Hello again! How's your day? I hope your having a good time because the weather is kinda crazy these past few days. While we're experiencing an incredible, unbearable heat of summer for the past few weeks, yesterday, it rained. It rained so hard like crazy. Luckily, we were inside the mall at that time and I'm having my haircut (click here). What a better way to beat that summer heat by having some Froyo!

Froyos became a big hit this past few seasons because it's healthy (yogurt, fresh fruits) it's refreshing and it's fun to prepare! I had my first Froyo experience at Tutti Frutti yesterday. Take a look!

After I got my haircut, we decided not to go home yet because it's still raining. It will be hard for us because we're going to commute and I'm with my baby. So my niece and I searched for a place to chill out while we wait for the rain to stop. We passed by the store a while ago and I told her I want to try the it. So we got in!

It was kinda funny because we were both first timers and we don't know what to do. We walked inside and passed by those Froyo-making machines 'til we reached the spot where the cups were placed. Haha! We got the smallest one (I think) for both of us and choose what flavor to have. Irish got Death by Chocolate and mine was Avocado. Next was the Toppings. I had Mallows and Caramel coating while Irish got Chocolate coating and Mallows too! I added some Blueberries and she got Strawberries. I also had some Hershey's Kisses and Irish too and she also got Reese's Butter Cups(oh how I wish I had some too. Hmp!). And after that, we weighed in our Froyos. It was Php 20/oz. Mine was Php 125.20 while Irish's is Php 120 (exactly 6oz lol)

Time for eating! I tried Irish's Froyo and it was AWESOME! I wish I chose it instead of Avocado. But Avocado taste great too! I just love Chocolates! I gave the Kisses to my daughter and of course she liked it! I think she was still energized even though we have been there for hours already! And she was dancing when she heard the song 'Teach Me How to Dougie' played.

I'm definitely going back there for more! Haha! Gonna try their Original Tart and of course Death by Chocolate! There are other options too and most of them are fruits. And there are lots of toppings available at the counter such as, fresh mangoes, longgan, red beans, and the berries! There are crispies and cereals too! And I think it is pretty affordable because what we got for around Php 120 is already a lot! Gonna try some other Froyo shops as well. And the bubble/pearl milk tea craze everywhere.

Have you tried eating Froyo? Any suggestions for some great Froyo place or bubble/milk tea shops?

Yesterday, I was able to find some time to have a haircut (finally!) because it was holiday. I was with my daughter and niece Irish and we headed to SM San Lazaro. When we got there we walked around for a while because I'm still undecided to where will I have my haircut. We saw the David's Salon on the lower ground but there were a lot of people waiting in line so we decided to have some lunch first at McDonald's. While we were eating, here's a pic of my hair when I haven't had my haircut yet. Lol

I have a thick, straight looong hair. I can't say it's healthy but I actually think it is! ;) But with the unbearable heat nowadays, I can't stand my long, think hair now. It's just too 'heavy' and it took me some time to clean when having a shower especially in the mornings when I'm always in a hurry. And when were done eating our lunch, we headed back to the salon and got in. When I told the receptionist that I want to have a haircut, she asked me who's stylist I want to have my haircut. It was actually my first time there so I don't have an idea. The receptionist noticed it and she asked if it was my first time, of course I said yes! Haha! She pointed out the list of the hairstylists and their rates. There were four of them. The highest rate is Php 340 while the lowest is Php 168. I chose the second to the highest, Ms. Wilma. Her rate was Php 250. Not bad at all. When I'm done with the picking, she asked me if I'm willing to wait because there were still three people on cue before me to have a haircut. I've nothing much to do and we already had our lunch so I said yes and we waited for my cue. A few minutes later, a guy approached me and told me I was next so he headed me to the wash area, washed my hair (of course, what else to do?Lol) and realized something because of that. That it has been years since I last had my haircut done at a salon. Lately, I always had my haircut at our house. So I kinda missed the washing of my hair. Haha! And so it was time for my haircut. Yay! I told the hairstylist that I want my hair to be layered but she asked me if I had it rebonded. I said yes but it was a year ago. She said it was not advisable for me to have it layered because my rebond is still there and if she cut it layered, the ends will flick out. Well I think that what she's trying to say. Haha! So she decided to have my hair trimmed. Yeah! She's the one who decides for my haircut, she's the stylist anyway. 3 inches was trimmed off my hair (as per my request). And here's the end result:

