How the Blame for October 7th Got Inverted - Even Before Israel Entered Gaza

Within hours of the Hamas massacre, an information war was already underway. Within days, organized demonstrations across America were describing the attack as “resistance.” And before Israeli ground forces entered Gaza, Israel was already being accused of genocide.

On the morning of October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists crossed into southern Israel, murdering about 1,200 people and taking more than 240 hostages.

But another operation began almost simultaneously: the battle over what the world would believe had happened and who would ultimately be seen as the aggressor.

Three years later, the speed with which that narrative changed deserves another look.

There is considerable evidence of a well-developed international communications and activist infrastructure capable of moving almost immediately.

Within hours, Hamas was distributing carefully prepared messages and videos. Within a day, established American activist organizations were staging demonstrations across the country. Within a week, the attack was being widely reframed as Palestinian “resistance.” Within eleven days, lawyers were publicly accusing Israel of genocide — before Israel had begun its major ground invasion of Gaza.

And television cameras were there to broadcast the resulting protests.

The information campaign began with the attack

Researchers at the Atlantic Council reconstructed the first hours of Hamas's communications operation.

At 7:14 a.m. Israeli time on October 7, Hamas's al-Qassam Brigades announced the attack on Telegram. At 7:30, Hamas media posted video. At 8:47, al-Qassam released a roughly ten-minute propaganda video seeking to justify the attack.

During the first 72 hours, Hamas and Hamas-adjacent organizations produced nearly 6,000 Telegram posts, according to the Atlantic Council. The al-Qassam Telegram channel's audience grew rapidly from hundreds of thousands of subscribers to more than 600,000.

In other words, Hamas did not first attack Israel and later discover public relations.

The information war was underway while Israelis were still being killed, kidnapped and hunted.

By the next day, demonstrations were nationwide

The speed of the American street response was striking.

The Times Square demonstration was sponsored by an existing coalition that included the Palestinian Youth Movement, Party for Socialism and Liberation, The People's Forum, American Muslims for Palestine, ANSWER Coalition and Al-Awda, among others.

In Anaheim, sponsors included ANSWER, PSL, the Palestinian Youth Movement and Al-Awda.

Chicago's demonstration included Students for Justice in Palestine and American Muslims for Palestine.

This was not a movement that had to be invented on October 8.

The organizations, mailing lists, organizers, campus chapters, social-media accounts and protest experience already existed. October 7 activated them.

That demonstrates how quickly an established political infrastructure could turn a terrorist attack thousands of miles away into coordinated American street action.

A common message reached the campuses

On October 8, National Students for Justice in Palestine distributed what it called a “Day of Resistance Toolkit.”

The purpose was not simply to organize vigils for Palestinian civilians. It supplied campus activists with a common political interpretation of the unfolding events and called for nationwide actions.

That distinction matters.

Israel had barely begun responding militarily, yet the argument over October 7 was already shifting from what Hamas had done toward why Palestinians were justified in resisting Israel.

Videos of the October 8 demonstrations are especially revealing because they preserve the messaging in real time. Protesters could already be seen carrying signs and using language that portrayed the events through the framework of “resistance” and occupation.

The major Israeli ground operation was still almost three weeks away.

“Genocide” came before the ground invasion

The chronology becomes still more important when examining the charge that would eventually dominate much of the international debate: genocide.

Israel certainly was already bombing Gaza heavily following October 7. Gaza civilians were being killed, buildings destroyed, and Israel had announced a siege and ordered civilians in northern Gaza to evacuate.

But Israel's large-scale ground operation did not begin until October 27.

By then, however, the genocide allegation was already firmly in circulation.

On October 18, the U.S.-based Center for Constitutional Rights released an “Emergency Legal Briefing Paper” asserting that there was a credible case that Israel was attempting or committing genocide.

The paper itself referred to the “upcoming Israeli ground invasion.”

Thus, whatever one believes about whether Israel's subsequent conduct ultimately met the legal definition of genocide, the accusation was not a conclusion reached after observing months or years of the Gaza war.

It became part of the international argument within eleven days of the Hamas attack, and before the principal ground invasion had even started.

Then came the amplification

The movement cannot accurately be reduced to a single foreign command center.

Some protesters were acting from sincerely held beliefs about Palestinian rights and civilian suffering.

But foreign involvement was not imaginary.

In July 2024, U.S. Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines publicly disclosed that actors connected to the Iranian government were posing online as activists, encouraging demonstrations and even providing financial support to some protesters.

Haines cautioned that Americans receiving such encouragement or assistance might not even know they were interacting with representatives of a foreign government.

An influence campaign does not require thousands of protesters to knowingly take orders from abroad.

It requires money, organizers, communications networks, media production and people capable of transmitting a message.

Who paid for the infrastructure?

Iran provides the clearest example because the confirmation came directly from U.S. intelligence.

But another trail leads to Neville Roy Singham, an American technology millionaire who moved to Shanghai and has poured millions of dollars into organizations active in American protest politics.

A George Washington University Program on Extremism study examined what it described as Chinese Communist Party influence in U.S. pro-Palestinian activism. Researchers traced a network associated with Singham that financially supported organizations including The People's Forum, while identifying organizational relationships involving the ANSWER Coalition, International People's Assembly and other activist groups.

The People's Forum has acknowledged Singham as a major benefactor. Congressional investigators have also examined the network and its role in protest activity.

The significance is not that Beijing has been shown to have written checks directly to individual campus protesters. That has not been established.

Rather, Singham has been documented participating in Chinese Communist Party-related events and financing organizations and media operations that researchers say frequently promote positions aligned with Beijing.

That network was not limited to demonstrations.

It included media.

BreakThrough News, which has personnel and organizational relationships within the Singham network, has produced online programming promoting both pro-China and anti-Israel narratives.

Signs cost money. Staff cost money. Offices cost money. Websites, video production, livestreams, transportation and full-time organizers cost money.

A protest movement can contain thousands of sincere volunteers while still depending upon a professionally financed organizational structure.

Qatar's influence followed a different route

Qatar presents a different and more complicated case.

There is no comparable public evidence showing that the Qatari government directly financed particular American demonstrators.

But Qatar has supplied enormous amounts of money to American institutions.

Federal disclosure records maintained by the U.S. Department of Education have repeatedly placed Qatar among the largest foreign sources of gifts and contracts reported by American universities. In 2025 alone, institutions reported more than $1.1 billion in Qatari-origin gifts and contracts.

Those payments cannot simply be equated with financing anti-Israel demonstrations. Much of the money involves university programs, contracts and overseas campuses.

But the scale matters when examining the wider environment in which Middle East policy is taught, researched and debated.

Qatar also possesses something more directly relevant to the information war: a global television and digital network.

Al Jazeera acknowledges that it is funded in part by the Qatari government.

Its programming reaches a global audience, with a substantial parallel presence on YouTube and social media.

