Hello people! Its been a long time since I made a post on Early Tollywood. Anyways I am about to start a series of posts about copied stuff in various language movies dominantly in Telugu movies. I tried to post this stuff in a separate blog but I thought Early Tollywood reaches a wide audience so that this stuff can be reached to larger group of people.

This post is about the copied scenes from Kotha Bangaru Lokam, a 2008 Telugu movie directed by "Srikanth Adivi" and produced by "Dil Raju" starring "Varun Sandesh" and "Swetha Basu".

This particular scene which involved "Rao Ramesh" acting as a lecturer has been greatly inspired from a very renowned hollywood movie "Dead Poets Society" starring "Robin Williams" and directed by "Peter Weir". The following video shows the original scenes from Dead Poets Society from which the scenes are copied to Kotha Bangaru Lokam

Naga Chaitanya Tamannah Flick Gets a Title : I Am No. 1

There were reports that young hero Naga Chaitanya’s ongoing film under the direction of Sukumar had been titled I Love You Mahalakshmi. But the latest buzz is that I am No. 1 is the title under consideration for this film.

This love story set in the backdrop of campus life is produced by Bunny Vasu under the banner of Geetha Arts. Tamannaah is the heroine. Devi Sri Prasad has composed the music. The film is currently in post-production and will be released this summer.

Actress Samantha is an Indian film actress, who marked her name in Telugu and Tamil film industry. She was born on April 28th, 1987 and is a charming beauty tantalizing the whole Tollywood presently. Samantha started her acting career, with modeling and then peeped into some film offers, which came in her way. Although, Tamil film projects, knocked her doorstep first, it was in a Telugu film “Ye Maya Chesave” (YMC) she was introduced as an actress on the silver screen. Film Career

Samantha started her actress innings, in telugu through Indira Productions “ Ye Maya Chesave” which was a telugu film directed by talented and romantic director Gautham Vasudev Menon. The same film was made simultaneously, in Tamil as well and was titled as “Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya”. The music for this movie was composed by double Oscar awards winner AR. Rehman and so the movie proved to be a romantic musical hit.

Samantha was signed for the first Telugu film in August 2009 and participated actively in all the shooting schedules of the movie, which were scheduled in India and United States. In the month of February 2010, “Ye Maya Chesave” released and brought fame and value to actress Samantha in Tollywood.

Samantha played the character of Jesse in this film, who is a working professional and is elder to the male lead. A family enters into her house as tenants and the male lead is the character named Karthik. He falls in love with Samantha at the first sight, but is hesitant to disclose his love to his beloved. Akkineni Naga Chaitanya plays the lead role of Karthik in this film and this is second film in his acting career. Karthik falls in love with Jesse (Samantha) and somehow discloses the same to her. But she is hesitant due to the age factor and also for other reasons initially. But, she falls in love with the hero, after his much persuasion and then romance starts in between them. The movie revolved around the hero and the female lead and so Samantha has a long length of reel to her credit and justified it, through her naturalistic acting.

Actress Samantha was the scene stealer in the movie “Ye Maya Chesave” and soon gathered a lot of fan following. Even the film critics supported her naturalistic acting and so, she became an “in demand” heroine of Tollywood. Samantha was also seen in the Tamil version of “ Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya” in a cameo role and shared screen space with Tamil actor Simbhu and Trisha.

Factually, Samantha bagged a film offer, in the month of August 2007 and that was in a Tamil film titled as “Moscowin Kaveri” which was a Ravi Varman’s film. She played the character of Yashodha in the film and soon, after seeing her ad films, Raman decided to increase the length of her character in “Moscowin Kaveri”.

Ravi went to the extent of comparing Samantha with actress Revathi, who is equipped with intelligence and extreme acting potentials. But due to various reasons, this movie is a pending project and is expected to release in the year 2010.

Unfortunately, Samantha’s second film in Tamil Pookada Ravi which started in the year 2008 was also stalled for various reasons. The third film of Samantha is another romantic drama titled as “ Baana Kaathadi” and is likely to hit screens in mid 2010. Samantha will play the character of a student from National institute of fashion technology” in this film and her character of a NBIFT student is said to be taken from a real life incident.

