South Beach Hotel Overview.

South Beach Hotel was built in 1939 by reknowed architect Henry Hohauser and completely renovated in a contemporary style that provide all the conveniences required by todays modern travelers. The hotel. features 51 rooms and suites, with an exterior fountain courtyard, where guest can relax and sunbathe.

The South Beach Hotel is very accomodating to golfers. I have stayed on the property on 3 diffferent occassions and each holiday has been a pleasant experience. Stewart and his staff will do anything in their power to ensure your experience is a pleasant one and the memories of socializing with the Scottish people on the front lawn of the South Beach into the early hours of the next morning are memories forever embeded in my mind.

Mum and I had a lovely four night break at this great little hotel, right from the moment we arrived the staff went out of their way to be helpful. The food is excellent, we got a great deal booking direct for dinner bed and breakfast (the breakfast was great as well, the usual cereals, porrige and fruit juices, the cooked breakfast was freshly made and very tasty.

The room was not a bad size, maybe needing updated a little but was very comfortable and charming, everywhere in the hotel is spotless clean, as was the ensuite, which had a bath with shower overhead, toilet and washbasin.But I think what makes this hotel so special is the service, the staff are so friendly and go out of their way to make sure your stay is enjoyable.The location is also perfect, walking distance to the shops, golf course and just cross the road to the beach.Well done the South Beach, we will be returning!

Visited the South Beach Hotel near a friend's wedding on the weekend of June 29-July 1. Great little hotel, complete with dining area and its own pub. Hotel is right across from the beach and just outside of Troon's business area. A 10-minute walk by the beach gets you there.Being the reserved place to stay for wedding guests, all of the rooms were booked up.

Most of the suites had a beach-facing view, however ours was off to the side and faced the neighbor's garden. Not the best, but there are some advantages - when the sun comes up at 4am in the summer, it isn't shining in your window!We were in room #236 and it was a bit of a maze to get there. However, it was private and had a large bathroom and plenty of room for us to dump all of our gear.Staff was okay - it seemed like they were tolerating our large group. After three separate tries, I still didn't get anyone to being me an iron for my dress shirt before the wedding. So, note that the staff could be a little more helpful.Everything else was fine - clean rooms and a fun location. However, for the price, you may want to try the Piersland House just down the street until this hotel's service cranks it up a notch.Thus, good but not great.
