LACTO CALAMINE DEEP CLEANSING FACE WASH

Price-Came free with Mum's bottle of lacto calamine so cant say.

Quantity-50 ml

What the pack says- Discover skinsurence with LC deep cleansing face wash.Enriched with vitamin E and raspberry extracts,it gives your skin 4 key benefits.

Deep cleansing.
Removes excess oil
Pore Tightening
Anti-oxidant protection

Directions for use-Apply a small quantity of gel on face and neck.Work up a lather.Rinse off.If gel gets into eyes,rinse well with water.For best results use daily along with Lacto Calamine classic.

My experience with it

This one is a purple colored gel face wash with a strong smell of raspberry.When applied on face it lathers well,gives a mild minty sensation and smell which feels refreshing.It cleanses face well and mite be the perfect face wash for people looking for a freshening effect from their face washes..It definitely did not dry out my combination skin and kept its oil balanced for quite a while.However I can't say much about its pore tightening and anti oxidant protection claim as I hadn't seen any such effect during my usage time.

Would I buy it again -Maybe in the winter months if I finish this tube by then.

NEUTROGENA DEEP CLEAN FACIAL CLEANSER(normal to oily skin)

Price-Rs 85 for 50 ml

What the pack says-Neutrogena deep clean cleans so deeply and thoroughly that it improves the look and feel of the skin.Skin is left clean with no pore clogging residue.your complexion looks fresh and healthy,feels smooth and soft from deep within.

Oil free
Alcohol free
Dermatologist tested

Ingredient list-

Sodium laureth sulphate
Sodium cocoamphoacetate
Cocamidopropyl betaine

Directions for use- Wet face,pour into hands and work into a lather.Massage face gently avoiding contact with the delicate eye area.Rinse thoroughly.If you experience dryness or irritation use less frequently.

My experience with it-

This particular face-wash was prescribed to me by my doctor when I was having a sudden outbreak of pimples all over my face.It is a clear runny face wash that lathers well in contact with water.It(along with my other medication) cleared out my pimples within a weak and I was indeed left with clean and healthy skin.It works well as a regular cleanser too and leaves skin feeling clean without any slippery residue or dryness.However it refuses to lather much on an oily face and doesn't exactly offer the squeaky clean feeling after a hard day with all the city's dirt and grime on your face(o_o from personal experience). This 1 fairs well as a daily use face wash for combination skin specially for the days when I have those occasional pimples..

Would I buy it again-Yes,definitely.Since it works efficiently to clean sudden breakouts.

My Collection of Face Washes-Part 1

I realized I have been MIA in my blog page for quite a while now and a collection of quick reviews wouldn't be such a bad way to get back at it.Yesterday I noticed that I'm using 5 different face washes for some time and hence it would be a good time to review them..

Here's a snap of my facial cleansers-

As mentioned in my introduction post before,I have combination sensitive skin.Most of the face washes either dry out my skin or give me pimples on my forehead and nose.I am yet to find my HG face wash.but these 5 serve the purpose of cleansing satisfactorily.Here's my take on them-

PONDS PURE WHITE DEEP CLEANSING FACIAL FOAM

Price-Rs 75 for 50 gms

What the pack says--Ponds introduces new skin cleansing philosophy with Activated Carbon.Activated carbon in known to easily absorb and lift away the dirt and impurities from skin surface and deep within the pores.Cleanses your skin thoroughly to give your natural pure white looking skin.

Directions for use- Wet your face,foam the cleanser,apply to the face with gentle massage and rinse off.In case of contact with eyes,rinse with water immediately.

My experience with it-

It is a grey colored thick foamy facewash that lathers well and cleans dirt and oil effectively after a sweaty day in a hot,humid city. Just a pea size amount gives u that squeaky clean feeling.Smells pretty nice too.However,it is a lil too drying for my cheeks & dries the entire face during winter months.Oily skinned people can definately benifit from this as keeps oil at bay for quite a long time.

Should I buy it again-Yes,during the summer months if I'm finished with this tube by them..

LOTUS HERBALS SUNSCREEN FACE WASH GEL

Price-Rs 99 for 80g

What the pack says-Contains an innovative sunscreen agent,invented recently containing grapes and plums.