Whatever judgment one reaches about Al Jazeera's editorial independence, Qatar possesses something Iran and Hamas could never build on a comparable scale by themselves: a Qatari-funded international media platform capable of placing Gaza before a worldwide audience continuously.

The result was not one money trail, but several

The evidence therefore does not point neatly to a single financier controlling an international movement.

It points to overlapping channels.

Iran: U.S. intelligence confirmed that Iranian government actors encouraged protests, impersonated activists online and provided financial support to some demonstrators.

China-linked networks: Singham-funded organizations supplied money and infrastructure to groups involved in major post-October 7 demonstrations and related alternative media. Researchers have documented Singham's relationships within the Chinese Communist Party's political and communications environment, although that is not the same as proof that the CCP directly financed individual demonstrations.

Qatar: billions of dollars flowed into American higher education while Qatari government funding supported one of the world's largest international news networks. A direct Qatar-to-campus-protester payment trail has not been established.

American nonprofit and activist networks: organizations already possessed staff, donors, fiscal sponsors, mailing lists, campus chapters and experienced protest organizers long before October 7.

Taken together, they help explain how large demonstrations, coordinated slogans, sophisticated graphics, media content and organized campus actions could appear rapidly and continue for years.

And television provided the amplifier

How did activists carrying signs and megaphones become such an important part of the news itself?

Part of the answer may be much less conspiratorial — and more troubling — than a secret agreement between activists and journalists.

Television needs pictures.

A demonstration provides them instantly: crowds, signs, chanting, confrontation, emotional witnesses and spokespeople eager to talk.

A television reporter sent to a campus protest can put a microphone in front of an organizer within minutes. Investigating where the organizer's claims originated, tracing financial relationships, locating Arabic-language propaganda or finding specialists capable of evaluating those claims takes considerably longer.

Social media made the imbalance worse.

The Atlantic Council found that Hamas and associated groups were pumping thousands of messages into an online ecosystem in which unverified video, emotionally powerful images and claims could reach enormous audiences before professional journalists had determined what actually happened.

Israel made the verification problem harder in another way.

Foreign journalists have generally not been allowed independent access to Gaza since October 7. The Committee to Protect Journalists says international reporters instead have largely been limited to occasional, tightly controlled military escorts.

That left major international news organizations unusually dependent on Palestinian reporters, local sources, social-media video, aid organizations, satellite imagery and statements from the combatants themselves.

The hospital explosion showed what could go wrong

Perhaps no incident demonstrated the danger better than the October 17 explosion at al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza.

Initial reports attributed the explosion to an Israeli strike and cited a Palestinian claim that approximately 500 people had died.

The New York Times prominently reported:

“Israeli Airstrike Hits Gaza Hospital, Killing 500, Palestinian Health Ministry Says.”

The evidence was not yet established.

As competing evidence emerged, the headline changed. The Times later published an editor's note acknowledging that its early coverage had relied too heavily on Hamas's claims and had failed to make sufficiently clear that they could not immediately be verified.

That correction came later.

The original accusation had already traveled around the world.

And that is the central problem of an information war.

The first version reaches millions. The correction reaches some fraction of them.

Three years later, the speed still matters

None of this proves that every criticism of Israel was manufactured.

It does not prove that Palestinian civilian suffering was invented. It does not settle the legal arguments over Israel's conduct in Gaza.

Those are separate questions.

What the record does show is remarkable enough.

Hamas launched a sophisticated communications campaign virtually alongside its physical attack.

Established activist organizations in the United States were able to coordinate demonstrations across the country within approximately one day.

A national campus network circulated a common mobilization package within that same period.

The language of “resistance” appeared before Israel's ground invasion.

The accusation of genocide followed before that invasion began.

Then came money, infrastructure and amplification from several directions: documented Iranian influence operations, China-linked financing of major activist organizations, established American nonprofit networks, and a much broader foreign-funded information environment that included Qatar's enormous investments in universities and global media.

And a modern news system driven by immediacy, dramatic pictures and social-media velocity sometimes repeated claims before reporters could verify them.

The more useful question is how an existing network of organizations, money, activists, foreign influence operations, media platforms and social-media channels became capable of changing the subject so rapidly — and then keeping that changed narrative alive.

On October 7, the unmistakable news story was a Hamas assault in which civilians were massacred and abducted.

Within days, much of the argument in streets and on campuses had become an indictment of Israel.

The story did not reverse itself.

There was an infrastructure capable of reversing it.

Mamdani Pledges to Fight Antisemitism — But What About People and Organizations Who Support Israel?

One Israel Fund executive, Scott Feltman describes being singled out by New York's mayor, security fears affecting his organization, and the controversy over charitable support for Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria. Meanwhile, similar questions about Israel and antisemitism surfaced at a Los Angeles mayoral forum.

NEW YORK / LOS ANGELES — New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani unveiled a new strategy Tuesday, September 29, to combat antisemitism, pledging additional funding for security at synagogues and other houses of worship, expanded Holocaust education, and greater support for victims of hate crimes.

Yet his announcement arrives against the backdrop of a longstanding dispute over political opposition to Israel and the treatment of Jewish individuals and organizations whose charitable activities support Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria.

The issue is particularly relevant to One Israel Fund, a U.S.-based nonprofit that supports civilian security, emergency medical services, educational programs, and community development in those Israeli communities, located in territory widely known as the West Bank.

In an exclusive video interview with DemoCast, Scott Feltman, executive vice president of One Israel Fund, described his organization's work and accused Mamdani of repeatedly singling it out.

The interview was recorded before Mamdani's September 29 announcement, making Feltman's earlier account relevant to the questions now surrounding the mayor's policy.

Mamdani's Antisemitism Initiative: Protections and Unanswered Questions

According to the Mayor's Office announcement, the new initiative provides $6.4 million in community grants for hate-crime prevention and survivor support, along with $1 million for physical security at synagogues and other houses of worship.

It also supports increased Holocaust education, Jewish cultural programs, and expanded awareness of civil rights protections.

However, the strategy does not adopt a single definition of antisemitism, and critics have questioned its failure to specifically address how hostility toward Zionism or Israel can, in certain circumstances, become discrimination against Jewish people.

Supporters of the strategy argue that it addresses threats facing Jewish New Yorkers without treating criticism of Israeli government policies as inherently antisemitic. Critics maintain that the distinction remains insufficiently defined when Jewish institutions or individuals are targeted because of their associations with Israel.

The unresolved question is how city policy will protect individuals and organizations whose support for Israel becomes the object of intimidation, threats, or discriminatory treatment.

One Israel Fund: A Charity in Mamdani's Political Crosshairs

Before his election as mayor, Mamdani sponsored legislation in the New York State Assembly known as the "Not On Our Dime" bill, intended to restrict certain activities by tax-exempt organizations supporting Israeli settlements.

The 2023 legislation, Assembly Bill A6943, proposed civil penalties and a private right of action involving prohibited settlement-related activities. It did not become law.

