Despite the ruling, we still need to hear from our regulator.”

Speaking on whether CBN will obey the Supreme Court’s judgement, he said the CBN reports to the President and that the President has decided on the issue.

He noted, “We all know what the President has said on the matter. The CBN takes its orders from the Presidency. I am sure any action by CBN would be a directive from the President.”

Another bank official, who works from Keystone Bank said, “We can’t do anything contrary to CBN. They will direct what next and probably from Monday we shall get more updates from our management when they meet on Monday.”

Another bank official who spoke on condition of anonymity said the old notes have not been made available to the bank.

He said, “We don’t have the old notes and we are not answerable to the Supreme Court. The CBN must send a circular before we can implement any directive.”

Another banker noted that the old notes are no longer in their possession, adding that if the CBN makes it available to banks, they will issue it to customers.

Thanks

Actor Kanayo Berates Reno Omokri For Mocking Peter Obi

Omokri had claimed that despite Peter Obi’s constant visits to churches, he could not get the national spread needed to win the presidential election.

Veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. This was even with three strong Muslims dividing the Islamic vote on the same ballot.

“Obi just demystified the Christian bloc vote. In fact, and unfortunately so, the #NigerianElections2023 turned out to be a census. Sadly (and we warned him), Peter Obi has exposed the population ratio between Muslims and Christians in Nigeria.

“The future political consequence of the revelation may be too heavy to bear! Oya, insult me. You want me to be telling you the type of baseless lies your itching ears want to hear.”

Reacting, Kanaya O Kanayo blasted Omokri, writing;

“After talking, let’s know when you are visiting Nigeria. We need about 70,000 danfos to replace them and the government doesn’t need to buy all of them.

“We can create a platform that’s selling seats on each of these buses and you can have ₦50k and you’re investing that, and every month the state pays you.

“With that, we’ve raised a pool of money that’s been able to help us buy all these buses and also create wealth for as many people as possible.”

On Saturday, the 39-year-old Rhodes-Vivour will be looking at unseating the incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Encouraged by the massive support Peter Obi enjoyed during the February 25 presidential election in Lagos in which he defeated APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu in his own backyard, the Labour Party guber candidate is looking at causing another major upset with the governorship election.

Thanks

I Almost Turned To Prostitution After My Dad’s Death – Actress, Omotola Jalade Reveals

The screen diva in an exclusive interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo opened up on losing her father at 12.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, the famous Nigerian actress, has made a new revelation about herself.

She revealed how her father’s death affected her in ways she could not imagine or handle.

The screen diva in an exclusive interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo opened up on losing her father at 12.

She explained they never had time to bond like father and daughter did because she was shipped off to Kaduna at a tender age. She said she barely knew her death before his demise.

According to the mother of four, having to deal with such reality at that young age almost broke her as she became emotionless, attributing her fearlessness and confidence to the ‘life-changing’ incident.

Foisted to cater for her brothers and protect them from persons who would want to separate them, the mother of four revealed she almost turned to prostitution to ensure no one succeeded in tearing them apart from each other.

She noted just when they were about to write examinations in JSS3 into senior secondary, they came to her in school, informing her that she needed to leave for home in Lagos.

Speaking about her dad’s passing and the effect on her, Omo Sexy as she fondly called stated: “I just started to see a crowd when I got to my street and I knew, definitely there’s been a death.

“So going through the crowd, the mental process till I got to my compound, and my compound was very big. And all these people, it was like a movie. I had to walk through their midst. And as you’re walking, everyone is turning to look at you, some wailing. Some looking in slow motion, I still remember the feeling.

“And I kept thinking, who’s going to greet me first? Who am I going to strike off the list? Then I saw my younger brothers. Then, I walked up the stairs and saw my mom. Then I froze because it now dawned on me that it was my dad.

