As you guys might have already found out on Instagram, I've been tea-toxing!

So, first of all, what is tea-toxing ? It seems like everyone is talking about tea-tox and is doing some kind of tea-toxing at the moment, but why? Well, tea-tox is basically just a new way to detox by using tea, of course in combination with a healthy balanced diet and exercise. The ingredients of tea-tox teas help to encourage your metabolism and flushes out toxins of your body. There’s evidence that drinking flavonoid-rich tea protects your heart, skin, brain, and bones and helps you to manage stress and maintain weight. Of course a tea-tox is not going to work wonders and will make you lose weight just by drinking a cup of tea twice a day, but in combination with a balanced diet and physical training, it can help you to lose weight more easily.

I've wanted to try some kind of tea-tox for quite some time (inspired by my Instagram feed, where nearly everyone is tea-toxing), but as I couldn't find any tea with listed ingredients I hesitated and decided to drink my metabolism stimulating tea from the pharmacy. Now some of you guys might think, why is she tea-toxing !?!? She does't need to loose weight! Due to some comments on Instagram, I know that some of you might think like that....

* Alcohol, coffee, soft drinks, fat meat, salt, sugar, dairy products, and white flour should NOT be part of your diet during your 14 day detox.

* I just sticked to my regular clean diet, but cut out the coffee, meat and dairy products. As I actually don't really like alcohol and only have some on very special occasions, it wasn't hard for me to cut that out:)

* I've also experienced a little weight loss (1-1.5kg), which could also be due to less appetite (because of hot summer temperatures) or the normal weight variation.

* As some of the ingredients of the teas have a laxative effect, you might have a sudden urge to use a toilet.

* I have exercised as usual, which means 5-6 times per week.

* My skin condition definitely has improved and looks more even and a little bit more

'glowy' now. I can notice that less spots have broken out in those two weeks and this still lasts.

Wohoo as I already told you, this june is going too be a-m-a-z-i-n-g! Some great new projects are coming up and on Wednesday we are off to a short vacay in Tuscany.

We'll stay in one of Italy's most luxurious hotels, Borgo Santo Pietro. I'll keep you updated on Instagram and Facebook next week and of course I'll write a detailed review about this exquisite romantic hotel when I'm back home.

Last summer when we spent our summer holiday in Tuscany, I fell in love this delightful part of Italy. I felt so incredibly happy there, daily life is just so slowed down, and everyone enjoys life to the full, it seems like I've found the place where I would like to spent my remaining years when I'm old.

I absolutely love almond butter and top different foods with it to give it the special something, such as my oatmeals and fruits. If I suddenly find myself starving when I forget to eat or when I have the craving for something sweet, I actually eat a spoonful or two of almomd butter and it fills me up and satisfies my cravings ;) Pretty great - isn't it ? ;)

A few days ago I tried to make almond butter at home, this is super easy and has been a total success.

Everything you'll need for your own homemade almond butter - amonds, a food processor and patience, patience and patience!

I used husked almonds and roasted them for about 10 minutes at about 200 degrees.

* Place the almonds in a food processor. Secure the lid and allow to process for 20-30 minutes, stopping and scraping down the sides as needed throughout the process.

* The almond butter is ready with the oils have released and the resulting butter is very smooth and creamy-- this takes more time than you'd expect, so be patient!

* Transfer the almond butter to a sealed glass jar, and store in the fridge for best shelf life.

* Be creative and top your favorite fruits, oatmeals etc. with it and enjoy the healthy yumminess!!!

Let's talk about water and why it's so important for our bodies.

First of all, water is the main component of our bodies. In fact, the human body is composed of 55% to 78% of water depending on body size. An adequate and regular water consumption has a lot of health benefits as it has no calories, no fat, no carbohydrates, no sugar. All health experts recommend drinking at least eight to ten glasses of water a day, which would be about 2 liters, in order to maintain good health. On the 24th of April the 6th annual Vienna Awards for Fashion & Lifestyle with many special guests, such as COCO ROCHA, TOMASO TRUSSARDI, MICHELLE HUNZIKER AND VALERIA CAMPBELL took place.

An event which is honoring the best designers, the best newcomers, stylists, make-up artists, photographers, models and journalists.

