Google, one of the best search engines has included a new good tool into their search results, where people can search through any authority site with a special dedicated search box located within the search results just below the site links of the 1st result.
And till my observation, i could see this feature for some of the big profile searches like YouTube, Dmoz, Microsoft etc. one of which can be seen here for Microsoft.
This feature looks really cool and makes it easy for people to search through any big sites to search their products etc.

Now you can travel back in time — for example, I am looking at the globe of 1790. Hi Visitors,

We have a site developed in asp, hosted on IIS server. We got an option to rewrite and redirect the dynamic urls to static url's using a 404 page?

I read some where that rewriting and redirecting the dynamic pages to static pages using 404 will be treated as duplicate content as both the urls are existing on the site?

Is rewriting and redirecting the pages using 404 SEO friendly?

Kindly provide SEO friendly methods for the same.