“And so, I didn’t know how to react. I didn’t know if it was the guilt of me thinking it shouldn’t be him. I was too young to process it. Or the fact that I have truly missed him, and now that he’s dead; I won’t see him again? Or that I’m angry I didn’t get to spend enough time with him. He didn’t spend enough time with me because I was shipped to Kaduna. So, I didn’t know how I was feeling. And so, I was just there, numb. I was really numb.”

She added: “And now that I’m older, I think I understand it but then, I didn’t. So I just became emotionless and it has affected me till this day. There’s hardly anything you say that can move me. I am so confident of who I am that….’You no reach’.

“I mean, I’ve said it to presidents before who have invited me. ‘No, I don’t respect you’ because I don’t fear anybody.

“I know my dad was a very strong man. He died when I was twelve. And I think everything that I’ve been, positively or negatively was sore because of that, my father’s death. I don’t fear for my life to be honest.

“I think I probably would have become a prostitute today because I was that desperate. I got to a point and I said to myself, ‘I’d rather sell my body than for anyone to take my younger brothers apart’.”

Thanks

My Most Embarrassing Moment – Rapper, Olamide Opens Up

The incident, he explained, happened many years ago when he was still under his one-time boss, ID Cabasa.

Olamide, the popular indigenous rapper has talked about a really embarrassing moment.

The rapper shared an incident that left him utterly pissed and embarrassed at the same time.

The incident, he explained, happened many years ago when he was still under his one-time boss, ID Cabasa.

Recounting the embarrassing moment, Baddo said: “I was in the studio when this senior artiste came in to record a song, and he said he was hungry. He should not use a trick to steal my money.

“I almost got angry, but one look from ID Cabasa calmed me down. Hence no excuse can be justifiably adduced for the very obvious lapses witnessed so far in our elections since 1999 till date.

“There were series of assurances and reassurances by INEC towards the much anticipated election most especially as it relates to the deployment and use of Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) as well as the INEC Result Viewing Portal in the general elections.

“The failure of INEC to keep to her promise of immediate transmission of polling unit results after several allegations were levelled against INEC on her alleged intentions to undermine the outcome of the process but as usual, the commission in such circumstance would posit a strong stance as exemplified with her press release made on Friday, November 11, 2022 in response to the allegation on the plot to abandon the transmission of polling unit results to IReV portal.

“Deductions from INEC responses and statements and comparing them with the reality on ground, it is fair to say that INEC has proved to be opposite of what they promised Nigerians.

“It also revealed the fact that INEC primarily was not in charge of its technological affairs which made it impossible to transmit electronically on the day of the election or perhaps, there was unexplained lapses that the commission is yet to explain to the Nigerian voting population who reposed so much confidence in her ability to deliver, true, credible, free and fair election.

“We hereby agree with various national and international stakeholders that the just concluded elections lack transparency and failed to achieve minimum standards of electoral credibility.

“We join many Nigerians and stakeholders to condemn the conduct of the just concluded presidential and National Assembly Elections as it lacks credibility and merits by all standards and therefore calls for its cancellation and rescheduling. Nigerians have invested so much in this election that they deserve a credible outcome.”

Thanks

Be Wary Of Those Fanning Embers Of Tribal Hatred – Mr Macaroni

Mr Macaroni expressed sadness that some people were sharing inciting contents against tribes.

Debo Adebayo, the famous Nigerian social critic and skit maker, who is better known as Mr Macaroni, has advised Lagos residents to be wary of those fanning the embers of tribal hatred, ahead of the Saturday gubernatorial election.

Mr Macaroni expressed sadness that some people were sharing inciting contents against tribes.

His statement is contained in a post via his verified Twitter handle.

He said people should not allow those pursuing their own interests cause hate among Nigerians.

“It’s sad to see people sharing inciting contents against tribes. Onyeka, has directed the Divisional Police officer, ‘A’ Division and other officers to visit the victim at the hospital to know his condition and make arrangements for payment of his medical bills,”

The Command assured members of the public that the Commissioner of Police is a responsible cop who does his job with the fear of God and therefore, will not tolerate any form of misconduct by any officer of his Command irrespective of rank.

