When a little drop of water I will be

I will hang on to a ray

and climb it up onto a cloud

and travel here and travel there..

I will find you there, of this I am sure

going about your day as you do

and I will follow you and hear you

curse for it to rain

I will wait until you cry aloud

irritated that you need it to pour

and then I would tease some more

send you a breeze, maybe a clap of thunder

and when you stop to care,

I will follow you and see you go

about your day as you do

And then, I will drop with the rain

on your windshield or your head

And maybe follow you home

and hear about your day

and off I will go again

for another one of those adventures

that will bring me to you again

swinging by the rays, flowing with the clouds....

I have a racing heart

And am anxious too

I am trying to focus

I remember weakened will

I hum this tune, all day all the time

I cannot get it out of my head

It has been there forever

And overwhelms me at unexpected times

With it comes nostalgia

As if they go together

And then I cannot get either out

Until they choose to themselves

It is such a pleasant tune

It must’ve been really special

Peaceful like meditation

Fresh like the dew

Dizzy after turning in circles

like the clean breeze in the face.

Its probably the memory

Of some special moment

What it was, what it is

I seem to be missing by a little bit.

I smell happy thoughts that bring me joy,

When I hum this tune, all day, all the time.

When sometimes early in the morning
I wake up but am not awake yet
I hear the birds chirping outside
and imagine the cooker's whistle going off
and I transport to a different time
And it smells like home around.

I make myself breakfast
and get ready for work
but I cant get my mind off
the thoughts of happy home.
Sometimes I forget while
I sip on my morning coffee
That I am not at home
and that it is far away.

And I revel in the trance
that I am home and it is wonderful

Every time I look out the window

My heart makes up words

To explain what I see

And seldom are they really enough

We have flurries today

Oh what a beautiful sight

White cotton balls floating

I wish there were other words to describe.

I love dull & gloomy days

Is that really so bad

I like them sunny too

And whatever way they come.

When it is cloudy,

Soon there will be rain…

And oh I so love the water

And the smell of wet terrain

Or it may snow

Or we could have flurries

And everything looks real nice

Like a happy picture post card.

I breathe fresh air, with lingering smells
of last night's rain and the morning fumes.
I hear crickets and the sound of tires
and that of the planes flying overhead..

Behind the curtain of very tall trees,
I see parts of the houses in the lane behind.
Like the ticking clock in my living room
everything seems to be working on time..

Like a machine my world goes on.
And time passes by and life goes on.

Do something that is innocent and honest

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

On days like today,
I dont know my mood..
Like the moving clouds,
my mood tends to move.

I am not inspired
I am not excited
Too much is normal
too much to think
too much routine
Its such a stink.

Well, to be honest
its not really bad
Its just that I need
a change, just a tad
To find something
that is exciting
Something unfinished
that will do too....

Oh I dont know what to do
I dont like this mood
I dont like the weather today
Its a little too blue
One minute it rains

There is thunder and lightning

I woke up with a start
I dint know why
Something was different,
but what?

Drenched in sweat
I tried to listen
All I heard was
my pounding heart!

Shadows on my wall,
Dancing all they can
shouldnt there be one
for every one light?

It was dark outside,
Or was it twilight?
It was early in the morning,
It was barely 4.
why would I wake up?
what for?

I heard it then,
it wasnt very subtle
Loud and Flashing,
the thunder storm...
I remembered then
there had been a warning..
The hail on the panes
And the wailing wind
The sound of water
hitting everything

A nightmare, a dream...
This is what I woke up to
like I had heard a scream.

I havent seen the sun
oh its been so long
I look out the window
and wait for the dawn

Its not bad, this weather around
but where is my beloved sun?
I like the breeze, the smell of rain
I like the drops of water splashing
I love the way there is always a rainbow
but I miss the sun and the warmth

The moon hasn't come either, to accompany me
the stars have deserted me too..
I blame it all on the missing sun...
I blame him for my mood.

Where is the sun, its been too long
It was never like this before..
Even when it was cold and white
when the snow hid the ground,
even when it was hard to walk
without lots of layers,
The sun was out with glorious charm
and threw little sparkles of light.

I want my sun, and the warmth that comes
when it is bright and not so gloomy!!
I want it right now and I know i cant
have it as I please just so easy.

I am trying I swear, I have changed color,
and also the page...
But I cannot get, more than words few,
out of my head .

Am I trying too hard?
or has it been too long?
my moods are not bad,
in my head, there's my song!
I love the weather,
the snow is gone though,
warm it seems around
a walking I can go...

But I wonder what the matter is,
I cant come up with anything,
for weeks so long I have been
trying to, but not writing.

I know there will be a flood
after a little time
To block, I may try,
but I cant, this heart of mine.