I know there's not much of a difference but for me, I feel so much lighter now! And on shower, it took me about less than a minute to have it cleaned. That means more time for sleep! Lol Anyway, onto the service that I had at David's Salon, it was quite nice. But I still want to try out other salons as well for my next haircut-trip. I want to try Azta Urban Salon (kinda odd because we didn't saw it yesterday at the mall) and Tony & Jackey (that we didn't also saw yesterday). And a few other service shops that we saw yesterday that I also wanna try out are Nail-A-Holics (there's a lot of ladies inside having some mani-pedi session) and Lay Bare (I told hubby I want to try Brazilian Wax and asked if he want to try too. Lol).

Hi there! How's your day going? It has been super hot these past few days here that sometimes I felt like I'm melting lol. But it's okay with me because at the other side of the world, other people are freezing to death while a lot of us here are enjoying the heat of the sun and having a wonderful vacation somewhere.

Anyway, I just want to share what and where I've been to these past weekend. :D

Met with my old friend and classmate Lieca at MoA. We originally planned to meet up with another classmate but sadly, she wasn't able to come so it was just the two of us plus her boyfriend. It has been such a really long time since we last saw each other (oh how I missed hanging out with them) and I was really glad to hang out with her again. Nothing has really changed with her. Just the old friend I used to have. :D

I haven't had my lunch when I got there so we decided to ate at Burger King (sorry no pic). Then later on, we thought of hanging at another place. We searched for a cool, relax and cozy spot to chill out and have some drinks but Starbucks and Seattle's Best were all jampacked! We don't want to sit outside with no aircon. Again, we roam around hoping to find another place. I suggested White Hat to have some froyo but the store at MoA was small and the tables and seats were outside. We dropped by at Häagen-Dazs but then something popped-up from Archie (Lieca's bf) and we hurried ourselves to get there. Finally, the long search is over lol. We all decided to chill out at Swensen's. :)

We had Iced Green Tea (mine), Chocolate Ice Cream Shake (Lieca) and Iced Choco Latte (Archie). The Iced Green Tea is okay for me. It's actually nice! It has a bitter taste (bcoz it's green tea) but I stirred it and the whipped cream helped for it to taste better (I guess). Haven't tried their drinks but Archie said his wasn't that nice.

Summer Getaway!

Long time no post! And it's already last week of April! How's your summer?

The heat is incredibly unbearable here in the Philippines and what's the best way to beat that? Swimming!!!
So last Holy Week (sorry, this has been a long overdue post as I've been busy with my work) we had a chance to go out of town. My sister decided to go to Batangas because she's the one that's in charge for the expenses together with another sister because it was her daughter's birthday last April 4. So we're like 'sabit' lol. I went over the net searching resorts for reservations but to no avail! They we're all fully booked for April 7-8. I can't find any resort with available rooms for those dates so we decided to just get there and find a resort that has available rooms for us to rent out. We left Manila at 4 am in the morning and got to Batangas at around 6am. No traffic! :D

At last, after inquiring from a couple of resorts we finally found a place to stay in. La Primavera Beach Resort located at Matabungkay Lian, Batangas. When we got there, the rooms that we're going to rent out are still occupied but the owner told us that they're about to leave so we just waited for it and sat down at some random tables there that are not occupied. The 'elders' prepared our things and cooked some food while the kids and kids at heart went out to swim while me together with my kids and hubby roam around to see the place. The resort has a pool (for adult and for kids) and the beach is really crowded. :/

