GTA V Details Leaked

There have been plenty of rumors regarding Rockstar’s new Grand Theft Auto game, but for once gamers might actually have some legit details.

An Examiner article released a big chunk of the leaked details stating the following:

It has recently been brought to our attention that a poster over on the official GameSpot forums have posted a massive list of unreleased information about the future title, Grand Theft Auto V. Through a post, that has since been deleted by the forum moderators over on the GameSpot forum, along with the poster, a user by the name of Gloggle has revealed that he is a friend of an ex-RockStar employee that was fired for misconduct. Now, it seems that the ex-RockStar employee now has the intentions of leaking information on GTA V

Now to move onto the details, heads up, some of these may have spoilers for past Rockstar games like Red Dead Redemption, L.A Noir, and some gameplay information from GTA V.

The protagonist will be one character and one character alone. His name is (as some rumours said) Albert De Silva. He’s a half Hispanic man who was once part of a crime family in Vice City. He decided to settle down and have kids in Los Santos. He has one son called Kevin De Silva who is your stereotypical CoD player. He’s lazy, useless and shouts racial abuse online and is really into FPS games. Kevin does admire his Dad though.
Multiplayer will hold 32 people on the Xbox 360 and PS3. I wasn’t told how many were able to be on the PC. Just like in RDR, players will be able to form Gangs. These gangs are not ranked through XP anymore, but via Reputation. Instead of gang hideouts, you can do jobs that range from robbing a launderette to breaking into a military base and stealing state-of-the-art weaponry. The Gang leader has much more control over his or her gang by being able to rank members of their gang and setting more specific objectives to specific members of their gang. Gangs can have their own territory but this only applies to areas inside the city of Los Santos.
The map is about 5x as large as the GTA IV map and the City of Los Santos takes up just under half of this area (so it’s a bit bigger than 2 GTA IV Liberty Cities). The map is (like most GTAs) separated into three different sections.
Planes are flyable; they range from World War 2 fighter planes to Private Jets.
Cars and guns are customizable to an extent, for example, you can customize a gun to have a suppressor on it and you can install nitrous into cars.

Here are some details about gameplay:

The protagonist is the “rich guy” from the GTA V debut trailer. You get to learn more about this man in the second when he talks about his troubles. You only see the protagonist twice in the trailer. First time is the side of his face and second time is when he is driving a Deceptor (Audi R8). The people robbing the jewellery store are just with the protagonist. He is driving the van ready to get away.
Gunfights are more realistic. When you are shooting a gun out of a window of a car, depending on how fast it’s going you will have troubles aiming due to shaking cameras.
Police chases are now way more than either running or driving. Depending on how wanted you are, police may bring out riot shields and flash bangs.
When someone reaches a 4 star wanted level, there will be a radio warning on some stations.
Radio stations now do traffic reports that are actually correct. So if you don’t know what route to take, you can check the traffic reports on your phone or the radio.
The in-game TV now has many more channels.
The protagonist DOES NOT die unlike in the last two Rockstar games.
The underworld actually has a working economy that you can contribute too by buying and selling drugs, weapons and illegal cars in single player.
The protagonist can take drugs which will have some effects. But smoking weed on the street walk will lead to getting a one star wanted level.
Police cars will go after you if you’re obviously breaking the speed limit. Having high speed crashes will also damage your health.

Here are some details about the wanted levels:

1 star – police follow you on foot and try to make an arrest. No sirens, no car chases (unless you are speeding).

2 stars – police will still attempt to make an arrest. If a weapon is drawn then the police will begin opening fire. Police will use stun guns if a weapon is not drawn.

3 stars – Chases begin and the police don’t care how they stop you, they just want to do it.

4 stars – road traps, radio stations and much more hostile police. Even when you have evaded them, they will still search for 24 in-game hours for someone matching your description.

5 stars – shoot to kill, arrest only if it’s made very possible. Even when you have evaded them, they will still search for 48 in-game hours for someone matching your description. Few missions become unavailable if you are wanted.

6 stars – military vehicles come after you. Even when you have evaded them, they will still search for 72 in-game hours for someone matching your description. Some missions become unavailable if you are wanted.

Keep It or Trade It: Mass Effect 3 (X360)

The Reapers were once believed to be nothing more than a horror story. Their myth was terrifying enough: a synthetic armada with the sole objective of either assimilating or destroying all organic life. But they remained nothing more than myth for centuries. Even when Commander Shepard warned of their imminent arrival, the Reapers were dismissed by the galaxy as a fixation of overactive imaginations. But Shepard was right. The Reapers are very real, and they’ve come to complete their goal. Their arrival marks the beginning ofMass Effect 3, the closing chapter of BioWare’s masterful sci-fi saga. And by delivering an emotionally charged story and tight, focused gunplay, Mass Effect 3 is a triumph.