Despite signing up for three Tamil films in quick succession, Samantha's first release was Indira Productions' Gautham Menon directed romance film, Ye Maaya Chesave. The film, a simultaneous remake of the Tamil film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, created much anticipation prior to release, primarily due to the first-time-collaboration between Menon and composer A. R. Rahman. The actress was signed up for the project in mid August 2009 and completed schedules across India and the United States for the film which released in February 2010. The film portrays Samantha as the lead character of Jessie, which was also the working title of the film; a Malayali Christian girl living in Hyderabad, whom the male protagonist, played by Naga Chaitanya falls in love with. Upon release, Samantha received very positive reviews for her portrayal, with the film also garnering much critical acclaim. Critics at Sify claimed that Samantha was the "scene-stealer" and her beauty "is alluring" adding that "she was the girl to watch out for". Jeevi, from the Idlebrain reviews site, cited that "Samantha’s debut is one of the best heroine debuts in Telugu cinema" and that her "minute expressions she gave spoke volumes about her", whilst labelling the film as a "classic". Samantha, alongside her co-star, Naga Chaitanya, also appeared in a guest appearance in the Tamil version of the film. Both films emerged as grand successes whilst becoming trendsetters in Tamil and Telugu respectively, propelling Samantha to sign bigger projects. She followed up her collaborations with Gautham Menon and A. R. Rahman by appearing in the music video for the World Classical Tamil Conference 2010 promotional song, Semmozhiyaana Tamizh Mozhiyaam, which Menon directed and Rahman composed.

Samantha went onto feature in Vamsi Paidipally's Brindaavanam in which she had a supporting role alongside NTR Jr and Kajal Aggarwal. Her role of Indu was well received despite being shorter in screen time than her previous roles and the film became her second successful Telugu film. She is currently filming for Dookudu with Mahesh Babu and S. S. Rajamouli's live action project Eega.

Samantha has a long way to go in Tollywood as her name is being chanted by almost five heroes of Tollywood, who desire to act with her out of them actor Prabhas, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan are in the race, to act with. Samantha is said to be a broad minded girl and has no calms kissing her co-stars on the silver screen, if the script and the director demand. She has already cleared the air that Bikini stunts are not her cup of tea and will never do, even though she is offered extra bucks. Samantha, as said above, wants to stick to her ethics and does not want her family and friends feel embarrassed, through any sesame acts of her in films.

Allu Arjun aka Bunny engaged to a Hyderabadi girl named Sneha Reddy today (November 26). It is said that the engagement ceremony would be held at the bride's house.

According to reports, the function will be attended by close relatives and friends of the couple. Allu has said that the ceremony would be a low-key affair as they did not find a suitable venue and engagement date was fixed in a hurry. Sources say that Allu Arjun and Sneha Reddy's wedding will be held in February 2011.

Sneha Reddy is the daughter of educationist and businessman Sankar Reddy. She has completed MS in Computer Science from a reputed US university.

Known more for his reel-life love stories, Young actor Allu Arjun fell in love in real life too. The buzz in the industry circles is that he is getting ready to tie the knot with K. Sneha Reddy, daughter of one KC Shekhar Reddy, who is the chairman of Scient Institute of Technology, Ibrahimpatnam. Allu Arjun and Sneha Reddy have been reportedly seeing each other for a while. Sneha Reddy has done her BTech and is currently doing her MS in the US. Allu Arjun's father Allu Aravind too confirmed the news on Friday saying that talks are on between the two families but it is too early to say anything now. RGV's Desire of DORA - The Lord with Chiranjeevi

Ramgopal Varma is one man who knows how to make news and keep making it again and again. He now says that he wants to work with Megastar Chiranjeevi. He expressed his desire through his twitter account. Ramu wrote, “I know he won't work with me because of what happened in the past. But I am so dying to do a film called 'Dora`-The Lord with Megastar Chiranjeevi.”

Quite a few years ago Ramu had announced a film with Chiranjeevi starring Urmila Matondkar and Tabu. There were few big names attached to it as well. However, it is not known why the project was shelved. Ramu had mentioned about this incident on his blog, but choose not to state exact reasons over shelving the project.

It was heard that Chiranjeevi was disappointed with RGV. However, Chiranjeevi has made some of his old foes as his friends, and has been trying to prove that Telugu film industry is united. If he likes the script, there should be no way the Mega Star will say a no to the director who worked many times with the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Mohan Lal etc.

There are also people who say that Ramu’s statement comes at a time when he had to cut few scenes from Rakta Charitra. Ramu can do anything for publicity, and this statement of wanting to work with Chiru could be just a stunt to generate some positive interest in his film!

So yesterday our government of Andhra Pradesh has released the list of winners of Nandi Awards for the year 2009. Let me present you the list first and express my views next.

Let us remind of popular movies of 2009 from our industry.

