No door... I mean, people have to climb in. Actually, ANYBODY can climb in and steal it. Pffft!

No roof... The people who drive these things are left open to the elements. Like, even convertible cars have something you can pull over your head.

No radio (AM and FM), no cassette nor CD player... how boring it must be to drive in those things for close to two hours without having anything to listen to.

No heating... Being left open to the elements, the drivers' toes must become very cold after a while.

No coffee cup holder... Those guys can spill all the hot (and dangerous stuff) over themselves. What with them steering with one hand and trying to drink with the other.

No ashtrays and electric lighter...

No windshield wipers... and they expect them to race in the rain?

No windshields... Well, I guess no. 7 and 8 go hand in hand.

No turn signals... How can they indicate they intend to pass?

No headlights... No wonder they only drive in the day time.

Only one brake light...

Only one seat... How can a guy go necking with his girlfriend at the local drive in?

No anchor for a baby seat... And they are trying to make us believe that safety comes first?

Un bărbat e adus în fata judecătorului pentru ca a omorât-o pe sotia lui.
- Fapta dumneavoastră e sub orice critică. Dacă aveti intentia ca tribunalul să nu vă condamne la închisoare pe viată, trebuie sa ne expuneti motive cât de cât plauzibile care sa va poate reduce pedeapsa.
- Domnule judecător, sotia mea era asa de proasta încât nu am putut să mă controlez si a trebuit să o arunc de la balcon.
- Declaratia dumneavoastră este o obrăznicie nemaiauzită si dacă nu doriti ca juratii să vă condamne înainte să continuăm procesul trebuie să aveti argumente cu adevărat plauzibile.
- Pai sa va povestesc. Locuim într-un bloc cu 10 etaje la ultimul etaj si la parter locuieste o familie de pitici. Părintii au 1 metru și copii, cel de 12 ani 70 de cm și cel de 14 ani are 90 de cm .
- În ziua respectiva i-am spus sotiei:
- E teribil sa fii pitic. Săracii vecini de la parter, toti sunt asa mici!
-Da, răspunde sotia sunt o adevărată specie de pirinei.
- Pigmei ai vrut sa spui!
- Nu, pigmei e ceea ce are omul în piele si de la care se alege cu pistrui.
- Aia se numeste pigment.
- Ma lasi ? Pigment e chestia aia pe care scriau vechii romani.

- Domnule judecător, va închipuiti ca mi-am înghitit cuvântul „fragment“ ca sa nu mai continui discutia asta aberanta. M-am asezat pe fotoliu si am luat un ziar sa-l răsfoiesc. Nici nu m-am asezat bine ca apare sotia mea lângă mine cu o carte în mana si îmi spune:
- Uite dragă, asta e ceea ce scrie un scriitor si se numeste carte , dacă nu aveai idee ce e aia. Ia si citeste Veranda de la Pompadur.
Iau carte în mână si îi spun “Draga mea, asta e o carte în limba franceză Marchiza de Pompadour, nu trebuie să interpretezi numele în română” .

- Asta e bună dragă, îmi dai tu lectii de franceză, mie care am făcut meditatii cu un vector de la facultate !!
- Ăla nu se numeste vector, se numeste lector.
- Esti prost, Lector a fost un erou grec din antichitate.
- Ala a fost Hector și era troian.
- Hector e unitate de măsura a suprafatei blegule.
- Ala e hectar draga mea.
- Ma uimesti cu incultura ta. Hectar e o băutura a zeilor.

Ora 7:00 -Suna ceasul.Cobor pe scaunelul de langa pat , apoi de pe scaunel sar jos. Am uitat sa opresc alarma.Ma urc pe scaunel, de pe scaunel in pat, de pe pat pe noptiera si opresc ceasul. Vreau sa sar de pe noptiera, dar cand ma uit in jos ametesc. Cobor exact cum am urcat.
Ora 7:15 -Ma duc la baie. Nu ma barbieresc nici azi ca nu ajung la oglinda.
Ora 7:30 -Ma urc pe calorifer si ma uit pe geam.Astazi nu ploua. Ma bucur enorm.Si asa nu ajungeam sa iau umbrela de pe cuier.
Incep sa ma imbrac.Imi pun bretele la pantalonii de costum fiindca iar nu imi gasesc cureaua de la ceas.Imi pun papionul. Nu mai port cravata fiindca ieri era sa cad pentru ca am calcat pe ea.
Ora 7:45 -Suna cineva la usa . E SPP -istul. Nu i-am vazut fata pentru ca nu ma pot uita pe vizor. Ma uit pe gaura cheii si il recunosc dupa ceas.
Ora 8:00 -Plec de acasa. Ajung din bratzele SPP-istului in masina.Astazi stau in spate. Ieri am stat in fata si mi-au ramas urme pe obraz de la centura.
SPP-istul conduce. Eu nu conduc pentru ca nu pot sa apas pe pedale, si sa ma uit peste volan in acelasi timp.
Ora 8:30 -Ajung in fata guvernului.Sar din masina si trec strada.Cad intr-o groapa de pe sosea.Il sun pe Berceanu sa vina sa ma scoata. Daca nu era el, nu era nici groapa asta.Daca ma mai enerveaza odata il demit. Inca nu am uitat ca la inaugurarea autostrazii Turda-Gilau, cand a vrut sa taie panglica mi-a taiat motzul.
Ora 8:45 -Intru in sediul guvernului.Astazi avem petrecerea de sfarsit de an.Canta Cleopatra Stratan.Vreau sa danzez. Udrea nu mai danseaza cu mine fiindca e suparata ca la bluesuri, cand stau aproape de ea ii pot vedea pe sub fusta. Dansez cu Cleopatra.
-Apoi canta Adrian Minune.Deja ma simt mai bine pentru ca pot privi si eu pe cineva “de sus”.
Ora 13:00 -Mi se face sete.Ma duc la bar, si vreau sa comand. Il sun pe barman pentru ca nu pot sa il vad fiind de cealalta parte a tejghelei.
Beau cateva pahare si ma ametesc.
Ora 18:00 -Plec de la petrecere cu Basescu cu loganul. Sunt deja cinci si ma ia in portbagaj.

