I am a Posh Ambassador II with over 1,600 completed sales, an under-one-day average ship time, and a long record of responsible selling. I chose Poshmark exclusively — over eBay and every other platform — because I believed in this community. I mentor other sellers. I send my blog readers here. I defended Poshmark when others left.

In early 2026 my account was suspended. Not for bad faith. Not for ignoring buyers. For a series of cancellations — every one documented, every one with buyer communication on record — under a policy that changed silently with no announcement, no email, no push notification. Sellers were restricted for rules they were never asked to acknowledge. I wrote formal letters to Poshmark leadership. I documented everything. And I kept selling because that is what sellers do.

I was suspended retroactively — cancellations that predated any communication of any kind were counted against me. Some sellers were penalized twice for the same cancellations. That is double jeopardy and it is fundamentally unfair.

🚫 What the Policy Is Now

After significant seller pushback, Poshmark clarified: seller-initiated cancellations are limited to 3% over a rolling 90-day period. Buyer-requested cancellations and bundle-related cancellations are excluded. That is a meaningful improvement over what sellers were actually experiencing.

However — returns. As far as I know, accepted returns still count identically to cancellations. Poshmark has not explicitly excluded them in official policy language. A buyer who changes their mind and opens a case can still affect your stats the same way a seller mistake does. That is backwards and it still needs to be fixed.

The system tracks percentages only. It does not evaluate intent or circumstances. A cancellation dashboard was promised — verify it is live before you assume you have visibility into your own rate. The only exception made for seller-initiated cancellations is verified fraud.

And sellers who cross-list on multiple platforms face an impossible situation: if an item sells elsewhere and you cancel on Poshmark, that is a seller-initiated cancellation. But if you remove the listing to prevent the sale, you may trigger the Excessive Listing Removal policy — which penalizes bulk delisting. Two policies. No clean path. 🤷

📋 The Inactive Listings Tool — Progress, Sort Of

Poshmark launched a new Inactive Listings Tool to help sellers identify and manage stale inventory. Good intent. But removing inactive listings still has to be done manually — one listing at a time — because bulk deletion is not allowed. Poshmark's own announcement said "We know you're busy." Then made you do it one by one. We are still in the stone ages on this. Watch the rollout carefully before deleting anything — the tool and the Excessive Listing Removal policy may not communicate cleanly at launch.

The 2-Day Clock and the 7-Day Window — Not the Same Number

Poshmark gives buyers 7 days to cancel if an item hasn't shipped. But your performance metrics are judged on a 2-day window. Ship after day 2 and you are dinged — even if the buyer is perfectly happy and the item arrives on time. After 7 days without shipping, the buyer can cancel — and that cancellation counts against your overall cancellation rate. These are not the same number. That distinction is important for every seller to understand.

The power move: ship Monday morning. Weekends and postal holidays are now excluded from ship time calculations — a change that came directly from seller pressure. First drop of the day Monday gets the fastest tracking update. Make it a habit.

✅ The 3-Day Window Works in Your Favor

Once your item is delivered, the buyer has exactly 72 hours to inspect and report a problem. After that, the sale auto-accepts and payment releases to you. No action required. Accurate photos, honest descriptions, and a freshened item go a long way toward ensuring those 72 hours pass quietly.

On descriptions: Do not oversell. If there is a tiny flaw, mention it. If there is a significant flaw, put it in the title AND the description. A buyer who knows what they're getting does not open a return case. A buyer who is surprised does. Honest listings protect your stats more than anything else.

📦 Ground Advantage Only — Know the Rules

As of September 2025, Poshmark uses USPS Ground Advantage only at $6.49 flat rate for packages up to 5 lbs. You cannot use Priority Mail boxes, Flat Rate boxes, or Regional Rate packaging — even though USPS gives them away free at the post office. Using them with a Ground Advantage label results in a $5 USPS penalty deducted from your earnings. Use plain unbranded boxes, poly mailers, or your own packaging.

