Catch Up - Baby Wakes Up

Netflix playing an episode of "Bones" in the background. The swoosh and fluff of the washer and dryer are echoing while my 10 year old dog sleeps on the girls blankets, cuddled up next to the couch while I sit with my lap top and become reacquainted with the life of blogging. My life has changed and soon my blog will change as well. I'm not too sure what changes those will be, but please enjoy catching up with me.

Instead of the lake waving and blowing it's cool March breeze outside my tiny condo window I hear birds chirping and kids playing outside. If you remember, I was debating buying a home. Well, my husband and I bought a home just as we found out we were pregnant with baby number three. Yes, a third little girl three months old is lying quietly in her crib taking her morning nap while my oldest is in preschool and my lovely second child is out with her daddy having a daddy-daughter day.

My life is busy and full of doctors appointments, dentist appointments, preschool, school events, cheer leading practice among much more. I enjoy every minute of it. Okay, seriously did you believe that? Okay, so the grass isn't always greener. I really enjoy everything, but I'm looking forward to spring break and trying to relax and spend some one on one time with my girlies. I miss being able to choose my Stay-at-home-mom day, but I'm happy to welcome all of the changes this year has brought.

Well, speaking of changes. My baby is calling me. I will try to commit to some kind of schedule for blogging bouncing around my exercise after the kids go to sleep. Thanks for reading!

Now tell me you had fun with this one? I hope you did. Now me, I'm sitting here in sweat pants, a t-shirt and no coffee. That's right. I need a coffee. I'm also thinking how lucky I am that my two girls are being very well behaved today as I have nothing planned. We even cuddled on the couch together this morning while watching Little Einsteins (while the rain poured down outside). I am however dreading the fact that I did not wash my dinner dishes and they are staring at me; waiting to get done. Anywho...Technology everyone. It's everywhere. On mountaintops and in the air and if you care to poke around you'll even find them underground. Okay, that was a little Dr. Suess for you this morning from this S.A.H.M. Happy Thursday! Hello all! So would you believe me if I woke up this morning thinking it was Wednesday and that I had time to get my post together. My daughter looked at me and said "Mom. What do we have planned for today?" I replied that it was Thursday and had an aha moment. I don't want my delayed aha to have any part in you missing out on the fun. Pet Beetle

Every time we go back down to the beach Lorelei finds her pet beetle. She definitely loves a good bug. She found the first one when Miss Hannah started yelping that something was stuck to her finger. Lorelei came to the rescue and carried the little guy everywhere with her. She made him a little home and searched for him each time she came back down to the beach.

Hannah is waiting for her dog Bones to come back with the stick. Both girls really enjoy throwing the stick and watching their dog swim in the lake as well as throwing rocks into the water.

Flowers for Mom

Thinking my husband had let Mother's Day scoot by he came back with a very large bouquet with a mix of flowers. Of course the girls wanted their share (and their petals ended up all over the floor in their room) and the flowers were quickly moved to the counter from the table (out of small fingers reach), but the beauty and the magnificent smell is more than worth hiding them on the counter. They are there and they are beautiful. Thank you honey!

Last week was all about desserts. Yum. I almost regretted the theme because I was not only having a hard time choosing, but I wanted to bake, make and eat all of them. Wonderful work everyone and great photography. I Take Pictures seems to always take my breath away with wonderful photography which I didn't get to feature this week. Also, Allison Hoffman's Photography's capture reminded me of when I was a kid and would sneak into the kitchen for a slice of delicious angel food cake. I really enjoyed all of your captures last week. I love how basic and calm this capture is. I know Becky said it wasn't her best photography, but I love how she pushed herself out of her comfort zone while her family goofed on her for taking the shot of a cupcake. Plus, the shot reminds me of cupcakes at our house. I love the homey, comfortable feel of this capture.

Dessert. Snacks. Deliciousness. Onto Theme Thursday with desserts. My husband bought a few frozen snacks and this little guy gets melted and ice cream tops the warmed brownie. It wasn't easy photographing and not munching, but it was yummy once I got that bite in.

Strong Willed Fingers and Toes

From head to toe. From fingers to toes, my little girls can be strong willed. Miss Hannah has been insisting on watching Elmo on my lap top as soon as it gets moved to the table while her sister Lorelei seems to be strong willed at any given moment. My girls are beautiful from head to toe and are very sensitive and thoughtful girls, but they sure didn't miss out on that stubborn gene.

Shutter Love: Strong

Hannah's computing fingers (the mouse is turned off, and backwards for that matter.) She is watching Elmo with a guest "Will I am."

Simplicity: Feet

Lorelei and her strong willed toes moved everything off of the bench (with her little sisters help) and made herself at home. She is also sporting a unique and beautiful outfit she chose for herself.