I was totally honored to be invited to this glamorous event and a little bit nervous that night, due to the fact that a friend of mine and my favorite Austrian designer, Katrin Kafka, was among the three nominees for the STEFFL BEST NEWCOMER AWARD.
We were lucky enough that our ''Blogger Table'' was directly in front of the stage and that Coco Rocha was just sitting at the table next to us, more precisely she was sitting back to back with me ;)
Coco Rocha also received the Style Icon of the Year award and held one of the loveliest thank-you -speeches ever.
To sum it up - a perfect gala night spent with other lovely bloggers ( Edisa, Maria, Anna H., Sophie, Kathi, Vicky, Anna & Hristina ) & celebrities.

Since I've seen the famous Sex and the City episode where Carrie wears this gorgeous pale tiffany blue tulle skirt, I wanted to wear such a skirt. One of the first things that come to my mind when I think of Carrie Bradshaw is tulle, tulle, tulle and even more tulle and of course all the amazing dresses and skirts. So guess what was my first thought when I saw this stunning skirt by Katrin Kafka ;)

Well, this skirt definitelly isn't an everyday piece and there might only be a few occasions to wear it, but alone because of that exceedingly great feeling wearing this piece, it's so worth its salt.

CHIA SEED PUDDING

Finally here is the highly requested recipe for the chia seed pudding.

Well, first of all, let's talk about those "magic" seeds ;)

It seems like everyone is talking about chia seeds at the moment and models and "fitnessgurus" top their smoothies , oatmeals and salads with them.

No, they don't only top their foods with them just because they look cute and add the special something, of course they do because of all the health benefits ;) They're supposed to help control hunger while they enhance your diet with super-nutrients.

"Chia is an edible seed that comes from the desert plant Salvia hispanica, grown in Mexico dating back to Mayan and Aztec cultures. "Chia" means strength, and folklore has it that these cultures used the tiny black and white seeds as an energy booster. That makes sense, as chia seeds are a concentrated food containing healthy omega-3 fatty acids, carbohydrates, protein, fiber, antioxidants, and calcium. "

Those tiny seeds are an unprocessed, whole-grain food that can be absorbed by our bodies as seeds (unlike flaxseeds). About 2 tablespoons contain 139 calories, 4 grams of protein, 9 grams fat, 12 grams carbohydrates and 11 grams of fiber, plus vitamins and minerals.

Chia seeds definitelly won't magically help you to loose weight.Well, don't expect any changes in that case.

Enjoy the seeds for their flavor and to boost the fiber, protein, calcium, antioxidants, and omega-3s in your diet. But don't expect a big weight loss boost.

Unfortunately, there is no magic seed for weight loss. If you want to lose weight, you'll need to follow a healthy, calorie-controlled diet and move your body;)

THE RECIPE :

2 - 2 1/2 tablespoons chia seeds

1/2 cup almond milk

1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract or cinnamon

a pinch of salt10 drops of stevia

In a small bowl combine all the ingredients. Give it a good stir and refrigerate for at least one hour. After thirty minutes give the mixture a stir, so it doesn't clump together.

I prepared the pudding in the evening and enjoyed it as a breakfast. The chia seeds can tranform into this gel-like structure over night and you'll only have to top the pudding with your favorite fruits and nuts in the morning.

Congratulations! (I'm super proud of you and can't wait for the final gala ;))

Katrin is one of the most talented and inspirational people I know, who lives her dream of being a designer with perfection and determination. After studying in Milan and working for Dolce&Gabbana and Versace for a couple of years she came back to Austria and set up her own label, called katrin kafka® . About 4 years ago we met and worked together for the first time, as I've been one of the models for her first lookbook shooting and since then we've collabortated many times . All her designs captivate with elegance, individuality, unique combinations of fabrics and sublime tailoring skills.

Her newest ready to wear collection under the slogan ''UNIQUE - no mass production and mainstream - individuality and fair produtcion counts!'', is consisting of wonderful ready to wear pieces made with love and dedication in her studio.

Last Saturday we spent a wondeful spring day in Ljubljana. As Carinthia (where my parents live and I partly do ) is the most southerly province of Austria and the borders of Italy and Slovenia are just around the corner, we love the make some short weekend day trips to those countries. That's what I actually love to call quality of living, don't get me wrong, I love Vienna and it definitelly is one of the most wonderful cities for me and the quality of living is high there, but as I'm really bound to southern countries, I sometimes prefer Carinthia for that fact.