“As part of wholesome practice in the Force, the erring officer has been defaulted and his orderly room trial will commence March 6, 2023,” the statement added.

The CP also assured that the disciplinary process would not be compromised and the outcome of the proceeding would be made public.

He urged members of the public to remain calm and continue to be law abiding as the command is doing all within it power to protect the lives and property of all Plateau residents.

Thanks

APC Campaign: “We’ll Defend Tinubu’s Mandate By Every Means Necessary”

APC Campaign: “We’ll Defend Tinubu’s Mandate By Every Means Necessary”

The agro commodities directorate in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council says it will defend the victory of Bola Tinubu by “every means necessary”.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Tinubu as the winner of the presidential election after securing 8,794,726 votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who got 6,984,520, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) who polled 6,101,533.

Atiku and Obi have filed petitions at the presidential election tribunal challenging the victory of Tinubu.
Addressing a press conference in Abuja on Saturday, Bello Abubakar, head of the directorate, said Tinubu won because of his “proven records” as governor.

“Let us be clear, the president and vice president-elect have the nation’s mandate. The mandate is a trust to them based on their proven records in Lagos and Borno states and their excellent administrative prowess over the years as well as sustained nationalism,” Abubakar said.

“We urged those that are not satisfied with the result of the election, to use the court as provided by the constitution and be peaceful doing so. Violence pays nobody. Let it be on record that as the largest voting Bloc in Nigeria, we are standing by the mandate of H.E Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and we will defend it by every means necessary.”

Also speaking, Shehu Muazu, a member of the PCC and national coordinator for the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria, said the federal government should compensate farmers for losses incurred due to the naira policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
“We have a president-elect, who is yet to be in office,” Muazu said.

“However, the directorate wants to call on the president His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari – now that the supreme court has spoken and we all know the consequences of that hardship, we are not saying anybody should be punished, we should be forgiving as we have been directed by our principal.

“However, we call on the federal government of today to put in place policies that will help to alleviate the losses incurred by farmers.”

Source:- The Cable

Thanks

Peter Obi Won 19 States, FCT In iREV Portal Collation” – Obidients

Peter Obi Won 19 States, FCT In iREV Portal Collation” – Obidients

Obidient Twitter user, NEFERTITI, CLAIMS:

My People, it’s no longer news that Peter Obi defeated Tinubu with wide margin. This is the Results obtained from IReV Portal:

PDP: 8 States.
APC: 7 States.
NNPP: 2 States.
LP: 19 States + FCT + 25% in 2/3.

Peter Obi MUST be declared the winner & some people must go to jail!

Having said that, I now come before you in supplication, I spread myself on the floor pleading for your attention! To sustain what we started, we need to take at least 12 government houses, including their state assemblies. The importance of this move cannot be overemphasized.

To have a fighting chance at fixing Nigeria, we must come out en masse this Saturday, & finish what we started! The journey is far from over. In the absence of functional LGAs, governors & state assemblies are the closest to the Grassroots. This is why Saturday is so important.

We must send the Labour Party to as many government houses & state assemblies. WE CAN DO THIS! For instance, GRV & Alex Oti are waxing strong in Lagos & Abia States. We must make sure they get into those seats. Peter Obi can only function when the sub-nationals are behind him.

That said, Festus Keyamo like many bigots & crooks, lost his polling unit. Only in Nigeria that those who amount to Zero attack those who are Everything. Again, like Keyamo, APC faithfuls are now going through the stage of denial, trying to find logic in an illogical situation.

Bola Tinubu did not win that election, & it’s undeniable. Nigerians won’t legitimize an illegitimacy. We won’t trade one dictatorship for another. I am not sure what is going through their dark minds right now. But I’m damn sure that things are definitely hazy & foggy.

Results up there on the iREV Portal shows clearly that Peter Obi won the election. But INEC announced a completely different results. So we shall meet in court, the judiciary is now on trial. Critical to our emancipation & survival is the sustenance of our “Obidient Movement.”