The pool is not that huge but it's okay with me as I ~~don't know how to swim~~ am not going to swim that much either lol. The beach is okay too but as I've said it is crowded. Too much people! And there were also plenty of 'balsas' to be rented out. I think it costs around Php 5,000 for half(?) or whole(?) day but I'm not sure of exactly how much because a guy approached us offering their balsa but I'm not the one who talked to them. Anyway, back to the beach lol. As I've said it is so crowded I can't even swim. I'm afraid that I might get caught between those balsas or bang my head onto it while I swim or get tripped by the ropes underwater (for the balsa not to be drifted away from the shore) and get drowned. I can't even stay on the shoreline because of it but when I get passed through the areas where the balsas are 'parked' the water is already deep. So I just decided to stay in the pool.

Finally, the occupants in the room left and we moved in. We rented out three rooms (air-conditioned, two on the ground floor and one on the second) Each room on the ground floor can accommodate about 3-5pax while the room above can have 8-10pax but they lack mattresses. We stayed on the second floor. As the day went on, the weather is getting hotter and hotter but I can't jump into the pool because of the scorching heat of the sun that I might get burned easily. We stayed inside the rooms and chilled out with the air-condition.

But guess what? It blacked out! ~~WTF!~~ Wait! The resort blacked out? No. Just us. Just our rooms. Ugh! We immediately talked to the owner and she apologized for what happened. She said the linemen were fixing something that's why it blacked out and our rooms are connected to it while others have different connection. What else can we do about it? We slept. No, it was too hot inside the room to sleep. We swim, No, the sun is still shining oh so brightly! We ate. Yes, we ate. We got in and out of the resort just to get ourselves occupied and avoid dying because of boredom lol. We stayed at the tables that we occupied before we moved in to the rooms. We didn't had electricity for about 4 hours I kid you not! We got there to enjoy and relax and chill out and what we had is just stressful uber hot summer vacation.

Anyway, when the sun go down a bit we decided to have a swim. Yay! But to my dismay, I can't get my daughter to the water because she's scared! No choice but to get out of the water. :(

As the night rolled in, I've nothing much to do so I played with the kids. I told to them hug each other but whenever the camera captures the picture, they're already separated. We slept early because we're dead tired and don't want to swim anymore. Too bad I didn't because I missed this.

The next day, we thought we will never experience the same thing that happen yesterday but we're wrong. It blacked out again and the worst, the water line got messed up too. We again talked to the owner and asked what kind of service do they have we don't have water and electricity at the same time. The owner apologized for the inconvenience and said that the linemen we're fixing again the electrical lines and they we're just fixing something in the water line. Okay, but we told them we want a refund as we paid in full the moment we got in. We didn't ask for full refund as that would be inappropriate but just ask for what they can give back. Come afternoon and we're all ready to leave the resort and my sisters decided to head to Tagaytay! Good thing the resort owner give us back Php 2,000 and off then we go!

We took the route to Tagaytay by Aguinaldo Highway but hell! It was super traffic! We had about 3-4 hours drive just to get to Tagaytay! We stopped by at Colette's Buko Pie to get some 'pasalubongs' and proceeded to Picnic Grove. Plenty of people were there but thankfully we didn't had a problem with parking. I think there are tables for rent there but we didn't bother to do so. We just walked around to see the park and there was this main attraction (I think) the Tagaytay Zipline! For weekdays the rates are around Php 200-400 per head (sorry I forgot) and for weekends and holidays it was Php 400 per head and Php 600 if you want a souvenir. That includes 2 pictures and a mug with your picture on it.

These are not the souvenir pics because hubby haven't scanned it yet. Hubby asked me if I want to try it and I said why not? We don't know when we'll going back here so better try it now right? lol So we went to the ticket booth and talked if we want it with the souvenirs or not but the guy on the booth told us that he can give it to us for Php 1000! Pretty good deal! :D

No, I'm not biting the rope okay? lol It was an awesome experience getting hanged up there and while your ziplining on your side is the majestic view of Taal Lake. But honestly, I haven't notice it because I was damn scared and busy screaming my lungs out lol. After us were my sister and her daughter who is 4 years old, and my niece together with my sister's sister-in-law tried the zipline too! They got it for Php 1,800 with souvenirs. :/ I was like if we joined them with maybe we got a bigger discount? lol This part of the trip was what I enjoyed the most. Really!

