Trojan horse

A Trojan is a program that appears to be legitimate, but in fact does something malicious. Quite often, that something malicious involves gaining remote, surreptitious access to a user's system. Unlike viruses, a Trojan does not replicate (i.e. infect other files), nor does it make copies of itself as worms do.

There are several different types of Trojans. Some of these include: remote access Trojans (RATs), backdoor Trojans (backdoors), IRC Trojans (IRCbots), and keylogging Trojans. Many Trojan encompass multiple types. For example, a Trojan may install both a keylogger and a backdoor. IRC Trojans are often combined with backdoors and RATs to create collections of infected computers known as botnets.

But why is it important to know the difference between a virus, a worm, and a Trojan? Because a virus infects legitimate files, thus if antivirus software detects a virus, that file should be cleaned. Conversely, if antivirus software detects a worm or a Trojan, there is no legitimate file involved and action should be to delete the file.

1.Abbreviated as RATs, a Remote Access Trojan is one of seven major types of Trojan horse designed to provide the attacker with complete control of the victim's system. Attackers usually hide these Trojan horses in games and other small programs that unsuspecting users then execute on their PCs

2. A type of a Trojan horse that is designed to provide the attacker with sensitive data such as passwords, credit card information, log files, e-mail address or IM contact lists. These Trojans can look for specific pre-defined data (e.g., just credit card information or passwords), or they could install a keylogger and send all recorded keystrokes back to the attacker.

3. A type of Trojan horse designed to destroy and delete files, and is more like a virus than any other Trojan. It can often go undetected by antivirus software.

4. A type of Trojan horse designed to use the victim's computer as a proxy server. This gives the attacker the opportunity to do everything from your computer, including the possibility of conducting credit card fraud and other illegal activities, or even to use your system to launch malicious attacks against other networks.

5. A type of Trojan horse designed stop or kill security programs such as an antivirus program or firewall without the user knowing. This Trojan type is normally combined with another type of Trojan as a payload.

Protection against Trojan

The most effective option for protecting against a Trojan horse may be installing a firewall if you do not already have one. A good software firewall is usually the best type for a personal computer. It can be configured to keep intruders out while also keeping your system, or programs within your system, from sending out personal or confidential data.
If you are unsure, test drive a trial version of a firewall or download a free one to check it out. Run it for one day and examine the log file
Probably the biggest line of defense for helping prevent having your computer infected with a Trojan Horse or other malicious software is being careful what you do online. Avoid using file sharing sites using the Gnutella network to download free movies, MP3 music files, etc. These sites are notorious for containing files infected with malware, including Trojan Horses. Use caution when downloading files off Usenet. Also, be careful what you freeware you download. That cool game could very well contain more than you bargained for - a Trojan Horse or other malicious software. Only download programs from reputable sources. Never accept programs transferred by instant messaging applications. Finally, never open an email attachment from someone you don't know. In fact, never open an email attachment from even someone you know that is unfamiliar and/or unexpected, as their system could be infected with a Trojan Horse or other malware. Confirm that the sender did actually send you the email before opening.
Ensure that you have anti-spyware software installed on your computer. Maximum PC actually recommends you have Spybot Search & Destroy as well as two other anti-spyware programs installed on your computer. It is good to know that there are free anti-spyware programs, including Spybot Search & Destroy, to download online. Windows Vista actually includes Windows Defender, a free anti-spyware program.

How to remove Trojan

1. If you are using and operating systems such as Windows XP or ME, you MUST disable your System
Restore before attempting any removal! After successful removal, you can re-enable System Restore. Here is how to turn off System Restore:

Log on as Administrator.
Right-click the My Computer icon on the desktop and click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Select Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply > Yes > OK.
Continue with the scan/clean process. Files under the _Restore folder can now be deleted.
Re-enable System Restore by clearing Turn off System Restore.

2. Make absolutely sure you have the latest "paid for" versions of removal tools such as Ad-aware and Spybot Search & Destroy.

3. Reboot your system in "safe mode". Here is how:

• If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power

• Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.

• Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.

• Ensure that the Safe mode option is selected.

• Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
• When you are finished with all troubleshooting, close all programs and restart the computer as you normally would.

4. In "safe mode", run Ad-aware, and if still needed, Spybot. If you have the "paid for" versions of these products, make sure you install the "add-ons" they have. For example, Ad-Aware has a special add-on to help remove a very nasty Trojan named VX2 (or Transponder).

5. Reboot your system in normal mode and rerun Ad-Aware and Spybot. Hopefully you will get a clean report...

6. Once your get a clean report, use the same System Restore procedure as above, but this time turn System Restore back on.

