Recently I had the opportunity to connect with some of the most stylish people in the area for a collaborative photo shoot done by Dimitri Williams Photography. I have to say, not only were these some of the most stylish people I have met by that were fun as well! April - What Would April Wear?

Meet April from Durham, NC she's a Fashion Editor, TV Style Expert & Fashion & Beauty CEO. Her style is described as edgy glam. You'll find her wearing a sequin skirt with a graphic t or a leather jacket, distressed jeans and designer pumps. Her advice for getting an edgy glam look: look for classic glam silhouettes like an a-line skirt and details in leather, denim or dark lace for an edgy spin. It can really be challenging to put together a look entirely from a thrift store but it can be even more of a challenge to make it work as one unique look. Check out this look I put together that is almost all thrift shop finds. Also, don't forget to subscribe to my blog as I plan to post ever week for all of 2016!

The green blazer and tie was located at a local Goodwill. The lapel flower I created myself and the shirt I did by brand new from Macy's. There is no substitution for a crisp white shirt!

The pocket round I already had in my collection. They are perfect to create a bit of interest.

By far this is one of my favorite shoe makers, visit Magnanni to check out their full line up of shoes. I was able to locate this pair at a local consignment shop in Raleigh, NC called Revolver. The trousers I also located at local Goodwill.

We wanted to bring a fresh and unique look to some really unexpected locations in Raleigh. Bedroom Sophistication and Simplicity

The title says it all, Sophistication and Simplicity! What else do you really need in a great bedroom decor? It all starts with great bedding! Your bed is what takes up the most visual and floor space in the room so why not outfit it with a great duvet (which is easier to clean and can be switch out easy) and accent it with pops of color. I like using a white or neutral duvet cover and then pick up color in the pillows and throw blankets. White or neutral bedding always reminds me of staying in a modern resort or boutique hotel. You can even switch out the pillows to change with the season or even mood. Check out some of the items I found that will add some simple sophistication to any room!

It is no secret that I love a vintage suit. It's just something about them that can create such a unique look. I found this vintage hounds-tooth suit at a thrift store and it was pretty dated with wide, bell-bottom trousers and the jacket was a little large in the torso area. So what did I do? I dropped it off at my local tailors and they were able to convert the trousers to straight leg and they took the suit in on the sides and back. For my #OOTD I took a more causal approach with my look (causal for me anyways). One thing I really like is that it is comfortable and stylish at the same time. And of course this is almost all entirely thrifted! Check out the details below.

You can easily pair jeans with a blazer just as long as you remember to wear a tailored jean. It gives more of a polished look along with being causal.

This blue wool blazer is very comfortable and is one of my thrifted finds from Ralph Lauren. The paisley shirt is also a thrifted find from Express. The lapel pin is handmade by myself :-)!

The shoes are not thrifted but still one of my favorites. The are blue paisley slippers from Ted Baker that I picked up from Nordstrom. The grey Levi's are from Macy's.

Remember that you can always dress down your dapper look by switching out traditional trousers with tailored jeans and switch out your dress shirt with a fun patterned dress shirt.
