We wear caps during summer and the baseball season, bonnets for when the weather is a bit cold or winter. We also use jackets, umbrella, trench coat, and boots during rainy season. Why do we wear this stuff aside from just getting good looks?? It is to protect ourselves from certain illnesses.

During rainy season, I use a jacket that I got from some designer clothes to avoid getting flu. I also use boots to avoid getting Leptospirosis (a bacterial infection that is transmitted through direct contact with water, food, or soil containing urine from an infected animal.). Mind you that this disease is infectious. I also use an umbrella to avoid getting wet. What else could be the reason, eh? Just kidding, but seriously it also helps me protect me from getting any flu.

I use my cap whenever I want to go out, especially when the weather is hot. I hate it when my head is burned. The bonnet, on the other hand, is used for cold weather (Tropics) and winter season. During winter season, my cousin told me to use a bonnet that will cover my ears along with my ear plugs. You know why he said that? He said “so that my ears won’t come off”. Since then, I make sure that I wear my bonnet every time I visit them during the winter season. My cousin recommended me to get this Men’s cap hats coz it will come in handy. I thought it was a joke or something. But it turned out to be serious. This stuff are really handy!

Soft Drinks or Hard Drinks

Which would you prefer, soda or some hard drinks?? Those who want it better ditch it! Why? Here's why:

"Recent research has shown that artificial sweeteners in soda may interfere with your body’s ability to estimate how many calories you’ve ingested, so you eat more than you need. In a new rat study, animals that ate fake sugar consumed more calories overall and gained weight, compared to those that didn’t eat artificially sweetened treats. According to the researchers at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, the risk of becoming overweight can rise by 37 percent everytime you sip diet soda on a daily basis."

So who needs some soda? Everybody knows that soda contains a lot of sugar, and I mean A LOT! It doesn't even contain any nutrients. In short, it doesn't help us at all. If you want to stay healthy and live a long life, then you better stop drinking some pop.

Source: http://health.yahoo.com/experts/healthieryou/371/skip-the-diet-soda/

Earth Hour

Got this through Email, and I hope you guys will join.

On 29 March 2008 the Philippines will join countries around the world as we literally "turn the lights out" for Earth Hour - an event that will fuel awareness on climate change and prove that when the people of the world work together, they can make a difference in the fight against global warming. So I'm sharing this message from my e-mail through this blog..

This was forwarded to me. If you love drinking DIET coke, DIET pepsi, or DIET anything...please read this! Better safe than sorry...

People, take care of your health! In October of 2001, my sister started getting very sick. She had stomachspasms and she was having a hard time getting around. Walking was a majorchore. It took everything she had just to get out of bed; she was in somuch pain.

By March 2002, she had undergone several tissue and muscle biopsies andwas on 24 various prescription medications. The doctors could not determinewhat was wrong with her. She was in so much pain, and so sick.she just knewshe was dying.. She put her house, bank accounts, lifeinsurance, etc., inher oldest daughter's name, and made sure that her younger childrenwere to be taken care of.

She also wanted her last hooray, so she planned a trip to Florida(basically in a wheelchair) for March 22nd .

On March 19 I called her to ask how her most recent tests went, and shesaid they didn't find anything on the test, but they believe she had MS.

I recalled an article a friend of mine e-mailed to me and I asked my sisterif she drank diet soda? She told me that she did. As a matter of fact, shewas getting ready to crack one open that moment.I told her not to open it, and to stop drinking the diet soda!I e-mailed her the article m y friend, a lawyer, had sent.

My sister called me within 32 hours after our phone conversation and toldme she had stopped drinking the diet soda AND she could walk! The musclespasms went away. She said she didn't feel 100% but she sure felt a lotbetter. She told me she was going to her doctor with this article andwould call me when she got home.

Well, she called me, and said her doctor was amazed! He is going to callall of his MS patients to find out if they consumed artificial sweetenersof any kind.

In a nutshell, she was being poisoned by the Aspartame in the dietsoda...and literally dying a slow and miserable death. When she got to Florida March 22, all she had to take was one pill, andthat was a pill for the Aspartame poisoning! She is well on her way to acomplete recovery. And she is walking! No wheelchair!

This article saved her life. If it says 'SUGAR FREE' on the label; DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!I have spent several days lecturing at the WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL CONFERENCEon "ASPARTAME," marketed as 'NutraSweet,' 'Equal,' and 'Spoonful.' In the keynote address by the EPA, it was announced that in the UnitedStates in 2001 there is an epidemic of multiple sclerosis and systemiclupus.

It was difficult to determine exactly what toxin was causing this tobe rampant.I stood up and said that I was there to lecture on exactly that subject. I will explain why Aspartame is so dangerous: When the temperature of thissweetener exceeds 86 degrees F, the wood alcohol in ASPARTAME converts toformaldehyde and then to formic acid, which in turn causes metabolicacidosis. Formic acid is the poison found in the sting of fire ants. Themethanol toxicity mimics, among other conditions, multiple sclerosisand systemic lupus. Many people were being diagnosed in error.

