What Are Twitter Limits?

Business twitter account holders need to bear several limits in mind when posting Tweets. Although a Twitter account can post up to 1,000 Twetts per Day, There are other limits to bear in mind before deciding to use all 1,000 Tweets in one day. First let’s look at all the Twitter limits:

Twitter maximum Tweets per day 1,000
Maximum 3rd Party Tweets –automated – 150 per hour Signed in 350

Target Audience Limits

Your target audience can also limit the number of Tweets you post in several ways.

Location of target audience. Are you trying to reach local or global?
Sleep pattern of target audience. When is your audience awake?
Twitter usage pattern of target audience. Will your tweets be seen?
Tweet type acceptance of target audience. Will your tweets interest or repel your audience?

Tweet Type Limits

Finally, the number of tweets you post can also be limited by the type of tweets you post. For example, only posting tweets blasting ads, can lose your target audience faster than anything else.Twitter is first and foremost about conversation. Try to engage at least 1 person each day in an exchange. In addition to a volley, there are many types of general tweets. It is important to utilize a variety of Tweets within a time period,or you may find your account labelled as spam,or rapidly lose followers. John Welsh of United Business Media writes about 7 types of Tweets. Here are 10 Tweet types that I use:

Information Tweet Sharing knowledge is a main reason people follow you. A Tweet with a link from someone you trust and respect, is a great way to have a really important post brought to your attention quickly. Comments and links to others’ writing are especially welcome.
Wise Tweet - A phrase of wisdom that informs your community without a link to an article, picture or video – best done by experts in a field
Introduction Tweet – Introducing new accounts to your community with a brief bio,are more effective #follow recommendations.
ReTweet – See a great tweet? Share it by posting RT at the front or posting quotes around it MT means you modified it slightly.
Status Tweet –Justin Bieber effectively tweeted his calendar to rise to fame. If you post regularly,be sure to let people know if you will be offline for awhile.
Question Tweet - Feel free to ask questions, but don’t count on getting many replies.
Blog post Tweet – Links to your blog posts can be overdone unless mixed with a variety of tweets, and are best couched with a phrase.
Connection Tweets – After an introduction Tweet, referring people to connect with can be helpful.
Paper.li – Effective paper.li with a descriptive title and topic specific connections are often welcomed. Generic paper/li of all your followers tweets? Tiresome.
Four Square Tips – Tweeting about Four Square check-ins? Add your own flair to make these tweets more palatable.

What Not to Tweet

If you would not read it, don’t Tweet it! Ask yourself:

Is your food intake really that interesting? If it is shocking, exotic,or tantalizing – that’s much different Only celebs get their cornflakes retweeted.
Do you find foul language fascinating?
Do you enjoy reading product lists? Try witty benefit statements that engage an audience.

So how many tweets can you make per day is much more than a simple number.Perhaps the real question is:

How many tweets per day will your market bear?

iPad APPS: Twitter For iPad Frustrations?
Twitter for iPad Troubleshooting

As you may, or may not know, I've been working from an iPad these last few months discovering its capabilities & inabilities. I regularly update numerous social media sites, one of which is Twitter. Unfortunately Twitter for iPad has some problems that are increasing search engine queries for Twitter for Desktop. Hmmmmm... makes you wonder...
Problems with Twitter for iPad include:
• Twitter for iPad does not support list creation
• Twitter for iPad does not offer Password Recovery
It would be simple for Twitter to place a link on the Twitter for iPad APP that would take people to Twitter for Desktop is it there? NO!
After endless searching through help forums, Google searches, and using other search engines, I discovered Sean, another blogger had also searched endlessly for the answer. Sean had tried the following searches with no sucess:

iPad switch Twitter mobile desktop – Nope.

iPad change Twitter desktop view – Nope.

iPad Safari switch Twitter view – Nope.

iPad switch between standard and mobile Twitter – Nope.

iPad change view Twitter standard mobile – Nope.

iPad change from Twitter mobile to desktop – Nope

Luckily for me,and you, Sean finally found the link by using Firefox on another computer.
Here is the magic link from Sean for everyone stuck with mobile Twitter :
Mobile.twitter.com/settings/change _ui
Thanks Sean!

Hope this helped!

Now it's your turn-What are your Twitter For iPad thoughts? Love it? Being a multi-tasking timesaver, I was pleased to run across this tip from Michael Babcock in one of my circles. This tip can save you time, and perhaps eventually help you build better search rankings, and customer confidence.

