Challenges:

Melody - Make a 3d Crown and use the little gems U have in front of u and make it like the one on the give away book. Big enough to wear.
Emjay - My challenge would be to alter something, which I have not seen you do but may have in your early video's. If so then take something which serves one purpose and change it to another.
D - Make a wedding layout include golden something in it plan it as you make it and finish it in 10 minutes
Lucinda - I would like to see you do a Golden Anniversary layout
Jo - I think it would be fun to challenge you to do a 12 x 12 page with as many layers as possible.
Norma - challenge you to do a coloring tutorial (copics or other medium), pick a color & do the whole thing with tones of said color
Marie - I would like to see you do a cigar box
Terri - a project (any will do) where the primary color is yellow. I'll throw you a bone and you can have the secondary color gray if you'd like (yellow and gray seems to be relatively popular).
Brenda - For the challenge, use your scraps and create a picture any size to frame for the wall.
Lovethatcat2 - Make something using alot of your smooches.

Slow Cooker Brats and Sauerkraut

Slow Cooker Pork and Sauerkraut

Christine Gallary

Total: 25 mins, plus 6 to 8 hrs cooking time

Makes: 4 to 6 servings

INGREDIENTS

1 medium yellow onion, halved and thinly sliced

Kosher salt

Freshly ground black pepper

2 pounds prepared or homemade sauerkraut, drained and excess

liquid squeezed out

2 teaspoons caraway seeds

10 black peppercorns

5 juniper berries

2 bay leaves

1 pound Yukon Gold potatoes, scrubbed and cut into roughly

1-1/2-inch chunks

2 pounds boneless country pork spareribs, cut crosswise

into 3-inch pieces

12 ounces cooked kielbasa, cut crosswise into 3-inch pieces

1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth

1/2 cup dry white wine

Dijon or whole-grain mustard, for serving

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Place the onion in a large bowl, season with salt and pepper, toss to coat, and place in the slow

cooker. Place the sauerkraut and caraway seeds in the bowl, season with ground pepper, toss to

combine, and lay evenly over the onions.

2. Place the peppercorns, juniper berries, and bay leaves in a 5-by-5-inch piece of cheesecloth, tie

tightly with butcher’s twine, and tuck the packet into the sauerkraut. Place the potatoes in the

bowl, season generously with salt and pepper, toss to coat, and place in an even layer over the

sauerkraut.

3. Generously season the spareribs all over with salt and pepper. Arrange the spareribs and kielbasa

over the potatoes in an even layer. Pour the chicken broth and wine into the slow cooker.

4. Cover and cook on low heat until the spareribs are fork tender and almost falling apart, about 6 to

8 hours. Remove and discard the cheesecloth with the spices. Arrange the meats, potatoes,

sauerkraut, and onions on a serving platter and drizzle with any remaining juices. Serve with

mustard.

Garden 2012 - Week 1 - FREE Seedling Pots

All of the seedling pots above were made from just 2 paper towel roll inner card board and 1 toilet paper roll base.

Cut each flattened card board core, then cut into 2 1/4 inch sections. Fold once more to create a square, then trim 3/4 of an inch on one side at each crease fold. Fold down the 3/4 inch cuts and fold them in towards the middle of the square like a cardboard box closure, alternating each lip and tucking the 4th one under the 1st. Lost, just watch the video below. Stay tuned to the next Garden post for seeding, mix used and where to place your new little seedling pots.

Clear "cello" bags made of 100% virgin, high clarity polypropylene film. Polypropylene is a material that has FDA approval for food packaging. These bags are closed with a peal-off strip that reveals a sticky band. You then fold over the longer flap on the bag and the bag seals but can be reopened. The seal is on the short side of the bag. These bags are 1.2 mil in thickness.

The 6.5 x 6.5 inch bags fit 6x6 paper stacks up to 48 sheets (PRIMA) and even fit the Making Memories stacks with the additional strip at the top of the stack.