While Peter Obi & the Labour Party fight to recover our stolen mandate at the courts, we must keep the fire burning. We must continue to shake Nigeria to the ground. We ain’t done yet. I understand that we almost lost our fire last week, after INEC pulled that.

expensive heist by announcing Tinubu as the placeholder. But they can’t put out the fire in us, we are tougher than them. We are built for the worst, we are an army of tough cookies. Lagos is critical to what we intend to achieve. At the core of our Obidient Movement is Lagos.

Lagos is where it all started. It’s been our HQ, the rallying point for our cry so close to home. What started as #EndSARS Peaceful Struggle will now be decided on Saturday. It is at the slopes overlooking the Atlantic Ocean that we will lock horns in a fratricidal battle.

Brothers against sisters, wives against husbands. In the end, Lagos & Nigeria will be better for it. We need to flip at least 12 states, & LP must occupy 12 governorship houses & its state assemblies (at the very least). What we do is serious business, if Japa must slow down,

if the youths must get involved & have substantial seats at the table, then Labour Party must put up a big show on Saturday. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour must be supported with everything we gat, & by all means necessary. We must be out en masse on Saturday, & finish what we started

We need Delta, Benue, Enugu, Abia, Ebonyi, Kaduna, Nasarawa, Plateau, Borno, Rivers, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Gombe, etc. We must put up a superb show in almost all the states. This is so important. Saturday is the moment of truth. Everything we’ve done since June is for this.

The party without a structure, 4 people tweeting in a room, & twitter warriors without PVCs, have come a long way. 6 Senators & 34 Reps is no fluke. WE DID IT, against every odd, we shook Nigeria to its foundation! Pat yourselves on the back, we all are Captain Fantastics!

With high risk comes high reward. What we achieved is massive. It’s like falling off the balcony from the penthouse floor, & surviving the fall. But we ain’t where we are supposed to be, at least not yet. Our individual liberties must be restored. Our dignity must be rise.

When people are tired of their voices not being heard? resistance is the result. Our rage is all we have. Not of any type of violence, but anger burning & boiling from the inside. Nigeria has never been good to us. She goes into town crushing all the good people in its wake.

Nigeria offers you misery or death, choose, it matters not to Nigeria! For those who can afford it, Japa is escape. The sheer fear & chaos is staggering. Fearful & not sure of tomorrow & what might happen to us, we keep pushing, hoping that someday, our efforts will pay off.

Like in all wars, some men die, others count their losses, Nigeria is a statistics that keeps giving. The cross movement of deaths is staggering. Many were butchered in the most chaotic & brutal insane manner. Our hope is that someday, our struggles will defeat the brutality.

Nigeria is a prison, it was built to keep people in. Escape is almost a forlorn hope. The wardens are the PDAPC, both houses has oppressed & killed more Nigerians, more than the Vietnam War. Nigeria is a wreckage underwater. She won’t give up her secrets until Obidients win!

We are the few goods ones left, the last of the good ones. We are the best of Nigeria, the finest of the finest. At some point, Nigeria is going to recognize & congratulate us. We are the last defense against Evil, darkness many Nigerians don’t even know exist.

Nigeria is the jungle, everything gets eating. A menagerie of wild beats, eat or be eaten. She became a place where the one-eyed man is king. In the midst of the chaos & confusion, a new breed of youths rose from the ashes. Like every Generation, mine was born for a purpose.

Good or bad, my Generation of Nigerians are Nigeria’s finest. It’s deeds not words, good name is better than Gold. All we’ve done since 20.10.2020 is pushback, against an oppression that won’t go away. The once Giant of Africa is alive but it’s choking, NIGERIA IS CHANGING!!