Supporters portrayed the measure as a means of preventing nonprofit funds from facilitating violations of Palestinian rights. Opponents questioned its implications for charities supporting Israeli communities, including organizations that provide medical assistance and civilian security equipment.

One Israel Fund was specifically named in advocacy surrounding the proposed legislation.

Feltman says his organization provides assistance ranging from ambulances and medical facilities to surveillance cameras, thermal drones, defensive equipment for civilian first responders, and community projects.

He emphasizes that One Israel Fund does not provide weapons and characterizes its security assistance as defensive and humanitarian in purpose.

Asked about opposition to the organization, Feltman turned directly to Mamdani:

"He has attacked us by name numerous times."

Feltman described Mamdani's earlier legislative effort as an attempt to interfere with charitable support for the Israeli communities his organization serves.

His remarks raise a broader question: under what circumstances can restrictions directed at settlement-related activity also affect organizations whose work includes humanitarian and medical assistance?

From Political Controversy to Personal Security Fears

Feltman also described growing concerns about the safety of his employees.

In the interview, he recalled how staff members became visibly shaken following the May 2025 murders of two Israeli Embassy employees outside an event at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C.

He said employees feared that a similarly motivated attacker might target One Israel Fund.

His explanation of the organization's resulting move was interrupted by a camera recording break, but continued immediately in the next video.

"Now I have to literally have my organization, a prominent organization for 32 years, hiding behind a PO box."

Feltman told this reporter off camera that One Israel Fund had also experienced harassment by telephone and at its physical offices. He further referred to criticism from an advocacy organization that he said had portrayed OIF in hostile terms.

The identity of that organization, the exact nature of any designation, and the particular harassment incidents have not yet been independently verified for this report.

Feltman had already expressed fears for employee safety in a July 23, 2025 Fox News Digital interview.

He also publicly criticized Mamdani in a July 8, 2025 article in American Thinker, objecting to the politician's remarks about OIF and defending the organization's civilian security projects.

The documented statements show that Feltman's concerns preceded his DemoCast interview. They do not establish that Mamdani personally caused threats or harassment directed at the organization.

Is It Opposition to Israel, or Antisemitism?

During the interview, Feltman explained why he had previously avoided giving extensive public attention to the organization's political controversies.

He cited One Israel Fund's nonprofit status and its desire to keep attention focused on its humanitarian work.

But he said the broader political climate made continued silence increasingly difficult.

"It's Jew hatred. It's classic anti-semitism. And it has to stop."

This reporter then asked Feltman to explain why he believed Mamdani's conduct demonstrated hostility toward Jews, rather than opposition to Israel alone.

Feltman pointed to what he regarded as a wider pattern of rhetoric and actions, including Mamdani's approach to Israeli institutions and his relations with ethnic communities in New York.

His allegations concern the motives and implications of the mayor's political conduct. Mamdani, for his part, maintains that opposition to Israeli government policy and settlement-related activities should not be equated with antisemitism.

The distinction matters. Criticism of Israel is protected political expression and does not automatically constitute anti-Jewish prejudice. Conversely, targeting Jewish individuals or institutions through threats, exclusion, or discriminatory conduct because of their Jewish identity or perceived associations with Israel can raise serious antisemitism and civil rights concerns.

From New York to Los Angeles: Nithya Raman Faces Questions About Israel and Jewish Security

The debate is not confined to New York.

On the same day Mamdani unveiled his antisemitism initiative, questions surrounding Israel, political activism, and Jewish communal security emerged at a Los Angeles mayoral candidate forum at the Skirball Cultural Center.

On Tuesday evening, September 29, Los Angeles City Councilwoman Nithya Raman, a Democratic Socialist challenging incumbent Mayor Karen Bass, faced pointed questions about her views on Israel, the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, and her appearance on the livestream of political commentator Hasan Piker.

As reported by The Forward, Raman reiterated her characterization of Israel's military campaign in Gaza as genocide, drawing audible disapproval from members of the audience.

Bass, appearing separately at the forum, rejected that characterization.

Raman also defended BDS as a legitimate form of peaceful protest, while stating that it was not part of her mayoral campaign platform. That response drew another strong negative reaction from the audience.

Bass said she did not support BDS.

Democratic Socialists, BDS and Disagreements Within the Left

The Democratic Socialists of America supports BDS and has generally taken strongly critical positions concerning Israeli policies toward Palestinians.

Yet Raman's relationship with DSA demonstrates that the organization's members and affiliated elected officials do not necessarily agree on every issue.

After Hamas's October 7, 2023 attacks on Israel, Raman criticized the DSA response. She was subsequently censured by DSA's Los Angeles chapter following disagreements that included her pursuit of an endorsement from Democrats for Israel–Los Angeles.

At the Skirball forum, Raman defended her appearance on Hasan Piker's livestream, explaining that candidates should be willing to engage audiences with differing political views.

Piker has faced allegations of antisemitism concerning his public commentary, allegations he has rejected.

Raman also acknowledged that antisemitism can originate on the political left. She promised to protect Jewish Angelenos regardless of their political positions or views on foreign affairs.

Her statements create an important distinction between the New York and Los Angeles situations: Raman has not proposed legislation equivalent to Mamdani's restrictions on settlement-related charitable activities.

Nevertheless, the two controversies raise related questions about the treatment of Jewish institutions and supporters of Israel in cities where progressive political movements have substantial influence.

What Would Similar Policies Mean for California?

Feltman's account provides an example of the concerns that can arise when charitable support for Israeli communities becomes the subject of political and legislative campaigns.

The New York bill specifically targeted certain nonprofit activities associated with Israeli settlements. Whether comparable restrictions could be proposed in California would depend upon the policies adopted by lawmakers, the authority of state or municipal government, and applicable constitutional protections.

No equivalent proposal by Raman against One Israel Fund has been established.

Still, the Los Angeles forum exposed significant disagreements about Israel, BDS, and the extent to which municipal leaders should address hostility toward Jewish residents whose support for Israel is publicly known.

Rabbi Noah Farkas, chief executive of Jewish Federation Los Angeles, observed during the forum that Jewish Angelenos may be held personally responsible for actions of the Israeli government regardless of their individual beliefs.

That concern provides a point of comparison with Feltman's account of the political controversy surrounding his organization.

For Jewish and non-Jewish supporters of Israel alike, the relevant questions concern whether lawful charitable donations, religious activities, political associations, and public advocacy can proceed without threats or unlawful discrimination.

Promises, Policies and Protections

Mamdani's new antisemitism strategy includes concrete commitments to Jewish institutional security, community support, education, and hate-crime prevention.

At the same time, his earlier sponsorship of the Not On Our Dime legislation demonstrates his willingness to pursue restrictions concerning certain charitable activities linked to Israeli settlements.

Those positions raise questions about how the administration will distinguish between legitimate policy disagreement, protected political protest, and harassment or discrimination directed at people or institutions because of their support for Israel.

