Crochet Chunky ribbed beanie

As you all know I blog about the crochet patterns which I have tried it by myself.This week I tried out a new cap pattern after browsing for a long time on the web which is a ribbed cap. Here in Qatar, the weather has become quite cool and my son has been pleading me for a cap. In the early hours of the morning while waiting for the bus its cool and to keep him warm I made him this cap. I didnt have a chunky yarn that too that particular color. I needed that color itself as it is his school uniform color. So made it with 2 yarns and YEAH I got a chunky yarn to make for this project.

I found the pattern on youtube as I was watching some other videos. I modified the pattern little as per my son size, who is 6 yrs old but the outcome of the project was from 6 to 15yrs teenager and since the yarn material I used is also different and also the size of the hook
I used two 3ply yarns about 80 to 100 gms and 6.5 mm US hook

I started the foundation chain with 49 chain stitches and at the end of each row I made 3sc [single crochet] 4 ss [slip stitch]. This part of the pattern is best understood only when you are making the cap or beanie. This is a ribbed beanie with chunky yarn with hdc, sc, bl and ss stitches used.

In the original pattern pom pom is also attached on center of the cap but I have not attached it.

Assalamualaikum [Peace be upon you]

I know I know, that it is after many days I am writing my new post. But I am really sorry about it. My today's post is about a board game but the only difference is that it is a Crochet Board game and I hope you will all like this crochet project which I have completed and Let me tell you another thing, that this is my first time that I am writing crochet patterns. This is my own pattern as one of my followers on Instagram had asked and she was very impressed with it. As she replied this pattern is really great to take on the go as she has grandkids and would love it. So thought to write it down on my blog.

This a crochet board game which I am sure both adults and kids would love to play at their free time to relax and enjoy at some family gathering or occasions. So do share this pattern with your family and friends.

This pattern is a crochet board game with a pocket to keep the game pieces inside it. So that the game pieces do not get lost or misplaced by kids when outdoors. It can be kept inside your bag or purses easily as it gets folded or rolled into a smaller object.

Pattern

Materials used:

Used 4 different colors of yarn (approx gms) - you can select your own colors from here buy here

Light blue - 5ply satin acrylic yarn 25 gms
Dark blue - 4ply cotton yarn 15gms
Grey - 4ply acrylic yarn 15 gms
yellow - 4ply acrylic yarn 15 gms

Hook - 5mm US

Tapestry needle

Thread

Measurement:

Size of the crochet board is 8"*8" which is in Square shape so that it can be divided into 9 slots

size of pocket to attach in the center of the board game is 4"*4" or the size of the middle slot so that it is easier to roll and pieces do not drop out.

Guage (make a swatch to measure how many stitches is 1 inch)

3 rows- 1" inch

Pattern Instructions:

Chain 37

Stitches used are dc, sc, ss

1R - Leave 2 chain 1dc in each chain - (35dc)

2R - Turn chain2 and 1dc in each dc - (35dc)

3R to 20 R - Repeat Row 2

Till your desired square you have decided

Border

With Dark Blue color yarn - make a border with sc and in all the 4 corners make 2 sc and finish with an ss.

Partition in the Crochet board game

Divide the board into 3 parts from one side and rotate the board and divide into 3 parts again.

This cap is made easily I made the center of the cap of an adult size with dc and the v stitch

Crochet new born baby romper

As you all know I am not an experienced crocheter I have kids of my own but all are way past toddlers They are aged 5, 10, 13, 14. So since learn crochet I have wanted to try making a baby romper for a newborn and below is the picture of crochet baby romper

Chevron stitch Crochet dress for a girl

This is another crochet project which I am too late to post on my blog. I made this Chevron stitch crochet dress last year for my niece's daughter who was one and half years old.

Hello Readers

I know I should post more often but sometimes with crocheting time flies by and I forget to update my blog . Hope in future I will be more conscious about updating my blog posts. Today I am talking about another crochet creations by H&G Collections which is a Shell sttich crochet top for toddlers. Lets see where you can find the pattern for this crochet top

This crochet top is an intermediate level but if followed properly can be easily accomplished. I love to crochet shell stitch, its so beautiful once the work is done . Those who are interested to make this top you can find the pattern here . This is an free pattern

I have made few changes to my crochet top as I didnt want the top be too heavy for a kid as the type of yarn I used was a 5ply yarn and as this pattern was coming to shape I felt it was heavy so I made the rows alternately. If you are crocheting then you will understand what I mean. The yarns I used for this project was Nako Saten which has satin like finishing

Cute Crochet Baby Dress

Crocheting is an addiction which I found when keep crocheting something or other but absolutely too time-consuming. But finding time to create something new by some others pattern or your own pattern but I must say the end result is just wonderful. Here goes my new creation Cute crochet baby dress\

This crochet baby dress was made for 0-6 months baby which was a gift for my friends baby. The pattern for this baby dress is here. You can find notes for this pattern in detail with different videos and drafts which will help a newbie crocheter too. The stitches used in this pattern is mostly double crochet [dc]. There are many videos on youtube if you are a new crocheter check it over there.

I tried this as the design in the lower part of the baby dress looked pretty to my eyes.

Crochet Boat shaped Baby Booties Project

Hi Readers,
Here is my another post on crochet baby booties which I had finished earlier and posting now as mentioned in my old post . It was a gift to my brother’s son. This pattern contains hdc and chain stitch and dc . Though I got confused trying it for the first bootie but the second bootie was lot easier make.

The yarn I used in this was a 3 ply yarn of the brand name Hariri. It was my first mistake to think that yarn ply do not affect the sizes of the pattern when the size mentioned in the pattern was for 3 months, my booties turned out to be the size of a newborn. Then,Learnt the common most and silliest mistake in crocheting For a crochet project the yarn ply and hook size changes the whole size and dimension of the pattern.

I found the pattern of the booties while just browsing in google for easy booties to make for a crochet beginner. This pattern is a free pattern by the designer link for the pattern is below. Well, I think it turned out to be a nice booties😉 (pat on the back). The selection of color for this booties was by my husband. I said it turned out good as many of them appreciated it.

I found this pattern very easy compare to my earlier baby booties, maybe bcoz i was still newbie at that time. Now Alhamdulillah I have moved to intermediate level and hope to be an expert in this handmade crochet art

Granny square Poncho for my daughter

My Journey to CROCHET !!

My Journey to crochet started recently as of mostly a year. But Sewing and Embroidery is an old hobby. I began crocheting at the age 36 when I got an oppurtunity to join the Guinness World Record 2016.

I am an Indian, though this art of crocheting is been heard of all over the world but it is become popular recent few years. We Indians got this oppurtunity to set the Guinness World Record of Crochet Baby Blanket with 11,148 sqm in the year 2016 by an Indian (from Chennai) with name Subashri Natarajan. A team was created of the name "Mother India Crochet Queens" and all the members contributed in making this an successful achievement in each of theirs life and of course behind the screen members contribution is also involved.

My Contribution to this world record is only 2 Baby Blanket above are the images of the Baby Blanket. Thus my Journey to Crochet began.. ...
This is just the beginning and there is more to come which I will InshAllah update as my projects gets completed..