Free Ground Advantage packaging — polymailers, padded envelopes, boxes, tape — can be ordered directly through the Poshmark app under your seller account. Today it is the high 90s HOT - far early for this time of year. Normallly we do not hit near 100 until May. That popped this article right into my mind as in the old days I updated it every year. This is a refreshed version of an article I wrote years ago when we lived in Buckeye — not isolated, just Arizona‑normal. Sonic was six miles away, the stores were eight to ten miles out, and Lowe’s was a 23‑mile commitment. In our part of the Valley of the Sun, that counted as “nearby.” Today we live even farther out.

The heat hasn’t changed one bit, though. It was relentless then and it’s relentless now, and our dogs still deserve every cool trick we can give them. The sad part is the tips stay the same — and now there are even more cooling gadgets on Amazon than there were twenty years ago. Our dogs have all long since passed, and somehow we’re just now deciding that we need to have a dog again — or else.

Desert Reality Check

Arizona heat isn’t “summer.” It’s a season of survival. These tips kept our dogs safe then — and they still work today.

Arizona heat doesn’t negotiate. Once we hit 111–116°, every living thing starts strategizing. Dogs don’t sweat like we do — they cool through their paws and belly — so they need help long before we feel uncomfortable.

Here are the same desert-tested tips we used for years, tightened up and modernized for today’s heat:

1) Keep a Pet First Aid Kit

Two thermometers — one for the house, one for the car. A dog’s temp is taken rectally. 104° = emergency cool-down. 106° = vet immediately. Print heatstroke instructions and keep them in the kit.

2) Never Leave a Dog in a Car

If you see a dog in a car, call the police. Minutes matter.

3) Build Shade or a Misted Area

A sheet over fencing, mesh panels, or a small kennel with shade cloth works. Add misters or sprinklers to drop temps several degrees. A portable swamp cooler helps in enclosed areas.

And let's be honest — the "improved copy tool" they're pairing this with has been around for over a year. It's only helpful at the very last step, when you're finalizing the copy and can see whether the listing is over 60 days old. Big deal. That doesn't help me when I can't delete a sold item or even mark it "Not for Sale" on Poshmark without risking suspension. Sellers are still walking on eggshells — pun absolutely intended — every time we try to clean up our closets.

AI can run the numbers. It cannot sit across from a nervous small business owner and explain what those numbers mean for their actual life. The human who translates AI output into plain-language decisions is worth more than the one who just ran the spreadsheet.

The reseller → curator and sourcer

Time of death: 7:05 PM.

This week has been a mix of everything — from trying to calm a full-body stress night (you can read that here: the cocoa night that actually worked) to standing in the driveway watching a van decide it’s done.

If you’ve been following this saga from the beginning, you know this van has been part of our story for a long time. Here’s where it all started.

I didn’t plan on writing this post.

I didn’t plan on needing a new car.

And I definitely didn’t plan on dealing with car payments at this stage of life.

But here we are.

The van — my faithful, stubborn, overheating Touring — has officially crossed into the land of Nope.

🔧 The Repair That Almost Saved Her

The clutch repair itself?

$500.

Only because we already had the part — about $79 — sitting there like a tiny piece of hope.

Otherwise, the quotes coming out of Phoenix for compressor + clutch were $1,500 to $1,800.

So we made the call:

Sink or swim — try the clutch first.

And for a minute?

It worked.

Cold air. Hope restored. Confidence slightly inflated.

And then… the valve leak showed up.

And just like that — we were back where we started.

It was restless everything — legs, arms, torso, the whole nervous system buzzing like a live wire. And honestly? I think the cancer treatments have affected the Parkinson's more than I like to admit. Stress piles on stress, and the body eventually says, "Nope."

UPDATE – March 26, 2026: Poshmark just rolled out their “Reimagined” update, and I’m already seeing the effects in my own closet. Auto‑offers are now being sent on certain categories like home décor, pottery, and beauty — even when sellers don’t initiate them. The real toolkit doesn't cost $30 a month.

So I saw this post going around about baking vanilla extract in your oven to make your whole house smell amazing. And look — I get it. The idea sounds great. You preheat to 300, pour a little vanilla in an oven-safe dish, and supposedly your home is transformed into a Hallmark movie.

Except it's not. It smells like vanilla — in your kitchen — for about an hour and a half. Then it's gone. And if you're doing this daily, you just spent $30 a month on a scent that doesn't even make it to the hallway.

