You would think that at my age , I would be cynical and untrusting of all politicians since I've worked on a few campaigns,but I consider myself a believer in the American electorate despite considerable evidence that they are finecky and unreliable.

Just a short time after 2006 and 2008 ,where it seemed we had recovered from the disaster of 2000 recounts and horrific 2004 results, the architects of the Wall Street meltdown will be back in power. They will have successfully blamed President Obama for ALL Americas ills or is America still quick to blame Black people whenever things go wrong.

Obama will have been tied to big spending on tarp and the stimulus even though many experts say we had no choice but to bail out the banks, auto industry and mortgage companies.The failed wars ,the mismanagement of the US economy (tax cuts for the wealthy while America leaked billions after 9/11),everything else is now Obamas fault becaus he didn't waive a magic wand and fix everything.Back people know but how many turn out for a midterm election

The uninformed all blame Obama for all this even as it's obvious to all that he wasn't even president when all this transpired.Obama tried to work with the Republicans ,naively believing that the party of bigots and idiots would be able to see past his skin color and do what was best for a struggling nation.Obama's biggest mistake was trusting that while Republicans disagreed on policy issues ,they would be able to contain the nutbaggers and kooks in their base who just hate the idea of a Black man as president,and would assault him on everything ridiculous including whether or not he was even a natural-born citizen.

By questioning his legitimacy ,Republicans have been able to appeal to the "red-neck" faction of their party,and motivating that side that always considered Blacks inferior to them and worthy only of subservient positions.By labelling him a con and a secret Muslim ,they dehumanized Obama to those that already hated the possibilty that the White power structure could be challenged.

They may have succeeded too unless fair minded people do something about it-if you want to go back to a time of endless investigations , shut-down government, Clinton style political lynchings ,and nothing being done to protect the middle-class and working people ,while big business and corporate lobbyists steal your Government away from you, then don't take a proactive stand .Vote ,donate and voluntee to elect sensible people willing to face America's mounting problems.If you disagree with some of the Democratic agenda -fine but just remember what the last eight years of Bush were like.Do you want to go back?

If you name Ayers , Wright , ACORN (helped minority voting rights, President Obama and Van Jones you win. What do they all have in common? They are Black. In a nation where African Americans make up only 10% of the population , Fox News spends an inordinate time on Black people and how bad they are.(read the paragraph on voter intimidation). The reality is Philly is registered Democrat 60-40% and Republicans have little chance of winning in Philly even if an isolated case of stupidity and intimidation is verified.Yet the incident drew considerable coverage in conservative media outlets. A Media Matters for America analysis found that between June 30 and July 14 of 2010, Fox News covered the story 95 times, including 45 segments on America Live with Megyn Kelly. 95 times for one incident of voter intimidation.

In comparison , how many times did Fox News cover NUMEROUS incidents of STATE TROOPERS in Florida blocking poll stations and chasing away Black voters when Jeb Bush was Governor and his brother was running? Not one isolated incident but a pattern of state sponsored violations of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Which pray tell is a bigger threat to democracy , one isolated incident albeit from the NBPP ( a marginal group at best) or state funded intimidation common in the South during the fifties and sixties and rearing its ugly head recently while President Bush's justice department was firing US attorneys who they thought gave little credence to voter intimidation against White people by Black. Given that Florida ended in a tie with the margin of some 500 votes and thousands also found their names mysteriously removed from voter rolls ( Katherine Harris anyone?) , can you see which one is the bigger problem?

As a politically active person i can't tell you how many times i argue with these folks and their sheeple who just spout stuff they heard from race-baiter -in -chief Rush Limbaugh and his cohorts Glenn Beck , Sean Hannity , Ann Coulter , Michelle Malkin and co.Not one of them feels any need to take the time and google themselves so they can have independent research in order to form their views, because any news source other than Fox is the vast left wing Liberal media . You hear it whispered among Republicans- Peggy Noonan just about said it in the WSJ . He's not qualified. Hes a teacher not a leader. These are some of the nicer things said about him but i wonder this- This man took over when the whole world economy was on the brink of disaster - a disaster precipitated by a Republican Administration that closed its eyes as Wall Street almost took us down - a feat Osama bin ladin would have envied. So you hate TARP but it staved off systemic bank failure as far as i can see . And we have had a recovery albeit a shaky one.

Remember the dire straights the auto industry was in. Auto leaders were shuttling to D.C daily begging for help.How about Healthcare? Administration after administration has tried to fix healthcare or even to pass fixes. Only President Obama has ever gotten it passed . Give him that even if you don't like this plan in its current form. Unemployment is killing him but remember when 30% was the prediction if the global meltdown had taken place?

I'm not stupid enough to blame him for the oil spill but he did extract $20 billion from BP without a court case or one subpoena- seems pretty effective to me. In Afghanistan, he bucked his base and escalated the war- i don't agree with him but how can defending America's interests abroad with national security implications be a sign of immaturity or unreadiness. Actually the easy thing would have been to pull all the troops from Iraq and Afghanistan , try Bush/Cheney for war crimes and cruise to re-election but he didn't.

President Obama has acted well very presidential some good some bad, but i have a hard time believing that these people , who i notice can't bring themselves to call him President Obama , just Obama like he's their classmate and not the President of the USA, say oh its not his race. The conventional wisdom is that banks don't want to own a house. In California , where most of the sub-prime loans were originated , LA County is demanding that homeowners clean and maintain their properties or face significant fines.That's because many foreclosed homes are just sitting there and they are so many that the market isn't there (housing starts are down again this month) , so banks have to use their shrinking profits to pay for a landscaper and maintenance service.

If you go to consumer reports you will see where most mortgage holders when hit by resets on the funky loan products being dished out , genuinely tried to work with the financial institutions. Story after story emerges of how, after sticking these unwary consumers into predatory loans , lying or sticking new terms into contracts, failing to disclose material changes to key loan terms that even an MBA would have a hard time with, the companies like a Countrywide Financial (RIP) then engaged in a game . First there's the no call back , then the send more documents , then there was the "we didn't get them" , then the you were denied a modification , all to run out the clock because hey they (CW or even Bank of America) knew many of the consumers didn't really qualify for the loans and it would be better if the loan foreclosed because maybe if the housing market improved , they could get " better" people in those homes.

Three million homes have foreclosed in two years-that's criminal. That's three million plus dreams crushed by greedy unscrupulous people who stole the American Dream in their zeal to make profits - and when the market crashed they ran with millions parked in their banks. Life isn't fair . Where was Government ? you know those we depend on to protect us or at least make sure the field is level? They were getting VIP loans from CW.
