March 2nd Tornado's show devastion to homes roofing, and siding in Crittenden Kentucky

We had a chance to view the most recent tornado and storm damage in Crittenden Kentucky (see photos below). Many homes were destroyed. The news reported that over 20 people were killed during this storm. I am sure many of these homeowners didn't know they were the target of such a killer and destructive tornado. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of this tragedy.

This subdivision is right off I-75 near Violet Rd. in Crittenden Kentucky. As we approached this neighborhood, we were in awe of the damage we were witnessing. Contractors and insurance adjusters were scattered through the neighborhood accessing damage and some roofing contractors were already starting to tear off and replace roofs.

We do offer shingles and siding with high impact ratings. Some of the homes in this neighborhood may have not experienced as much damage if a siding and or shingle had been installed with a high wind rating. Obviously the hardest hit homes, it would not have mattered what type of siding and shingles were installed, some of these homes will have to be completely rebuilt.

We were at a local Crittenden Mcdonald's for lunch, and we over heard some farmers talking about how they had lost everything in this storm. It was very sad to hear the conversation.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this storm that hit Crittenden Kentucky, Moscow Ohio and Eastern Indiana.

It's spring and critters are looking for a place to nest - sometimes it's your home!

We stopped out at a home in Hamilton Ohio last week that was a victim of pest invasion. The homeowner called us because he was getting squirrels in his attic.

As you can see in the picture to the right, there are large openings in the wood soffit and trim allowing entry of squirrels. As spring comes upon us, these openings are also an invitation for birds nests and raccoons.

The homeowner decided to have us install new vinyl soffit with aluminum wrap. Once we complete the job, the owners home should be free from pests entering the attic. We told the owner he may need to hire a critter company to remove any squirrels or unwanted pests that may get trapped in the attic.