At 6pm, we decided to leave the park and got home at around 9pm by the way of Sta. Rosa, Laguna. When we got home, we just ate some snack and prepare for bed and doze off.

Double Treat

Yesterday, March 23 was a very special to me and my family. It's my son's 3rd birthday and our 2nd wedding anniversary.

For my son's birthday, we decided not to throw a party anymore because we don't have much time to prepare for it and we don't have enough 'resources' for it too! lol So we opt to have some bonding moments with our little guy and we went to Malabon Zoo last Sunday. The last time I went there was when I was 4-5 years old. Can't believe it was so long ago.

I supposed he enjoyed the trip to the zoo because unlike the other kids that was there, he was not scared at all. He was rather willing to walk around to see the animals and I think he was fond of fishes (?) We got home early because his cousin was having his birthday celebration.

Yesterday is the actual birthday but we can't get home early because of work. I got out at 5pm so we just bought some food and ice cream and cake and had dinner at home. Hubby can't go home yet because he has some work to finish so we didn't wait for him anymore and ate already. lol We just waited for him but Johan is already sleepy so he got to bed and didn't wait for his Papa anymore.

When hubby got home I'm surprised that he got something for Johan. He didn't told me about it. He didn't told me that he was going to buy something for our son. Anyway, I'm glad that he did because I'm pretty sure and we're really sure that the kid will be happy about it because he love Cars (the movie) especially Mcqueen and Mater. I brought the toy into the kid's room and when I came back, that's when I was really surprised.

Hubby bought flowers to give me for our 2nd wedding anniversary. My heart skipped a bit! lol But seriously, I almost forgot about it. (sorry hon!) This was not really the first time he gave me flowers (it was second). The first one was for our 1st wedding anniversary and it was even not a bouquet but I appreciate it! Though we didn't have a grand celebration for the two occasions and we only had a simple celebration, I was really happy and I will cherish all the moments with my family. Little things are the sweetest!

p.s. I already got to taste Selecta Magnum yesterday (it was launched here only a few weeks ago and I was kinda late to try it). I didn't enjoy it that much! But I think its because I bought the chocolate truffle flavor and I wasn't able to try the other flavors yet so I just gave the other half to my niece Rhian. But I'm going to try the other flavors next time. :D

The Perks of Working in a Family Business

Hey there! Can't believe how days have past by so quickly that we're already on the 3rd month of the year! Summer is fast approaching ('cause we don't have spring here, though I wish we have ;D) and I'm looking forward for future summer vacations/trips of the family. Anyway, last March 1, I celebrated my first year of working in my sister's business. My work isn't a hard kind of work. No need for a talent for arts or whatsoever, it is indeed composed of confining in an office and Facebooking the whole day. lol Kidding aside, my work consists of keeping files and records of our projects and monitoring our status and answering occasional phone calls from clients. Okay! I'm gonna stop it right there 'cause I don't wanna bore you with it. Somehow, working in a family business have some perks in it. Here are some of them:

when you're working in a family business, there's a great chance that your co-workers are members of your family too
when you go to work, you see your co-workers. when you got home, there's your relatives. And your co-worker and relative is not two different persons
when you have a personal problem, your co-workers will always be aware of it and there's nothing you can do to hide it from them
when you're having some misunderstanding with your co-workers, you can't just forget about it when you got home because your co-workers is at home too, in the form of a relative. haha!
you can't get to see new faces everyday when you go to work
in addition to that, when your workplace is just a 10-minute drive from your home, you don't have a chance to see other places rather than your neighborhood and your village

