At first I thought of going for the normal winter colors but then thought against it. I paired up Illamasqua "Viridian" with Deborah Lippmann "Across The Universe". I love both the nailpolishes and the end result looks absolutely stunning. Honestly the pics don't do any justice.

Viridian is a very shiny forest green polish which is perfect for Christmas on its own and is definitely a must have for "green" lovers. Deborah Lippmann makes the ultimate glitter polishes. This shade looks stunning on its own and when paired with a deeper colored base polish it looks amazing!

The green shade is totally fab and as I said a "must-have" for green shade lovers.

I then paired the shade with the Lippmann glitter polish and it looks really gorgeous. Its just too bad that my camera is not able to pick up all the gorgeousness of this nailpolish. It has this green and blue glitters which are just the perfect size and I think Lippmann makes the most amazing glitter polishes.

WAYNE - "GOSSMAKEUPARTIST"

He is well known by all. He is a british makeup artist who doesn't shy away from giving you the "inside" tips from the makeup world. His videos are really short, to the point and are worthy of watching. I am not a huge fan of his eye makeup and stuff but I love how he makes all "techniques" look so easy. I have definitely learned a lot from him and he is one guru I visit almost on a daily basis and the fact that he is easy on the eyes definitely helps! :D

MICHAEL - "THESUBLIMEAGENT"

HE is one guru who has the absolute perfect skin!!!! I wish I had his skin. If you are a skincare junkie like me then visit his channel to get the most indepth views and reviews about a lot of skincare products. KOREN - "ENKOREMAKEUP"

He was the very first male makeup artist that I bumped into when I first started looking for youtube videos. His videos are really fun and informative and he has some amazing techniques and DIYs. Honestly, eventhough I like him I don't see his videos that much since I found Wayne lol :D

JOSHUA - "PETRILUDE"

Ok........his channel is NOT for everyone. His channel is mainly for those who love creative makeup and loves to experiment with colors. He is definitely a good makeup artist and definitely worth checking out as he knows what he is talking about.

Finally.......let me talk about a favourite youtuber. He is NOT into beauty or makeup......so, ladies if you are NOT interested then don't read any further as this guys channel is radically different. He is a youtube sensation and most of you might be knowing him....YUP am talking about SHANE DAWSON!!!!

If you love really crass and crude jokes then please visit his channel and have the time of your life. I have a "deranged" sense of humour :P , so I FREAKIN LOVE THIS GUY. I enjoy watching his pointless funny videos. He is an all time favourite of mine.

SIGMA BRUSH CUP HOLDER

I always used to carry my brushes in a small bag or in a brush roll. Both ways are good but I always managed to get my brushes all squished up and I hated it as it just plays havoc with the brush bristles especially the foundation brushes. When I saw this on the sigma site I wanted to get my hands on it and when the black friday sale came I got my hands on it and oh boy am I happy or what........:D

This is the sigma brush holder and its quite a good size and the inside is roomy enough to put all your brushes especially for travelling. The biggest plus for me is that the case is really really really firm and even if you throw the holder inside your suitcase without any care its not going to get crushed. The fact that its sturdy is the biggest selling point for me.

This is the inside of the brush holder. Its really roomy and when you close it, its tall enough to contain even your super duper long brush with out any problem.

Ok.......so now to the negative points........well its not much of a con........They sell these only in one color and that is black :(. I just wish it came in different colors :D. I would have loved to get my hands on a pink, purple or beige brush cup holder :D

Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend everyone to get their hands on this :). Cost is 20 $

When this product was first released it was hyped to be the next BIG thing in makeup industry. It is an HD powder that claims to keep the face matte and promoted as the product to use during photoshoots. But, then came the huge Hollywood makeup accident where a number of celebrities were photographed with whitish cast on photographs and this was found to be the culprit. I know that this is not the proper way to start talking about this product but it sure is a huge con and people planning to buy this should keep this in mind.

ETUDE HOUSE NAILPOLISH HAUL & SWATCHES

These nailpolishes are NOT the "real" Etude House nailpolishes. They are fake and I bought them knowing that they are fake. The colors were so good that I had to buy them and thankfully the quality is really good, so, I am happy with my purchase :)

The nailpolishes have no names instead they have numbers.