Sanjay Dutt will not be able to contest Lok Sabha elections.

Sanjay Dutt's plea to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections was on Tuesday rejected by the Supreme Court. The court said Dutt was convicted for 'serious offence' under the Arms Act by a Mumbai TADA court.

The bench said that Dutt was disqualified from contesting the elections under Section 8 (3) of the Representation of People Act, which debars a person sentenced to two or more years of imprisonment, from standing for polls.

It’s a very good judgment by a Supreme Court. This judgment will also be made applicable to all politicians with criminal back ground. Probably it will help us flush out corrupt / convicted / Criminal minded and politicians with Criminal back ground from the political system.

Unless the constitution is changed that any citizen even has a smallest crime record whether he is convicted or not, should be barred from contesting any election whatsoever, whether it is panchayat election, legistative assembly or parliament election. then only the politics of India will become clean.

Judiciary system should be up and above the individual personality, judgment should not be effected by the person position and power in the system. The judgment by the supreme court is very correct, the judge were stand to there judgment without considering his position and reputation in society, it will show good image of Indian Law to people of India.

On 29th march cyberespionage investigation has found that 1,295 computers in 103 countries and belonging to international institutions have been spied on by some spyware program.

Report describes it as network which researchers have called GhostNet, which primarily uses a malicious software program called gh0st RAT (Remote Access Tool) to steal sensitive documents and control system remotely.

The system disseminates malware to selected recipients via computer code attached to stolen emails and addresses, thereby expanding the network by allowing more computers to be infected. Once infected, a computer can be controlled or inspected by its hackers. The malware even has the ability to turn on the camera and audio-recording functions of an infected computer.

How It works.?

Ghostnet spyware has used technology called RAT - Remote admininstration Tool (RAT).
It is a software application which provides an attacker with the
capability to control your computer system remotely whenever you are online. The attacker can perform operation such as programs and/or files adding/deleting, ,file tansfers, capturing screenshot, etc.Attacker may use captured computer for different personal needs such as to send malicious attacks.

RAT Trojan Horses

Many trojans and backdoors now have remote administration capabilities allowing an individual to control the victim's computer. Many times a file called the server must be opened on the victim's computer before the trojan can have access to it. These are generally sent through email, P2P file sharing software, and in internet downloads. They are usually disguised as a legitimate program or file. Many server files will display a fake error message when opened, to make it seem like it didn't open. Some will also kill antivirus and firewall software. RAT trojans can generally do the following:
• Download, upload, delete, and rename files
• Format drives
• Open CD-ROM tray
• Drop viruses and worms
• Log keystrokes, keystroke capture software
• Hack passwords, credit card numbers
• Hijack homepage
• View screen

The Trojan horse in the context of computing and software, describes a class of computer threats (malware) that appears to perform a desirable function but in fact performs undisclosed malicious functions that allow unauthorized access to the host machine, giving them the ability to save their files on the user's computer or even watch the user's screen and control the computer

A Trojan Horse Virus is also usually capable of stealing important information from the user's computer. It will then send this information to Internet servers designated by the developer of the virus. The developer will then be able to gain a level of control over the computer through this Trojan virus. While these things take place, the user will notice that the infected computer has become very slow or unexpected windows pop up without any activity from the user.

How to remove Trojan from system:

In order for the trojan to be completely removed from your system, you need to remove its registry entries. This way it will not be able to re-install itself. The Trojan is a "exe" process so you can find int the RUN folder of your registry.

The registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE> SOFTWARE>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>RUN

This action will help you eliminate and chance of it reinstalling itself. Here is how:

1. Click Start

2. Click Run

3. Type regedit

4. Find this registry key:

5. In the right section click the process. For example is the trojan is "rusvdgpo". Delete all exe and dlls associated with the trojan names .

Inflation is at two decade low but price no price down

Inflation is at 20 year low of 0.44%, but it doesn’t seem that it is low at all time because still vegetable, fruit, cereals and house rent is on there high. Recession effect can be seen everywhere, there are lay-off and salary cuts are going on every company. Still in commodity, reality and food market no one is ready reduce the price. Everyone is in amused state that why prices are not coming down even if inflation is at two decade low of 0.44%.

There are some reasons which affect the inflation rate which need to be considered before coming to conclusion. Drastic fall in inflation is also attributed to high base effect as it stood at 7.78 per cent during the corresponding week last year. It’s a misconception that falling inflation means falling prices.