On the contrary, there's always a good side in everything. Here it is:

when you have your sister as a boss, you can speak out your opinions to her easily because hey, she's your sister!
you can suggest/discuss some things to your boss even if there's no meeting going on and your just at home with them
you will not experience any hassle when you request for a loan or things like that when you badly need money because they will be the first one to know why you need it and there are actually times that you don't have to ask for it because they will help you willingly without hesitations
some bad and awkward moments can be easily forgotten because you have to act professionally when you get to work (no personal disputes allowed)
when your workplace is a 10-minute drive from your home, you will rarely experience hassle even when commuting, and a less chance of having a travel-misfortune: i.e. got your head/arm/leg stuck in a closing LRT door (gross!) or got stuck inside a train full of people and can't get out that cause you to be super late for work lol
in addition, you don't have to wake up super early and you'll have more time to sleep in the morning. yay!

I just want to clear things out, I am not in any way or another complaining about the nature of my work. I actually like it and have no intentions of leaving my position. I'm just stating facts based on my experience and my opinions about it. So this post is really just for fun. This is just for my first year at work and I'm looking forward for more years for me at this job (and a higher salary I hope :p) And I'm wishing that my sister's business will continue to grow and flourish and expand. For now, let's have a toast in the middle of a bright sunny and HOT afternoon! Cheers for the progress and higher compensation! LOL

Review: San San Long Wearing Mascara

Hi lovelies! I'm sorry I've been such a lazy bum these past few weeks. Haven't posted anything for a couple of weeks and now the month is about to end. Spring is coming! No, we don't have spring pala. Haha! Summer is coming! Anyway, without any relation to that, I'm review to post a review. :)

San San Long Wearing Mascara in 01 (black)

I bought this a couple of months ago at HBC when they were having a sale. I didn't use it right away the time I bought it, but nonetheless it has grown on me. Now, I use this everyday or when at times I want to wear makeup. (I such a lazy bum! ;D)

The packaging is a simple metallic blue tube and has a print on the cap that says 'age defense'. I'm quite confused about it because is this going to make me look younger? Can a mascara make someone look younger just by defending their lashes from aging and make them less wrinkly? lol

The wand is a regular kind of wand. In my opinion, it delivers what it has to do. It catches my lashes nicely, and picks up/deposits the mascara well on my lashes. But because of its size, (its quite huge) I experience some minor problems like having mascara on my lids because whenever I try to load the mascara to my lashes, it always reaches my eyelids. But other than that, I have no other problem with this. I think I just have to practice more. :)

Here's the swatch on a tissue paper. It's a regular black. like an everyday kind of black. (well, if there is such thing!lol)

Moving on, here's the mascara applied on my lashes. I'm sorry I haven't taken any picture of my lashes without the mascara on but I promise that my lashes are thin, regular-length and straight like a typical Asian lashes. :)

As you can see, it does a good job on holding up the curl on my lashes. And it really stays that way throughout the day or until I take it off at night when I'm going to wash my face. Really! It's not waterproof but it's not smudgy and it doesn't budge at all. So no panda eyes at the end of the day! It sometimes apply clumpy but nothing a practice can fix. :)

The only downside of this is the scent. It smells like an old makeup. Not like an old expired makeup but more like a grandma makeup (you get the idea) and I just hate it! Luckily, it goes away with a couple of hours.

Pros :

doesn't smudge, budge nor flake
holds up curls for such a long time
not clumpy
the packaging is simple and practical but looks cheap (the print is now fading)
the wand is useful and catches all of my lashes and does a pretty good job on applying mascara
incredibly affordable for Php 119.00-129.00 (not sure 'coz I got this for just Php 80.00 because of the sale)

Cons:

I think this only comes in two colors (black & brown)
and the scent! 'nuff said!

Overall, this is quite a good mascara. If you're looking for an everyday use mascara, nothing more nothing less, you can just get away with this. It delivers what a mascara use to do nicely and bonus that it's affordable too!

Is there anything you own that you think is cheap but you've been surprised that it does a pretty good job that you said it is indeed a steal? Do share!

Just wanna share something!

Hubby surprised me with this. He said he wants to give me spin pins but can't find one from the store near us but can't go farther because its turning dark. So instead of spin pins, he thought of buying this. I'm not a cake person, I'm more of the ice cream girl, but I really appreciated his gesture. Those little things really do a lot! Loveeet! 'love you hon! thanks for this!'