From Lt to Rt:- 134,125,03,138,133,150

Just by looking at the packaging itself one can identify that these are fake as the packaging is a rip off from the old L'oreal paris Resist & Shine Nailpolishes. L'oreal now has new packaging for their Resist & shine range.

Look how vibrant the colors are. I love all the colors as they are so unique and the only polish which is not too pigmented is number 03(third one from the left). I had to apply atleast 5 coats to achieve some opacity. All the other polishes are really pigmented and all of them except for the hot pink color has shimmer in them which is very subtle and elegant

.

It claims that it lasts up to 7 days and I have the hot pink color on my nails right now for the past 5 days and so far NO CHIPPING! I am impressed! The nailpolish applicator is really nice and one swipe covers the entire nail. The nailpolishes do have a strong smell to them which goes away after it is applied on to the nails.

The cost for these nailpolishes are Rs 89 each.

Overall, I love these polishes eventhough they are knock offs and would love to purchase more colors as the line has some really unique colors with amazing pigmentation and is not too steep on the pocket.

SALLY HANSEN NAILPOLISH REMOVER

I used to use Lakme nailpolish removers before I found these. Lakme removers are good but they are just so tiny that I find myself running out to get more every single month and in the long run its quite expensive. That is when I found out about these removers. First time I used the blue colored nailpolish remover from sally hansen and after I used it up, I bought the pink one and today I will be reviewing the pink one.

The big bottle is 8 fl oz

It has a peculiar remover smell which goes away very easily. It does remove nailpolish fast & easy. But I found that glittery & shimmery nailpolishes are taken off much better with the blue colored remover and not this one(maybe 'coz the formulas for both these are different). I have not seen any "strengthening" effect yet. It is really good for those who loves to put new polishes all the time. In that case this big size bottle is really economical.

Overall I do like this but I don't love this like the blue colored one. The blue colored one really meets up to my expectations. Once this is over, I will definitely repurchase, but not this one.

Cost:- 325 Rs.

J.F. lazartigue Dry & Delicate Hair Soy Milk Strengthening Serum

I have always loved J.F Lazartigue products and their pre-shampoo conditioner is my favourite. So, when they came out with a new serum I just had to try it out!

I have been using this for the past 1 month and as you can see a quarter of the serum is all that I used up. This small bottle will last me for atleast 4-5 months. It is a glass bottle and so I don't think its handy when you are travelling. The cap is also not tight and does come off easily. Sometimes a bit of the product leaks out which is a bit messy. Overall, the packaging looks good but is not consumer friendly.

It comes with a pump, so its hygienic. A very small amount is needed at a time.

The product is clear and looks very watery but feels a bit oily. Once its on the hair the oiliness goes away. It has a very pleasant light smell.

This serum is recommended for those with dry, fine and delicate hair.

This serum is rich in vitamins E, F and Soy Oil, smoothening the hair scales and giving shine to fine, dry, delicate hair.

Viamins E and F help fight against dryness and ageing of the hair, the Soy Oil nourishes and revitalises it without weighing it down.

Directions for use:
Pour a few drops of serum into the palm of your hand and apply on ends of fine, dry and damaged hair. This will make your hair instantly supple, smooth and shiny.

My take on the serum:-

Its light weight and does hydrate the hair really well, BUT.........I do have a love-hate relationship with this. It works the best for me on days when my hair feels like sahara desert. It has to be really dry and parched, then this stuff really moisturises my hair and gives the shine. On days when my hair is acting normal it weighs my hair down. Overall I am not a huge fan of the serum and I am a bit disappointed as I had huge hopes with this one :(.

Recommend:- Well, you can try this if your hair is super-duper dry. Otherwise steer clear.

ORIFLAME NAILPOLISH CORRECTOR PEN

If you are clumsy like me but you love your mani & pedi then you definitely need this bad boy in your arsenal. Presenting to you Oriflame nailpolish corrector pen.

I have been using this for quite some time and earlier I used to use Q tips with nailpolish remover to take off the excess nailpolish at the edges. It does a good job but is not as precise as the corrector pen. The pen like end allows to remove excess polish from the edges without taking off the actual polish from the nails. Its just basically nailpolish remover in a pen like gadget which is very convenient for people like me. Easy to carry around and once you start using this you will love this!

