No More Etsy

2018-11-25T12:32:00.001-08:00

I finally did it, I just shut it down completely. I love to craft, and make things, but after 10 years it is time to do something else. I have given up on Ebay as well. I will keep this blog going, it will just change. I might switch to health topics, as that is what I do for a profession. I am looking at Health Coaching in the new year. I will obviously change the name of the blog too,. Just not sure to what yet. Stick around and see what I come up with.

From my new Cafe Press art account, this beautiful Lion keepsake box. The art was done by me, with gel pens. I love using different types of media. I am used to acrylics, but I really enjoy the control, odor free, and mess free capabilities with gel pens. This box is shown in black, but is also available in Mahogany. Great gift idea for a man, anyone with a birthday in August, or just an animal lover. Great for graduation, weddings, Christmas, etc. Click here to visit the website and check out this item. This is a great office party gift idea, or to bring to an evening party invite. This is a blue glass wine bottle. It is sealed, and never used. You can put wine in it, candy, or just about anything else that will fit. I hand etched on the snow flakes, all around the bottle, and the saying Tis the Season. Great for New Years too, and now on sale! Until the end of July this is priced at $25.90. Click here to visit my Etsy store to purchase, or check out my other sale items for Christmas in July.

Christmas in July Sale Vintage Pooh Hanging Christmas Stockings Cross Stitch Table Cloth

2018-07-07T17:09:00.000-07:00

I am trying hard to get all 14 Christmas in July sale items up to this blog. This is item #2. This is a finished counted cross stitch, done by me back in t he 9o's when I worked night shift. Then I had it sewn onto the most beautiful fabric and the trim is all holly berries. This has never been displayed, nor washed. I put it in a ziploc bag and it has been stored in a trunk ever since completion. I completely forgot about it until recently when I was going through old bins that hadn't been gone through in years. It is in perfect condition, may need a washing, on gentle and I would recommend in one of those protective laundry bags, lie flat to dry. Hours and hours of work goes into a counted cross stitch piece. I wish I could see well enough to still do it, I love it so much. This is not cheap, and would be for a collector most likely. Check it out in my Etsy shop.

Christmas In July Missy69 Etsy, Item 1: Soft Variegated Baby Boy Crochet Blanket

2018-07-04T04:35:00.000-07:00

So, if you were following along, I didn't do so great blogging in June. My life has been crazy since April, and I sure am hoping by the end of July it will slow down a little, and be more normal. For the month of July, I am running a Christmas in July sale. There are 14 items marked down, and they center around Christmas, or cold weather. For example, this lovely baby blanket, handmade crochet with baby soft yarn in variegated blues and greens. A lot of time goes into a crochet project, and often people don't realize how much love is put into a crocheted item. Crocheted items last for years, are super warm, even the lighter yarns, and can be handed down from generation to generation. Visit my Etsy store to see this beautiful baby blanket, and maybe purchase too. I can't make the link thing work on my Nextbook, so go to Etsy and search Missy69, and you will find my shop. I will fix the link asap.

Tomorrow is Father's Day, in the USA, and if you still have no idea what to get Dad, check out the item below. I finally opened up my Cafe Press, and am starting to add art work, and photography. Military Father's Day Gift Idea Painted Chef Grill Apron

2018-06-04T17:08:00.000-07:00

It appears that I will be leaving Redbubble. I have been trying for days to edit, and upload new work, and it just won't work no matter what I try. I have read in the forums that there are all kinds of issues there. I will probably be moving my photography and art items to Cafe Press. It will take a while to do that, however.

Featured item for Father's Day today, is a hand painted chef apron, perfect for grilling. It is a patriotic military theme with Bald Eagle, and American Flags. This is available for purchase in my Etsy store.

June Sale Vintage Barbie Marzipan Etsy

2018-06-02T09:04:00.000-07:00

Every month I run a new sale in my Etsy shop. There are 19 items on sale for the month of June. Each is marked down 40%. I am going to share a new sale item, hopefully every day in June, until they are all posted, and in between those some of my Art available on Redbubble. Blogging every day is not something I have been good at sticking to, but I will try. Some days may be shorter than others, lol. See the description for the Barbie below, and click here, to visit my Etsy store to purchase.

This is a vintage Barbie doll from 1998. I am not a doll expert, so please ask all questions about condition before you buy. This doll appears to be complete to me. I have looked at other listings, and researched the doll. She is in excellent condition. I don't believe she was ever played with, because her clothes and hair are in wonderful condition. May have been displayed. She was definitely removed from the box. Her brush, and shoes are in the box, and it appears the invitation is as well.