In Los Angeles, Raman's positions on Gaza, BDS, and political engagement with controversial commentators have generated disagreement within the Jewish community, while she has also pledged to protect Jewish residents and opposed some positions taken by DSA.

The two political records are not identical, and the positions of individual candidates cannot automatically be attributed to every member of their party or political movement.

For One Israel Fund's Scott Feltman, however, the debate has already taken a personal dimension. He describes employees worried about their safety, an organization that relocated its offices, and a charitable mission he believes has been unfairly portrayed by political critics.

Whether government protections against antisemitism will apply consistently to Jewish individuals and institutions regardless of their positions on Israel remains an important question for both New York and Los Angeles.

Father of jihadist-slain Wall St. Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, Prof. Judea Pearl a globally renowned pioneer in artificial-intelligence, has invested 56-years on the U.C.L.A. campus

UCLA School of Law marked the 25th anniversary of September 11 with a two-day symposium, “25 Years After 9/11: Reimagining Freedom, Justice, and Security,” on September 10–11. The sponsors were five law-school centers: Critical Race Studies, International & Comparative Law, the Institute for Technology, Law & Policy, the Promise Institute for Human Rights, and the Miñana Family Center for Immigration Law & Policy.

Melanie T. Partow, a defense attorney for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, spoke Friday morning on the panel “Torture, Rendition, and Detention: The Erosion of the Rights Regime post 9/11.” She did not respond to the Los Angeles Times.¹

Partow is one of the defense lawyers for Mohammed, a terrorist who boasted about beheading Daniel Pearl.

Mohammed is the accused architect of the September 11 attacks. In a 2007 Pentagon transcript he said he beheaded Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl in Pakistan in 2002.² Daniel Pearl’s father, Professor Judea Pearl, has been at UCLA for 56 years.³ He founded and hosts the Daniel Pearl Memorial Lecture on that campus. Next month that lecture is scheduled to feature Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich.¹

Pearl told the New York Post he was ashamed of his university. He accused the law school of “weaponizing the painful days of 9/11 and 10/7 to promote hateful ideologies.”⁴ He later told the Los Angeles Times: “To my esteemed colleagues at these five centers: Please find different dates to engage us with your political sophistry.”¹ He also said a September 11 event “should be used to commemorate the victims of that attack: Innocent Americans.”⁵

The program gave the dead fifteen minutes on Friday morning. Lunch got an hour.⁶ The panels addressed torture, detention, surveillance, immigration enforcement, “White Christian nationalism,” and “the ongoing genocide in Gaza.” Other speakers included Hussam Ayloush of CAIR-California, who after October 7 said “Israel should be attacked”; Yale’s Aslı Ü. Bâli, who called counterterrorism a “racist gravy train”; and Amna Akbar, who called the alleged murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson a “spectacular act of protest.”⁷ No panel listed 9/11 families, first responders, or prosecutors.

A UCLA Law spokesman had said the school has a “longstanding commitment to academic freedom,” that program events do not speak for the school, and that it “does not withdraw invitations because a speaker or viewpoint is sensitive or controversial.”⁸

On Friday, September 11, Chancellor Julio Frenk issued a campus statement. He said Judea Pearl is “a deeply valued member of the UCLA community,” called Daniel Pearl’s murder “an act of unspeakable evil,” and said: “Nothing about this event at the UCLA School of Law, which we do not endorse, changes or qualifies those commitments.” He added: “Academic freedom does not require us to be neutral about antisemitism or terrorism.” He said he understood why Pearl and others were “deeply hurt.”⁹ He did not cancel the symposium. He did not remove Partow. She spoke that morning.¹

Organizers answered Frenk. Law professors Ahilan Arulanantham and LaToya Baldwin Clark said they were “enormously proud of the symposium we organized, and UCLA should be too.” They said critics who did not attend missed memorials, including Arulanantham’s account of being in Manhattan on September 11 and Jasleen Kohli’s account that her mother nearly boarded a hijacked flight.

Law professor Aaron Littman said he was “profoundly disappointed in our chancellor, as a member of the UCLA law faculty and a Jew,” and that treating the invitation of a defense lawyer as an endorsement of the client’s deeds “is a threat to democracy.”

Law professor Seana Shiffrin called the program “academically serious” and said a torture-and-rendition panel is stronger with counsel who has handled those cases. She did not attend Partow’s panel.¹

A defense lawyer may speak on campus any week of the year. Guantánamo counsel is a lawful job. September 11 is not an ordinary programming date. UCLA put Mohammed’s lawyer on that date, at Pearl’s university, while Pearl’s own lecture in his son’s name remains on the calendar. Frenk said the university does not endorse the event. The five centers held it anyway. Pearl asked them to pick different dates. They did not.

Maria Ressa received the Daniel Pearl Award for Courage and Integrity in Journalism at the 68th Southern California Journalism Awards (late June 2026), presented by the Los Angeles Press Club and Judea Pearl (Daniel Pearl’s father). It recognizes journalists showing exceptional courage and commitment to truth, and Ressa is the first Filipino recipient.

He opened by expressing profound honor in presenting the 24th LA Press Club Daniel Pearl Award to Maria Ressa, describing her as synonymous with courage and the aspiration to protect press freedom.

He quoted her Nobel Prize lecture warning that “Data is no longer just information… it has been weaponized like plutonium. By allowing algorithms to structurally alter human behavior for profit, society has granted geopolitical powers and authoritarian leaders an open window to destroy democratic institutions from the inside out.” As a computer scientist specializing in AI and machine learning, Pearl said he felt partly responsible for creating this “digital plutonium,” but as a philosopher of science he believes AI tools can also help people understand and resist becoming complicit in its spread.