The corrector pen comes with an additional clean tip which can be removed and fitted on to the opposite end when the other end becomes unusable. So, basically you get double use out of this corrector pen. I have been using the same end for past 6 months and I think I can use the same end for additional 3 more months provided it doesn't get too dirty.

Cost:-150 Rs. I don't have an oriflame consultant where I live so I bought through ebay India. But the cost is even more less when you purchase it through a consultant.

Recommend:- Oh yes! I am not saying that you have to buy the same corrector pen. But good corrector pens from any brand will be a great addition to the mani-pedi routine as you won't have to worry about dirty edges :).

LAKME ABSOLUTE PLUMP & SHINE 6-HOUR 3D GLOSS

Lakme has released their "absolute" range and the first thing I picked up was their lipgloss. I have to admit lakme has come a long way and their new line is pretty impressive. Love the stylish and snazzy packaging. Really cool.

What it is:-

With the increasing craze for plump and pouty lips, Lakme Absolute Plump & Shine is set to create a rave. This revolutionary 3D lip gloss formula contains Marine Collagen and high shine pigments which keep lips plump and hydrated. With its high pigmentation properties, you are sure to make your lover fall weak on his knees.

Hmmmmmmmmm.........."lover fall weak on his knees"..........thats super corny :D

It has a sponge applicator. The only problem is that you have to dip in a few times to get the needed amount of gloss to apply on to the lips. The applicator itself is very smooth and the product is not sheer but not pigmented enough. All of them contain really tiny golden shimmer particles and honestly this range reminds me of mac dazzleglass. The gloss has a very mild smell which is not overpowering and it vanishes after you put it on to the lips. Its hydrating enough and lasts for 3-4 hrs and then starts to fade(does it last 6 hrs........no way!!!). But it sure leaves an even stain on the lips and no worries about the shimmer being too prominent because its not! By the way these are marketed as plumping glosses but, I don't see any plumping effect and maybe it gives the illusion as its super shiny. The gloss is easy to remove. One can definitely layer it over lipsticks to give that additional shine as these glosses are not that opaque.

Lt to Rt:- Candyshine (a really nice deep pink shade with golden shimmer) and Coral shine ( a peachy - coral color....this one is perfect to layer over light lipsticks to give that additional shine)

Cost:- 375 Rs

Overall its a really good product and I am loving it and I would definitely recommend everyone to check these glosses out.

DOVE INTENSE REPAIR SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER

Dove has always been my "go to" hair care product and this is my favourite shampoo and conditioner. I used to use the old version of intense repair but now I use the new version with the savvy bottles.

The new Dove has fiber actives in it which is supposed to penetrate the hair and give it much more protection than the older version. Personally I don't find a huge difference with the shampoo but I do love the new conditioner a bit more than the older version.

This shampoo is just amazing on my hair. I have chemically treated, dry and damaged hair so, I need all the "intense repair" I can get :).

It is pearly white in color. The shampoo lathers really well and a little bit goes a long way. It has a pleasant smell and the shampoo doesn't strip your hair off its natural moisture. I do get the clean feeling but my hair doesn't get the "dried up" feeling when I wash the shampoo off. Now, that doesn't mean that you don't need a conditioner. When you have dry damaged hair always use a conditioner to infuse the moisture back in.

This conditioner works amazingly well and don't you just love the new, revamped packaging.....

The conditioner is just the right consistency. Not too thick or runny. It doesn't weigh my hair down but I wouldn't risk putting this near the roots as its very moisturising. No need to spend a long time in the shower trying to wash it off as it comes off quite easily. It leaves the hair really shiny and smooth. The hair feels really soft once its dry.

I love both the shampoo and the conditioner but if I need to pick one I would definitely pick the conditioner 'coz normally dove conditioners are a bit too thick.

Overall, its an amazing product for dry and damaged hair and it does put some life back into really damaged hair. Its easily available everywhere and the cost for the shampoo is Rs 117 for 200 ml and conditioner is Rs 160 for 200 ml.

Recommend:-Yes! If your hair agrees with dove products then do give this a shot, its totally worth it. This is my 4th time purchasing the "intense repair" line and first time I am using the "revamped" version with fiber actives in it :).