And honestly? It's cheaper to just bake a double-strength vanilla golden cake. At least you get something out of it.

I don't know about you, but I didn't have $30 a month for experiments like that when my kids were little. I barely had $1 left after bills, and I had three toddlers under five in a house with shag carpet in the living room. Shag. Carpet. If you've been there, you already know. It holds everything — smells, mysteries, and evidence from events you can no longer fully recall. You could vacuum every single day and it still had opinions.

On Saturday March 21, 2026, Luke Days airshow in Glendale, Arizona recorded temperatures of 105 degrees — tarmac temperatures can run up to 20 degrees hotter, meaning ground-level heat approached 125 degrees.

By end of day: over 400 people contacted by medical personnel. At least 25–30 hospitalized for heat exhaustion, dehydration and overheating. Officials confirmed roughly 90% were under 12, over 60, or had pre-existing conditions including heart disease, diabetes or pregnancy.

Sunday the show was cut short. Entry stopped at 1 PM. The event ended at 3:30 instead of 5 PM.

Let me tell you something about bubble wrap.

It's not glamorous. Sure there are packing routine videos out there — but nobody's breaking down the actual price per square foot math that matters to your bottom line. That's what we're doing today.

I've been selling on Poshmark as maximumfashion for years. My reviews speak for themselves. Not one wrap failure. Not one.

That's not luck. That's a system.

My Wrapping Rule: If a Thumbnail Can Touch It, It's Not Wrapped

I wrap everything like an elephant is going to stomp on it before it reaches your door.

A story about coffee, lotto tickets, and the kind of people you don’t forget.

I used to wonder why my dad suddenly got serious about playing the lottery.

It wasn’t about getting rich.

It was about something else entirely.

The Table

There was a table — actually a few of them pushed together.

Old two-seater dinettes. Metal pedestal leg. Worn tops. Kept clean and shiny by the owner.

And around those tables sat the same group, day after day.

Generals. Privates. Contractors. Electricians. Plumbers. Engineers. Even a singer.

Different lives. Different paths.

But in that donut shop, they were all the same.

Measles Wasn’t a Childhood Rite of Passage — It Was a Week of Misery

People love to say measles was “no big deal.” I hear it everywhere now. But I had measles. I remember it vividly. And let me tell you — nobody in our neighborhood was throwing measles parties.

We were down for over a week, isolated in our rooms, feverish, coughing, and just plain miserable. My mom took time off work — unpaid — to care for us, bringing trays of water, checking fevers, and keeping us comfortable. That week or two cost her something. It cost all of us something. I still don’t know how she didn’t get sick.

Our “comfort breakfast” was eggs on toast with hot milk poured over it — a Depression-era dish known as milk toast or creamed eggs on toast. We called it the “graveyard sandwich,” because kids always rename things. It was soft, warm, and easy on a sore throat. No Flintstones vitamins back then. Just cod liver oil, decent food, and a mother doing her best.

The Fever That Defined the Week

I remember the fever most of all. My mom would swipe the back of her hand across our temples first — her built-in thermometer — then out came the glass one. Under the tongue, don’t talk, don’t bite it, don’t move. Three full minutes. And we were warned not to bite down because that little mercury bulb and a mouthful of glass were no joke.

The room stayed dark because the light hurt my eyes — measles makes your eyes burn and water. After the thermometer ordeal, she’d hand us a St. Joseph’s Aspirin — the little orange chewable every kid knew. No digital thermometers, no Tylenol, no quick fixes. Just a mother doing her best with the tools she had.

My mom even put a little bell on the tray beside my bed so I could ring if I needed anything. And I did ring it — not because measles itched like chickenpox, but because I felt miserable from head to toe. She dabbed pink calamine lotion on my arms and face anyway, because moms used it for anything red or irritated. She used socks on my hands like guards to protect my face from scratchign scars.

Before the rash even showed up, measles announced itself with tiny white-blue specks inside the mouth. These are called Koplik’s spots — a classic early sign doctors look for. Koplik’s spots form when measles inflames and injures the tissue inside the mouth, creating small white-blue specks on a red cheek lining.