On a personal note, Dr. Pearl stated that over the past three years his heart and mind had been deeply occupied with Israel, “a nation clinging to life as she struggles to withstand not only physical threats, but a sustained, libelous assault on her moral standing, led by outlets like Al Jazeera and echoed even by our reputable Reuters and the Associated Press.” He then extended Ressa’s warning: “This dangerous plutonium is now used not just by authoritarian leaders, like Duterte and Putin, but by ideological forces like Iran, Qatar, and China who aim to re-engineer our perception of reality. They manipulate journalists to erode public trust in journalism, ultimately undermining both our democratic institutions and our shared humanistic values. Therefore, and urgently, we must seriously heed Maria’s warning and watch our steps carefully whenever we feel the temptation to echo this plutonium of disinformation, especially when it lures us to dehumanize my brothers and sisters in Israel.” He closed by thanking Ressa for honoring his son Daniel by accepting the award and for continuing to inspire with her courage, wisdom, and character. Maria Ressa’s acceptance speech focused on her personal connection to Daniel Pearl’s story, the evolving threats to journalism, and a call to action: Ms. Ressa explained why the award mattered: as CNN’s lead investigative reporter before Rappler and the Nobel, she “chased terrorists for a living.” Her first book, *Seeds of Terror*, tracked al-Qaeda networks linking Southeast Asia (including planning in Manila in 1994) to what became the 9/11 attacks. In November 2001 she was in New Delhi tracking Omar Sheikh; he offered her an interview in Karachi. Her CNN features editor deemed it too dangerous and denied the budget, so she did not go. Weeks later, Omar Sheikh lured Daniel Pearl to a meeting in Karachi, handed him to Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (whom Ressa had been chasing and who later confessed to masterminding 9/11), and Pearl was murdered. She said she has lived with that proximity every day since: the same network, the same city; her editor protected her, while no one made that decision for Pearl, who paid for the truth with his life. She described journalism as going to places no one else will go, asking questions no one else will ask, and carrying the truth back. Pearl’s killers filmed the murder to terrify others into silence—but it did not work. Courage spreads just as fear does. She praised Judea Pearl and his family for turning the worst thing that can happen to a family into a light for others. The threat has changed shape: from a camera and a knife to technology that floods the world with lies, turns truth-tellers into criminals, and operates at a scale Pearl’s killers could never have imagined. “The line now travels faster than the fact… And that is how democracy dies. Not with one blow, but… death by a thousand cuts.” Her call: “We hold the line. We don’t duck. We don’t hide.” She recounted her own 11 arrest warrants and criminal charges under Duterte (she still needed Philippine Supreme Court permission to travel to the event), the long fight to win most of those cases, and the irony that Duterte was later arrested under an ICC warrant for crimes against humanity and is awaiting trial in The Hague—while some of Rappler’s work forms part of the evidence against him. She warned of the “Philippine-ization of America” and described the current moment as an “Information Armageddon” (the battle is ongoing, not over). She closed by posing the question Pearl answered with his life—the same question she has posed to Filipinos and now to Americans: “What are you willing to sacrifice for the truth?”

Facing Up to 4 Years, Controversial Backroom Deal would let Islamist Demonstrator Who Killed Jewish-American Paul Kessler 4-Weeks After Oct. 7 — Serve Almost No Jail Time. Update: Sentencing rescheduled moved to June 30th 9am

June 23: This is a landmark case. When Hamas invaded and massacred Israelis on October 7, 2023, the United States saw more than 12,000 anti-Israel protests in the following months. On November 5, 2023 — just 29 days later — Loay Alnaji, who had come from the Islamic Society of Simi Valley with other members, struck and killed 69-year-old Paul Kessler for the simple act of holding an Israeli flag at a “Justice for Palestine” protest in Thousand Oaks.

Just 29 days after the October 7, 2023 Hamas massacre, the Islamic Society of Simi Valley — from an area with too few Jews to annoy locally — deliberately returned to the more Jewish neighborhood of Thousand Oaks where they antagonized residents and incited people against their Jewish neighbors. It was during that protest that Loay Alnaji struck Paul Kessler in the face with a megaphone. The coroner found welt marks on Kessler’s face consistent with the blow. Mr. Kessler fell, suffered fatal head trauma, and died the next day.

The case saw numerous continuances both before and after the death of original presiding Judge Ryan Wright in September 2025. Following Wright’s death, the case was briefly handled by Supervising Judge Anthony Sabo. In March 2026, it was reassigned to Judge Derek Malan, who had previously served as a Deputy District Attorney in the Ventura County DA’s Office during the same period as defense attorney Ron Bamieh.

On May 5, 2026, Alnaji entered a guilty plea to involuntary manslaughter. According to his attorney Ron Bamieh, Judge Derek Malan offered the plea deal — up to 365 days in county jail plus 3 years formal probation — after several private meetings with the defense attorney alone. Bamieh told reporters that Judge Malan had characterized the killing as nothing more than “two old guys had a dispute and an accident happened.”

Private meetings between a judge and only one side in a criminal case are highly unusual and generally considered inappropriate under California judicial ethics rules. Canon 3B(7) strongly discourages ex parte communications — discussions about a pending case with only one party (in this instance, only the defense) while excluding the prosecutor and the victim’s family. Canon 3E further requires a judge to disqualify himself if there is a reasonable basis for the public to question his impartiality. Judge Malan’s own reported characterization of this killing as nothing more than “two old guys had a dispute and an accident happened” — made after multiple private meetings with only the defense attorney and over the strong objections of the District Attorney and the victim’s family — significantly heightens the appearance of potential bias or favoritism.

This approach bypassed normal protocol in which plea negotiations are conducted by the District Attorney with input from the victim’s family. The Ventura County DA’s office and Paul Kessler’s family strongly objected, yet their position was overruled. Sentencing is scheduled for June 25, 2026.

This is the predictable outcome of a system that has repeatedly refused to treat antisemitic violence with the seriousness it deserves.

Look at the clear pattern of antisemitic crimes inflicted on Jewish people in Los Angeles in recent years:

UCLA Encampment (Spring 2024): Over 200 arrests, but the only two people actually prosecuted were Jewish pro-Israel counter-protesters.
2020 BLM attacks on Jewish stores (Beverly Blvd, Fairfax Blvd, Pico Blvd): Numerous Jewish-owned businesses were smashed, looted, and robbed, many with explicit antisemitic targeting. Virtually zero meaningful prosecutions or sentences.
Adas Torah Synagogue riot (June 2024): Muslims rioted and battered Jews outside the synagogue. Zero reported prosecutions or sentences for the attackers.

Yet in Paul Kessler’s case — the first prominent killing of a Jewish-American by a Muslim anti-Israel demonstrator — it was not merely “an accident between two old guys.” The eyewitnesses tell a very different story.

Never Again is not a slogan — it is a command. If we allow this targeted killing of a Jewish man holding an Israeli flag to be reduced to a mere “accident,” with the killer potentially serving only a tiny fraction of an already lenient sentence while he continues to collect a paycheck, we betray Paul Kessler and send a clear message that Jewish lives are disposable.

Paul Kessler’s blood cries out from the ground in Thousand Oaks. Let it not cry in vain.

"It's titled Made in America," Van Fleet explained at the American Freedom Alliance event in Los Angeles. "The subtitle — The Hidden History of How the U.S. Enabled Communist China and Created Our Greatest Threat — is very important." The book's central argument is that China's rise was not an accident of history or an inevitability of economics. It was built, piece by piece, with American money, technology, and willful blindness.

What Communism Is Really About

Van Fleet pushes back hard against the assumption that politicians aligned with socialist or communist ideology are simply misguided idealists who wish to improve other people's lives. That framing, she argues, fundamentally misunderstands the nature of the ideology.

"Communism is really about power. It's nothing about improving people's lives. Never. That's just a tactic — before they take over, that's how they try to convince the public. Once they get power, they will try to maintain power. That is their focus. Always."

