay safe and informed throughout your journey.

The Core All Black watch has a large face (which comes in handy in extremely low visibility) and a strong back light. The watch band fits all sizes from lumberjacks to chicken wrists, and has a vice-like locking system. All digital features are controlled by five buttons on the side of the watch case (two buttons at the 9 O’ clock position of the watch face, and three buttons at the 3 O’ clock position). These buttons are used to alternate between the three primary information modes and make selections to program the various functions.

The Suunto Core is waterproof up to 30m (as it is also reads dive depths up to 30m) and is composed of mineral crystal glass face. Mineral crystal is highly scratch resistant and found on many high-end watches. The watch comes in various styles including our personal favorite solid black. This Suunto Core All Black wristop computer operates in the three respective modes, and each mode provides the user with a myriad of features. The watch is polyglot as the interface can be displayed in English, French, German or Spanish. The time setting can provide the hour in military time or the standard 12 hour increments. This setting also provides an alarm clock, stop watch, the date and the ability to set time zones.

The time zone feature is extremely cool because the Suunto Core provides a list of major cities in various time zones. The user simply selects the nearest major city to designate their time zone, and given the date, the Suunto Core provides the sunrise and sunset times for that particular day in that particular area.

The Suunto core is a world-class wristop computer for its ability to provide users with vital information like the altimeter/barometer feature that makes this a true mountaineering watch. All Black’s altimeter will take you just beyond the height of Mt. Everest and can be set to read in meters or feet-above sea level. This function takes measurements in absolute air pressure, meaning that its calibrated reference point is absolute zero pressure (such as a vacuum). This means that the reading not only depends on elevation, but also current weather conditions as well. This should not be mistaken as a mechanical flaw but rather a mechanical advantage as it provides users with information of both elevation and weather conditions.

Suunto urges users to calibrate the altimeter/barometer as often as possible to obtain more accurate readings. Users can travel to areas with known elevations such as summits, base camps, or sea level and register the elevation. The watch then compares the imputed elevation to the current air pressure readings (absolute air pressure) to find the difference. This variable difference is based on the current weather conditions.

temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius. The sensor used for temperature readings must be of the same ilk as so many other current mountaineering watches as the temperature reading you get while the watch is on your wrist will be about 10° warmer due to pickup of your body heat. It’s not a big deal to deduct 10° F from the reading, but it would be great when technology allows the manufacturer to isolate the body heat from the instrument. With the Core All Black of the wrist, the thermometer gives a very accurate reading that precisely matches analog thermometers and other wristop mountaineering computers. We don’t consider this a drawback, but a reality one would take into account when you are watching for temperature drops or increases along your trek.

In the compass mode, the Core All Black is an invaluable to any climber or outdoor enthusiast. This is an example of when you would want to calibrate your Core to the geographical region you intend to visit by adjusting the declination angle (declination angle is the difference between magnetic north and true-north). Compasses point to magnetic north. Most maps are set to true north. So you must account for the difference in order to end up where you intend to arrive safely at journey’s end. For us on the West Coast of Southern California, the declination angle is about 14° East. If we have a trip planned for the Canadian Rockies we would calibrate the Core All Black for the declination angle of that part of North America for greatest orienteering accuracy. The ability to calibrate your Core and adjust it to the environment is a discipline you readily take on as another task to allow you access to the best information wherever you find yourself in the global backcountry.

When you are orienteering using an orienteering map, you can set the Core watch declination angle to zero, because the map is aligned with magnetic north and the declination angle is not in play.

Wristband clasp is robust and very adjustable.

The Suunto Core allows users to set the value for Magnetic North by rotating a dial on the circumference of the watch face. You can also input your target destination compass point and the Core will keep you on track with simple “Turn Left/Turn Right” directions at the bottom of the watch face.

With practice and familiarity with your Core All Black will make recalibration just another mountaineering routine. Any misreading of the Suunto Core’s instruments is not due to mechanical flaws but rather human error. This is a rule that many experienced climbers understand as gear checks are practiced regularly.