Simply Spring (at the beach)

A simple Spring day. It's not always perfect, but there is that beautiful day in between the rain that is very calm and beautiful. For my family it's not just yearning for hikes, s'mores, camping and other summer activities, but Spring bringing in the beach weather. We're not exactly in swim suits and jumping in the lake, but we are running and playing in the sand. We are throwing rocks in the lake and enjoying each others company.

Gone to the Beach

Hello all. Happy Monday. We went to the beach over the weekend with our kids and our Nikon D40. Why? Well, the kids are fun to hang around with and the Canon Rebel isn't exactly "allowed" down to the beach. Our Nikon was presumed to broken numerous times and the diagnosis was beach sand in the components. Today's share is one of mine and one of Matt's. I was running with the girls quite a bit so my captures looked like I was running with the children. First my shot and then my husbands (edited by me).

Lorelei's acorn is only one collected item hidden in a vase in her room. She still has quite a bit of things from summers and season past and we're both looking forward to nice weather to collect a few more items. (This shot, minus the watermark, is straight out of camera.)

I must admit I was not prepared today. I have my Theme Thursday post up, though so I was kind of prepared. Well, I have been thinking about how I have not been sharing projects that the girls and I have been working on. We still work on them, but I can't always get the camera in there because my hands are either busy or dirty. Today, I am sharing our bowls that we made. It was just flour and water with tissue paper. We wrapped the bottom of one of their favorite bowls with saran wrap (after spraying it with Pam) and I let them layer away. It took most of the day to dry (mostly because they really coated it). At the end of the day they did get to snack in their bowls, which they loved!

Smiles and Surprise

More of my girls. It's been raining and the one day we did get out for a long walk (with the girls actually walking aka mom carrying Hannah) I chose to not bring my camera. This being said you have captures from the weekend. May I add we walked a quarter of a mile down. Hiked down the sand dunes to the beach and hiked a quarter of a mile back. This is a lot while carrying an almost two year old. Okay, she walked some of the time, but wow. I digress. Here are my black and whites for today.

Hannah and Lorelei swinging on my old childhood swing set. Lorelei is clutching her new Rapunzel doll. "I know mom. They call it Tangled because her hair gets tangled." This being said after trying to comb through the dolls hair.

What's one more? The bubble shots have been such a crowd pleaser I thought I'd share one last "Wow" bubble capture. Okay, this one is in black and white so it's different. Are you tired of me yet?

In other news I have been getting ready for Theme Thursday. The theme is Signs! Have fun, get out there and capture a sign. Be creative if you wish. It would be fun to see all kinds of signs or even a creative take on "here's your sign." I hope you're having a wonderful week so far! See you tomorrow.

Tuesday: A Little of This, A Little of That

Easter egg decorating, cupcakes, baskets, Easter egg hunts oh my. We had a wonderful weekend. The weather was fairly decent (around 50-60 degrees) so we actually got to go outdoors and run around. It really was a wonderful time. Not only were the kids sleepy, but the mommies, the daddies and the Grandma and Grandpa's too! Please enjoy a few of my captures for today.

Hmmm....where might the next Easter egg be hiding. Hannah really can please a crowd. We all would stop and stare at her adorable gestures. She is just priceless.

Simplicity: Pets

Meet Bones. If you have yet to see or hear about our dog he really is a great guy. He is a rescued dog and we love him. We have had him for almost 10 years now and our girls enjoy dressing him in necklaces, hats, crowns, shoes (you name it) and telling him what to do. He is either following them around or hiding from them. You might also find him sneaking snacks from the kids.

I still like the original capture, but I wanted to lighten the shot up a bit because of the shadows on their faces. I think it brightened maybe a smidgen too much. What do you think?

Sweet Shot

This shot is from late last week and I just love how Lorelei is genuinely happy. Her hair is a mess because we have been playing and running in the yard and she is simply happy. I usually capture the "cheese" smile from Miss Lorelei.

A Beautiful, Mellow, Macro, Rewind Kind of Monday

The end of last week was a lot of fun. One big reason for great attitudes was that the mid to late April snow melted. Yes, we did get snow in April. A few times. This day was beautiful and fairly sunny and we got out and enjoyed it. Please enjoy my photos.

Hannah loves to swing. She especially enjoys the swing at her grandparents house. This little yellow swing fits her just perfectly and is low enough to the ground for her to scoot up on and everything.

I borrowed Lorelei's flowers for a moment. She was cleaning up the yard with her Grandma when she found these flowers and picked them. She loves to pick flowers.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday: 4/24

Bubbles, family time, getting outside after a long winter and cold spring is definitely time well spent time. We went to the mall and saw the Easter Bunny. Poor Miss Hannah didn't want to go near him but loved him from afar. Lorelei decided after the second go around that she would indeed take a distant photo with the Easter Bunny. We also went to our families house to play outside and spend time together. Most of these captures were taken on that day. Please enjoy my collection.

Reflections

The girls were given bubble guns. They had a blast and so did I. I was hoping to get a good reflection in the bubbles and it wasn't easy, but in the end you can see quite a bit in this bubble.