DK Joshi, Principal economist at CRISIL explains, "Falling inflation rates doesn’t mean falling of prices, it only implies the rate at which the prices of goods are growing is low." Inflation rate has fallen to .44 per cent, the lowest in seven years, after breaching the 12 per cent mark in August ‘08. That means, at present, the prices of goods are higher than .44 per cent than last year. An example will make it clearer. Let’s say, the price of an item is Rs 100. It increases to Rs 106 with inflation at 6 per cent. Now, if inflation has slipped to .44 per cent, the price of the same good will move to Rs 108.57 from Rs 106, that is, 0.4 per cent higher than Rs 106. So simply put, inflation is a general rise in the prices of goods and services. When inflation rises, the prices of the goods rise. When inflation reaches zero, the prices on goods will become stagnant. And when inflation turns negative, you will see the actual fall in prices.By when is it likely to happen?"We can expect to see inflation close to zero by March-end and by May-June in negative. It is when we will see actual fall in prices of goods," says Joshi.

So we will have to still wait that inflation will get down to negative and we will see the old reduce price everywhere in market.

There are so many is people wishing to break into the SAP world for no reason other than 'money', or just because they want to change there IT domain. There are also so many people those who doesnt have SAP expierence, but want to become consultant and keep asking which module should i go for?.

This is practically the same as a student who has not even start medical school asking the question of 'how do I avoid an entry level residency and all the schooling and go straight to a doctor?'

Here i want to say that anyone seeking to break into SAP needs to and must start with a company who is willing to train them and help them gain SAP experience under their belt before becoming a consultant. I have also seen many post in SAP forum peolpe keep asking 'hello I have a totally different background and want to get into SAP, what module to go for?' . Many of these people dont get proper guidance on those forum. They are suggested by many go for this module or that module. Suggestion given by people should show honesty and bluntness, for most of the people seeking an SAP career in this forum do it for the wrong reasons, or automatically think a certification course or some third party weak training gives them the project experience they need. Trust me, people who tell it like it is save many of these people time and money...both of which are just as important as the other in today's economy.

Everybody should need to understand that there is also a significant difference between a professional consultant and a professional user of SAP, regardless of module. A user may know only a few transactions (up to about 25 max.) but doesn't understand how to configure the application and adjust settings for data import and export. A consultant may not know all of the transactions in a module (few do), but knows how to configure SAP to support a business process or multiple processes. Advanced users can often become effective consultants once their understanding of end-to-end processes are restored.

The key to a successful consulting career is to be able to take experience in a series of correlated business processes and be able to craft a solution for a client that solves a business problem. This is not easily done by anyone with little business process experience. I won't say it is impossible, but it is difficult.

So, if you are comfortable dealing with real-world problems, understand how to decompose those problems to basic elements, can overlay the SAP transactions and business flows to address the identified problems within a process, understand what SAP can and more important CANNOT do, then you can be a consultant. The big firms such as IBM-GBS, Accenture, BearingPoint, Deloitte, and Cap-Gemini often hire "freshers" to so the most simple config. work and testing. However, the number of available slots for this technically skilled, but business unaware personnel is small these days as few organizations have not already implemented an ERP solution for ERP. Beware of taking a position that your experience has not equipped you to handle. If you ignore this advise, then you'll find yourself in more trouble career-wise than you can possibly imagine.

Go first to help.sap.comwhich will give you an overview how all the SAP environment fits together. However, if you are NOT currently a consultant, I'd recommend doing at least 2 years with a company that uses SAP while taking a broader look at the product, its structure, master data requirements, and how the integration works. This will prepare you for the challenges of consulting. Remember that most competent consultants also know some of the technical side of Basis and ABAP/4 development. This is essential for working with R/3 and still useful in the ECC environment.
At the end i would like to say that please be realistic before choosing career in SAP. To make a start now in SAP you would have to throw away all experience gained and start at the bottom, on a beginner's salary and work for several years to gain some relevant experience. Then you MIGHT be able to break into the SAP market in 4 or 5 years. I am sure that is not what you want or expect to hear, but that is how it is.

ICICI Bankrupt rumour are baseless

There are so many rumour spreading among people that's ICICI bank got bankrupted and they have no many in there balance sheet. All this rumours are baseless which are increasing panic among Indian people and all rushing to ICICI bank branches and there ATM to take out the money from there account. A bank also said they are aware about that rumours are being repeatedly circulated regarding the financial strength of the bank. These rumours, the bank states, are baseless and malicious.

No one could pinpoint the origin of the rumour but sources said that a mention of the bank going bankrupt had appeared in a vernacular newspaper and that could have triggered the rumour. Meanwhile, Kalpana Morpariya of ICICI Bank said that these were just rumours and the bank was not in any sort of financial problems.