Experienced mountaineers understand how important it is to predict weather patterns. The Suunto Core, designed to assist climbers on Himalayan expeditions, features a barometer and meteorological settings. The impressive storm alarm can be a life-saving tool to predict oncoming storms before they strike. The barometer detects rapid drops in air pressure over a three hour period, which signifies a higher likelihood for nasty weather. The storm alarm alerts users when the drop in air pressure is consistent with the pressures of previous storms.

There is no replacement for basic outdoor skills and experience, and modern technology must not deteriorate these foundations. Method 1 :

Windows operating systems contain a file called ‘hosts’ that will force resolution of your domain name.

Open the hosts file
1. Go to the Start menu and choose Run. Type the following in the Run dialog box:
  1. For Windows NT and Windows 2000
    1. C:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc
  2. Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7
    1. C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
2. Click the OK button (This should open a window with several files in it.)
3. Find the file called ‘hosts’ and double–click it. If prompted, specify that you would like to choose a program to open the file withfrom a list of programs.
  1. Choose ‘Notepad’ from the list of available programs.
Edit and save the hosts file
1. The contents of your hosts file should look something like this

บริการนี้นอกจากจะช่วยให้เราสามารถหาว่าเครื่องเราอยู่ที่ไหนในตอนนี้ แล้ว ยังสามารถสั่งให้ส่งข้อความให้ขึ้นที่หน้าจอของอุปกรณ์ที่เราตามหา, สั่งให้เครื่องส่งเสียงดังขึ้น แม้จะอยู่ใน Silent Mode ก็ตาม, สั่งให้เครื่อง Lock และตั้ง Password ไว้ หรือกรณีที่เราคิดว่าคงไม่ได้อุปกรณ์นั้นๆคืนแล้ว ก็ป้องกันข้อมูลสำคัญรั่วไหลด้วยการสั่งลบข้อมูลทั้งหมดไปเลยก็ได้

เพียงเท่านี้ เมื่อ iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4th Gen หรือ iPad ที่เปิดใช้บริการ Find My iPhone ได้หายไป ก็สามรถตามหาได้ด้วยวิธีง่ายดังนี้ (แต่ถ้าหากอุปกรณ์ที่เราตามหา ไม่ได้สั่งให้ “Find My iPhone” เป็น “on” เอาไว้ก็ไม่สามารถที่จะระบุตำแหน่งของอุปกรณ์นั้นๆได้เมื่อหายไป หรือถ้าหากสั่งปิดการ push หรือปิดเครื่องไปแล้ว ก็ตามหาไม่ได้เช่นกัน)

1) ใช้คอมพิวเตอร์เข้าเวป me.com แล้ว login ด้วย Apple ID ของเรา จากนั้นระบบก็จะระบุตำแหน่งของ iPhone, iPod Touch หรือ iPad ของเราที่ตามหาอยู่เป็นพิกัดอย่างแม่นยำบนแผนที่ Google map (แต่หากอุปกรณ์ที่ตามหาอยู่ในอาคาร จะแม่นน้อยกว่าอยู่ในที่โล่งหรือที่เปิด เพราะอาจเป็นการระบุตำแหน่งผ่านเครือข่ายโทรศํพท์มือถือ หรือ wifi แทน GPS เนื่องจากรับสัญญาณดาวเทียมไม่ได้ในที่ปิด)

2) หรือใช้อุปกรณ์ iPad, iPhone4 เครื่องอื่นที่ติดตั้งโปรแกรม Find My iPhone เอาไว้แล้ว (ไปโหลด Find My iPhone ได้ที่ Appstore ) เปิดโปรแกรมขึ้นมาแล้ว login ด้วย Apple ID ของเรา จากนั้นเลือกชื่ออุปกรณ์ที่เราต้องการตามหา ระบบก็จะระบุพิกัดของอุปกรณ์นั้นๆบนแผนที่เช่นเดียวกัน