The question of whether Western politicians who embrace socialist rhetoric are true believers or cynical opportunists, she suggests, may be less important than the structural outcome: one-party dominance. "State like California is good," she said pointedly, "but they want the whole country that way."

She also addressed the fear — common among critics of the left — that communist-style authoritarianism would require the kind of mass violence that characterized Mao's China. Not necessarily, she warns. "They don't have to kill millions. As long as they're in power, they can do all sorts of things." The Cultural Revolution's 20 million deaths, she noted, were mostly inflicted not by government agents with guns, but by ordinary citizens turned against each other — a fact she finds more disturbing, not less.

The Street and the Square: A Revolutionary Parallel

When the conversation turned to the wave of protest movements that have swept American cities in recent years — from the 2020 racial justice demonstrations to the "No Kings" rallies — Mrs. Li Schoolland drew an immediate and visceral parallel.

"That reminds me of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Mao encouraged young people to go on the street and condemn everything good — knowledge, history, art, music, anything with culture or thinking or philosophy. They went on the street to condemn all that."

But she stopped short of despair. America's constitutional foundations, she argued, provide a buffer that China never had. "Our country is founded on the principle of liberty, freedom, democracy, and the rule of law. So even though they have many demonstrations, it's not going to change anything." The critical difference, she emphasized, is that in America the demonstrators cannot become the government by force. In China, they already were.

Xi Van Fleet, meanwhile, traced the funding behind the current protest wave to sources far closer to Beijing than most Americans realize. She pointed to investigations by journalist Asra Nomani, which reportedly traced financing for recent "No Kings" protests to American tech billionaire Neville Roy Singham — a self-described Marxist living in Shanghai who reportedly funnels hundreds of millions of dollars through a network of pro-China activist groups. "That's how China is reaching out and influencing," Van Fleet said.

The Invisible Occupation

Perhaps the most startling claims in both interviews concern not geopolitical maneuvering, but the physical presence of CCP influence on American soil. Mrs. Schoolland did not mince words.

She described Chinese nationals who drove luxury cars in 2020 protest parades — not out of solidarity, she argued, but out of satisfaction. "Anything that hurts the United States, they're happy about. But they're sitting in the United States, enjoying our taxpayer-funded benefits and technology and freedom. They cannot do the same thing back in China — there's no way."

On the question of CCP influence within American political parties, Mrs. Schoolland was careful but clear. "I don't know, but I'm sure there's a lot of money going to candidates. A lot of influence." When asked whether she would be surprised to learn the CCP was behind funding current demonstrations, she replied: "I won't be surprised at all. Because that's what they want. They think the US is the enemy. They want to hurt us in every means."

Racism, Envy, and the Psychology of a Rising Power

One thread that runs through both interviews, and that rarely surfaces in mainstream discourse, is China's internal racial hierarchy. When critics of Chinese government policy are dismissed as "racist," Mrs. Schoolland offered a pointed rebuttal.

"If you talk about racist — China is the most racist nation. Chinese people will not sit next to a person with darker skin than theirs. They think those people carry some kind of disease. That's the attitude. And they look at the West with envy — envy that leads to hate. So they have to put themselves up in order to look down at other people, especially the United States."

The goal, she argued, is not simply economic competition or geopolitical rivalry. "They want to be the world power — in control. But they also know they can't control America directly. What they can do is influence the politicians, the government. Bring America down enough that they rise by comparison."

June 4th: The Wound That Must Not Be Named

Which brings us back to today's date. Mrs. Schoolland's account of what happened at Tiananmen Square on June 4, 1989 — and what has happened to the memory of it since — is perhaps the most intimate part of either interview.

"Deng Xiaoping ordered tanks and nearly the entire military to Beijing," she recounted. "They killed innocent, unarmed citizens and students by the thousands." She described a woman she knew personally who lost her legs under the treads of a tank, and who was forced to tell people she had been hit by a bus. "What would happen if someone mentioned it was a government shame?" she was asked. "You disappear," she replied. "In prison — or just disappear. Some forever."

The numbers 6 and 4 cannot appear together on Chinese social media. The generation that lived through it does not dare speak of it. The generation that came after does not know it happened. In Hong Kong, where annual candlelight vigils once drew tens of thousands, Victoria Park this year hosted a government-organized carnival — a deliberate act of cheerful erasure. The June 4th Museum was forced to close. Its organizers were jailed.

Mrs. Schoolland pointed those who want to learn more toward several organizations: Dialogue China, the Chinese Human Rights Foundation, and the June 4th Memorial Museum. For a government that controls an economy of 1.4 billion people and a military of two million, it is telling that a few websites and a memorial museum are still considered threatening enough to suppress.

What Is to Be Done?

Both women resist fatalism. Mrs. Schoolland places her faith in America's libertarian and constitutional tradition — in the idea that the rule of law, properly defended, cannot be toppled by street theater alone. Xi Van Fleet places her faith in knowledge: the belief that Americans who understand what communism actually is, and what it actually does, will refuse to sleepwalk into it.

"Understanding this hidden history," Van Fleet has written of her new book, "is essential for Americans in confronting the CCP's global ambitions and stopping the spread of communism at home." The word "hidden" is doing a lot of work in that sentence. The history is not secret. It is simply inconvenient — and, like the events of June 4th, 1989, subject to a kind of voluntary amnesia that the CCP did not need to impose, because enough people in the West were willing to impose it on themselves.

On this anniversary, two women who lost years of their lives to communist China are doing what the CCP most fears: remembering out loud.

Joe Kent Didn’t Resign. He Was Undone By His Own Anti-Zionist Rot

Media outlets are framing Joe Kent’s resignation as the director of the National Counterterrorism Center because of principled opposition to the Trump Administration’s war on Iran. Principles had nothing to do with it.

He left (more likely shoved out), accusing the administration of entering war with Iran because of “pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby” (that’s AIPAC in case you missed the subtlety), while insisting Iran posed no imminent threat to the United States. There, in one tidy little package, was the full intellectual collapse of a part of the American right: not realism, not prudence, not restraint, but the old reflex that when events become complicated, blame the Jews.

This is how anti-interventionism curdles into something rancid. It begins with a sensible warning against quagmires and crusades. It ends with the suggestion that America has no enemies in the Middle East worth worrying about, only allies worth resenting. Iran’s aggression? Secondary. Its terror proxies? Background noise. Its imperial ambitions? Mere detail. The real culprit, we are told, is Israel, with its magical ability to make American officials forget where America’s interests lie.

That is not foreign-policy realism. It is your run-of-the-mill Blood Libel.

Kent matters because he is not your average groyper. He occupied one of the government’s top counterterrorism posts. Kent was supposed to be the serious face of “America First” discipline. Instead, on his way out the door, he sounded like a man who had absorbed too much of the Carlson catechism: every Middle East crisis is a trap, every ally a burden, every Jewish concern a manipulation.