Mass Effect 3 opens with the Reapers bombarding Earth, the beginning stage of their onslaught on the rest of the galaxy. With things getting dire on our home planet, Shepard is reinstated as Commander (fallout from ME 2’s last piece of DLC) and sent to unite the galaxy to stand against the Reaper threat. But that’s no small task. Uniting the disparate species and races means resolving long-standing cultural issues that have been around since the last Reaper attack—roughly 50,000 years ago.

To solve these issues, you’ll have to make the biggest decisions the series has to offer. Without giving away too much, you’ll decide how an ages-old conflict between creator and synthetic plays out, and whether or not a certain species has been punished enough by a devastating genocide gene. The choices you’ll make as Shepard are bigger than just Paragon or Renegade options (although that alignment is still as important as ever). They are choices that you’ll have to seriously ponder before making, because the game makes sure you feel the consequences of your actions.

With Shepard’s primary goal being the formation of a giant cosmic army, the tone of the story is less personal than Mass Effect 2. While I miss that to a degree, the tremendous scale ofMass Effect 3 more than makes up for it. BioWare captures the scope and the impact of the Reaper War wonderfully. The Citadel, once the shining galactic hub, steadily becomes overpopulated with the war’s innumerable victims and refugees. Entire species’ livelihoods are threatened as they are enslaved to the Reapers’ whims. Planets everywhere are collapsing under the strain of the war. The galaxy is at stake, and you can feel it at every turn.

But while saving the universe was the ultimate goal, it wasn’t the primary reason I fought. I fought for those I had built a relationship with over the last two games. I fought to make sure Tali had a planet to call home. I fought to give Wrex and Grunt the chance to lead the Krogans into a new life. I fought to make sure I could still hang out with my best friend/turtle Garrus after this war was over. I fought for the chance to rekindle my romance with Ashley.

My attachment to Mass Effect’s cast was vital to this game’s story, and BioWare knew that. They crammed so many beautiful character moments into Mass Effect 3 that it seemed like I was choking back tears at the turn of every hour of gameplay. Creating nuanced characters that I literally fell in love with is the game’s defining achievement. Seeing their stories end after 5 years of work was satisfying in a way no game has ever been.

Of course, your cast of characters will likely differ from mine based on deaths that may have happened in previous games, but you’ll no doubt feel the same connection to your mates. However, it’s for this reason that I can’t really recommend starting with Mass Effect 3. Your playthrough would suffer from diminished relationships that lack importance, and the numerous dangling story threads that are either mentioned or resolved altogether would lose a lot of their emotional impact if you weren’t there in Mass Effect 1 or 2 to set them in motion.

On the gameplay front, your progress in uniting the galaxy is tracked through War Assets, which basically amounts to a green progress bar that shows the galaxy’s readiness to face the Reapers. Every aspect of the game charts back to War Assets, from planet scanning (yes, it returns, and no, it isn’t much better), to completing primary objectives and side missions. The higher your War Assets total, the better your army will fight against the Reapers in the final push. This could certainly be a divisive mechanic as it basically distills your actions into a progress bar, but the game does a good enough job of showing your impact on the galaxy throughout the story that it’s easy to not be bothered by your War Assets count (although it should be noted that your War Assets total affects the ending you’ll get).

Mass Effect has been shuffling further away from its RPG roots as the series has grown, and it’s clear that Mass Effect 3 is intended to be a third-person shooter first and an RPG second. To that end, the cover system has been tweaked again, and while it’s still not perfect—it’s too sticky in some areas, too imprecise in others—it’s not problematic enough to diminish the game’s tactical edge in combat.

A nice addition to combat is a chargeable melee super-attack. It is appropriately empowering, even though it’s easy to miss if your enemy simply slides to the side. Beyond that, most of the combat mechanics are carried over from Mass Effect 2, a decision that’s hard to fault considering how well the game plays. Biotic and tech powers are still a breeze to use, and the ability to set up hot keys for your squadmates’ powers makes executing devastating combos simple. Moreover, your squadmates’ AI is vastly improved, allowing them to move across the battlefield more freely and use powers liberally. Combine all of this with intense set piece battles and a wide enemy variety and you’ve got the best gameplay the series has seen so far.