เมื่อระบุพิกัดเครื่องของเราได้แล้ว ก็สามารถสั่งให้ส่งข้อความไปยังเครื่องที่ตามหา หรือสั่งให้ส่งเสียง (play sound) , สั่งให้ Lock เครื่อง โดยตั้ง Password เป็นตัวเลข 4 หลักก่อน เมื่อกดส่ง เครื่องของเราจะถูก Lock ทันที, หรือสั่งให้ลบข้อมูลทั้งหมดบนเครื่องก็ได้

ซึ่งจะมีผลทำให้เครื่องมีประสิทธิภาพในการทำงานลดลง เป็นแหล่งแพร่กระจาย

รูปแบบและลักษณะของไวรัส

หลักการทำงาน

เมื่อ เสียบแฮนดี้ไดร์ฟที่มีไวรัสตัวนี้ ในแฮนดี้ไดร์ฟจะมีไฟล์ไวรัสซึ่งจะแฝงตัวอยู่และมีลักษณะเป็นโฟลเดอร์แบบช็อต คัต ตามรูปที่1 ซึ่งในช็อตคัตก็จะแฝงชุดคำสั่ง เพื่อเรียกการทำงานของไวรัส
เมื่อดับเบิลคลิกที่โฟลเดอร์ต่างๆ ที่มีลักษณะเป็นช็อตคัตภายในแฮนดี้ไดร์ฟ ไวรัสตัวนี้ก็จะทำงานโดยการก๊อปปี้ตัวเองลงไปในเครื่อง
ไวรัสจะทำการแพร่กระจายตัวเองไปในระบบเครือข่ายและดาวน์โหลดไวรัสมาเพิ่ม
เมื่อ มีการเสียบแฮนดี้ไดร์ฟที่เครื่องที่ติดไวรัส ไวรัสจะทำการแอบซ่อนโฟล์เดอร์ที่มีอยู่ในแฮนดีไดร์ฟและคัดลอกตัวเองลงในแฮ นดี้ไดร์ฟพร้อมกับเปลี่ยนชื่อให้เหมือนกับโฟลเดอร์ที่เคยมีอยู่ เพื่อหลอกให้ผู้ใช้ดับเบิลคลิกและแพร่กระจายไวรัสต่อไปเรื่อยๆ

วิธีการป้องกันและกำจัดไวรัสช็อตคัต

อุปกรณ์แฮนดี้ไดร์ฟ หรือสื่อบันทึกข้อมูลแบบพกพา จะมีโฟลเดอร์ที่เป็นช็อตคัตและโฟลเดอร์แบบปกติจะถูกแอบซ่อน หรือทำให้มองไม่เห็น
หน้า แรก(Homepage) ของเว็บบราวเซอร์ จะถูกเปลี่ยนเป็นเว็บไซต์ที่มีตัวอักษรแปลกๆ ซึ่งตรวจสอบพบว่าจะมีการไปโหลดไวรัสมาเพิ่มเมื่อเข้าเว็บไซต์
เครื่องมีอาการผิดปกติ เช่น เครื่องจะทำงานช้า เข้าเว็บไซต์ไม่ได้ มีเสียง “ติ๊ดๆ” ดังเป็นระยะ
เข้าใช้งานวินโดวส์ไม่ได้ โดยมีลักษณะโหลดหน้าต่างก่อนเข้าวินโดวส์ซ้ำๆ

***หมายเหตุ*** เมื่อแฮนดี้ไดร์ฟ ติดไวรัสนี้แล้ว อย่า!!!!! คลิ กเพื่อเปิดไฟล์หรือดับเบิ้ลคลิกไฟล์ที่กลายเป็น shortcut เด็ดขาด ไม่เช่นนั้น เครื่อง คอมพิวเตอร์เครื่องนั้นจะกลายเป็นแหล่งแพร่ไวรัสทันที