ILLAMASQUA NAILPOLISH BASE

Earlier I never used to use a nailpolish base. When I first saw this in the Illamasqua site I bought this out of sheer curiosity. Its pricey but its worth it :)

Its a flesh colored nailpolish that goes on real sheer on the nails.The formula is just the right consistency and it dries pretty fast.

Its a 15 ml nailpolsih and provides a really glossy finish even on its own.

The brush is just the perfect size and one swipe covers the whole of the nail. This base coat prevents the yellowing of nails to a great extent. No uncomfortable nailpolish smell.

In my opinion there is no major con except that its not available in India. I myself would have never purchased this but I was doing some extra purchase from their site when they had a free International shipping some time back.

Cost:-£10.00

Repurchase:- I don't know.....simply 'coz its not an easily available item and I might look for an alternative.

SECHE VITE TOP COAT

This is my second bottle of seche vite top coat and the fact that I repurchased this(I bought it from feelunique.com) shows as to how much I love this. This is a must have when I have my mani-pedi routine. I am so clumsy when it comes to keeping the nailpolish intact and this has been a life saver. I have used a lot of top coats and seche vite has been the best. It has its few cons but still its amazing. Read on to find more...

Its a 14 ml bottle and it lasts for a long time. The brush is really good and the perfect size as one swipe usually covers most of my nail.

Pros:-

Gives immense shine
Dries "SUPER" fast
A must have for clumsy & impatient people like myself to have the perfect mani-pedi
I love how it gives a smooth application with just one swipe
No more nailpolish smudging

Cons:-
Not available in India
Sometimes it tends to pull the nailpolish up a bit from the ends leaving a little bit of the ends devoid of any polish.
Some nailpolishes chip faster with this top coat on

Even with the above cons this remains my favourite top coat as it serves my purpose, it gives me a quick dry and immense shine when I do my mani and I receive a lot of compliments.

JERGENS ULTRA HEALING MOISTURISER

I have been using the Jergens Ultra Healing moisturiser for the past 3 years atleast and I wonder why I never thought of reviewing this product before! I always go through one bottle in just 2-3 months and so, this time, I bought the extra large bottle that comes with a pump which is sure going to last me for a long long time!

I have used the Jergens original moisturiser and it worked OK but after I found this one I have never stopped buying this. I have extra dry skin on my legs and my arms which needs some "extra" TLC all year and this just serves the purpose.

Sorry about the blurred pic (above), but I hope its still readable.

Pros:-
It does heal the skin true to its name within a week of its use
It locks down the moisture for a whole day or until you wash it off
Has a pleasant smell and its great for ladies with extra dry skin
Leaves the skin smooth ad supple
Great during winter too
The lotion is not too thick or liquidy
It gets absorbed completely into the skin without leaving the skin a greasy mess
For the 621 ml bottle I paid 459 Rs/-

Cons:-
Try not to sweat while applying the lotion as this might lead to a greasy mess
Sometimes it takes a little while to get completely absorbed into the skin, so make sure you give yourself some time before putting on clothes
Eventhough its marketed all over India, its a bit hard to find the "ultra healing" version of the moisturiser

Repurchase:-I will be purchasing this for the rest of my life as this is the only moisturiser that works wonders on my skin

Recommend:-Yup! Its a great product and I sure hope ladies with extra dry skin gives this a try. I am sure you won't be disappointed

MY FAVOURITE NIVEA LIPBALMS

Nivea has always been a favourite lipbalm for me 'coz of its easy availability and affordable price range. When they started coming out with tinted lipbalms I was totally sold! Today I will be talking about 3 of their lipbalms which I have repurchased time and time again!

Lt to Rt:- Essential care, Fruity shine, Hydro care

The Essential care lipbalm is perfect for winters and especially great if you have dry and chapped lips. Its extremely hydrating and moisturising. The balm is really thick and greasy. It reminds me of labello lipbalms in consistency and I purchased this when I ran out of my labello lipbalm and the sales lady told me this is a good alternative and she was right! I mostly use this when I am planning to exfoliate my lips. I pile this lipbalm on every 2- 3 hrs till evening and by that time all the dry peelers on my lips would have become really soft and I use a moist warm cloth to exfoliate my lips and all the dead skin just comes off without much tug & pull. This is a must have in my list as I use it regularly for exfoliating purposes.Ladies wit extra dry lips would love this and its a great lipbalm during winter. The only downside is that it becomes all gooey real soon even if its inside the tube. So, make sure you store it in a dry place.