Amaravathi, Anjaneyulu, Arya 2, Baanam, Bendu Appa Rao RMP, Billa, Bumper Offer, Ek Niranjan, Gopi Gopika Godavari, Josh, Kick, Koncham Istham Koncham Kastam, Magadheera, Mahatma, Mitrudu, Oy, Prayanam, Sasirekha Parinayam, Sontha Ooru, Mesthri (Last two movies are listed because they got awards, no other reason) and Leader (Included)

Best Movies Category:

Sontha Ooru, Baanam and Kalavaramaye Madhilo.
I remember the press release of Sontha Ooru. They declared in the press meet itself that L B Sriram would get award. So, does it deserve best movie? I really doubt its credibility for the first place. And another joke is Kalavaramaye Madhilo!!! Hahaha!!
I feel Baanam to be in the top 3 movies of the last year. Baanam deserves a Nandi. And what about Prayanam, Mahatma and Leader?? I would seriously recommend the jury to watch these 3 movies again. If at all they want to encourage talent, please take some sensible decisions. Its like the jury want to satisfy people giving them some award but not the award they deserve.

Best Director:

The probable contestants can be Rajamouli, Sekhar Kammula, Chaitanya Dantuluri (Baanam). Its an obvious choice to pick Rajamouli for the effort he has put. Jury did not have a choice :P

Best Story Writer:

Again an obvious choice for the jury. As simple as that our movies lack serious stories. If you observe the movies excepting for Mahatma and Baanam no other movie has a proper serious content orientation. Sekhar really did a good job for Leader though there were hiccups at some places.

Best Debut Director:

Horrible!!! Please jury save telugu cinema. Have you watched Inkosaari? Its one of the horrible movies I have seen recently and you gave him best debut director. We had a new director named Vasu Varma who directed Josh which was a pretty decent movie.

Best Actor:

Hahahaha!!! Dasari... hahaha!!! peace out brothers. Hey Ramcharan dude dont worry you got the jury. What about Rana?? Atleast Srikanth??? I seriously think Allu Arjun deserves the award. So many of you might think of Arya 2 as Psycho movie. But the character played by Arjun is not so simple to enact and he did so well. Our industry needs time to accept that kind of movies.

Best Actress:

Teertha. Hmm.. So if a girl does a bold character, you call her a best actress. Wow I dont know this till now. Its ok atleast she did better than our so called heroines. Keep it up.

Sensible Choices:

Supporting Roles, Choreography, Art Direction , Special Effects, Editing, Costumes, Audiography, Make Up, Music Department, Dubbing Department, Screenplay Writers, Actor in negative role, Character Artist, Dialogue writer.

But I seriously bet on Baanam for Dialogues than Sontha ooru. Because sontha ooru is a concept with lengthy emotional dialogues which are very easy for our writers. Where as Baanam has crisp and to the point dialogues.

Best Lyric Writer:

I really dont understand if you write something controversial will you become best lyric writer?? I will abuse in a satirical way every movie member. So will you give me the award?
For the people who dont know Gandhi is, Sirivennela really gave some mind blowing lines. That is what Gandhi is all. He is not some person. He is a personality. I dont think what else jury members want??

Best Cinematography:

Amaravathi!!! Seriously!!!
What about Sarvesh Murari of Prayanam who did an excellent job. What about Senthil of Magadheera??

Best Action:

Come on guys... The last joke of the day... No Peter Heins who injured himself composing for Magadheera and who also composed the famous 100 men fight. I think this is an open joke giving Ram-Laxman and that too for some childish Ride.

And To satisfy everyone, the jury gave out special jury to Ram Charan, Srikanth, Genelia, Raghu Kunche, Raju Maharaju.

Enjoy Guys.... Awards dont define movies. Its the audience who decides what movies are. And we seriously need 1 good movie instead of 100 crap movies.

Recently there has been a comment why I did not write about Puli and they mentioned that I write favorable news to Chiru Family. LOL. I like all the stars who do good movies. If I have been so biased I would not have placed NTR and ANR on my top image. I respect all the actors. If I had been so biased to Chiru Family, you can see the reviews written by me, they are Prasthanam, Leader, Shambo Shiva Shambo. Are they related to Chiru family?

I just copy paste all the details from other websites. I am telling you that openly. I dont care about foolish and rubbish movies. If I feel a movie to be good I will write about them. If I had been biased I would have written Puli is a fantastic movie. GO watch in theaters and all.

But I did not do that because the reason is simple its so great a movie that I lost my senses in the theater and I felt like I bought a big hammer for 50 Rs( Ticket Cost) and beat on my head. I had a feeling of getting out of the theater the whole movie. And why should I waste my time writing review on such a rubbish movie. If you want me to write whatever I feel about everyone then I will do it.

I feel writing negative stuff does not help anybody. I am not a Great andhra or Andhra Vilas to write arbit stuff with arbit headlines. I am not any of them to write biased news. I am telling you I reject so many comments daily on my website. They have content which can trigger discussions like the other great websites do. But I dont encourage such things. I want my website to be a positive one.