From the banks of River Niger, to the plains of River Benue, down to Mambilla & Jos Plateau, A New Political Force has risen. Soro Soke Camaraderie is here, Joy is here, courage is here. Our long-lost voices is here. HOPE is alive, Nigeria is sparklin with all things Obidient

A Dream covered in Gold, & said to posses an almost magical powers that will change Nigeria for good. A man, not a Saint has inspired our new found joy. What was thought impossible, is now possible. It is like we are going down a chamber of undulating connected labyrinths,

& having a bird’s- eye view of Nigeria at the same time; a 360 degrees panorama. Our effervescence shines bright, illuminating all of the colors of the rainbow. Obidients are people who stood up to the bullies. Our ideology is incongruence with everything the PDAPC represent.

We stand for freedom & civil liberties. In the rapturous applause of the crowd, Obidients have become the undisputed champions of Nigeria. We will usher in a New Pride; a country where everyone will be proud to be called A Nigerian. 2023 Elections is a marathon not a race.

Ready your PVCs for Saturday, let’s finish what we started. I urge you Nigerians, don’t give up the fight! Posterity is with you! The World is with you! All the heavens hear you! And when Peter Obi, GRV & Labour Party candidates are finally on their saddle,

our pent-up euphoria will erupt like a volcano. From that moment on, patriotism will be our anthem, the mood of all Nigeria.

It is time for me to Rise! It is time for you to Rise!! It is time for all of us to Rise!! Nigeria is mine, she’s yours! TAKE IT BACK!!

Thanks

Obey Supreme Court Judgment On Naira Now, Legal Giants Tell Buhari

Obey Supreme Court Judgment On Naira Now, Legal Giants Tell Buhari

Some Nigerian senior lawyers have senbt a meeagw to the Federal Government.

The lawyers yesterday urged the Federal Government and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to comply with the Supreme Court judgment of last Friday.

They warned that not obeying the order would amount to contempt of court and further cast the government and officials as showing disregard for the rule of law.

The Supreme Court held that the old naira notes would remain valid until December 31 and that the old N200, N500 and N1,000 will co-exist with the new ones.

Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) Seyi Sowemimo, Babatunde Fashanu, Chino Obiagwu, Kunle Adegoke, Wahab Shittu and Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa said the judgment must be complied with.

According to Sowemimo, the Federal Government and CBN were bound to obey the judgment.

He said: “I don’t think any of them – the CBN or Federal Government – has a choice in the matter.

“They were represented in court and the Supreme Court has given a final decision.

“The Supreme Court is the highest court in the land and that being so, that is the final decision.

“If they want to observe the rule of law, then they have no choice but to comply with the decision.”

He dismissed the claim by the Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami (SAN) that he could not advise the CBN on monetary policy.

Sowemimo believes Malami was duty-bound to advise the government to comply with the judgment.

He said: “The Attorney-General himself ought to know that he does not have a choice but to advise the Federal Government to comply with the decision of the Supreme Court.

“It’s a clear-cut decision. There shouldn’t be any argument about it.

“It’s too late to say it is an economic policy and you cannot advise on it; it is the legal aspect of it that went to court concerning whether they were within their rights to impose or implement that sort of policy without the necessary consultations.

“The Supreme Court has said no, they acted unlawfully.

“The AGF does not have much of a choice in the matter anymore; his duty is to advise the government to comply.”

Fashanu said it was the duty of the AGF to advise the Federal Government to obey the Supreme Court judgment.

“When the Supreme Court gives an order, it must be obeyed by the parties it is directed against.

“It is a dereliction of duty for the AGF to be talking of monetary policy when the Supreme Court has laid down what is to be done.

“This is a tendency towards anarchy and it is unfortunate,” the SAN said.

Obiagwu expressed similar views, noting that the Supreme Court “is a policy court.”

“It has given a decision that is a policy that went beyond the law. Nobody has a right to pick and choose which judgment of the Supreme Court to obey or not to obey,” the SAN said.

He warned that the Attorney-General and CBN officials could face sanctions for failing to comply.

Obiagwu said: “Once the apex court has made that decision, the CBN must comply. If it doesn’t, it can be cited for contempt.

“The Attorney-General has no right to pick and choose or to advise the government on which judgment of the Supreme Court to obey or not.

“It’s the final judgement; they don’t have any right to disobey it.