Where to Start? New Redbubble Art

2018-05-28T13:28:00.000-07:00

I haven't blogged in so long I don't know where to start. I have been so busy with my son's homeschool graduation, new job stuff, old job stuff, and homeschooling my other child, that I just have not kept up my blogging. I have not been able to be as crafty as I like, but I have gotten some new stuff done. I started a Nurse art line, and so far 3 have been completed. Below you will see the Nurses are Wise, Owl bag. This is all my original art, and is available on a variety of items. These are great gift ideas for any nurse you know. All nurses love tote bags, lol. You can see all the wise owl items by visiting my Redbubble account. You can search my other photography and art pieces, by clicking on my Redbubble profile. You can search for Missy69 on Redbubble, also.

It is getting too hot to do any more glass etching until Fall, but I am still crocheting, and of course painting. My daughter and I are going to start doing Tie Died items. I haven't done too much new jewelry, but I am having a Memorial Day Sale, in my Etsy shop. You can check it out by clicking here. It goes until the first of June. I am loving Fairy Gardening as well. Hopefully some new items for that as well, soon. I thought I might try my hand at writing. Not sure when I will fit that in, lol.

Make it Saturday!

2018-03-10T04:49:00.001-08:00

As I stated previously, I had to switch to Make it Saturday, due to my work schedule. I really have been trying diligently to edit pics, and get them uploaded to products on Redbubble. You can see my new items by clicking here. I finished one crochet neckerchief, and that is about it. I have been so busy planning a homeschool graduation, homeschooling my kids, and getting ready to redo our floors, that being creative has not been in the cards. I did get some gardening done, but still so much more I would like to do there. I saw a cool thing on Pinterest where someone painted murals on their privacy fence. I have no idea why I didn't think of that myself, but it will be added to my very long list of things to do. I have been researching jewelry trends for the 2018 year, and am going to try to get some new pieces done soon. We are on spring break next week, so I hope to get a bunch of stuff done. I haven't even had time for new glass etching pieces, or wood burning.

That brings me to my next point. I was doing a new theme for each month, mostly based around holidays. Unfortunately it has been hard to keep up with that. By the time I get time to finish something the holiday is here, and it is too late. So, I am going to do away with the monthly theme. I have some ideas on projects, like the jewelry trends, and I want to do some political art, and maybe try something new with my art projects. Of course I love to crochet, but I am sort of in a slump there. I need to do glass etching, because once it is too hot, I won't be able to do it anymore until fall. I also am slowly moving items to my Ebay shop, and am considering going to my local flea market. As soon as I get time, lol. You can always find me on Ebay by searching for Melissas Handmade, or Etsy by searching Missy69, and that is the same for Redbubble. I have not sold anything there yet. Wouldn't you love to be my first sale? I bought a new digital camera, but it didn't come with a memory card, so now I have to get one.

Make It Monday: Easter Glass Gifts

2018-02-20T15:37:00.000-08:00

Make it Monday is about to become Make it Saturday. My work schedule has changed, so that I will be working every Monday. That means most likely my craft day will be Saturday, with bits and pieces during the week. I also am considering checking out my local flea market to expand sales and exposure. I meant to go down there today, but got held up with homeschool issues. For now I will call them for info.

So, since Valentine's Day is over I decided to skip right to my March themes, since there are quite a few for March. I made these etched glass bunny pieces. The first one is kind of like a square Mason Jar. The bunny peaks through the glass at you when you are looking through the opposite side. I think this would be an adorable candy dish, small basket, or put a beta fish in there and give as a gift.

The second is a red vase with an Easter Bunny silhouette etched into the glass. It is 8 inches tall, and I showed it with a beautiful long stem red rose, that really should have been made shorter.

To find either of these items do a search in Google for Missy69, or MelissasHandmade on Etsy and or Ebay. They are not yet listed, but will be in a day or two.

The themes for the rest of February, and March are Easter, St Patricks Day, Rainbows, and anything green.

Make It Monday: Hearts Galore Etched Glass Vase

2018-02-14T07:53:00.000-08:00

For Make it Monday this week, I created this beautiful pink bud vase, the graduation mug, and a new art piece for Redbubble. Staying with the theme of pink, red, hearts and love.

First up is a pink glass vase, that I used my Dremmel to etch on the words All of My Love, and Hugs and Kisses. This will be a made to order item in my Etsy, and Ebay store, as the one shown was created for my son to give to his girlfriend. He is putting chocolate kisses in it, and one long stem rose. Great for weddings, anniversaries, engagements or Valentine's Day.