Want to Share Your G+ post elsewhere? Here's How!
Adapted from a posting by Michael Babcock on G+
Google+ can do long public tweets, you can share even outside your Google+ circles.
When making a post you want to share elsewhere, post it to 'public' on Google+, Then. click the downward arrow in the top-right of the posted item, and choose 'Link to this post'. This will take you to a new URL for that post alone. Sharing that link with people on Twitter or Facebook will let anyone see the full original post, even if they're not yet a Google+ member.
Michael also suggests using a tool such as http://goo.gl to shorten the address. Link shorteners, can also give you statistics to lrt you know how many people are clicking your link,as well. Another popular link shortener I use that gives stats is bit.ly. Each shortener has its own PMI.
Michael adds: The same system applies to linking to others' public posts, as well. This is also a great way to slowly encourage people not yet using Google+ to see its value, and join in the conversation on Google+1
How will the ability to upload pictures directly into the Twitter stream affect your Tweets? For me.this new introduction has been a pain, because I am getting constant invitations to share a photo from Twitter, each time I go to my mentions category. I went in search of an answer in the FAQ,which gives some background info on their new 'option'.

Want to know how to Upload Pics directly to Twitter? Here are some of the FAQ adapted from Twitter:

How to Upload Pictures Directly to Twitter

Uploading and sharing images on Twitter.com is easy! Below you’ll find a brief how-to and some answers to common questions about uploading images on Twitter - right from your Tweet box!
Where do I upload my image?
When you click inside the Tweet box on your homepage or on the New Tweet button, you will see two small icons in the lower left hand corner, one for adding your location (a compass), and one for uploading an image (a camera).
How large can my image be?
You can upload any image 3MB or smaller.
They’ll scale the image for you to fit into the display pane on the right side of your Twitter.com timeline.
What do I do after I hit the “Upload image” camera icon?
When you clicking the camera icon to upload an image, you will be prompted to locate the image you want to upload on your computer.
After attaching the image to your Tweet, you’ll see the character count to the left of the Tweet button update. Note: links to images take up some characters, but a picture's worth a thousand words right?
If you selected the wrong image, or change your mind about sharing an image, just click the 'x' control in the thumbnail, or next to the filename to delete the current image.
Then, simply type your tweet and hit the Tweet button.
After your Tweet has been sent, click the Tweet to view the image in the display pane. Note: In some browsers, may only show the file name instead of the thumbnail:
What does 'powered by Photobucket' mean?
Your images are stored Photobucket, down the road Twitter is planning to offer other hosting options.
Will Twitter continue to support Flickr, Twitpic, yFrog etc?
Yes. You’ll be able to view images hosted on most 3rd party images providers indefinitely.-Now this answer puzzled me- most - Which 3rd Party Apps will not be seen?
What’s the deal with protected accounts?
Protected accounts will work the same way with images as they do with text Tweets: you won’t be able to see images from protected accounts unless you’re following the account.
Can you comment on an image?
Yes, just reply to the Tweet containing the image.
How do I delete an image?
You can delete an image by deleting the Tweet containing this image. Once a Tweet is deleted, the image will be be made unavailable. It may still be cached in some browsers and servers, but the image will no longer be available from Twitter.
Will Twitter have galleries of my images?
Not at first. But in the coming weeks, we’ll add user media galleries, which will let you see the images a user has shared on Twitter. The user galleries will include images a user has shared on Twitter, including those uploaded via other services, such as Twitpic, yfrog, and Instagram.
Will all images appear in search?
Unless you have a protected account, there is always a chance that your image will appear in search results. If you have a protected account, your images should never show up in search results. If you change my account to 'protected,' images previously shared by you when your account was public non-followers will receive an error page.Your images will still be viewable by your followers.

The one question I have remains unanswered - How can we prevent eyespam?
Eyespam? Yes from those pesky Tweeters who are so certain that you are dying to view their nether regions. Perhaps this is a job for Proxlet! Will you be uploading more photos into your Twitter Stream with this new innovation?

Oh,yes those pesky invitations finally stopped, after sending a screen shot to Twitter. Not sure if it was the message, the use of their App,or simply the end of the loop. I'm just glad it's over, and I can get back to my regular Tweets. How is this new innovation affecting you? Love it? Hate it? Have some tips to share?
Follow Friday is a way of recommending certain people as worthy of following, but how do you decide whom to recommend or follow? What is the best way of recommending someone? What do yo need to watch for when you are using this handy tool?

Why Do You Recommend A Twitter User?
To me,the most useful recommendations tell something about the person, or list you are recommending to the rest of your Twitter Followers. My preferred method of recommending a Twitter User, is to either Retweet (repeat) something a new follower has written, or mention a piece of their work along with a link to their work. Lately, however, my followers are increasing exponentially. This makes it tricky to keep up.