RPG elements aren’t entirely discarded, thanks to a heavy focus on customizing your Shepard and your crew. You’ll still pick a class which determines the abilities you have access to, and those abilities can be leveled up as you progress. Branching power trees and the ability to adopt a squadmate’s power after you’ve built a relationship with them create additional variety. You’ll also find weapon mods that can be equipped at various workbenches and individual pieces of armor that you can mix and match on the Normandy between missions.

I also really enjoyed the way your power recharge time is tied to the amount of weapons you equip. It’s a simple mechanic: the more guns you equip Shepard with, the longer it will take his/her powers to recharge. But it creates interesting dilemmas when suiting up for missions. Would you rather be a shotgun and heavy assault rifle-toting battering ram, a biotic and tech specialist who relies on pistols as backup weapons, or a healthy mix of both?

I’ve glowingly praised Mass Effect 3 so far, but it’s certainly not without flaws. For one, planet scanning is still a chore because of the Reaper presence. As you scan a system for War Assets, a Reaper awareness bar fills quickly. Once the bar is full the Reapers flood the system, forcing you to flee lest you be captured and killed. It’s immensely frustrating trying to find the last asset to clear a system only to have the Reapers ward you off. And because the quality of your ending is tied to your War Assets, you’ll have no choice but to endure this painful mechanic if you want the “best” ending.

Side missions are also a bit of a drag. Whereas they were universe-expanding quests in the previous games, they’ve been reduced to “go here, scan this planet, recover this ruin, and bring it to blah-blah on the Citadel.” Even more distressing is the way you acquire most side missions: you simply overhear people talking about their problems on the Citadel, and then the fetch quest is added to your journal. Not only does this break immersion, it kind of makes Shepard seem like a creep.

I was also astounded at the number of graphical glitches that plague Mass Effect 3. Animations would sometimes turn wonky, characters would disappear entirely in conversation cutscenes, and some textures would take an uncomfortably long time to load. None of these gaffes are game breakers, but when Ashley’s head has turned completely around to look at Shepard mid-conversation, it’s hard not to be unsettled.

Mass Effect 3 marks the series’ first foray into multiplayer with the four-player Galaxy at War mode. Structured like any basic Horde mode, you and up to three other players defend against increasingly-tougher waves of enemies on a handful of maps. The real draw of multiplayer is the ability to create a full range of characters that differ in class, equipment, and species. Your character will level just like they would in single-player, and the ability to switch between characters between matches creates that “one more match, just to get a new level” feeling. Unfortunately, after a while the battles start to feel stale, and unless you’re trying to improve your War Assets in single-player (which is done by improving your Galactic Readiness percentage by playing multiplayer), there simply isn’t much incentive to keep playing. Galaxy at War isn’t a bad mode, nor does it affect the quality of the rest of the game; it’s just clear that Mass Effect 3 would have been fine without it.

But the thing I disliked most about Mass Effect 3 is that it means saying good bye to gaming’s first epic. BioWare has created a series that has amazed gamers everywhere by changing the perception that a video game can’t possibly have a rich, engrossing, powerful, and deeply impacting narrative–which makes it so difficult to watch it come to a close. But they’ve made sure that your last adventure in this trilogy would not be forgotten. Mass Effect 3 is a fantastic, tremendous, heart-warming and heart-wrenching conclusion that will absolutely stun you. It will go down as one of the medium’s greatest achievements and is, simply put, one of the greatest video games of all time.

Keep It or Trade It?: Final Fantasy XIII-2 (PS3)

If you enjoyed Final Fantasy XIII, you’re probably going to love Final Fantasy XIII-2. It seems like Square Enix took the fan feedback from the previous game and put some effort toward improving things players had issues with for the sequel. Though still not perfect, I think Final Fantasy XIII-2 is overall a better game than its predecessor, and it is definitely worth playing.

In Final Fantasy XIII, Lightning and her comrades fought together to save her sister Serah and the rest of the world. This time around, Serah is doing the rescuing. She is the only one who remembers her sister coming home after Cocoon was saved, and no one knows where Lightning really is. It turns out someone has been playing with time and creating paradoxes, and if they aren’t stopped soon, the world will be in trouble again. Enter Noel, a boy from the future. He arrives in New Bodhum with a message: Serah and Noel, along with a Moogle named Mog, must jump through time to correct the paradoxes and reach Lightning before it’s too late.