For now, I am going to wait
and please bear with me.
for I write for my mind
and my heart within.
And both of them seem to be
waiting for a sign
to tell them its time, let go
a rushing they will come and rhyme...

Sheets of white..
to my eyes delight..
cotton that floats..
that brightens the night..

As I mark my way..
on this canvas of snow..
I think its metaphoric..
for everyone's now..

Sometimes my car..
skids like a state..
and sometimes it zooms..
like in a race..

But the breathtaking view..
has my spirits high and up..
Enjoy it while its here..
before you know, it will stop..

Snowmen and sleds..
little kids in sweaters..
walks in the plaza ..
at the window, writing letters..
At the coffee shop..
making excuses to stay..
to watch the snow..
falling in the day..

Being late for everything..
and blaming it on the weather..
Drying clothes and shoes,
I dont know why I did bother.
Listening to blues..
and dimming the lights..
imagining it is another..
one of the fairy tale nights...

I think its cheerful..
to see the bright night,
and imagine its full..
of miracles out of sight.

I stared at the screen.
I had no clue.
what was I looking for,
I dint know. Its true!!

It was monday morning
and I was so delighted
to get to work, to dress up
I was so excited...

With new songs in the Ipod
a spring in my step
when the alarm went off,
out of bed, I had leapt...

I wanted to get to work
and start with this zeal
Who would have thought
this is how fate would deal...

Colors on my wall

On the walls in my home
there are splashes of color
like little drops of water
on dry desert land

The rest of the walls
are all plain and fair
with black frames
and dark wall decor

When I first got them
I thought they were good
like there was clarity
in my day, in my mood

But now they lay heavy
on my mind when I see
they make me think of all
the possibilities they could be..

I tried to give them away
but I cant take them down
every time I try, I put them all back,
each and every one...

I really like the colors
that are bright and gay....
Maybe I will put the others away,
not today but some other day.

Not a new life

not a new day...

it is just a day

that followed yesterday

And somehow I think

Of new beginnings

and of new horizons,

resolutions and goals

Everything was alright

but somehow I feel lighter

like some heavy cloud has passed,

and the day has gotten brighter

Oh but it has been snowing

and has not snowed harder

Though I enjoy it as much

I am wishing for it to get warmer.

It is just another day

but I like to pretend

That this is a fresh start,

Maybe it is music, maybe it is just me,
maybe to look at things, another way,
whatever it is, it is true..
I hear music in everything today.

Humming birds, humming tunes,
thats music we all think too..
the computer's cooling fan,
the condenser stuttering,
it is funny it seems like
everything is singing
Crisp leaves under my foot,
the rock song on the speaker
the rhythm of dry trees
when the breeze nudges them,
the drizzling water,
the splashing puddles
even the sound of the locking cars...

Maybe it has something to do
with my latest ear phones
maybe they were jinxed
to make the wearer music, hear..

Is something wrong with my ears
or twisted is my mind..
it all seems like a design,
like everything follows a composition..

I guess it is music after all...
Oh well, I hear music in fall :)

Flowers, Colors and the rain...

In the balcony I have

plants in several ceramic pots,

plants that stay green

and those that flower lots...

Religiously I would everyday

check on their well being,

direct the ivy to go up railings

take out dry leaves and weeds...

I would water them and clean up the area

and talk to them happy thoughts

I wonder if they listened...

I have petunias that are

white, lavender, pink and purple

Little red flowers that grow in bunches

and tiny little yellow roses...

I also have onions and jalapenos

and sprouts of pulses planted..

you know, parsley and corriander

and a little ginger too...

But they wouldnt bloom...they wouldnt grow

They would look fine but there was no color

and the ivy wouldn't climb up the string

the petunias would be green but not one flower....

And then it rained.

And then came the rain, oh just too heavy
The days were dull, and evenings so dark..
Windy and cold, all the while cloudy
it wouldn't stop and would pour and pour....
it would ruin your clothes if you stepped out
and made the days and the mood so sour...

And then I looked out, at 10 one morning,
it was still twilight, that suddenly grew bright....

There was now color,

color in the balcony

there are petunias of all colors

the ivy is long and up the railing

the yellow roses so many

have covered the little rose pot

and the red bunches of stars

look like they are smiling...

Also the onions have broken
and new green leaves have sprouted
the spices look good
and there is a jalapeño plant bush...

The rain doesn't seem so bad now
when I sit amidst the colors
and think about how there is a rainbow
after all of the heart's worries

Did time pass by like it does all the time?

I think it did a double speed this year...

Only yesterday was I happy about fall

and here it is again in its splendor all

cool breeze in warm sunshine

days to read books outside

such a relief after the summer hot

how about a walk tonight?