Althoughmultiple sclerosis is not a death sentence, Methanol toxicity is!Systemic lupus has become almost as rampant as multiple sclerosis, especially with Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi drinkers. The victim usually doesnot know that the Aspartame is the culprit. He or she continues its use; irritating the lupus to such a degree that it may become a life-threateningcondition.

We have seen patients with systemic lupus become asymptotic, once taken offdiet sodas. In cases of those diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, most of the symptomsdisappear. We've seen many cases where vision loss returned and hearingloss improved markedly. This also applies to cases of tinnitus and fibromyalgia.During a lecture, I said, "If you are using ASPARTAME (NutraSwe et,Equal,Splenda,Stevia, Spoonful, etc) and you suffer from fibromyalgiasymptoms, spasms, shooting, pains, numbness in your legs, cramps, vertigo, dizziness, headaches, tinnitus, joint pain, unexplainable depression, anxiety attacks, slurred speech, blurred vision, or memory loss youprobably have ASPARTAME poisoning!"

People were jumping up during the lecture saying, "I have some of thesesymptoms. Is it reversible?"Yes! Yes! Yes! STOP drinking diet sodas and be alert for Aspartame on foodlabels! Many products are fortified with it! This is a serious problem.Dr. Espart (one of my speakers) remarked that so many people seem to besymptomatic for MS and during his recent visit to a hospice, a nursestated that six of her friends, who were heavy Diet Coke addicts, had allbeen diagnosed with MS.

This is beyond coincidence!Diet soda is NOT a diet product! It is a chemically altered, multipleSODIUM (salt) and ASPARTAME containing product that actually makes youcrave carbohydrates. It is far more likely to make you GAIN weight!

These products also contain formaldehyde, which stores in the fat cells, particularly in the hips and thighs. Formaldehyde is an absolute toxinand is used primarily to preserve "tissue specimens." Many products we useevery day contain this chemical but we SHOULD NOT store it IN our body!

Dr. H. J. Roberts stated in his lectures that once free of the "dietproducts" and with no significant increase in exercise; his patients lostan average of 19 pounds over a trial period. Aspartame is especially dangerous for diabetics. We found that some physicians, who believed that they had a patient withretinopathy, in fact, had symptoms caused by Aspartame. The Aspartame drives the bloodsugar out of control. Thus diabetics maysuffer acute memory loss due to the fact that aspartic acid andphenylalanine are NEUROTOXIC when taken without the other amino acidsnecessary for a good balance. Treating diabetes is all about BALANCE.

Especially with diabetics, the Aspartame passes the blood/brain barrier, it then deteriorates the neuronsof the brain; causing various levels of brain damage, seizures, depression, manic depression, panic attacks, uncontrollable anger and rage.Consumption of Aspartame causes these same symptoms in non-diabetics aswell.

Documentation and observation also reveal that thousands of childrendiagnosed with ADD and ADHD have had complete turnarounds in theirbehavior when these chemicals have been removed from their diet. So called"behavior modification prescription drugs" (Ritalin and others) are nolonger needed. Truth be told, they were never NEEDED in the firstplace! Most of these children were being "poisoned" on a daily basis withthe very foods that were "better for them than sugar."

It is also suspected that the Aspartame in thousands of pallets of dietCoke and diet Pepsi consumed by men and women fighting in the Gulf War, maybe partially to blame for the well-known Gulf War Syndrome. Dr. Roberts warns that it can cause birth defects, i.e. mental retardation, if taken at the time of conception and during early pregnancy.

Children are especially at risk for neurological disorders and should NEVER be given artificial sweeteners. There are many different case histories torelate of children suffering grand mal seizures and other neurologicaldisturbances talking about a plague of neurological diseases directlycaused by the use of this deadly poison.

"Herein lies the problem:There were Congressional Hearings when Aspartame was included 100different products and strong objection was made concerning its use. Sincethis initial hearing, there have been two subsequent hearings, and stillnothing has been done. The drug and chemical lobbies have very deeppockets.

Sadly, MONSANTO'S patent on Aspartame has EXPIRED!There are now over 5,000 products on the market that contain this deadlychemical and there will be thousands more introduced. Everybody wants a"piece of the Aspartame pie." I assure you that MONSANTO, the creator of Aspartame, knows how deadly it is. And isn't it ironic that MONSANTO funds, among others, the AmericanDiabetes Association, the American Dietetic Association and the Conferenceof the American College of Physicians?

This has been recently exposed in the New York Times. These [organizations] cannot criticize any additives or convey their linkto MONSANTO because they take money from the food industry and are requiredto endorse their products.

Senator Howard Metzenbaum wrote and presented a bill that would require label warnings on products containing Aspartame, especially regardingpregnant women, children and infants. The bill would also instituteindependent studies on the known dangers and the problems existing in thegeneral popu lation regarding seizures, changes in brain chemistry, neurological changes and behavioral symptoms.

The bill was killed. It is known that the powerful drug and chemical lobbies are responsible forthis, letting loose the hounds of disease and death on an unsuspecting anduninformed public. Well, you're Informed now! YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW!