“If they do, there are consequences and we at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) are ready to make sure that any executive recklessness is brought to justice.

“Remember that the Supreme Court reprimanded the Federal Government for disobeying its interim orders. Justice Emmanuel Agim clearly stated that this was unacceptable in a democracy.

“If the Federal Government goes ahead to restrict the old notes contrary to the judgment of the Supreme Court, there will be consequences, including on the AGF, because we have historical records of AGFs being cited for contempt.”

Adegoke reiterated that the Federal Government was bound to comply with the order.

He said: “On the new naira note issue, the Supreme Court, the final court in the land, has given its decision.

“It is obligatory on all institutions, the presidency, the office of the AGF, the CBN, to obey the decision of the Supreme Court. That is not only the final court, it is the highest court from which there is no appeal.

“The Supreme Court, having given its decision, is now mandatory in line with the constitution for all institutions to implement the decision to the letter.

“There is no option for anyone of them to say it is even deliberating on it. The next thing is to implement it.

“The old naira notes, together with the new naira notes, have to co-exist till 31st December 2023 in line with the decision.

“That would give sufficient time to the CBN to be able to issue sufficient new naira notes to be in circulation to replace the old notes.

“There is no option about the decision of the Supreme Court. There is no choice to choose whether to obey or not to obey.”

Shittu said anyone who disobeys the order should be cited for contempt.

The SAN said: “The Supreme Court is the ‘uncommanded commander’. Once it sneezes, the country catches a cold. Once it makes a pronouncement, it takes immediate effect.

“The order of the Supreme Court does not require any other authority, including CBN’s directive, for immediate compliance.

“Anyone standing in the way of the implementation of Supreme Court order should be immediately arrested, cited for contempt and taken to prison.”

Adegboruwa described the judgment as “a courageous confirmation of the sanctity of the rule of law and due process”.

He added: “It is a soothing relief from the hardship that Nigerians have been subjected to, over the past few weeks, on account of this rather thoughtless policy.

“The court should always be the platform for the resolution of all disputes by all aggrieved persons.

“I salute the sagacity and courage of the justices of the Supreme Court for rising up to rescue Nigerians from the pangs of death, frustration and looming economic recession.

“As there is no room for further appeal against the judgment of the Supreme Court, I urge the President to immediately direct the CBN to comply fully with the judgment of the Supreme Court, as stated under Section 287(1) of the Constitution and allow all the N200, N500 and N1000 old notes to be circulating along with the naira new notes till December 23, 2023.

“Across all our land, there will joy in many homes, businesses will bounce back and Nigerians will find cause to celebrate their freedom from all forms of dictatorship and arbitrariness.”

Also, a senior lawyer, Dr Fassy Yusuf, said there was the need for President Buhari to obey the judgment.

To him, the President’s silence was worrisome, adding: “Were it to be the other way, they would have expeditiously hailed the judgment.”

He disagreed with Malami’s claim of being unable to advise on monetary policies.

He said: “The unusual silence of the Presidency and the AGF to the judgment on the ill-conceived and callously executed currency ‘colourisation’ is worrisome and befuddling.

“The outgoing administration should be prepared for a titanic battle with the third arm of government, especially from the NBA.

“President Buhari should know that arbitrariness is not part of democracy. His government cannot decide the judgment it would obey.”

Dr Yusuf urged those close to the corridors of power to advise President Buhari to give immediate effect to the landmark judgment to prevent anarchy from taking over the land.

Thanks

<thr:total Labour Party.., we don’t want Peter Mbah.. we don’t want Peter Mbah.

The rejection of his candidacy by the Catholic faithfuls today points to a landslide victory of Chijioke Jonathan Edeoga who has continued to enjoy the support of the churches and Ndi Enugu in general at the grassroots level.

<iframe loading="lazy" title="Enugu PDP Governorship Candidate Peter Mbah Chased Out By Obidients In Church Today" width="500" height="281" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/xpfXIhp5yhc?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer;