I created a new art piece for Redbubble. I can not share those images here, so click this link to visit my Redbubble page, and view all the wonderful items you can purchase there.

The large glass mug was created for my son's graduation in April. I am hoping people will put coins in it. I used my Dremmel to etch the words, Let the Adventure Begin. On the opposite side it has his name, Valedictorian, and Class of 2018 etched into the glass. This also will be a made to order item in both my Etsy, and Ebay stores. They will all be listed by tomorrow February 15th, or 16th.

Make It Monday: Love Is In the Air

2018-02-07T07:49:00.000-08:00

Monday, and yesterday, I set out some time to make some items for Valentine's Day. Since I think love should be celebrated all year, give these any time of the year to be cherished and loved. These etched glass pieces, and the one clay pot, can be used as candy dishes, candle holders, fish, small plants, etc.

I am unsure which ones will go in my Ebay shop, and which ones will go in my Etsy shop. So be sure to check both. I am missy69 on Etsy, and Melissas Handmade on Ebay. I am working on some new art for the topic of love, but it encompasses more of a pink theme. My February theme is, love, red, pink, and hearts.

The first etched glass piece is a squirrel holding a nut, and he professes I am Nuts About You! The back side has a beautiful heart. There is room on the sides where I could put a date and a name if desired.

The second one, is two love birds, and it says Love is patient and kind, and says Happy Valentines Day on the back. This one I showed with the clay pot to show how if both were purchased together, how adorable it would be.

The clay pot is a new medium of decorating clay pots for me. I found this adorable heart ribbon, and hot glued it all around the clay pot. You can see at the very top of the pot there is room for words and names if so desired.

All of these should be added to my stores within the next 24 hours.

Make it Monday: Love Birds

2018-01-30T06:57:00.000-08:00

My final Make it Monday project for January, and with a bird theme, are these adorable lovebirds wood burned onto a wooden sleigh. It is actually not 100% completed as I want to add some flowers, or hearts, or both, as at the top. I will have to see what my craft store has to offer this week. This could actually count for February theme too, as it will be love. I have not yet decided if this will go in my Ebay or Etsy store.

The other two items shown have nothing to do with birds, but were projects in the works. The box will be a made to order item in my Etsy store. The one shown was created for my son's homeschool graduation coming up. That is the theme, and logo I designed for him for his graduation. It is a gift, card, and money box that will be for memories later on. He asked me to stain it, so I will.

The blanket, is by far my most favorite baby blanket ever. The yarn was on sale, so I could only get two skeins. So, I made it in baby blanket size. It is a good size baby blanket though, 40 inch by 40 inch, so could be lap, sofa, etc blanket. I will be doing this again in larger sizes, with other yarn. I just love this design. It will probably go in my Ebay store in next couple of days. I have a partial skein of this lovely yarn left, and I need to decide what to do with it.

Pink Solitaire Gemstone Engagement Ring

2018-01-25T11:43:00.001-08:00

This lovely ring is new and available in my Etsy shop. Perfect for Valentine's Day. It is a natural pink gemstone set in a lovely thick sterling silver cathedral setting.

I have not had time to do any new bird items. I am currently working on some rainbow penguins. Hopefully that will be done soon. February should be much quieter around here, and hopefully I can get some good crafting done. I am also finishing up a crochet blanket, that I love. It will be hard to let that one go.

Make it Monday: Bird Feather Doodle Art

2018-01-09T18:41:00.000-08:00

I actually got called into work yesterday, so couldn't do any stuff on Monday. We have been in a deep freeze here in FL. It finally warmed up yesterday. I can't do glass etching when it is too hot, or too cold. Since, I missed Monday, and was pinched for time to do glass etching, I did some doodle art with the theme of birds, namely bird feather doodle art. I love doodle art, it is the best. Done with a variety of mediums, and will be available on Redbubble, probably tomorrow.

I continue to work on the new crochet blanket, which doesn't have anything to do with birds, but oh will it be beautiful. I think I said my theme for February would be Valentine's Day, but actually it will be love. Don't forget to check out my January sales in both my Etsy shop, and my Ebay shop. Each has their own set of items, and different sales. Redbubble runs sales too, but I have no control over those.

30 Days of Reflections: Day 2

2018-01-02T10:01:00.000-08:00

So, day 2 is supposed to be to reflect on what I would do if time froze for 1 hour for everyone except me. Apparently the end result is that I would spend the hour reflecting on what I would do for that hour. Good grief, that seems like a waste of time, LOL!