This one is by far my favourite tinted lipbalm. Its cheap, easy to get a hold of, hydrating and just perfect for everyday wear. I love the shade "pomegranate" and I think this is my third tube. I first purchased it when I was a student and me being a doc was not allowed to wear really overpowering lip products and so this one was a great alternative. I used to have this in my bag all the time and still do. I use this on days when I don't like to wear a lot of makeup but still look presentable. Its great for pigmented lips like mine. The only downside, one has to reapply this every 2 hrs and if you are eating or drinking....poof...its gone! I don't mind the cons too much as this works as a great lipbalm which is the perfect shade for me. If you work in an environment where you can't put a load of makeup or if you are a student then try this. Its really amazing.

This is the lipbalm, nivea hydrocare, that I use when I am at home to keep my lips hydrated. This is also my favourite night time lipbalm. Its really moisturising, non greasy and great for dry lips. It doesn't have a weird taste or smell and that helps a lot. One can also use it underneath lipstick to keep the lips hydrated.

All of these nivea lipbalms cost under 100 rs ( I am not so sure about the tinted lipbalm....but it sure is affordable). All of these last a long time and they are worth buying.

DIOR SNOW SUNSCREEN

I have extremely oily skin so it has been a lifelong quest for me to find the "perfect" sunscreen that doesn't make my face extra sticky and greasy. Thinking back, I have spent a lot of money trying to find that "elusive" sunscreen and I am happy to finally announce that I have finally found it!!!! Anyone who has excess oil production on their face knows for one fact that oily skin gets oxidised pretty easily even without makeup and finally ends up looking dark and dull. Its very important to have sunscreen on to prevent tanning and hyperpigmentation, but, it was always at the cost of leaving my face an oil slick!NOT ANYMORE!!!! Introducing......... CHRISTIAN DIOR -DIORSNOW SUNSCREEN SPF 50 TRANSLUCENT.

This is just a sample size of 10 ml and the original tube comes in 30ml. I will explain as to why I have a sample size and not the full size. I first heard about this sunscreen from a blogger and I did my own research and I found that this particular sunscreen has excellent reviews. I decided to purchase it for myself but I was in for a surprise..........One tube of this lil fellow costs about 3000 rupees(30 ml tube, full size). I was aghast! That much money for a sunscreen..........thats just madness. I then searched a bit and finally found sample sizes on ebay and decided to give the sample a try. It cost me 600 rs including shipping to try this sample size, but believe me its sooooooooo worth it! I used it for around 3 weeks and understood that this is the HG sunscreen for my skin, and still I was in a dilemma.....its simply B***S*** to spend this much money on a single sunscreen and so I figured a way out. The seller from whom I had purchased the sample had a sale of dior products with the sample sizes of this sunscreen and I got myself 3 samples, 10 ml each and I paid a total of 1200 rs including shipping! How cool is that huh....

I haven't even opened the above samples yet as the one that I have opened is still going strong.

The opening is just large enough to provide the right amount when you squeeze the product out.

One needs only this much amount for the entire face.

Now lets move on to the pros and cons

Pro:-
-Excellent sunscreen for ladies with oily and extremely oily skin
-Will not leave a greasy look on the face
-Gives a matte finish and for me it kind of makes my skintone a bit even, No idea as to how this product does this, but it sure does!
-No freaky white cast
-No excessive sweating when you put the sunscreen on(some sunscreens makes me sweat a lot.....quite odd...I know)
-No unpleasant smell
-Spf 50 and it gives really good protection
-A little bit is needed for the whole face, so the tube lasts for a long long time
-Keeps my face looking fresh for atleast 4-5 hrs and after that I have to blot a bit....but no excess oil production is seen
-Helps my face to remain fresh and prevents darkening due to the oil production
-The texture of the cream is a bit sticky but it gets absorbed real fast
-I have had no sensitivity issues so far

Cons:-
Available only at Dior counters and online
Price might be a HUGE turn off for some

Recommend:- I DO! I DO! I DO! (sounds like a wedding lol). Do give this a try if you have the money to spare and suffer from oily skin like myself. Its really excellent!!!