Why Use FollowFriday Helper?
FollowFriday Helper is a great tool, to help you make sure you don’t miss thanking someone who interested with you on Twitter.FollowFriday helper will look at your account and make recommendations about which accounts to thank. Giving the reason-“they mentioned you” or “they retweeted one of your messages”. With Follow Friday Helper, you can automatically tag a recommendation with any day of the week, or a variety of other tags, such as #Thanks. There are two different ways of using Follow Friday Helper: creating Multiple #FF (aka a list), or creating personal #FollowFridays.
Multiple #FollowFridays and #Thanks If you're in a hurry, but want to make sure your tweeps know that you're there and you care, #FollowFriday's multi-user tweet builder works great! Unfortunately, since it is a ‘bot it can’t tell the difference between a conversation, and a spam mention Since the increasing popularity of using tools like Follow Friday Helper, there are more and more of there spammy messengers being unwittingly recommended. It is for this reason, I am nore likley to retweet,or follow a Personal #FollowFriday recommendation.

Personal #FollowFriday Recommendations
Personal #FollowFriday, recommendations give an indication of why an individual, or even a group of individuals, should be followed. While everyone has their personal favourites to recommend, I have several categories of people whom I recommend using personal #FollowFridays.
Super Followers -
Whom would you class as a super follower? While I appreciate each and every one of my followers, I like to give an extra special tip of the hat to followers who make a difference in my online interactions.
Off Stream Followers The top people, I recommend, are those people, who are following my work both on and off the Twitter Stream through networked blogs, Google Friend Finder, and so on. I especially appreciate, those people who have read an article, commented, and shared it on Twitter. Acknowledging these types of followers not only is polite, it can encourage other Twitter users to follow suit.If the person is not on Twitter, a nice note of Thanks is to give them a shout out, then send them a link to the Tweet you created.
News Spreaders These are the people who Retweet your messages, and potentially bring you more readers and followers. You’ll find people mentioning these as “Thanks for the RTs”
Chatters Chatting with friends is why Twitter was really created.People who carry on a conversation with you by mentioning your Twitter name with @ in front can show others there is a person behind the tweets, and your account is not just another unmanned ‘bot Note: there are bots out there who are Retweeting my messages-I appreciate my Tweets being spread by these accounts too.You might write”#FF shout to Thanks for chatting”
Listers Did someone place you on a list that has some meaning to it? Being on a list can help bring you more followers as well. Be sure to thank them-Note I don’t expect to be thanked by the accounts I place on my “do not follow list”-that’s another story.
People Who Follow You It is especially nice when people follow you without you having followed them first. Those who follow you back, are also very special.Thereaaaaaare few accounts I do not follow back,This can created a deluge of Direct messages, however, and make it difficult to know when an account is sending you an important Direct message.Since I get so many spaw DM’s I ask my followers to give me a heads up and mention they are sending me a DM

Summary:
FollowFriday Helper allows you to quickly see which Twitter users have 'retweeted' your messages, or sent a message to you. However, since it is 'bot' based you will want to exercise a modicum of judgement, or you may find yourself recommending accounts which have simply sent you a spammy Tweet. If you receive a Personal recommendation,it is screen shot worthy. You may want to take a picture of it and create a scrapbook. This week, I think I’ll start a Wall of fame in appreciation of my followers. How do you show your appreciation?
At the same time, I’m getting a little tired of tagging after some of these accounts that want to send me spammy DM messages, and don’t even have the courtesy to follow me back.
Tweet Spinner Features List
Here are the features available in Tweet Spinner:

Find/Follow filters

Schedule tweets/etc

Smart purges

Followbacks

Find followers by keyword

Find followers by mimic

Prune spammers

Faster schedules

Rules-based DMs

Customize filters

Location filters

Smart immunization

Import blocked users

View purged/added

Schedule follows/purges

DM de-spam & archiving

Custom app tweeting

I just signed up for the basic free membership, which includes the first five features for one Twitter account, but I’m tempted to take one of the higher editions for a free spin, since I have multiple Twitter accounts, and would like to create some rules based DM’s. I wonder if the rules include sending an automessage to people who send you spammy DM messages with affiliate links.

The advanced edition for $15 a month includes 2 Twitter accounts and all the features. Then the memberships go up from there, allowing users to have 5 ($21/month) or up to 50 Twitter accounts (latter for Social Media companies only). The editions with more accounts also include faster scheduling of the automating process.
Take Tweet Spinner for a spin and tell me what you think of it.

Note:If you use the link in my post, to sign up for a Paid membership, I may be able to eventually buy a pro membership too! (Basic members make 25% per referral, and Pro members make 40% per referral. Hmm.. if I signed up for a pro edition, 5 new subscribers per month could pay for the pro edition, and give me a little extra too. There’s something to think about! )
Here’s my referral link:
Thanks for using it!