But on the other hand, I really love to have the spin pins! Haha!

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

I already mentioned on this post that I love reading but for some reason can't pursue that hobby or maybe because I don't know what book to buy. But at least, I've come up to this. And this one's on my list on what I'm looking forward to buy. I bought this last Saturday at National Bookstore for Php 299.00. I'm torn between this and The Hunger Games on what should I get because I only got Php 500.00 to spare. I decided to get this one and bought some fastfood for dinner from the change. :)

I'm almost halfway through it and I can say that it's AWESOME! Stieg Larsson is definitely a great story-teller! This is a must-read book. It's not your typical kind of fiction that the characters usually have superpowers/immortals and set on a non-existent place. I don't really hate those kinds of stories (I really love Harry Potter!) but I'm more on the fact-based kind of stories. I love those stories that can possible happen in real-life and set on a real place. Plus the main character is a girl! Talk about girl power! :)

ME!

Yes! It's my ~~21st~~ birthday today. Ugh! I'm old. lol Nothing much special today. I'm at the office right now (yes, I surf at the office) waiting for the food to arrive (from our house). My mother cooked it! Its the best! :D

We're going to have a small gathering with my co-workers here at the office. But I'm really hoping to have a celebration with my friends at the house on Saturday night!

And because of this day, there are some things that I realized:

birthdays doesn't matter anymore when you're old (or is it just me?lol)
your friends, especially those that are true will come out of nowhere just to greet you, even those that are 'not-so-true', and those that are friends on Facebook but not really in real life/person
I'm legally legal now so I'll get imprisoned if I commit a crime (but I still won't if I was a minor lol)
having two kids at this age is very overwhelming (I'm actually contemplating to not have a baby ~~anymore~~ anytime soon)
I still don't have a wisdom tooth, does that mean that I'm still a minor?
I'm through from the young adultery stage and now an adult (boo!)
live life to the fullest now because the world will end at Dec. 2012 (kidding!)

Hello there! It's already February! The Love Month and also my birthday month. Oh crap! I'm getting older. Anyway, as much as I wanted to, I didn't get to my promise to post regularly. :/ But hey, here I am now! With this review. Check it out!

Nyx Megashine Lipgloss in Beige

I've been hearing raves about these lipglosses online especially this particular shade! And so I've been dying to have one for the longest time (it's always out of stock/sold out) so when I had the opportunity, I grabbed it right away!

Shade: Beige - medium pink

Consistency: creamy

Texture: not sticky unlike other lipglosses but moisturizing, light on lips

Finish: opaque, glossy(without shimmer)

The wand is very useful. It picks just the right amount of the product but you can also control how much product you want.

Cons:

some shades tend to be similar and because of the wide selection, you may want to collect them all :)

Overall, this lipgloss is a very good quality for its price. Just like any other Nyx products/lippies. I love this shade that I've been using this every single day since I got it. I just wish Nyx will be available here in the Philippines.

I bought this bag last Saturday because the other bag that I've been using died on me. Haha! I used to have sling bags before as my default type of bag because obviously, it is very convenient. I can use both of hands and my things are still with me. But then again things do change. :p

I was at Robinson's Dept. Store w/ the Hubby last Saturday and we're on search for my new bag! (and a gift he bought for his now-goddaughter) At that time, there was a sale going on (ended last Sunday, sadly) and as I enter the store, I made a bee line to the bag section. I scoured through the racks of bags and found a couple but Hubby said they were not that interesting. I do trust Hubby because when it comes to shopping, he's very hard to please. (1) He doesn't buy an item if it's the last piece on display (2) He ~~scrutinize~~ inspects all the items he's going to buy all the time and (3) He gives the most honest opinion to me whenever I ask him. In addition to that, Hubby is very budget-conscious. Except for the kids, lol. So I continued my search for the 'perfect bag' and I saw this rack near the shoe section. It's for the discounted items. I rummage through it and found this! The moment I chanced upon this bag, I grabbed it right away! I saw some women looking at me and the bag I'm holding so I thought "I'm never gonna put this down, haha!!!". And so I inspected it if there's any damage or defects and thank God there's none. I checked the price and the regular price is Php 899.00 and there's no yellow tag, just a hand-written '400'. So I asked the SA if it's really discounted and she said yes it is! It's down to Php 400.00!! Scoreeeee!!!!!!