And one cannot ignore the possibility that Kent’s departure was less an act of a lonely conscience than a politically convenient separation. Officially, he resigned over the war in Iran. Unofficially, he was not just an ally of Tucker Carlson; he was, in no small measure, a Carlson creation.

A quick public check turns up at least six Carlson appearances that are easy to verify in the public record—August 26, 2021; September 8, 2021; December 2, 2021; January 21, 2022; June 9, 2022; and April 8, 2023—and local coverage at the time described those bookings more broadly as “frequent appearances” that helped elevate Kent’s campaign.

Carlson did not treat Kent as just another guest. He showcased him as an “America First” candidate, giving him repeated prime-time exposure while Kent was running for Congress. Tucker praised his analysis so effusively that he told him, “the fact that you’re not in Congress tells you a lot about the forces you’re up against,” before wishing him “godspeed.” He later publicly grouped Kent among the candidates he was “standing behind.” (ManoWhisper)

Nor did it help Kent that he was so closely identified with Tucker Carlson, just as Carlson’s increasingly deferential posture toward Iran was coming under growing scrutiny.

And if that wasn't enough, Candace Owens cast Kent as the man bold enough to track down how (as Owens alleges) the Trump Family and the Mossad assassinated Charlie Kirk. Public reporting says Kent reviewed FBI files to examine possible foreign involvement, alarming FBI leadership, who feared interference with the criminal case against the accused shooter. That was enough to make him a hero to the conspiratorial right, which requires very little evidence and thrives on dark insinuation.

That is the pattern now. Every institution that resists these fantasies is corrupt. Every investigation that refuses to validate them is a cover-up. Every refusal to blame Israel is proof that Israel is to blame. This is not skepticism. It is the Protocols of the Elders of Zion-induced paranoia with a geopolitical vocabulary.

The larger issue is not Kent himself. It is what his exit exposes. There are still conservatives who believe “America First” means a disciplined ranking of interests, a dislike of foolish wars, and a sober recognition that allies and enemies are not interchangeable categories. Then there is the newer faction, for which “America First” means something rather simpler: Israel last, Israel always, Israel somehow at fault.

That faction has contributed one unoriginal idea to American politics: that every conflict involving Jews can be explained by Jewish influence. It is a marvel of economy. No need to study Tehran. No need to understand deterrence, proliferation, proxy warfare, or regional power politics. Just mutter darkly about “the lobby,” and Netanyahu being the puppet masters of the US government (along with the banks, media, etc.), the world suddenly becomes legible to the aggrieved.

We have seen this before. The vocabulary changes. The animus does not.

Kent’s departure should therefore be read as more than a resignation letter. It is a declaration that the President and the conservative movement have had it with Carlson’s cult of displacement, in which responsibility for the world’s disorders is shifted steadily, obsessively, almost liturgically onto the Jewish and the Jewish state.

And once a political movement reaches the point where its first instinct is to look at Iran’s aggression and ask what Israel did to provoke it, the lurch is complete. It is no longer merely non-interventionist. It is anti-Zionist. It is no longer merely skeptical. It is credulous toward enemies and contemptuous toward Jews.

In the end, Joe Kent’s resignation tells us less about one man than about a faction. A faction that no longer knows the difference between prudence and cowardice, between realism and resentment, between legitimate debate and the ancient pleasure of blaming the Jew.

That is not just a course correction.

It is, one hopes, a collapse.

The Washington–Qatar–Israel–Iran crisis is no longer a single storyline. It is a convergence of pressure points: Gaza’s unfinished war, Iran’s nuclear trajectory, Chinese-Iranian military ties, and the role of mediators whose influence shapes what Washington considers “realistic.”

Recent Pentagon movements complicate the simple narrative that the United States is hesitating. Reports indicate U.S. refueling aircraft have shifted from Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base, while the USS Gerald R. Ford carrier strike group has been positioned near Israel’s northern coast. Those moves can signal deterrence, strike preparation, force protection, or leverage in ongoing negotiations. They do not resemble abandonment.

That context matters when revisiting two DemoCast interviews that now feel prescient.

At the Republican Jewish Coalition Leadership Summit on November 2, 2025, geopolitical analyst Ken Abramowitz argued that ideological regimes rarely stop voluntarily. Negotiations may be attempted first, he said, but enforcement ultimately determines outcomes.

Two Power Blocs, One Strategic Reality

Mr. Abramowitz frames the Middle East as shaped by two dominant ideological blocs: an axis centered around Qatar and Turkey aligned with the Muslim Brotherhood, and Iran’s revolutionary regime. Whether one agrees with every descriptor, the structural observation stands. Both systems expand influence through proxy networks, financing channels, media ecosystems, and diplomatic positioning.

His strategic claim was blunt: in military affairs you need capability and willingness. Israel, he argues, clearly retains both. The present question is whether the United States is pacing its use of capability — or withholding willingness.

Hostages, Mediation, and Leverage

Speaking with DemoCast at the NRB Convention in Nashville on Friday, February 20, 2026, Rev. Washington warned that frameworks relying on voluntary disarmament by Hamas were structurally unsound and that political loyalty should never override accountability.

The hostage-first approach in Gaza inevitably created leverage for Hamas. If hostages are prioritized, the party holding them retains bargaining power. When bargaining power exists, mediators become indispensable.

This is where Qatar’s role becomes structurally significant. Mediation itself is not malign. But when a mediator becomes indispensable, mediation can turn into leverage. The party that controls access controls tempo.

Rev. Washington warned that expecting Hamas to voluntarily disarm misunderstands both its charter and its incentives.

Rev. Washington believes that if enforcement mechanisms remain theoretical, peace frameworks risk becoming messaging frameworks.

China, Iran, and the Expanding Perimeter

The crisis is not limited to Gaza. Reports that Iran is nearing acquisition of Chinese-made anti-ship missile systems, alongside U.S. sanctions targeting supply chains feeding Iranian drone networks, reflect a widening strategic perimeter. This does not equate to a formal proxy war between Beijing and Washington. But it does indicate that Iran’s military ecosystem intersects with global procurement and partnership channels.

At the same time, homeland security assessments describe a dynamic domestic threat environment shaped by terrorism risks, espionage concerns, and potential retaliatory activation of aligned networks. Major military decisions are never taken in isolation from domestic vulnerability calculations.

Strategic Ambiguity or Strategic Leverage?

The emerging picture may not be surrender or retreat, but coercive diplomacy under guard — military assets positioned visibly enough to deter, negotiations extended long enough to test intentions, and strike capacity held in reserve.

If force posture adjustments are designed to pressure Iran into ceding enrichment capacity or accepting verifiable limits, then delay may function as leverage rather than hesitation.

The evidence suggests stated objectives remain intact: dismantling Hamas’s governing capacity and preventing a nuclear-armed Iran. What appears unsettled is method and sequence.

Major military decisions reflect multi-theater risk assessment: Iranian retaliation, proxy activation, maritime disruption, cyber escalation, and domestic security exposure all factor into the calculus. Strategic pacing may reflect layered risk calculation rather than reversal.