Ora 19:00 -Ajung in fata blocului.Urc in lift, apas butonul etajului 3. Apoi mai urc pe scari inca trei etaje. Eu stau la 6, dar in lift nu ajung sa apas decat pana la butonul etajului 3.E intuneric pe scara blocului si iar ma lovesc cu capul de clantza. Desi avem lumina cu senzori, nu inteleg de ce la mine nu se aprinde niciodata.
Ora 20:00 -Termin cina si ies putin sa plimb cainele. Am un bishon pe care l-am luat de curand. Ciobanescul l-am vandut dupa ce m-a luat in gura si a incercat sa ma ingroape in gradina blocului.
Ora 21:30 -Ma pregatesc de culcare.Nepotelul se razbuna pentru ca iar i-am purtat pantofii si imi piteste scaunelul de langa pat.Adorm pe covor.

Counterfeit Coin/Marble Problem

You have 12 marbles, one of them is either heavier or lighter than the rest. In three weighs on a balance scale, you must determine which is the odd marble. How do you do this?

Solutions

You weigh two groups of four. If there's an imbalance, you take three from the elevated group (it can be from the heavier group, but let's keep it simple) and put them in the lower group - replacing three of the lower ones in that group. You take three from the unweighed group and put them in the elevated tray. If the trays now keep the same imbalance, then you know the marble in the lower tray that was not replaced, and the marble in the elevated tray that was not replaced, together contain a heavy or light marble. If that's the case, you weigh one of these marbles against a normal one to see if it is heavy, normal, or light. Keeping in mind which tray (elevated or lower) you took it from, you can tell from that weighing the final status of the marble (or its counterpart) straightforwardly enough. If the two groups become balanced, then you know the three you took from the lower tray has a heavy marble. If that's the case, see RULE OF THREE below. If the balance reverses, then you know the three marbles transferred from the elevated to the lower tray contains a light marble. If that's the case, see the RULE OF THREE below. General Scenario Two: You weigh two groups of four. If there's a balance, then you know the four unweighed marbles contain a heavy or light one. You replace three of the normal marbles in one of the trays with three of the unweighed marbles. If the tray with the new replacements sinks, you know the three replacements contain a heavy marble. If it becomes elevated, then you know they contain the light marble. If either's the case, go to RULE OF THREE below. If the trays remain even, then you know the last unweighed marble is heavy or light. If that's the case, just weigh it with a normal marble to determine its status. RULE OF THREE: Once you determine a specific quality (heavy or light) for a group of 3, a single weighing of one marble against the other (leaving one out) is made. If the two marbles are even, then the one left out has the quality (heavy or light) determined for that group. If the two marbles are uneven, then the elevated marble is light (if light was determined for that group) or the heavier marble is heavy (if heavy was determined for that group).

After trouble- shooting for magnets and heat failed to diagnose the problem, it was found that the customer labeled the diskettes then rolled them into the typewriter to type the labels.

4. Another AST customer was asked to send a copy of her defective diskettes. A few days later a letter arrived from the customer along with Xeroxed copies of the floppies.

5. A Dell technician advised his customer to put his troubled floppy back in the drive and close the door. The customer asked the tech to hold on, and was heard putting the phone down, getting up and crossing the room to close the door to his room.

6. Another Dell customer called to say he couldn't get his computer to fax anything. After 40 minutes of trouble-shooting, the technician discovered the man was trying to fax a piece of paper by holding it in front of the monitor screen and hitting the "send" key.

7. Yet another Dell customer called to complain that his keyboard no longer worked. He had cleaned it by filling up his tub with soap and water and soaking the keyboard for a day, then removing all the keys and washing them individually.

8. A Dell technician received a call from a customer who was enraged because his computer had told him he was "bad and an invalid". The tech explained that the computer's "bad command" and "invalid" responses shouldn't be taken personally.

9. An exasperated caller to Dell Computer Tech Support couldn't get her new Dell Computer to turn on. After ensuring the computer was plugged in, the technician asked her what happened when she pushed the power button. Her response, "I pushed and pushed on this foot pedal and nothing happens." The "foot pedal" turned out to be the computer's mouse.

10. Another customer called Compaq tech support to say her brand-new computer wouldn't work. She said she unpacked the unit, plugged it in, and sat there for 20 minutes waiting for something to happen. When asked what happened when she pressed the power switch, she asked "What power switch?"

11. True story from a Novell NetWire SysOp:

Caller: "Hello, is this Tech Support?"
Tech: "Yes, it is. How may I help you?"
Caller: "The cup holder on my PC is broken and I am within my warranty period. How do I go about getting that fixed?"
Tech: "I'm sorry, but did you say a cup holder?"
Caller: "Yes, it's attached to the front of my computer."
Tech: "Please excuse me if I seem a bit stumped, It's because I am. Did you receive this as part of a promotional, at a trade show? How did you get this cup holder? Does it have any trademark on it?"
Caller: "It came with my computer, I don't know anything about a promotional. It just has '24X' on it."

At this point the Tech Rep had to mute the caller, because he couldn't stand it. The caller had been using the load drawer of the CD-ROM drive as a cup holder, and snapped it off.
