With Christmas fast approaching there isn't long to guarantee delivery for the 25th. Order before 2pm on the following dates for delivery by Christmas day:

UK: Thursday 23rd December
Western Europe: 13th December
USA, Canada & Eastern Europe: 10th December
Rest of the world: 6th December

As a special pre-Christmas treat we are also offering free next-day UK delivery on all orders over £50. Just place your order before 2pm and we will get your order sent to you for 1pm the next day.

Don't forget also to order before the Thursday 23rd December to guarantee delivery for the 24th.

A couple of weeks ago, we were given the opportunity to try and test out the jackets and all we can say is that we are in love!

I'm sitting by the large glass windows of the shop and watching the myriad of people walking past who are quite clearly regretting not putting that extra layer on this morning. Although it was warm and sunny 2 days ago, it's a cruel quirk of British weather that it's now less than 10 degrees celsius, and everyone's starting to feel it. Even the usually super-tough Hardy has been eyeing up the barbour dog jackets we've been selling in the store. The bad news is, it's not going to get any better until about April. With this in mind, you probably want to cosy up in your bed, and generally hibernate the colder seasons away. If that's the case, then we've got good news for you! Pendleton, a family-owned wool business for 140 years, have sent us some stunning new pillows, blankets and throws. Since it'd take more words than the rest of the blog combined to detail Pendleton's history, I'll just link to their excellent Pendleton Heritage page. With their years of experience, and no-compromise attitude to quality, these really are stunning items.

Tellason Denim - Coming Soon

Looking for a new pair of raw jeans this season? Then look no further. We've just received a sample pair of the new Strummer fit from US brand Tellason, and we think they've absolutely hit the nail on the head in quality, construction and fit. The fabric is cone mills' raw selvedge 12.75oz sanforized denim, made in North Carolina at cone's White Oak plant. It's easy to see where the level of quality comes from when you consider that the White Oak plant has been continually producing its premium denim since 1905. They say that practice makes perfect, and 105 years of it seems to have done them a lot of good! The jeans are cut and sewn in San Francisco, and the leather patch comes from Tanner Goods of Portland. It's really nice to see a pair of jeans created and assembled completely within the USA. Each of the limited-edition run of 250 is hand numbered on the inside of the right-hand pocket. It shouldn't be long until the jeans arrive, and as soon as they do, we'll get them on our online store.

Everyone knows that Dr. Martens are a postman's favourite shoe due to their extreme comfort and versatility. However, upon taking a look at the selection of classic brogues, pink-laced desert boots, tassled loafers and blue suede shoes proudly displayed in our window, the postman almost dropped his sack in surprise. You see his whole understanding of Dr. Martens shoes has just been completely shaken, as per the intended effect of our brilliant new window display. As for us, it was an early-morning start as we arrived to meet the team from Dr. Martens, brandishing wooden crates, lighting and toolboxes. There wasn't much for us to do, so we busied ourselves by generally getting in the way and snapping pictures of the work in progress.

Feel free to come down and have a look whenever you can, or meet us all here for our Autumn/Winter preview evening on Tuesday the 7th September.

A too A/W10 Preview Evening

If you're friends with us on facebook, you've probably noticed that you have an event invitation for an A too Autumn/Winter preview evening. Or maybe you're one of those people who never checks their event invitations because you're getting fed up of that guy who you met in a bar at 5am who thinks that you'd really love to go see his 'totally awesome' traditional 9-piece Slovakian folk band. Whatever, facebook friend or not, you're invited to our preview evening. It's on Tuesday 7th September, and runs from 6-8pm. As well as having a look around our store, you'll have the chance to win shop vouchers and one of two exclusive uniform wares watches. The lovely people from poppy red will be around to hand out free drinks to make sure you don't go thirsty.

Above - Harry style in a washed brown leather. The shoes are washed in a enzyme and stone mixture to give the leather an aged appearance.

Below - Artie Mo in Bitter Chocolate suede with leather heel cup and gum sole. The Artie is very smart and is definitely a key piece this season if we can say so ourselves here at the shop.

We have just received a shipment from Folk and it contained four new boots for the winter. The staff favorite is the Andre 1 which comes in a black which contrasts lovely with the yellow laces. The nubuck and the fur lining make the boot one for the up and coming cold seasons.

Folk A/W10 - Part One

Once in a while, the postman walks up our road with a large cardboard box balanced carefully upon his trolley. On this particular occasion someone has scrawled 'FOLK' in large marker pen on the side of the box. Within seconds, the staff have forgotten all rules about not running with scissors, and are fighting to break through layer upon layer of parcel tape. In the box sits a mish-mash of various shirts and t-shirts. Each piece is looked over, given approving nods all around, and put on hangers ready for the shop floor. The thing is, every single miserable looking brown cardboard box from folk hides a wealth of colour and texture like no other. Pictured below are the fruits of the first delivery - there's plenty more to come including knitwear, outerwear and shoes. Everything pictured below is available on our website.

There's still a load of bargains to be had in the sale too, so make sure to have a browse through.
