The “Roswell Slide” Placard Test

Ok, some friends ask to us privately and in public if we had success in the decipher of the infamous "Roswell Slides" Placard, with the clear results like the “The Roswell Slides Research Group

This is result of our placard decipher and what we done, step by step.

We started from the originals High Res Scan that Jaime Maussan kindly send privately to us for analysis and scientific study: we do not started from the low level images there are around in Internet. It’ s important to use original scan because every time an image is manipulated, enhanced and then saved in jpeg, there is a severe loss in information, so we start from the first generation, unretouched images. Original scan were HUGE in dimension, (2,74 gb) so we cropped only the placard and downsize to a more usable format.

We than use the software “SmartDeblur 2.3 HOME version” and make some test on it, and find some words in the lower line ( “San Francisco California” ) but it was not so good as the Image of “The Roswell Slides Research Group.

Then we saw the video of Lance Moody of the “Roswell Slide Group” where he showed the process they used, step by step here:

They used the SmartDeblur PRO, that has some more feature of our version, like the possibility to load of a “custom blur map” to better refine the automatic deblur of the software.

Our version let only draw the custom blur map: so we draw by hand the map, trying to replicate the deblur map they used. Not a very precise work, we admit, was more a quick test of a proof of concept. With a little effort (10 minutes) EUREKA! The placard was decipher and we could clear read the famous phrase “mummified body of two year old boy.”

Everyone could try, it works too with low-level images of the placard that are around in internet.