To ally any concern among the bank’s customers, the bank reiterates that:
• ICICI Bank has a very strong capital position, having proactively raised Rs 20,000 crore (about $5 billion) in June 2007, almost doubling its capital base. It has a net worth of over Rs 47,000 crore (i.e. over $10 billion) and a capital adequacy ratio of 13.4% at June 30, 2008, as against the regulatory requirement of 9.0%. This is among the highest levels of capital adequacy in large Indian banks. This reflects the healthy capital position and comfortable level of leverage. Its banking and non-banking subsidiaries are also well-capitalised.

• ICICI Bank has consolidated total assets of over Rs. 484,000 crore (over $105 billion), which is diversified across a wide range of asset classes in India and overseas.

• ICICI Bank is profitable. It made a profit after tax of Rs. 4,158 crore (over $900 million) in FY2008 and Rs. 728 crore (over $155 million) in the first quarter of this year. This was due to the strong core performance, which more than offset the impact of adverse debt and equity market conditions in India and globally since the second half of FY2008.

Reliance will save 90,000cr per year for India from import.

This is the big news for Indian economy that RIL has started first commercial flow of oil from one of Reliance concessions in the Krishna-Godavari basin. Reliance has said that total oil and gas produced by it in the next 18 months would save some $20 billion (about Rs 90,000 crore) a year in imports, it would also save subsidy by providing a cheap ingredient for making fertilizers.

While Reliance became the first company to produce oil from an auctioned acreage deep under the sea, CEO of the company's exploration and production business, P M S Prasad, said gas from the acreage would commercially flow "not before January 2009". He said the oil from the acreage was of high quality and was being benchmarked to Bonny Light and Tapis crudes that are considered "sweet" and command a premium.

Mukesh Ambani, chairman of the group, said the D6 block is producing 5,000 barrels per day of oil now and will reach a peak of 5,50,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in 6-8 quarters. "This will account for 40% of the country's current hydrocarbon production," Ambani said.
This discovery will also have a huge impact on the gas pipeline infrastructure in the country. Mukesh Ambani looks at gas distribution networks to drive usage of KG basin gas. So in the next few months, one can expect more action on the city gas distribution front and policy roadmap for gas pricing at market determined prices.

India has lost one of his hero Mohan Chand Sharma Delhi Cop today in encounter with terrorist in Delhi, he was injured with four bullet in his body.Mohan Chand Sharma, inspector of the Delhi Police Special Cell who was critically injured during an encounter with Delhi blasts-linked terrorists, died in a hospital on Friday evening.Forty-one-year-old Sharma, a highly decorated officer who received three bullet injuries in his abdomen, thigh and right arm in the gunbattle at Jamia Nagar in South Delhi. A recipient of seven gallantry medals, Sharma, who had led the police team against the terrorists wanted in connection with the Delhi and Ahmedabad blasts, underwent an operation to remove the bullets from his body.

CERN: Creating big bang on earth

The European Organization for Nuclear Research known as CERN is the world's largest particle physics laboratory, situated in the northwest suburbs of Geneva on the Franco-Swiss border. The organization has twenty European member states, and is currently the workplace of approximately 2600 full-time employees, as well as some 7931 scientists and engineers (representing 500 universities and 80 nationalities).

"CERN" originally stood for "Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire" (which is french for "European Council for Nuclear Research"). The name was changed into European Organization for Nuclear Research shortly after it was founded, nevertheless the "CERN" abbreviation was kept as it had been widely accepted.

Its business is fundamental physics, finding out what the Universe is made of and how it works. At CERN, the world’s largest and most complex scientific instruments are used to study the basic constituents of matter — the fundamental particles. By studying what happens when these particles collide, physicists learn about the laws of Nature. The instruments used at CERN are particle accelerators and detectors. What is Large Hadron Collider (LHC)?

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is a gigantic scientific instrument near Geneva, where it spans the border between Switzerland and France about 100 m underground. It is a particle accelerator used by physicists to study the smallest known particles – the fundamental building blocks of all things. It will revolutionise our understanding, from the minuscule world deep within atoms to the vastness of the Universe.

Two beams of subatomic particles called 'hadrons' – either protons or lead ions – will travel in opposite directions inside the circular accelerator, gaining energy with every lap. Physicists will use the LHC to recreate the conditions just after the Big Bang, by colliding the two beams head-on at very high energy. Teams of physicists from around the world will analyse the particles created in the collisions using special detectors in a number of experiments dedicated to the LHC

What is the aim of LHC?
The aim of the 4.4 billion-pound (over $7.7 billion) experiment is to recreate the conditions that existed a fraction of a second after the Big Bang - the birth of the universe - and provide vital clues to the building blocks of life. It will track the spray of particles thrown out by collisions in a search for the elusive Higgs Boson, a theoretical entity that supposedly lends weight, or mass, to the elementary particles. So important is this mysterious substance that it has been called the "God Particle".
Scientists also hope to shed some light on the invisible material that exists between particles - dubbed "dark matter" as no one knows what it really is - which make up most of the universe.