But pacing carries risk. Time can extract concessions — or strengthen the adversary’s depth. Deterrence does not fail when force is delayed. It fails when force is no longer believed possible.

The coming weeks will determine whether current ambiguity produces enforceable constraints — or forces confrontation under less favorable conditions.

Mr. Abramowitz’s warning about capability and will still stands. Rev. Washington’s warning about confusing messaging for enforcement still stands.

The difference now is that the chessboard has become visible. The question is not whether the United States is deciding. It is whether its adversaries believe it will.

On this Holocaust Remembrance Day, which marks the 81st anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, it’s worth reflecting on a disturbing pattern: how propaganda has been used to vilify Jews in different eras. The lessons we thought we learned from World War II— about the dangers of hateful narratives—seem to be fading. Today, some of the same tactics used by the Nazis are being deployed by Islamist/ Marxist movements and their supporters to turn public opinion against Israel, with worrying consequences.

What Happened in Nazi Germany

The Nazis used propaganda to convince Germans that Jews were the root of society’s problems. Newspapers, posters, and films portrayed Jewish people as subhuman and dangerous, blaming them for economic woes and cultural decay. These messages played on centuries-old prejudices in Europe, where anti-Semitic stereotypes had taken root in Christian doctrine and culture. The propaganda worked. Ordinary Germans accepted these lies, enabling the persecution and eventual genocide of six million Jews.

How It’s Happening Again

Fast forward to today, and we see a similar playbook being used by Hamas and its allies, including Qatar. Through modern media and social networks, they spread the message that Israel is an oppressor, responsible for all Palestinian suffering. Casualty figures from the Gaza Ministry of Health—controlled by Hamas—are often inflated or misleading, but they’re repeated by Western media without much scrutiny. Staged events and manipulated images also flood the internet, painting Israel as a brutal aggressor.

Phrases like “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” or “Free Palestine” have become rallying cries in protests worldwide. But few stop to question the implications—these slogans call for the elimination of Israel. Meanwhile, Israel’s side of the story, including its right to defend itself against rocket attacks and terrorism, is often ignored.

Why It Matters

Just as Nazi propaganda dehumanized Jews to justify their persecution, today’s anti-Israel narratives have made it acceptable to vilify and scapegoat Jewish people once again. In cities across the West, we’ve seen people tearing down posters of kidnapped Israelis, vandalizing Jewish schools and synagogues, and chanting slogans that call for Israel’s destruction.

This isn’t just about spreading lies and hatred; it’s about how those lies pave the way for authoritarian tyranny. The Islamo-Marxist scapegoating of the Jewish state echoes Nazi tactics: using propaganda to consolidate power by uniting people against a common enemy. In Nazi Germany, this propaganda enabled National Socialists to dominate Europe, suppress dissent, and commit atrocities not only against Jews but against all who opposed their rule. Today, Hamas and its allies exploit similar methods to justify their authoritarian agendas and silence diverse voices within their societies.

The Bigger Picture

What’s most alarming is how easily the media and the public have bought into this propaganda. On this solemn day of remembrance, we should ask ourselves: Have we really learned the lessons of the Holocaust? The Nazis taught the world that scapegoating Jews isn’t just dangerous for them—it’s a tool for tyranny that harms everyone. If we fail to recognize and challenge these tactics, we risk enabling the rise of new authoritarian movements that use hatred and division to manipulate society under absolute power.

Israel's war on Hamas has taken centre stage at Glastonbury, one of the world's most iconic music festivals. According to Qatari Al Jazeera reporter Mr. Zein Basrav: London-based punk duo Bob Vylan led crowds in chants against the Israeli military, whilst Irish hip-hop trio Kneecap delivered a set that was part concert, part political statement to a crowd of 30,000.

The Israeli embassy condemned remarks made during performances as 'hateful', and UK police are reviewing footage to determine if any laws were broken. -

The controversy has sparked a national debate on free expression and political activism in music.

Whilst some criticized the performances as inflammatory, others defended them as reflecting the spirit of protest that has long been associated with Glastonbury. The festival has once again highlighted the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the polarizing nature of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on the global stage.

Ultimately failing to avert war, the D-Day invasion of France, which, marking the start of the Allied invasion of Nazi-occupied Western Europe, landed on June 6, 1944 - 5 years and 8 months later.

On the 81st anniversary of D-Day, we honor the valor of those who stormed the beaches of Normandy, confronting the consequences of delayed action against tyranny. gathered on the 70th anniversary of D-Day, accompanied by their families and friends commemorate the 70th Anniversary of D-Day on Friday, June 6, 2014at the 94th Aero Squadron in Van Nuys, California.

Several veteran pilots, both of the European and Pacific theaters of operation, shared their experience and attitudes with us about defending liberty from imperialism. The veteran pilots retell their experiences and share perspective on confronting tyranny today.

Wilbur Richardson, a B-17 Ball-Turret Gunner, flew 30 missions in 79 days, and two of them on D-Day. During his 30th mission, the German Axis forces wounded the Air-Force gunner. A highly decorated WWII Combat veteran, he was awarded the Purple Heart and DFC / Distinguished Flying Cross just to list a couple.

We asked whether he thought the U.S., Canadian, and British countries' sacrifices to save The West from authoritarian tyranny (then Japanese and Nazi German) was worth its cost. He also shares his perception about applying our defenses nowadays to the threats from imperialist Communism and Islamism.

Bob Donovan volunteers with aging and impoverished veterans, as well as arranging external support through Operation Gratitude C.A.R.E.-type packages and letters from home. In the 2nd half of this clip, Mr. Donovan introduces Lee Levitan, a Jewish-American World War II bombardier who dropped bombs from European-launched US B-26's on Nazi occupied Europe.

Mr. Levitan tells us, "I was aware as a youngster from 1936 or so on, exactly what was happening in Germany and what was being done to the Jewish population. And it just made me feel a lot better about what I was doing and that we were successful with it. Because if we were not, I don't think any of us (for the most part - in the Jewish population) would be here today talking about it today. And what Hitler's mission was - and you hear about it today, I hear about it today what his plans were. Had he come over here he would have exterminated every Jew on the planet, I believe. So thank God for the way it worked out.

Mr. Levitan continued, "Israel is still in jeopardy and has been all these years. They are our front line in in that region of the world. They're right there and I support Israel with every fiber in my being. They're our front line of defense in that region of the world so we have to be very thankful and very supportive of Israel which we are and I'm proud about our country being that way."

On the 2014 anniversary of the US D-Day invasion of France, Marte Cohen, then a teenage, French nurse - served in Nazi occupied Paris. She reflects what the Allied Forces' invasion meant to the French citizenry.

Mrs. Cohen also reflects on how she survived the 4-year Axis Forces' occupation - and pays tribute to the Christian-French patriots who helped to protect their Jewish fellow countrymen.
