Update for Intel DG35Ec mother board users, Intel released new bios for DG35EC motherboard, Version 0117 (ECG3510M.86A.0117), if you are unsure about the current bios version of your board, here are the simple steps to know your Intel mother board bios version.

To identify your current BIOS version, just follow the below steps

1. During boot, enter the BIOS setup by pressing F2.
2. Check the Main menu.
3. The 4-digit number after the '86A' or ‘86I’ is the current BIOS version, as in this example:

4. Press Escape to exit BIOS Setup.

How to Install HP Printer Drivers In Windows 7 - Inbuilt Drivers

As windows 7 is on its way, HP might be busy developing the windows 7 compatible driver for their products.Windows 7 made easy with the inbuilt HP Drivers for some of the HP Printers.In this post i will guide on how to install Inbuilt HP printer Driver In Windows 7 operating system. The procedure of adding the printer is same as the one in xp and windows vista, follow me on how to do that in Windows 7.

Click Start--Devices And Printers

In the Devices And Printers Window, Click On Add Printer button at the top or just by right clicking and selecting Add Printer

In The Add Printer Pop Up Wizard, Select Add Local Printer and click on Next

In the Use an existing port drop-down list, select USB Virtual Printer Port (Printer Port) and then click Next.

Under Manufacturer List Select HP

From Printers List, check whether your printer is listed.
(If your printer is listed there are inbuilt drivers available for your printer in windows 7, if not you can try clicking on the windows update button to get more manufacturers and more printer models, or if you have a disc of your printer drivers you can use have disk option and point to that)

Click On Next

In the Printer name text box, type the printer name( leave the default printer name) and then click Next. The printer driver starts to install.

Click Next.

Click on the Print a Test page button and click Finish.

You are done, you have successfully installed the HP Printer in windows 7, The instakked printer will show in Devices and Printers Window as shown in the below Screen.

hpqgpc01.exe - Application Error While PC ShutDown

hpqgpc01.exe - Application Error : The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000005) occurred in the application at location 0x76bdbe16 you might face a similar error when shutting down your PC or turning off your laptop with windows vista 64-bit operating system installed.

You might get the hpqgpc01.exe - Application Error when the printer is turned off , many of the users including my colleague reported that there is no error when the printer is turned on.

The following is the workaround that is suggested by HP Support Forums Users to fix the issue, you can try your luck! I will keep you updated if hp releases a ptach or fix for the issue.

1) Insert Your Printer Driver Disc
2) Click Start-->Run
3) Type Control Printers and hit enter to bring the printers and faxes window
4) Right click on your HP Printer and click on properties
5) Click On sharing Tab
6) Click on Change Sharing Options. Click On Continue
7) Go To Drivers and click on additional drivers
For you information x64 represent 64 bit drivers and x86 is the 32 bit drivers
8) Keep the x64-bit alone and click on x86-bit
9) Close the program and restart the computer to get the changes effected.

Hopefully you should not have the error again,I tried this workaround and was not completely successful in eradication the error all the time, but restricted to few random times. Post your comments on this workaround using below comments section.

A Recent upgrade of my old Samsung 753s monitor to Dell 22 Inch S2209w Full HD Flat Wide Screen Monitor made me experience a new digital world. I thought of going for s2409w, due to space factor and cost I restricted myself to 22 inch.I was more excited to connect and experience the DVI interface of my Nvidia 8800gt card with the s2209 DVI Input, i was shocked with the sharpness and picture clarity of the new flat panel.

The easy to use front panel adjustments button(looks like touch buttons but not) are more convenient in addition to the screen adjustment and the amazing sleek design.The native resolution of this monitor is 1920x1080 Full HD, its amazing experience when watching a high definition movie or designing web applications.

The only thing that I am concerned about this monitor is about the HDMI, it would have been a perfect affordable monitor if it was a HDMI capable,in mycase i am not much worried about it, as my 8800gt has no hdmi but two DVI inputs, tio experience the dual monitor featue. No worries for VGA user, there is also a VGA input available at the back.

Create Quick Animated Waving Flag Using Photoshop Action

If you are reading this post you might be in need of customized animated waving flag or want to learn how to create animated flag.In order to design the below animated flag you must be familiar with basic things in photoshop, if you are a starter there are tons of tutorials about photoshop, the one's i recommend are the Good Tutorials and Pixel 2 Life, also Google about how to execute the photoshop actions that might help in following the below tutorial more easily.