What it will do?
Scientists plan to smash particle beams together at close to the speed of light inside CERN's tightly-sealed Large Hadron Collider to create multiple mini-versions of the primeval Big Bang, which occurred about 13.7 billion years ago and led to formation of stars, planets -- and eventually to life on earth.
"Each collision of a pair of protons in the LHC will release an amount of energy comparable to that of two colliding mosquitoes, so any black hole produced would be much smaller than those known to astrophysicists."

What is it for?

Due to switch on in 2007, the LHC will provide collisions at the highest energies ever observed in laboratory conditions and physicists are eager to see what they will reveal. Four huge detectors � ALICE, ATLAS, CMS and LHCb � will observe the collisions so that the physicists can explore new territory in matter, energy, space and time. A fifth experiment, TOTEM, installed with CMS, will study collisions where the protons experience only very small deflections.

Inside Google Chrome

Finally much awaited Google web browser Chrome has been launched on Tuesday 2nd October. The day from which i hear about Chrome i was waiting to download it. i wanted to see how its interface and how much it is differ from Internet explorer. It took me around 1 hour to download Google chrome on my laptop, it is only due to my slow Internet connection. I was so eager to download it that i slept around 3.30 am IST on that night. Finally i downloaded it.

Its totally different experience than Microsoft Internet explorer and Chrome is much faster than explorer. I found many new thing in Chrome.On the home page you can find all sites which you visited last while surfing, it keeps snapshot of it.

There is one new tab in Chrome called incognit means pages you view in this window won't appear in your browser history or search history, and they won't leave other traces, like cookies, on your computer after you close the incognito window.

One of the good thing about chrome is that it is open source means you can see the source code of the browser and you can also modified it.One of this feature of Chrome make it different from Microsoft Internet explorer. One side Google is coming with open source idea on the other side Microsoft doesn't want to share anything.

Google has also provided Java console to make change in the Browser which make it simpler for any changes if anyone wanted to do as per the need.

There is one task manger of Google Chrome, which is the feature you would not find in any web browser. In that task manager you can check how much memory is being used by browser for every tab. There is also CPU utilization in that task manager and if anyone to do check more information regards memory and CPU that can be checked into the nerd option which provide analysis about memory utilization.

All this feature of Chrome make it different from other web browser available in the market and still it is Beta version of it. Hopefully Google bring new thing and improved version in final edition of Chrome.

Google now coming up with internet browser. Chrome is the name of new Google web browser which google launching on Tuesday. New browser will have to compete with Microsoft and Firefox. This will be the latest assault on Microsoft. Microsoft Internet explorer shares 80% of web browser market.

Google confirmed the launch in the blog and said: “We can add value for users and, at the same time, help drive innovation on the web. We realised that the web had evolved from mainly simple text pages to rich, interactive applications and that we needed to completely rethink the browser. What we really needed was not just a browser, but also a modern platform for web pages and applications, and that’s what we set out to build.”

New browser is designed to be lightweight and fast, and to cope with the next generation of web applications that rely on graphics and multimedia. It will launch as a beta for Windows machines in 100 countries, with Mac and Linux versions to come.

Chrome is open source web browser which Google describes as using components from Apple's WebKit and Mozilla's Firefox. It will also vitally integrate the brilliant Google Gears for offline working and a brand new JavaScript engine, 'V8', which it claims will "power the next generation of web applications that aren't even possible in today's browsers".

Google new product will now make Microsoft to rethink and come up with new strategy. They are already facing big competition from Google on Internet market. Its seems that browser will heat up again with new competitor in market.

10 billion dollars becomes a dollar in Zimbabwe

Beset by political chaos and runaway price inflation, Zimbabwe is stripping 10 zeros off its nearly worthless currency so that 10 billion dollars becomes a dollar, news agencies reported Wednesday.

The country's central bank chief, who announced the move in a television broadcast, said the big numbers were causing problems for computer systems, the BBC said.
"The Zimbabwe dollar will be redenominated by a factor of one to 10, which means we are removing 10 zeros from our monetary value," Gideon Gono, governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, said in the broadcast. "Ten billion dollars today will be reduced to one dollar."
Computers, calculators and automated teller machines have been unable to handle basic transactions in billions and trillions of dollars, the Associated Press reported, adding that Gono just last week introduced a 100-billion-dollar note that is not enough to buy a loaf of bread.
The new currency numbering takes effect Aug. 1 with the issue of a 500-dollar bill equivalent to five trillion now. Zimbabwe's official inflation rate, highest in the world, is 2.2 million per cent a year.