Pros:

roomy, big but light-weight
texture is soft and smooth, doesn't look cheap
color is very versatile, easy to pair with
i love the double zipped pockets inside
2 other pockets inside as well as cellphone holder
front and back zipped compartments
sturdy and structured
cute design
zipper closure
the price is still affordable even if not in sale

Cons:

dirt and stains are very obvious because of the color

Overall, this bag is definitely a steal! For its good quality and affordable price(even if not on sale) this bag is a must-have! Actually, I do think Secosana bags are very nice and good quality. From the day I bought this bag, I used it right away up to this very moment. I really love this because this is my very first bag purchase after I 've been influenced by those awesome fashion bloggers that I've been following. Those people really had a huge impact on me especially when it comes to shopping and fashion choices. Those fashion bloggers rock!!!

Nichido Lipliner in Blaze

Blaze - bright red

I love this color! I actually bought this to line my lips when I'm going to use my Nyx Snow White and the shade perfectly matches!

Pros

great pigmentation
creamy texture, glides smoothly
doesn't dry out my lips
available locally (drugstores, dept. stores)
cheap (Php 100.00)

Cons

not sure but I think there are only few shades available
have to sharpen it regularly
smells like pencil (lol, I know it will smell like that)

Overall, I think this one's ok! For its price, it is a good deal. I'm not expecting a great quality for a humdred-peso-item but this one passed up! Cheapie-but-goodie!

My First Nyx

Hello lovelies! One thing I forgot to include in my New Year's resolution I posted the other day here is that I promise to update if not daily, well at least regularly. With that being said, here's another post for everyone.

I know these items are already popular and reviews have been circulating over the net but I still want to share with you my very first Nyx products. Everybody's been raving about their lippies because of its great pigmentation, formulation, wide shade selection and of course the bargain price. What a good deal right? As far as I know, their blushes and eyeshadows are great too! But I opted to purchase lippies for my first time! And these are my picks.

Nyx Round Lipsticks

Narcissus - light pink with blue undertones

This shade doesn't complement my skintone very well. I looked like a ganguro with this :D I did try to apply it lightly and I think the result is better. I just don't like the fact that it sinks on my lip lines and made it more obvious. Eew!

Snow White - bright red with brown undertones

This shade is so bold! Its the perfect shade for that bold red lip that celebrities are wearing. I love this!

I blotted it with a white paper(not tissue paper) and I like this better than the other one. ;)

Pros

highly pigmented
creamy, glides on smoothly
not drying though not really moisturizing
shade matches color on the tube
shade encapsulated at the bottom makes it easier for storage
wide shade selection
cheap bargain price (I bought these for Php 150.00ea)

Cons

not available locally
flimsy packaging
makes you wanna collect them all (like pokemon) which may cause you end up having more lipstick than you can use and shades that are almost the same

Overall, these lippies are good steal! Such a good quality for a bargain price and wide selection. I'm looking forward for my next Nyx purchase. I'm eyeing those blushes, lip creams, single/palette eyeshadows and moreeeeee lippies!!!!!!

2012 New Year's Resolution

Happy New Year everyone! I hope we all had a blast celebrating the new year. :) 2011 passed by so quickly and as 2012 came along, I wanna share with you guys my New Year's resolution.

1. Save, spend wisely

I want to start this year right. I want to save not just for myself, but most importantly for our kids. I'm not getting any younger. Though we maybe just starting out with our jobs, I want to start as early as possible. Earning minimum wage and supporting two kids may be a challenge but then again nothing's impossible.