Measles Was Not Harmless — The Numbers Prove It

Before the vaccine arrived in 1963, the United States saw every year:

1,000 cases of encephalitis (brain swelling)
400–500 deaths

In 1960, the U.S. population was about 179 million. Hundreds of deaths a year in a country that size is not a “nothing burger.” That’s a conveyor belt of serious illness and grief.

After the vaccine, cases and deaths plummeted, and by 2000 measles was declared eliminated in the U.S. But recent years have brought cases back, mostly in unvaccinated or unknown-status individuals, driven by travel and pockets of low immunity.

Where Today’s Measles Cases Come From

Measles no longer circulates continuously inside the U.S. the way it once did. Today, cases are usually linked to international travel or exposure to someone who picked it up in a country where the virus still circulates. Once measles enters a crowded shelter or a community with low immunity, it spreads fast — not because of politics, but because measles is one of the most contagious viruses on earth.

And honestly, anyone planning international travel should check current health alerts before they go. It’s one of the simplest ways to avoid bringing home something far more memorable than souvenirs.

Living out here in the Arizona desert, close to the border, you learn pretty quickly that what’s happening nearby matters. Illness doesn’t recognize lines on a map. If measles is active in surrounding regions, it can find its way into communities like ours — especially where immunity is low.

Legal immigration includes health screenings and vaccination checks. Not everyone entering the country goes through the same level of health screening, whether they are tourists, travelers, or migrants. From a public-health perspective, that matters when dealing with highly contagious diseases like measles, TB, COVID, or even chickenpox. These illnesses don’t care about borders, paperwork, or intentions — they spread wherever they find an opening. And that brings me to something people often forget when comparing childhood illnesses.

Measles vs. Chickenpox — The Lived Difference

Chickenpox was all itching — the kind that made you want to crawl out of your skin. I remember feeling like I was losing my mind; the minutes crawled and the urge to scratch was constant. But the itch didn’t win. Between the socks on my hands, the calamine lotion, and a healthy dose of fear about scarring my face, I developed a kind of childhood resilience. The Part I Carried Into Motherhood

I also understand that there will always be a small number of people with legitimate exemptions — religious, medical, or otherwise. Some children recover fully, and some don’t. A few even die. It was never a harmless childhood milestone, and that reality shaped the choices I made as a parent.

My Stance: Anti-Extra-Shots, Pro-Measles-Shot

I’m not anti-everything. I’m anti-extra shots, anti-“vaccinate while sniffling,” and anti-pressure. At my age, I stick to the ones that matter: pneumonia, shingles, tetanus. If you’ve ever read what tetanus does to a human body, you’d understand why I’m not skipping that one. I just received an update 2 weeks ago. Hardly any pain at the site of injection.

But measles? I lived through it. I remember the misery. Socks on hand to protect my face from scratching the itch. I remember my mother missing work. And I know families today can’t afford a week at home with a sick child and no paid leave. I also remember chicken pox and often the entire illness thing is like a memory that gets intertwined.

The Part People Forget: The Cost of Illness and Lifelong Effects

Most families today don’t have the margin my mother had — and even she barely had it. A week at home with a feverish child can mean lost wages, lost childcare, lost stability. And that’s before you even factor in the long‑term complications measles can leave behind. Hearing loss. Vision problems. Pneumonia. Neurological damage. These aren’t scare tactics; they’re documented outcomes that shaped how an entire generation of parents thought about childhood illness.

People forget that measles didn’t just take lives — it took time, energy, money, and peace of mind. It disrupted households. It strained working parents. It left some children with lifelong challenges. And it’s easy to romanticize the past when you’re not the one who lived through the fever, the isolation, the cold cloths, the endless checking, the fear that something could go wrong.

That’s why I vaccinated my kids. Not because I was scared of the “extra shots,” but because I remembered the reality. I remembered what it felt like to be that sick. I remembered what it cost my mother. And I knew that if there was a safe, effective way to spare my children — and myself — from reliving that chapter, I would take it.

Measles was never a harmless childhood milestone. It was a burden families carried because they had no other choice. Today, we do have a choice. And choosing prevention isn’t fear — it’s wisdom earned the hard way.