All the things I thought I would do, after thinking about it seemed wrong, even if for a good cause. Here are some that I decided were not good ideas:

1- Take all the dog, and pet food I can from local grocery stores, and take them to pet shelters feed the animals, and then leave the food there for the shelters to use. Awesome idea, right? No, because I would still be stealing even if for a good cause. I would think that grocery stores would just give food to shelters, but I guess not. Same for human shelters, but again the whole stealing thing.

2- Take all the money from the bank and leave it with homeless, or needy people, or those that serve these populations. Again, I would be stealing.

3- Drive as fast as I can to see how far I can get in an hour. Not good, because what if I had a car accident there would be no one to help me. Or, what if the hour ended and I didn't know it was only an hour, and then I get killed in an accident because all the frozen cars will no longer be frozen.

4- I even considered pranking all the people I could that were frozen in time. But, it occurred to me what if I get caught, and end up with a black eye, or broken nose.

See what I mean? I spent almost an hour thinking about what I would do in an hour that I was the only person not frozen in time. So, in conclusion, I would go somewhere peaceful, by water, meditate, clear my head and enjoy the peace and quiet for one hour. Oh how beautiful that would be, and no thinking. LOL!!!

What would you do for one hour if you were the only person frozen in time?

Make It Monday: New Etched Glass Pieces

2018-01-01T15:38:00.000-08:00

As promised my new Ebay store is open. It actually made me use from my old shop name, from years ago, Melissa's Menagerie of Stuff. That is way too long, so I changed it to Melissa's Handmade. I wanted Missy69. because that is the hashtag for my Etsy shop, but someone already had it taken.

The first theme for January, is birds. Below you will see the beautiful etched glass vase, with hummingbirds, and a rose. This came out so lovely. Great Valentine's Day gift. It is available in my Etsy store.

The other item was actually started a couple of weeks ago, and I finally got it finished. It is a set of 5 mason jar style jars with nautical items etched into the glass. These are also quite lovely, and would make great decor for a nursery, camp, bathroom, etc. They are available in my Ebay store.

Also, as promised, I will run a different sale each month. Neither shop has the same things in it, and the sales are different. For January, all rings are 50% off. Just in time to get your sweetie a nice piece of Jewelry for Valentine's Day. Click here, to go to my Etsy shop. My Ebay shop promotion for January, is 10 dollars off select items. 22 items are eligible for this deal, and are automatically marked down. To see my new Ebay store, click here.

30 Days of Reflection: Day 1

2017-12-29T05:19:00.000-08:00

As I stated previously, I am trying to increase my blogging with some new ideas besides just crafty stuff, or things I make. So, I am doing a 30 day blogging challenge, on reflecting. This is perfect for New Years. I do not usually do resolutions, but reflecting is something different. I will be making some resolutions, or goals for 2018, and increasing my blogging is one of them. So, lets pretend it is January 1st, lol, and start day one. I won't be doing 30 days of writing, 30 days in a row. Sorry, I am not that motivated to write, lol. But, I will get the full 30 days in. Day 1, and I found this list on Pinterest, is to name one thing I could do this month to improve my spiritual walk. Now my spiritual walk began many years ago, when I was a teen, and has been a bumpy, windy road. As I continue my walk, with age, comes some wisdom and strength that might not have been there before. Since reflecting is about getting to know yourself better, I can safely say that I jump to conclusions too quickly, especially emotionally. I am not an emotional person per say, but I do get them ugly thoughts in my head pretty quickly. Not ugly where I want to hurt someone, just ugly in spite, or anger, moodiness. So, one thing I would like to improve is to not do that. Just because something doesn't go exactly as planned, or someone annoys me, or does something I don't like, keep the ugly thoughts away. How do I do that? Good question, since I have fighting with this my whole life. But, one thing I am sure will help is to pray about it, and ask the Lord to help me bite my tongue, or bite my thoughts, lol. Sometimes ugly thoughts come out with ugly words. That is another whole issue, but if the thought isn't there the words won't come. When an ugly thought comes to mind, I will try to just shoo it away. I know it sounds kind of simple, but if I practice what I preach, meaning I teach my children to treat others the way you want to be treated, then my brain should know ugly thoughts do not fit into this. How will this help my spiritual walk? Because I can't love others, as myself, if I am having ugly thoughts about them every time I get a little annoyed. What is one thing you could do to improve your spiritual walk? Check back for day 2 coming soon. Join me if you like. If you do a post with this topic, please share link in comments, and I will check it out.