Spring has arrived and you can smell, feel and see it everywhere - oh, how I love that!

I finally had the chance to wear my new spring coat for the first time and matched it with my favorite sneakers - (you all know which sneakers I'm talking about) the snake print slip-on sneakers;)

During our stroll around the city a photographer of Cosmopolitan Slovenia took some pretty cool photos of us for the streetstyle section of the magazine. The picture above has already been published on the website of Cosmopolitan Slovenia and as the photographer told us our picture will also be published in the next issue of the magzaine. Well, let's see.

SPRINGISH MACARONS ♡

Last week I made some mouthwatering macarons in springish pastel colors! It's actually a fact, that they are not healthy and might just stick to our hips, the moment we bite into them, but sometimes an unhealthy indulgence benefits your soul!;)

I try to stick to my healthy, "clean eating" diet 80-90% and sometimes such an "unhealthy" treat, is just perfect, so when my body craves for something like that, I just give it to him ;) If you stick to a healthy diet, and workout on a regular basis, an unhealthy treat won't ruin your shape, it can help you to prevent bingeing, benefits your soul and also gives your metabolism a "little kick" to work harder;) ( but keep in mind, these sweet little macarons are also very nutritious! An average sized macaron gives you almost 97 calories, and that's for the size of 2.5cm diameter per piece ;) )

I absolutely love to match different styles and create a unique look. HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY THE18THDISTRICT!

Oh wow, time flies, I can hardly believe it, but THE18THDISTRICT turns two today!

Two years ago, after puzzling over the challenging idea of starting my own blog and after a long and careful consideration - I did it, I started THE18THDISTRICT.

The past two years have truly been so wonderful and it's quite hard to believe that my beloved blog already turns two today.

Well, of course my blog wasn't the first styleblog and due to the fact that I live in Austria (which isn't the biggest and most fashionable country), starting this adventure wasn't that easy, thanks to the users on various online fashion platforms like chicisimo, chictopia, stylight and lookbook, the blog already caught the attention of fashionistas from all over the world and some of my outfits were featured on nytimes.com, vogue.es, elle.uk, InStyle, Woman Magazine, Madonna Magazine, Ootd MAGAZINE, Streetstyleseconds, to name but a few.
I had the chance to start many wonderful collaborations (with H&M Austria, Jacques Lemans, Welovefurs, Miano, Equa, to name just a few9, I got the chance to write my own story in Woman magazine, attended Fashion Week, got invitations to many different events and met people I would have never had the chance to meet without my blog,

After two years of blogging and sharing my passions and looks, I can say, starting this adventure has definitely been the right decision.

I want to thank you all, from the bottom of my heart for your support, your likes on facebook, Instagram, Facebook. Twitter & co and for all your lovely and supporting emails and comments.

HEALTHY BREAKFAST - OATMEAL

Finally I found some time to write a highly requested post about my daily breakfast.

Many girls on Instagram and via email ask me how I prepare my breakfast and how it benefits my healthy and clean eating lifestyle.

You all, mainly the part of you guys, who have been following me for quite a while now, know that I study nutritional sciences and that I'm an absolute fitness and healthy food freak.

If you already follow me on Instagram, where I also post my healthy meals, you might have noticed that I never skip my breakfast, which definitely is the most important meal of the day.

Many people don't have a breakfast at all, but as studies have shown breakfast should be the most important meal of the day, and guys, I can tell you, it really is. People give a variety for reasons for not eating breakfast, common reasons are that they are not hungry or have no time, they think they might gain weight and there are many other reasons. But what really happens if you skip your breakfast in the long run is, that you more likely tend to gain weight. Research studies tell us, that people who eat breakfast are more likely to maintain a healthy weight.

Skipping breakfast is a common strategy by people who are trying to lose weight, but that definitely mostly isn't a successful strategy. When you skip breakfast you might feel so hungry by lunch time that you eat more foods than you normally would, which cancels out the calories which you cut by skipping breakfast. ( heck out my post about healthy breakfast here, for more information)

What I would really like to talk about today, is my favorite kind of breakfast, my heavenly-tasting oatmeal.

