I'll be working my tail off tonight, tomorrow, and most of the day Friday. But as long as I get the items posted on Friday is over, all will be well.

My husband and his friends are hunters. One manages to bag a deer every time he goes hunting. That means we all have a lot of deer meat in the freezer. Now, I know a lot of people refer to deer as venison. We just call it "deer meat". I like the tenderloin and ground meat the best. But, you do have to think outside of the box to come up with different things. Last night, we experimented, and this will be a once a week thing. I suppose you could use deer, beef, turkey,bear, etc. Out of all of those, deer meat is better for you. No hormones, naturally grain (and garden) fed. Little to no fat content, so minimal shrinkage when you cook it, and it's full of protein.

The following is the casserole type dish we cooked last night:

2 boxes of Betty Crocker 3-cheese potatoes (or AuGratin, etc)
1 pound of ground deer meat
dehydrated chopped onions (50 cents at WM or a $$ store)
Milk
Butter or margarine

Cook the 2 boxes of potatoes according to directions (you will need milk and butter or margarine for the potatoes)
Brown the ground deer and add the dehydrated onions, salt, and pepper to your taste.
When the potatoes are just about done, remove the from the oven and stir in the ground meat. Put back in the over and bake until the top starts to brown. Remove from oven and let sit for 20-30 minutes.

Serve with glazed carrots, a salad, and your choice of bread.

I was surprised that the casserole turned out as well as it did. You can reheat the leftovers, if you have any. We didn't.

3 Days Left

There are 3 days left until my second 100 things are revealed. I'm really excited about this batch because there will be several different things, all made the same.

My daughter, Alexis, is going to start making her blue jean purses again. I don't think she'll be making 100 of them, but you never know. If so, I can almost guarantee it will take longer than 10 days. Her boyfriend says he'll help. I can't wait to get pictures of him sewing! Or, maybe we'll let him do some Bedazzling and glitter stuff!

I am kind of sad this week. My son, Nick, is leaving for Navy Boot Camp this Monday. I am so proud of him for making the decision to join the military. He is going to be a medic and eventually, he'd like to be a surgeon. As proud as I am, I'm scared to death for him. I'm told that my feelings and fears are normal, and that most military parents feel the same way. I feel strange when I am referred to as a military mom. It never really hit me that I am just that. I'm sure that it will hit even harder when that plane leaves the ground.

We'll be moving to our temp house in two to three weeks. I'm not excited about having to move twice. But I am still itching to see what other things we'll find hiding in the basement that we had forgotten about!

The weather has been super nice for the last couple of days. Just warm enough to be outside and just cool enough to be comfortable out there.

I did get some orders, but knowing that I have this project keeps me from procrastinating. All orders are filled and shipped to their new homes.

I was called for jury duty this week, but thankfully, I don't have to attend. I've been rescheduled for the June session. I do want to do my civic duty, but I'm glad that it will be a few months. My 1000 things will be done way before that! I've been organizing, cutting, printing, and all of those things. I am going to start tonight putting things together. This project will take a little longer than the last one, but it's going to be so much fun! I'm all caught up on orders, so that will allow more time for this weeks 100 things. Of course, I do welcome orders, but love this project so much!

The weather has been super nice today and I've wanted to spend a little time outside playing with my heart beat AKA my grandson. Luckily, I can do a little bit of this project while I enjoy the sunshine and watching Ayden in his Johnny Jump Up.

Here he is after his first Twinkie:

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 259px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/__xwdTXvleVk/Sv8blwqgx4I/AAAAAAAAADY/qD5wMu20unY/s320/twinkie+face.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5404068413400205186" />

Done! With my first 100 things!

I am done with my first 100 things!! Didn't think I'd make it because so many other things came up this week. But that's what inspired the first items. Faith. Faith that everything always works out for the best, even if we don't see how.

Matthew 17:19-20 "Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, 'Why could we not cast it out?' He said to them, 'Because of your little faith. For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you."

A tiny mustard seed. Faith the size of something so small can do wonderful things.

ORDER YOUR MUSTARD SEED PENDANT HERE

Here's a few photos of my progress and the chaos that was (and still is).

I even found the time to make a few extra things, too.

I have now added these to my website. Listed the 100 and when they're gone, they're gone.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 276px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/__xwdTXvleVk/Sv2oMt-rGzI/AAAAAAAAAC4/9PkpvctrhPk/s320/chaos+2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5403660064368827186" />

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/__xwdTXvleVk/Sv2osOt1v1I/AAAAAAAAADA/kHI1VzYxVrs/s320/chaos+3.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5403660605732536146" />

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 239px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/__xwdTXvleVk/Sv2pDnDAS1I/AAAAAAAAADI/InWIBw277KI/s320/chaos+1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5403661007400749906" />

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 314px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/__xwdTXvleVk/Sv2pT2JmlRI/AAAAAAAAADQ/sNhzBZaGuds/s320/chaos+4.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5403661286332863762" />

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://1000in10.blogspot.com/2009/11/almost-done.html' title='Done! But, I've been very, very busy. We do have a prospect on a temporary place to live until our permanent place is ready. We'll know for sure on Monday. Until then, I'm keeping the faith that everything will fall into place. And I am, strangely enough, happy about the situation because it was my inspiration for my first 100 things. Even my family and friends are getting in on the idea of 1000 Things, giving suggestions and ideas to keep things going even after the 100 days is up. Just two more days until the first "big reveal"!!

Day 2: 1000 Things in 100 Days

Today is day two and I am making pretty good process. I've decided what the first item will be and have everything organized to create the item. I have a few orders, but not enough to make me panic. What does make me panic is the fact that we were just informed that the house we have lived in for the past 5 years has sold. That gives us 30 days to move. We weren't supposed to move until after Christmas. So, that puts a whole new spin on things. We'll be pushing it to find a place this time of year, and then the extra expense that comes with moving twice will be a real blast. That just makes me more determined to make this project work.

1000 Things in 100 Days!!

I am a chronic hoarder of all things crafty. My supplies have stockpiled over the last 10 years and they are outgrowing our house. I could destash them on Etsy, I suppose. But, I just can't find it in my heart to part with them in their current unused state. At one point, I had a plan for every last thing I've purchased. Now I just need to figure out what that is or what it could be.

So, I have a plan.

Using the things I have now, I plan to make 10 different items. And, I will make 100 of each of them. Hence the name, "1000 Things".

Sound simple??

To make things more interesting, I will use only what I have available to make the first set of 100 things. Sales from those will determine a budget for the next set, and so on. Also, take into consideration that I also paint and sell home decor items (retail and wholesale) on my website, Primitive Art Deco . I will spend 5 of each 10 days actually making the items. Then, the 100 items will be for sale for the remaining of the 5 days. For 100 days! I think I'll be pretty busy.

I could have just made the 1000 things and added them to several venues.Or, I could have slacked or given up. But, knowing that you all know about my goal will help to make me accountable. If others want to join me, let me know!

I will be revealing the first item on Friday, November 13!!!