The story caught my interest, but it was the characters that made me care. Though I was initially skeptical of Serah as a lead, she turned out to be determined, upbeat, and surprisingly good in a fight. Noel is straightforward, confident, and a skilled hunter. He wants to protect Serah in their quest for the true timeline and a better future. Mog rounds out our time traveling trio with a healthy dose of Moogle comic relief. This greedy little guy is as handy as he is adorable, becoming Serah’s weapon in battle and helping you find hidden items while exploring. I also think Caius makes a great villain. He’s manipulative and has just the right dash of insane dedication to his goal to make him intimidating. These characters would be nothing but pretty faces without their voice actors, though. Liam O’Brien’s voice is part of what makes Caius so awesome. You might recognize him as Grimoire Weiss in Nier or Akihiko Sanada fromPersona 3. Serah and Noel both had great voice actors as well. Laura Bailey, who played Isara Gunther in Valkyria Chronicles and Lust from Fullmetal Alchemist, reprises her role as Serah, while Noel is voiced by Jason Marsden, who played Haku in Spirited Away.

After the story and characters suck you in, Final Fantasy XIII-2 manages to stay absorbing through interesting plot progression and good incentives to explore. Though the main story itself is still pretty linear, the time travel element mixes things up enough to keep you guessing about where and when you’ll end up next. It’s a great improvement from the playable movie progression of most of the previous game, and jumping through time and space is almost as cool as having an airship. As you make your way through the story, you’ll find yourself traveling to different locations in the past, present, and future to unravel paradoxes. In every chapter, you’ll have to find the right type of artefact to open the time gate you need to continue to the next part of the story. Sometimes, that artefact won’t be in your present location, meaning you’ll have to explore other places to find it. Many locations also have multiple time gates, which grant you access to branches of the timeline where a paradox caused things to happen differently. Correcting the timeline forms new branches and brings you closer to defeating your enemy. It is also possible to unlock alternate endings to the story. These “paradox endings” are the result of making different choices at critical points in the game or beating more difficult versions of certain bosses. Uncovering paradox endings and completing sidequests will award you with fragments, and once you collect them all, you can view an extra cutscene after the credits. The chance to unlock alternate endings post-game was a fun way to extend gameplay beyond the final boss battle and provided a great incentive to hunt down every fragment.

One other nice thing about the story is that it’s relatively newcomer friendly. Playing Final Fantasy XIII first would give you more complete knowledge of the story, but it isn’t necessary to enjoy the sequel. The plot elements that are most important to this game are explained well enough, and if you really want to know what happened in the previous game, all of the analects are available as a “Beginner’s Primer” from the game’s start-up menu.

After you’ve gone through your first time portal, you’ll start off in the Historia Crux whenever you launch the game and continue from a save file. From here, you can see all the nodes and branches in the timeline and select the place you want to visit next. If you prefer, you can view them in one big circle instead. I stuck with the default layout of the Historia Crux because I enjoyed having the whole timeline spread out before me. Though I liked that visual, it wasn’t the most pleasant selection menu to use once I’d unlocked a large number of locations on different branches. You don’t have to visit every node to reach the end of the story, but you’ll probably want to do so anyway. When you travel to a brand new area, you’ll spawn in front of its time portal, but thankfully that only has to happen the first time you arrive. You can leave for the Historia Crux from literally anywhere in the location you’re visiting, and you’ll start off from that spot whenever you decide to return. One of the best parts about this is that even if you’re on a chocobo when you leave, you’ll still be riding it when you come back. The Historia Crux also allows you to rewind the clock and replay events from any part of the game. Throughout your adventures, you can find gate seals for every node in the timeline. Once you have an area’s gate seal, you can lock it off from the rest of the timeline and challenge history’s possibilities by making new choices. Each new location provides sidequests, challenging enemies, and opportunities to get new materials.

Though there is some weapon crafting through the item shop, those materials will help you most when it comes to fighting. The basics of battle remain the same: create paradigms for your party based on the available classes, and control the party leader yourself. The biggest change is that your third party member is a monster. Early in the game, Serah discovers that she can capture creatures in battle and use them to fight for her. Winning battles will reward you with materials that you can use to level up your monsters. Some creatures will grow stronger than others, so you’ll probably want to explore new areas to catch better ones and make your party more effective.

Serah and Noel level through the Crystarium as well, but they still use Crystarium Points (CP). The only change in leveling your human characters is that there is one Crystarium per character rather than a separate one for each class. As you spend CP to unlock nodes, you’ll find that certain nodes will give you larger stat boosts. This means that there is actually an optimal way to level to get the highest possible stats for your characters. Unfortunately, this doesn’t really provide an incentive to plan out how you spend your CP on each class. I personally didn’t pay attention to it much, and I still ended up with characters that were more than strong enough to beat pretty much anything.