Inflation in Zimbabwe has broken all the records and is first such country of the list where inflation has reached to an uncountable percentage. In March 2008, inflation was 3,55,000 per cent, which was the double of the inflation in February 2008, when it was 1, 65,000 per cent. We have to say thanks to the Country’s Central Bank (CCB) and the people who are involved in inflation calculation. How they are able to calculate the 3, 55,000 per cent inflation is out of the intelligence of normal people.

What does this level of inflation in Zimbabwe mean to the poor residents of the country? It means that Zimbabweans are purchasing a sandwich for Zimbabwean $50 million, sounds crazy? One kg of potatoes cost Zimbabwean $17 million. Effectively, this means that the value of Zimbabwean dollar has reached almost to zero. Hence 50-million Zimbabwean dollar equals to only1 US$… really only one US$. And also, 50 million Zimbabwean dollar equals to almost 42 Indian rupees.

On May 2, 2008, Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) issued currency note of 500 million dollars, which had an expiry date. Once again a crazy talk? But true, the Zimbabwean $50, 0000000.00 will be a bearer cheque with validity up to December 31, 2008. After December 31, 2008, no body can accept it.

What is Ultra HD technology

Ultra HD (Ultra High Definition), also called UHDV (Ultra High Definition Video) and Super Hi-Vision, is a digital video format proposed by the Japanese research group and broadcasting company, NHK (Nippon Hoso Kyokai) Science and Technical Research Laboratories.

Ultra HD is a giant leap forward from HDTV. It provides a video resolution that contains 16 times more pixels than a conventional HDTV. That is, against 1,080 lines of resolution of HDTV, Ultra HD offers 4,320. More precisely, Ultra HD provides 7,680 x 4,320 pixels in a widescreen aspect ratio of 16x9, for a total 33 megapixels. Additionally, Ultra HD offers a 22.2 channel sound system as opposed the 5-6 channel surround-sound systems commonly available with HDTVs.

Ultra HD is not planned to be commercially available until 2025. Until then, technology junkies will have to be satisfied with the standard HDTV.

According to the Yomiuri Shimbun, the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications will be starting a public-private partnership to develop technology for UHDV in the hopes of setting an international standard for Super Hi-Vision in addition to broadcasting with it beginning in 2015.

Former workers at the web giant Google have launched a rival search engine.
Called Cuil, from the Gaelic for knowledge and hazel, its founders claim it does a better and more comprehensive job of indexing information online.
The technology it uses to index the web can understand the context surrounding each page and the concepts driving search requests, say the founders.

Cuil, pronounced "cool", says it uses more than 120 billion webpages to build up its index of the information it finds on the web. Cuil have said that they use more than 120 billion web pages to build up their index, the search engine say that this is more than Google. We are not certain how many Microsoft index, but it will be less than this figure.
Cuil have said that they will not keep your personal information and this is a great marketing angle, considering everyone is concerned about their online privacy.

Google and Microsoft keep their search results in a classic format, where Cuil makes things pretty by displaying results in a magazine format.

Cuil founders, Anna Patterson, Russell Power and Louis Monier are former Google staffers. The other founder Tom Patterson worked for IBM and others on search and storage technologies. By declaring its aim of taking on Google, Cuil joins a long list of others that have tried and largely failed to dent the search giant's market share. Google Knol v/s Wkipedia

Google has launched its own version of communally constructed online encyclopedia Wikipedia, which consistently ranks among the most visited websites in the world. The Internet search powerhouse went live late Wednesday with a free service dubbed "Knol," to indicate a unit of knowledge.

Unlike Wikipedia, people who write entries on Google's encyclopedia are identified and could even earn a profit from their articles with ads. The more times the article is viewed, the more an author can get paid.

"The key principle behind Knol is authorship. Every knol will have an author (or group of authors) who put their name behind their content," the company wrote on its blog Wednesday. "It's their knol, their voice, their opinion. We expect that there will be multiple knols on the same subject, and we think that is good."

Google Knol readers rank the usefulness of entries, adding comments and asking questions. Google will not edit the pieces.

But can Knol unseat current online leader Wikipedia?

Wikipedia was founded in January 2001. It has more than 8.2 million articles in more than 200 languages, including more than 2 million in English.

Unlike Google Knol, Wikipedia is not ad-supported, but instead supported by the nonprofit Wikimedia Foundation. With a stated mission of supporting the free dissemination of information, the foundation is funded mostly by private donations and some grants

Google's main challenge in competing with Wikipedia will be people's current Web habits.