Big Trades This Busy Season

Pau Gasol, Shaquille O'neal, Jason Kidd, and Ben Wallace are the huge names that found new homes in the NBA. The trade frenzy was triggered when Pau Gasol was traded to Lakers with a number of mediocre players. It's obvious that the Suns reacted to that trade by acquiring Shaquille O'neal for "The Matrix" Shawn Marion. Then Dallas signed Jason Kidd for Devin Harris and a couple more. Then right before the trading deadline ends, the Cavaliers pulled another huge trade by acquiring Ben Wallace, Wally Szczerbiak, and Delonte West for Larry Hughes, Donyell Marshall, and some other guys. Due to those huge trades, a so-so team instantly became a championship contender and a force to reckon with in the NBA, which makes everything a lot more exciting. I can't wait for the play-offs to begin.

Healthy Food!!

While browsing the internet, I decided to search for some healthy food that I will suggest my sister to cook this sunday. Drizzle over sliced tomatoes at serving time.

http://www.foodasfood.com/terrific-tomatoes/

Aikido Basic Holds (Attack)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQSwPj1BVLK3jLa_b5i4gJIy9ftbfjdVD6twMDxk2AkFncY5lorSTep6D3t3ywrSuNcJsraJf5yVmQ5qsxdifPqITOAqgpC3_YSEDAvREAx2-yhdcKrRathbznZ1-SUkF8aBCZwET2bqto/s320/o'sensei_pic.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5168967640569089282" />

Frontal

Katatetori Wrist grab

Kosatori Cross Hand grab hold

Ryotetori Two Hands grab on one hand

Morotetori Two Hands grabbing one

Katatori One Hand grab on shoulder

Ryokatatori Two Hands grab on shoulder

Munedori Grab to the abdomen area

Rear

Ushiro Tekubetori Wrist hold from behind

Ushiro Hijitori Elbow hold from behind

Ushiro Katatori Shoulder hold from behind

Ushiro Kubishime Strangle hold from behind

Ushiro Tori Arm hold or rear bear hug

Ushiro Morotetori Two hand on one hand grab from behind

Basic Blows

Shomen uchi Hand strike to the front of the head (Chop to the head)

Yokomen uchi Circular blow to the side of the head (Similar to a cross-punch)

Mune Tsuki Strike or thrust to the abdomen

Tsuki Punch or strike to the head, mid section, or groin area

Best All-Star Game EVER!!!

If ever you guys will agree with me, the best NBA All-Star game ever played was the 1992 All-Star game in Orlando, Florida. It was a very emotional game for everyone who played and for all the people who watched the game. That game was the return of the great Earvin "MAGIC" Johnson. People voted for him into this All Star game even though he didn't play a single minute during that season. Magic retired on 1991 due to the HIV virus he obtained.

People were cheering "Magic! Magic! Magic!" the moment his name was called. During the game itself, it was like vintage Magic Johnson. No-look pass, Behind the back, Bullet Pass betwenn two opponents, everything was simply magical. He even played 1-on-1 against Michael Jordan and Isiah Thomas. And guess what, Magic won!!! At the end of the game, Magic collected 25 points and 9 Assists leading the West squad to victory. He was named the MVP of that certain all star game. But he won, not only the MVP award, but also the hearts of all the people who witnessed that Magical Game.

I am correct, NBA.com also named that game the best ever All-Star game.

http://www.nba.com/features/allstar_memories_johnson.html

Free Concert!!!

Are you familiar with Moony?? Now the lakers will be a force to reckon with in the West.. Now, they are a championship caliber team, especially when Andrew Bynum comes back.. Bynum will play the Center, while Gasol will take the PF/C role, then Odom can slide down to the SF position.... It is like a Laker resurrection.. I smell a Celtic-Laker Championship.. Renew their rivalry after 20 years!! Go Lakers!!!

I think this will be the First five:
C- Bynum
PF- Gasol
SF- Odom
SG- Bryant
PG- Fisher

Plus a deep bench! I think we will be up against Cabaluna, our colleague that played for Ginebra.. He didn't became a star player back then, but still he played in the PBA and thats something.. Last year, my teammates said that he scored 76 points in one game at the Alumni league.. So I think we will be having our hands full with this guy on the hard-court... Hehehe.. Well, goodluck to us..

Tonight is our Christmas PArty!! Woohooo.. You think a European style outfit will work??? I think so.. hehe.. I am running out of ideas.. I hope I get it right tonight.. Good thing my uncle and aunt from Germany arrived two days ago. I think I should consult their expertise first.

Christmas Parteeyy!!!!

Whheeeeeee!!!! There we were, 5 of us against a complete team that are composed of 12 players. Only 4 of our star players did not play namely Al Magpayo, Michael Baldos, Victor Queyquep, and BJ Chiu. Good thing that One of our big man showed up, Martin Antonio. We played the whole game without any fresh legs to replace us. Meaning, there is no rest. We played our running game despite the depleted line up and won the game by only five points. Those five players all got double digits on the scoreboard. Though with a depleted line up, we got more fighting spirit compared to the opposing team. We outrebounded, outscored, and outran them the entire game. Take note, they are not that old compared to us. I guess, they became to relaxed thinking we will get tired easily. Hehehe.. Kudos for us!!!