Repurchase:- HELL YEAH!!!!!

I was going to go ahead and place an order when the company contacted me to do a review on their site and I was thrilled. I was on the look out for a good lip scrub and stumbled upon the lush lip scrub and I do have to admit that its great and yummy!!!!

How to use:- Rub a little gently into your lips to scrub them smooth and soft

Pros:-

It smells amazing! Its the smell that you get when you step into a lush store which I love!!!
It comprises of peppermint and chocolate
It tastes absolutely delicious ( I have to remind myself not to just eat it all up)
It has really tiny particles that are not abrasive and it just melts into your lips while scrubbing
Gives really smooth and supple looking lips
It contains lot of amazing oils in it which gives the lips extra softness
Cost- 600 rs which might seem a lot for the tiny tub but you need only a small amount each time so its gonna last a long long time

Cons:-

Availability might be an issue for some. But one can order it online from lush store India.
The price too can be a hindrance for some

Repurchase:- yes! I love the stuff.

The monsoons have taken a toll on my skin. I have really really really oily skin but during winter & monsoon seasons they tend to get dry patches on the forehead and cheeks and if I don't tend to it they start peeling and then leaves a nasty pigmentation behind. I have tried a lot of creams and in the past I used to use Dermalogica Booster but nowadays even that is not working. I have introduced my sis also to this new product and so far she is also loving it!!!! So, on to the review

I had read about this product in a lot of blogs and as I wanted to test it out first I bought a small sized tube of 15 ml to try it out.

Pros:-
Very nice tube packaging with the nozzle tip
The tip gives the correct amount of product when you squeeze the tube
Very hygienic
I used a very small amount on my cheeks and forehead and my flaky skin was gone about 90%!!!!!!
It has a waxy texture which sinks into the skin easily and does not leave an oily residue
After using it for just about 4 days my peeling skin was brought under control and now I have no peeling skin on my face at all.
No sensitivity issues
Adviced by leading cosmetic surgeons around the world after cosmetic peels and surgeries
Its really effective and definitely my HG!!! I absolutely love this
This small tube (15 ml) cost me 210 rs

Cons:-
Availability maybe an issue for some, but La Roche-Posay counters are present at health & glow stores and is also available online at B.Lab

TIPS & TOES NAILPOLISH REVIEW AND SWATCHES

Today I will be reviewing and putting up swatches of Tips & Toes nail polishes. I received them as a gift from my sis and am very happy to see these colors as I don't have 'em.

Pros:-
Loving the names and its a 9 ml bottle
The nail polish brush is pretty decent
The formula is not too runny
No bad nail polish smell
Easily available
Really cool & funky shades at affordable price
Color payoff is pretty good
Cost:-95 rs

Cons:-
Some of the shades required 5 coats to achieve the "perfect" look (hawaii, sydney, hongkong)
Not that chip resistant

Recommend:- yup! if you are some one on a budget or someone who likes to try bold & funky colors without breaking the bank then this is a good choice.

Today I would like to do a small review about an online store called "HealthKart" which was opened recently. When they contacted me to do a review I was more than happy as I am an avid online shopper and all the more excited as new online stores are cropping up in India which is a blessing for people who do not live in the metro cities.

I just made a small haul and here it is:-

Neutrogena hand cream, Revlon colorburst lipgloss in strawberry and a back up of my current favourite makeup remover VICHY. They also included a lakme eye pencil and neutrogena travel size cleanser as freebies.

Pros:-
A very elaborate site that contains beauty, personal and healthcare items
Its very easy to browse
Very nice and efficient customer service as they called me up to confirm my order
The shipping is really fast and its free all over India
They accept all forms of payment including Cash On Delivery
You receive a confirmation mail when you place an order and also when the order is shipped
They take orders online, on phone and by email
I found that they have lot of items on "health care" and "fitness"
All the items were packed neatly and the products are not verging on the expiry date
They provide a courier tracking number

Cons:-
The only con that I found is that they do not have too many beauty related items as the store is also focused on health & personal care items. But, nevertheless its a really good & reliable Indian Online Store

Recommend:-:Oh yes! Actually this is the second time I am purchasing from healthkart as I had already purchased once from them even before they contacted me to do a review and was happy to do it as I had such a pleasant time shopping there the first time.