Knol's respect for authorship will be a huge boon for Google to differentiate it from competitors such as Wikipedia and Squidoo, Saffo said.

Digital doomsday : is it end of internet

The digital doomsday is round the corner. In exactly 1,273 days there will be Web chaos in the world as we run out of Internet addresses.

More than 85 per cent of the available addresses have already been allocated and the rest will run out by 2011, according to a prediction by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

When the current IP address scheme, called Internet Protocol Version 4 (Ipv4), was introduced in 1981, there were hardly 500 computers connected to the internet. The address makers at that time allowed for four billion addresses, thinking they would last forever. They have been nearly gobbled up in just under 30 years!

As addresses run dry we will all feel the pinch: internet speeds will drop and new connections and services (such as internet phone calling) will either be expensive or simply impossible to obtain.

The IETF is already prepared for the doomsday. It has devised a replacement system, called IPv6, more than a decade ago, providing enough addresses for billions upon billions of devices as well as improving internet phone and video calls, and possibly even helping to end e-mail spam.

Fed up from cricket

After 45 days of IPL too much cricket everybody seems of fed up with cricket. No one seems interested of ongoing Asia Cup; even if there is a match between arch rival India and Pakistan. This is also affect of T20 because now everyone wants to watch short fast interesting cricket which get completed in three hours, not like ODI where you waste your whole day in watching match. ODI also get one sided if one team score many runs in 1st inning then there is no chance of for another team but it is not same in T20.

In recent Indian public also having too many doses of cricket, it started from 3 month long Australia series than 45 days IPL now Asia cup. It doesn’t seems up to ended here it will go like this for next one more year. Even players now started complaining about too much cricket they are playing. Players even don’t have time to grasp a breath.

In a recent press conference, Indian Cricket captain, MS Dhoni expressed his dissatisfaction over too much of cricket. He clearly told that they are very much tired and indicated that he and his team need rest desperately. The Dhoni’s statements are reflection of cricket saturation. We have to admit that, this season, they are having too much of cricket. IPL ( too much 45 days), followed by Bangaldesh tour, Asia cup, Champion trophy, Srilanka tour etc. There is a necessity to restrict cricket. With the introduction of IPL, the cricketers are burdened too much.

Cricket matches don’t seem to stop here if you see next 1 year schedule there is no time for Indian team to take break from cricket neither for cricket fans.

What is Global Warming?

Global Warming refers to a rise in the average temperature of Earth’s atmosphere due to the presence of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere.

Greenhouse gasses are comprised mainly of Carbon Dioxide, Nitrous Oxide, Methane, and Ozone.

The atmosphere is warmed naturally by the “greenhouse effect” caused by these gasses, which trap the sun’s radiation and act as a sort of “thermal blanket” keeping the Earth within a mostly livable temperature band averaging around 59 degrees Fahrenheit. If the earth had no global warming or blanket of atmospheric gasses keeping us warm, the planet would be about 90 degrees cooler than it is - very cold; you and I would not be here if it weren’t for global warming.

Global Warming Skeptics
The global warming skeptics are of the view that the global warming is a good phenomenon and should not be stopped. There are various benefits of global warming according to them. According to the skeptics, the global warming will increase humidity in tropical deserts. Also the higher levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere trigger plant growth. As predicted, due to the global warming the sea levels will rise. But this can be readily adapted. Another argument of global warming skeptics is that earth has been warmer than today as seen in its history. The thought is that global warming is nothing to get afraid of because it just takes us back to a more natural set of environment of the past. Animals and plants appeared to do just fine in those eras of warm climate on the earth. According to few skeptics, the present chilly climate on the earth is an abnormality when judged over the geographical scale. Over geologic time, the earth’s mean temperature is 22 degrees C, as compared to today's 15.5 degrees C.

Here are some points everybody should know about Global Warming.

1. Water vapor is the most important, abundant greenhouse gas. So if we’re going to control a greenhouse gas, why don’t we control it instead of carbon dioxide (CO2)?

The ozone hole is a thinning of the stratosphere's ozone layer, which is roughly 9 to 31 miles above the earth's surface. The depletion of the ozone is due to man-made chemicals like chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). A thinner ozone layer lets more harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation to reach the earth's surface.
Global warming, on the other hand, is the increase in the earth's average temperature due to the buildup of CO2 and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere from human activities.

What you can do to reduce Global Warming.

1.When it is time for a new car, choose a more fuel efficient vehicle

2.Encourage the switch to renewable energy :
Successfully combating global warming requires a national transition to renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and biomass

3. Protect and conserve forest worldwide :

Rising oil prices and global warming now has made government of many countries to think about alternative of petrol. Hydrogen is looking as one of the alternative for it but there are some pros and cons of Hydrogen base Vehicles.