Grapes-Deep pore cleansing and normalizing PH balance on skin.

Plums-Helps deposit sunscreen agent on skin and imparting a smooth and silky feel to the skin.

Directions for use-Before you apply sunblock cream/lotion,Wash face with this sparkling gel.Sqeeze a small quantity on palm.Apply on face and work out lather. Rinse off. Pat Dry.

Ingredients-Only active ingredients are mentioned :-(

p-Methoxy Cinnaomidopropyldimethyllaurel Ammonium Tosylate, Peg-12,Dimethicone Disodium EDTA

(Where are the grapes and plums? o_O Aren't they supposed to be active too? O_o)

My experience with it-

Its a sparkling yellowish light orange colored gel with fine glitters in it.Lathers moderately.Does very gentle cleaning and not appropriate if u are using this for heavy duty cleansing.It has a medicinal smell with a citrus hint which doesn't last for long after the wash.Neither pleasing nor displeasing for my nose.This does leave a yellowish film on the face as per its claim which makes the face look brighter for some time.Also,the facial skin does feel smother after using this.

I can't clarify its sun protection claims as I use sunscreen separately and never have gone out after using only this on my face.

Should I buy this again-Not for the time being.I need to finish my other face washes first..

NATUROMA Herbals Apricot Facial Scrub Review

Since I stated this blog in winter,I thought of reviewing winter essentials first.We all know the importance of scrubs in this dry and cold weather so I'd not get into that..To begin with I chose my most economical scrub.Its called Naturoma Herbals-Apricot Facial scrub.This is what the tube looks like-

Quantity-100g

Price- Rs 65

What it says-
With ageing,the upper cells of the skin become dull and keep drying.Naturoma Apricot Facial Scrub removes layers of dull and dying cells along with black heads.This excellent scrub reveals the more young and radiant look of you.Makes skin smooth healthy and glowing.

Direction:- Wet face and neck.Apply Naturoma Apricot Facial scrub all over and massage gently with wet fingers in both clockwise and anti clockwise direction.Rinse thoroughly.Follow with Naturoma Rosemary and Almond moisturising lotion.

Here's wot it looks like-

My experience with it-The first time I squeezed it out on my palm,I was happy with the soft fruity smell and the density of the granules.But at the same time the size of the granules did manage to scare me.I didn't dare to rub it on my facial skin as per the directions,instead I smoothed it gently like a pack,left it there for 5 min's and then wiped it off with wet cotton...And Voila!! I was looking at my Fresh soft radiant skin.No dry stretchy feeling and no patchy skin.When used on my body skin (this time I rubbed a bit) it removed the dead cells well and I could feel the improvement in the texture of my skin.Best of all,it lightened the tan on my arms and feet..

Pros-

Smells nice n fruity (not overpowering or artificial)
Is quite cheep at Rs 65 for 100 g
Densely Packed granule
Exfoliates well (heavy duty)
Lightens Tan
Can double as a Body scrub
Readily available in Kolkata.

Cons-

Size of the granules(huge).It could irritate and scratch sensitive skin.
Misleading directions.
No ingredient list.

Verdict-Well,I like it cause it does what claims and removes tan,but then the absence of the ingredient list is quite disturbing.I'd like to know what I am putting on my skin.

Will I purchase again-I' m on my 3rd tube.But I plan to try the St Ives scrub next so maybe not.

Introduction

Hello there..I am a 20 something girl from Kolkata who recently realized that she has a passion for all things pretty..and that she has to make some use of all the stuff she's been buying(Make up,Skin care and jewelry) with her Oh..so little pocket money(that's one major disadvantage of being a college student o_o)
I may occasionally crib and rant about my life in this blog but mostly I'll be doing reviews of stuff I have bought and used..Here's a small intro of my skin type and other useful information relevant to it-

I have a combination dry sensitive skin that gets oily in summer.Don't have major acne but get occasional pimples on cheeks( I get some on those days O_o) and forehead after getting my brows plucked..
Have changed parlours and consulted dermatologists but nothing helped >-<..Good thing they recede after a while by themselves...
My body skin is sensitive n dry...

I have wheatish skin and a yellow undertone to it.Don't use much make up on a daily basis,but do not go out without a coat of sun protection all over...Me adds up a lip balm to it during winters...