2. Spend more time with my family

The kids are growing up so fast. I missed the days when they were so little I'm afraid to hold them tight. Now, they're so active, naughty and restless sometimes I wanna put them back to where they came from. lol

3. Reunite with my friends

I missed hanging out with my friends. Being married and having my own family prohibits me from going out and hang out with my friends. Well, it is my choice to be with my family and I want to spend most of my time with them but sometimes I want to have a break and be with other people doing things that I'm not used to do on a daily basis.

4. Make new friends

As much as I wanted tor reunite with my old friends, I still want to have new ones. Maybe through this blog I can have some, right?

5. Focus

I noticed I had trouble being focused these past few years I don't know why? I'm searching for some ways to treat this because I knew I'm not like this before.

6. Read more books

I love reading. Anything! But I still can't pursue this hobby. These are just some of the books I want to read. :/

7. Upgrade my wardrobe

I personally think I'm through with the t-shirt-jeans phase. I'm turning 21 this year and I think this the right time to upgrade my wardrobe. I have so many fashion inspirations especially those fashion bloggers. Aarrghhh! :D

8. Live a healthy lifestyle

I'm not a health buff but it still important to have a well balanced diet. I'm also thinking of doing some exercise routines. More fruits and veggies, milk and breads to come this 2012! :)

Stick to our goals and be productive. Make this year unforgettable and most of all, let us all start this year right!

Three days to go! Yay! I'm not that excited anymore for Christmas as I've been before when I was a child. But, Christmas is still Christmas. Lots of food, gifts (now for my kids) and people greeting and giving gifts. Yesterday, I did post my (close-to-impossible) Christmas wishlist. And for today, here's the beauty edition of my wishlist.

1. UD Naked Palette (1 or 2)

I'm dying to have any of these two awesome palettes.

2. UD 15th Anniv. Palette

This palette is love. The colors are so pretty!

3. Bobbi Brown Champagne Quartz Eye Quad

This palette is so compact and versatile. The shades flatters just about any skin tone.

4. Nars Blush & Bronzer Duo

We all do know that this palette is a holy grail. 'Nuff said.

5. Fairy Drops Mascara

It's pink, it's kawaii, it's Japanese, it's effective. I've heard good reviews about this one. The only downside is it isn't available here in the country. :/

Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm Review

It's one week before Christmas! How many of you already had their Christmas parties? Me, not yet. *hehe* Anyway, here's the other half of my Maybelline haul that I promised to review. :)

Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm (anti-oxidant berry)

ingredients

I love the packaging. The super cute doodles and the color combination is so kawaii!

It is a clear type of balm and doesn't leave a tint on lips/hands

It does moisturize my lips well but it's not the hg type. I think I can find something more than this. The spf factor doesn't too. :) The only thing that bugs me is the scent. It does have a fruity berry scent on the tube, but when I apply it on my lips, it smells weird. But I can easily get use with it. :)

Maybelline Clear Smooth All In One Shine Free Foundation Review

Happy Holidays everyone! Seems like everybody's busy doing Christmas shopping huh? :) Anyway, remember my last post which is a Maybelline haul? Here's the part one of the review as promised. Check it out!

MNY Clear Smooth All In One Shine Free Foundation (02 nude beige)

This shade matches with my skintone, I think it can match light/medium skintone. And it leaves a matte finish. It has a light to medium coverage and the texture is smooth. Has a powdery scent that is not overpowering.

Don't mind the white cast, the powder easily blends and creates a nice smooth looking finish.

w/ powder and lip balm

My only complain about this is when I tried to apply my Ever Bilena lip&cheek tint, I had trouble blending it. So what I did is I apply my tint before the powder. Other than that, I had no problem about this product. It doesn't break me out and very affordable. The SPF 25 is a plus too!

p.s. I've also learned that the price Php 149.00 is the regular price of the refill so don't mind the sale thingy on the packaging. :)

p.p.s. I've also encountered some rant about this here so I'm going to share with you guys if mine will do the same, but for now it is still in good condition. :)