Assuming you have a basic idea of Photoshop and Photoshop actions, here we go with the tutorial.Download the photoshop flag action Here and unzip the files.

Note: The Below screenshots of the tutorial are from Photoshop CS3

1) First Load Flag Photoshop Action(Animated Flag.ATN) file using the load action option in photoshop, check the below image to have a bigger view.

2) Open the flaganimation.psd , follow the instruction in the white box. to make it simple create a flag file with the following dimensions width 412 px and height 217 px

3) Drag the flag file(that you created) onto the white box as shown in the below screen and in the layers pallete, select the top most layer(that is you flag file layer, right click and click on merge down)

4) Now when you look at the layers pallete you will have single layer with layer name as Flag.

5) Now create a folder with name animflag in C drive of your computer and copy all the bump1 to bump13 psd files that you unzipped earlier

6) As you have the flag action loaded, just click on the arrow button just beside the name to expand.

7) Select the flapping flag and click on play button at the bottom of the action winndow as shown in the below screen.

8) Just Keep clicking continue for all the messages you get and click on play button again if you are stopped in between.

9) Finally you will have the message as "Now, go into Image Ready and create an animation by selecting "Make Frames From Layers" in the animation palette menu". when you look at the layers pallete you will have a total of 13 layer including the flag layer.

9) If you have cs2 clickon image ready button to switch to imageready for animation. If you are using photoshop cs3 then Click on Window at the top and click on Animation to get the animation window.

10) Click on the down arrow below the X button on the animation window and click on make frames from layers as shown in the below screen.

11) Now you are ready to have the waving flag animation , just click on the play button to preview the animated flag. adjust the timing between the frames as you need(0.05) is preferable and save the file as gif.

The patch also resolves an issue where a gray tint is seen in the background of documents scanned in grayscale (256 Gray Shades) from the ADF. These issues occur with HP Photo & Imaging Software 2.5 and HP Photosmart Software 9.0. These issues are not seen when scanning from the glass.

General Tip: Make Sure you scanner is always away from any magnetic materials.

got the issue fixed where the system does not function correctly in AHCI mode. Though there are three methods to update the intel motherboard bios, i recommend the express bios update.

HP CUE Device Discovery Service HPQDDSVC Hangs

HP CUE Device Discovery Service HPQDDSVC error pops up after starting windows and might cause your system to hang up. At times your Hp printer might also disappear from the printer folder in windows vista and also you can see a recurring installation of the hardware. I assume HPQDDSVC is the service to detect the hp devices and configure the detected devices to the HP Solution Center.

As a temporary workaround for HP CUE Device Discovery Service HPQDDSVC error, you can try disabling the service from the services window. Follow the below steps to disable the HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service HPQDDSVC service.

Click on Start--->Run(in case of vista type services.msc in search above the start)
Type Services.msc in Run
Windows Service will open
Find the HP CUE Device Discovery Service
Right-click on HP CUE Device Discovery Service and click Properties.
In the Next window
For Startup type select Disabled.
Click Apply then close the Window.
Restart your computer.

I will keep posted here if i find a better workaround or path to fix this particular issue.

If you are reading this post, you might be facing a similar issue like myself with Nvidia GeForce XFX 8800GT where the monitor goes blank and shuts off after loading the operating system or playing game for just 15 or even 5 minutes.

Before the monitor goes blank your mouse might hang up and become unresponsive, some time the BOD(blue screen of death).Thequcik specifications are NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB DDR3 PCI Express Graphics 2.0 Alpha Dog Edition.

Interesting thing to notice is that the CPU keeps running, the only way to see the activity on the monitor or screen is to restart/reboot the PC or power cycle. This post will be useful to troubleshoot and diagnose the issue whether it is a faulty XFX 8800gt or your cpu box.

Things that you need to check.

1)Try Updating your nvidia 8800gt graphic card drivers to the latest available version.
2)Try Changing the ram on your mother board to a different slots(if available), if possible replace with other ram
3)Check Your Monitor cables are tightly plugged and also check your monitor supports the frequecy of the display.(Today most of the displays are lcd and tft, that should not be a issue)