วิธีการใช้งานโปรแกรม SPKAutorunKiller (จัดการไวรัสในแฮนดี้ไดร์ฟเท่านั้น)

ดาวน์โหลดโปรแกรมได้จาก SPK Autokiller V2.4

เมื่อดาวน์โหลดเสร็จสิ้น สามารถติดตั้งโปรแกรมได้ 2 วิธี
1. คลิกเลือกที่ปุ่ม Run ----> Install เพื่อติดตั้งโปรแกรม
2. ดับเบิลคลิกที่ไฟล์ SPKAutokillerV2.4.exe -----> Run -----> Install เพื่อติดตั้งโปรแกรม
3. หากติดตั้งโปรแกรมแล้วเครื่องเตือนว่ามีerror บางอย่างและไม่มีสัญลักษณ์ SPK ขึ้นที่มุมล่างขวา
  ให้ดาวน์โหลด โปรแกรม DOTNET ซึ่งเป็นตัวเสริมมาติดตั้งเพิ่มและดิบเบิลคลิกที่ไอค่อน Spk ที่หน้าจออีกครั้ง
โปรแกรมจะถูกติดตั้งไว้ในเครื่อง และทำการลบไวรัสโดยอัตโนมัติเมื่อมีการเสียบแฮนดี้ไดร์ฟ หรือสื่อบันทึกข้อมูลแบบพกพา

การแก้ไขกรณี แฮนดี้ไดร์ฟ โดนไวรัสแล้ว ต้องการให้แสดงไฟล์ข้อมูลที่โดนซ่อนออกมาโหลดโปรแกรม Unhidden.rar และ Unhidden2.rar

วิธีใช้งานเบื้องต้น
1. แตกไฟล์ทั้ง 2 อัน
2.นำไฟล์ Unhidden v2.exe และ Unhidden.exe ใส่ไปที่ FlashDrive ที่ติด ไวรัส
****วิธีนำไฟล์ลง Flashdirve ให้ คลิกขวาเลือก Send To น่ะครับ
3.ดับเบิ้ลคลิกที่ไฟล์ในข้อ 2 ที่ละไฟล์

ไฟล์แรก Unhidden.exe

ไฟล์ที่ 2 Unhidden2.exe

4.ลบไฟล์ที่เป็น ShortCut ออกให้หมด

กรณีคิดว่าเครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์เครื่องนั้นเป็นตัวแพร่เชื้อ

1.ให้ติดตั้งโปรแกรม SPK Autokiller
2.ให้ใช้โปรแกรม ComboFix จัดการไวรัสในเครื่อง

****การ ใช้งาน ComboFix แนะนำให้ใช้งานบน SeftMode นะครับ เพื่อให้ได้ผลที่แน่นอนกว่า แต่ตัว ComboFix อาจจะมีปัญหากับการจัดการไวรัสที่แผงตัวเข้าสู่ระบบ Windows หรือไฟล์ System ดังนั้นก่อนการใช้งาน ComboFix แนะนำให้ Backup ข้อมูลที่สำคัญก่อนนะครับ เพราะถ้าไวรัสติดไฟล์ระบบแล้ว หากComboFIx ทำงาน ก็อาจจะลบไฟล์ระบบนั้นทิ้งทันที จึงทำให้ WIndows อาจจะล่มได้นะครับ (เตือนแล้วนะ) ดังนั้น ComboFix ขอให้เป็นทางเลือกสุดท้ายนะครับ แต่ครูลองดูแล้ว เครื่องก้ไม่มีปัญหา แต่กับเครื่องอื่นไม่รับประกันครับ

UFW is a command line program that helps manage the netfilter iptables firewall. This provides few simple commands to manage iptables. Gufw is a graphical interface for the UFW that is used on Ubuntu distribution. It is very intuitive and easy to manage your iptables firewall using Gufw. You can run Gufw on any Linux distribution that has Python, GTK and ufw.