A few years ago, I would have rather chosen some unhealthy kind of muesli instead of choosing a more healthy breakfast, like oatmeal (what's called ''Haferschleim'' in German and I could have never imagined eating something that already sounds that disgusting ;)) or oats with yoghurt and fruits,

Now it has become some kind of daily routine to prepare my oatmeal (especially in the colder month).

So let's talk about the health benefits of oatmeal and why you should definitely give it a try.

Oatmeal contains insoluble fiber (fiber is the portion of plant materials in the diet which humans cannot digest) which stays in the stomach longer and helps you feel fuller, longer. This can prevent overeating later on in the day, which may help you maintain a healthy weight and avoid the healthy problems associated with overweight.

This fiber in oats also as many health benefits. Eating just a half cup of oatmeal a day is enough to reap the health benefits.

One cup of oatmeal contains about 150 calories, 4 grams of fiber about 6 grams of protein. Oatmeal is also rich in, magnesium, zinc, phosphorus, manganese, selenium and iron.

HOW TO PREPARE YOUR OATMEAL

*You can either prepare your oatmeal with water or any type of fat reduced milk ( I love to prepare mine with almond milk at the moment).

*You can prepare them the night before, just put them into water or milk and let them soak up the fluid over night and then warm then up in the morning

Ingredients for basic oatmeal:

(I use about) 60g oatmeal

200-250 ml milk

For the topping:

fruits (fresh, dried or frozen) I mainly use berries, ananas, apple, kiwi or banana

nuts

Stevia to sweeten ( I use liquid Stevia and put in about 10 drops)

Combine all ingredients and cook, uncovered, over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes. When it starts to bubble, stir occasionally. Add stevia and stir again. Put it in a bowl, add a topping of your choice and enjoy!

Banana Oatmeal :

60g oatmeal

200-250 ml water

For the topping:

fruits (fresh, dried or frozen) I mainly use berries, ananas, apple, kiwi or banana

nuts

Stevia to sweeten ( I use liquid Stevia and put in about 10 drops)

Chocolate Protein Oatmeal:

60g oatmeal

200-250 ml milk

1 table spoon highly de-oild cacao powder (you can find it in the ''Reformhaus'' in Austria I use the fairtrade one)

1 eggwhite

For the topping:

fruits (fresh, dried or frozen) I mainly use berries, ananas, apple, kiwi, figs or banana

a few nuts or pure coco nut flakes

Stevia to sweeten ( I use liquid Stevia and put in about 10 drops)

Whisk the egg white until stiff. Combine the milk and oats and cook, uncovered, over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes. When it starts to bubble, stir in the cacao powder (preferably with an eggbeater) and stir occasionally until creamy. Remove it from the heat and quickly stir in the egg white. Add stevia and stir again. Put it in a bowl, add a topping of your choice and enjoy!

Chocolate Oatmeal with Whey Protein:

60g oatmeal

100ml milk

150ml water

1scoop Chocolate Whey Protein (I use a Whey Protein Isolate)

For the topping:

fruits (fresh, dried or frozen) I mainly use berries, ananas, apple, kiwi, figs or banana

a few nuts or pure coco nut flakes

Stevia to sweeten ( I use liquid Stevia and put in about 10 drops)

Combine the milk, water and oats and cook, uncovered, over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes. When it starts to bubble. Remove it from the heat and quickly stir in the protein powder. Add stevia and stir again. Put it in a bowl, add a topping of your choice and enjoy!

Be creative, you can add any type of flavor for your oatmeal. For example, stir in pure vanilla flavor, cinnamon powder, chai tea (just cook your chai tea bag with your oats), add matcha tea powder.

So simple, yet so chic!

Sometimes a simply outfit can be so chic!

When it comes to effortless chic, my number one style icon is Emmanuelle Alt, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Paris, no one else looks hotter in skinny jeans, boyfriend shirts or pullovers and oversized jackets than her. Wow, this lady always looks so gorgeous without a lot of makeup in her fuss-free signature outfits.

Let's sum it up, all we need for this effortless Parisian look are skinny pants (leather or denim), heels, boyfriend / oversized tops and elegant and glam rock outerwear pieces.

I really love over-the-top extravagant fashion, but when it comes to the end of the day, there's nothing more stylish than simple, chic and high quality pieces.

Last weekend I wore such a Parisian Chic- inspired look. Well, I'm quite happy with the outcome and felt super stylish, but yet so comfy in this outfit.