Hydrogen vehicle :

A hydrogen vehicle is a vehicle that uses hydrogen as its on-board fuel for motive power. The term may refer to a personal transportation vehicle, such as an automobile, or any other vehicle that uses hydrogen in a similar fashion, such as an aircraft. The power plants of such vehicles convert the chemical energy of hydrogen to mechanical energy (torque) in one of two methods: combustion, or electrochemical conversion in a fuel-cell:

In combustion, the hydrogen is burned in engines in fundamentally the same method as traditional gasoline (petrol) cars.

In fuel-cell conversion, the hydrogen is reacted with oxygen to produce water and electricity, the latter of which is used to power an electric traction motor

A potential advantage of hydrogen is that it could be produced and consumed continuously, using solar, water, wind and nuclear power for electrolysis.

Disadvantage Hydrogen Vehicles :

Hydrogen vehicles utilizing hydrogen produce more pollution than vehicles consuming gasoline, diesel, or methane .This is because, although hydrogen fuel cells generate no CO2, production of the hydrogen creates additional emissions. While methods of hydrogen production that do not use fossil fuel would be more sustainable, currently such production is not economically feasible, and diversion of renewable energy to the production of hydrogen for transportation applications is inadvisable.

Hydrogen fuel difficulties

1. Fuel cell cost :Hydrogen fuel cells are costly to produce and fragile

2. Freezing conditions : Freezing conditions are a major consideration because fuel cells produce water and utilize moist air with varying water content.

The main problem with Hydrogen base vehicle is that production of the cars because to manufacture one car it costs around 100,000$ which is more than one Ferrari car. Second problem is where to find hydrogen fuelling stations, even oil companies not going to spend tens of billions of dollars building a hydrogen fuelling infrastructure for few cars. Only in California Hydrogen fueling stations are available.

Recently Honda has launched Hydrogen base car called FCX Clarity’s. It is the first hydrogen-powered fuel cell car to hit the mini-mass market. The FCX Clarity’s fuel-cell unit can generate up to 100 kilowatts of electricity, enough to accelerate the car from zero to 60 miles an hour in less than nine seconds, and give it top speeds of 100 miles an hour.

Ice on Mars an important breakthrough

NASA scientists have announced that the Mars Phoenix Lander has discovered water ice just below the martian surface.
They have captured photographic evidence of dice-sized white material exposed during digging which four days later had begun to disappear.

"It must be ice," said Peter Smith, the Phoenix Lander's lead investigator. "These little clumps completely disappearing over the course of a few days, that is perfect evidence that it's ice." The news has huge implications. If there's life on Mars, or if there ever was, the best place to find evidence of it is in water. The lander may have also discovered an icy layer. It began digging a different trench when its robotic arm connected with a firm layer and after three attempts, found it could not dig any further.

Yahoo is offering two new e-mail domains for free to users in addition to its familiar @yahoo.com handle. The two new e-mail domains, @ymail.com and @rocketmail.com, are calculated to increase the number of people registering for free e-mail addresses with Yahoo. According to Yahoo, we are facing an e-mail account crisis: there are too many similar accounts. In other words, Yahoo considers that there are too many IDs and the newcomers won’t be able to create an e-mail account according to their personality or name.
Yahoo hopes that users will register with ymail or rocketmail in order to drop old e-mail addresses that may have been chosen out of necessity instead of preference.Through this move, Yahoo has practically tripled its available names and until its service will reach 800 million users, one does not have to bother about the name of the e-mail account.

What is Concept Cars :

A concept car or show car is a car prototype made to showcase a concept, new styling, technology and more. They are often shown at motor shows to gauge customer reaction to new and radical designs which may or may not have a chance of being produced.

BMW's GINA concept explores the design possibilities opened up when a car's exterior is completely flexible - from variable lines to hingeless doors to eyelid .A flexible fabric covering allows the exterior shape of the car to be quite dynamic, bending, extending and moving to fit the contours of the moving substructure beneath it.

2. Mazda Furai : The name Furai (pronounced foo-rye) means "sound of wind".

It's the fifth concept of the family – after Nagare, Ryuga, Hakaze and Taiki concepts, that clearly represent Mazda's exploration of a new design language for its future cars.
The car is powered by a mid-mounted, three-rotor Mazda 20B rotary engine, that gives around 450 hp thanks to E100 ethanol fuel. Mazda's studio in Southern California led by North American design boss Franz Von Holzhausen is responsible for the design of the Furai, and further developed by the racecar specialists at Swift Engineering.

3.