This actually ties in with one of the only real problems I had with Final Fantasy XIII-2: it didn’t really present much of a challenge. In fact, this is my only gripe about its predecessor that didn’t see a change for the better. In both games, if you bother to use your Crystarium points on a regular basis, your characters will be overleveled. I was diligent about upgrading my party, so most plot-related battles felt like a joke. I went into the final boss fight expecting something epic and difficult, but it ended more quickly than some random encounters. Although the Paradox Scope was supposed to make the boss fights harder, most of my replays were even easier because I maxed out my party’s stats by the time I got around to them. I don’t mean to say there aren’t any difficult battles in Final Fantasy XIII-2. Some of the creatures that you can fight post-game and in sidequests are actually really tough. I guess the lesson here is that if you want a real challenge in this game, you might have to explore a bit to find it.

The other major annoyance I had with this game was the Time Labyrinth. In order to correct the timeline, you must sometimes travel inside of paradox-inducing distortions. This takes you to a set of mostly pointless brain-teasing puzzles that you must solve to fix the distortion. The first type of puzzle is essentially a clunky version of Connect the Dots. A bunch of colored crystals are laid out on a grid, and you must run your character from one crystal to another that matches its color until you’ve completed a constellation. The only remotely challenging part of this minigame is timing. The crystals change color periodically, so you could be heading for a yellow one only to have it turn red right before you get there, forcing you to find another pair of crystals to connect. The next kind of puzzle requires a little more thought. There are still crystals involved, but this time your goal is to collect them all and make it to the exit. The catch is that the last tile you were standing on disappears, making it impossible to backtrack. You have to actually observe the layout and choose your moves carefully to avoid being sent back to the beginning. Finally, we have the “Hands of Time” puzzle, in which you’re given a set of numbers around a clock face. When you select a number, each hand moves that amount of places from its current position, and the number you chose disappears. You must figure out the correct sequence of numbers to select that will clear the clock. I thought this one was nifty the first couple of times I encountered it, but when I reached a point where I had to solve three progressively more difficult versions in a row, I got really frustrated. No matter how good or bad these puzzles are, they seem tacked on and irrelevant. At least the puzzles in Final Fantasy X‘s Chamber of the Fayth made sense. It was reasonable that the summoner would have to go through some kind of trial to reach the Fayth. Here, it seems like the developers just wanted to throw in puzzles to give the game some variety, but they didn’t think about contextualizing them at all.

Thankfully, there is one unquestionably fun minigame in Final Fantasy XIII-2: chocobo racing. Chocobos are among the creatures you can capture in battle, and there are even a couple of special ones hidden around that Mog can help you find. Train up your favorite chocobo in the Crystarium and take it to the casino. You can win gil and items in the races, and it’s fun watching your chocobo breeze past the competition.

Even if you don’t like the battle system and think the new minigames are contrived, there is one thing you can’t fault this game for: graphics. Like its predecessor, Final Fantasy XIII-2 has some of the most gorgeous landscapes of any game I’ve ever seen. The in-game visuals are almost as pretty to look at as the cutscenes, and the amount of detail in everything from characters to creatures to buildings is incredible. The soundtrack was good too, though I missed Final Fantasy XIII‘s battle music. Unfortunately, the only place you can hear that particular piece for most of the game is on the slot machine in the casino.

Again, fans of Final Fantasy XIII will not be disappointed with its sequel. Final Fantasy XIII-2kept some things that worked and changed some things that didn’t, mostly for the better. I don’t know if I can recommend Final Fantasy XIII-2 to people who hated the previous one, but I do know that I loved it and feel that it deserves a chance.

Memang di awal tahun baru seperti 2012 ini banyak sekali pembahasan atau berita yang baru, ya misalnya saja Daftar Film Terbaru entah itu dari Film Hollywood Terbaru maupun berita terbaru lainnya yang turut meramaikan nuansa tahun baru ini. Namun pada kesempatan kali ini saya mau share sedikit mengenai daftar Game Terbaru 2012, game kan selalu menjadi topik yang enak untuk dibicarakan, baik di dunia nyata maupun dari informasi-informasi game terbaru yang kita peroleh dari dunia maya. maklum games kan nggak seperti kata kata gombal gitu.

Saya pribadi juga suka dengan game, namun untuk urusan update games terbaru paling malas deh. Lebih suka games yang klasik seperti WE 2008, padahal kan ini sudah 2012. hehe..Jadi ya berhubung sudah tahun baruan, kesempatan yang bagus untuk merombak semua list game saya dan ganti dengan Game Terbaru 2012.
