Hello everyone, it’s June! Today I’m back with a very special project where I completely changed the way I think about the dies I own. I used the Sweet Note dies and turned them into little vinyl sleeves, but still keeping the note card element. Let’s get started!

The idea goes like this: the sleeve opens and there’s a removable vinyl inside, revealing a sentiment stating there’s a note somewhere to be found, and when the recipient turns around their vinyl, they’ll see a handwritten note on the back. Like I said, I changed the purpose of my dies completely to make this design, and I challenge you to look at your die collection the same way. You might just come across a fantastic idea for a next project!!

I started by cutting the Sweet Note die from orange and hot pink cardstock. I wanted it to be a matching set that switches around the colors. I wanted a square panel to go in the front of the note, and decided on using the Notched Squares that were the perfect size, but also revealed the base color of my sleeves in the corners, making for a nice detail. I used the Line Bursts stencil to make both an orange and a pink background. A little alteration I made to the Sweet Note die is that I glued the square panel to the front, so I have to tuck away the flap on the inside instead. Just make sure to not glue down the notch that holds the flap! Using the square on the front meant that I had it sticking out a bit, making it visible on the inside, so I covered it using one of the Doily Borders as a decorative trim.

To decorate the front, I used the flower part of the Daffodil Shaker twice, once in a bright and once in a pastel shade, and added the centers. Of course I had to use the Just a Note stamp set throughout my project, both for the music AND the note theme. It’s a perfect match!

Now for the vinyl, the negative space from the Holiday Wreath Builder makes a perfectly sized vinyl. I used the wheels from the Big Dump Truck for the inside ring, but also cut some of the smaller daffodils from the Spring Floral die set and used them in the same way as the ones on the front. I used a small sized hole punch as I was layering these pieces, but didn’t punch through the base of the vinyl so I could have a solid note card. On the back, I glued down one of the Eyelet Circles so I could have a blank space to write on.

Now for the fun part: the interactive element! I cut an extra square panel to go on the inside of the sleeve and used the gift card notches from the Interactive Cake die set to hold the vinyl in place. But how did I do that? Well, I just positioned 2 of the notches on the bottom of the square and partially die cut it. The spacing works perfectly to hold the vinyl in place! I added the ‘just a little note’ sentiment from Just a Note in the middle, keeping it hidden until the vinyl gets taken out.

And that’s the full project! My brain doesn’t always allow it, but when I feel creative enough I love thinking out of the box like this. Not only does it stretch your current die collection, but it also might justify the purchase of a die set you really really want, knowing you can get more use out of it if you use the parts in another way than intended. And as crafters, we do love a good way to justify purchases, right?

I hope this post inspired you in some way, and I hope to see you again soon.

I started with a black card panel of 5 ½ x 4 ¼ inches. Then I grabbed the Scattered Bats stencil and used my white pigment ink to create a spooky background panel. I also splattered some white acrylic paint over it. I set this aside to dry while working on die-cutting my pieces.

I used the new Halloween Mugs die set and decided on a bright green Frankenstein mug. While also using purple and grey. I added the color orange for some of my other die cuts. Because I felt it would work really well with the bright green and purple. From older sets I used Halloween Holder Additions, Candy Treats, and the Halloween Cake Pops die set.

After I added shading with my inks to all my die cuts, it was time to think about my sentiment. I used the new Halloween Banner Greetings stamp set and heat embossed the sentiment in white onto black cardstock. Then I grabbed the Banner Greetings 4 die to cut it out.

I used liquid glue and some foam tape to assemble all of my die cuts. I love having the mug and cake pops a bit higher on the card so they get the attention they deserve.

Hi friends, Carly here. I love dies and solid stamps but outline stamps have such a special place in my heart! They are so fun to create with, so versatile and they are absolutely what caused me to fall in love with cardmaking! Today I want to share four of my favorite, fail proof card designs for outline stamps!

The first one is clean and simple! Stamp an image and sentiment(s) on a white card, leaving lots of white space. I like to place a the image in a few different positions on the card…front & center, bottom right corner and in a vertical strip on either side like the Jack ‘O Lantern treat bucket card.

The second design is to create a fun background by stamping the images all over a card front and then adding a die cut sentiment in the middle like the purple stamped background & orange “trick or treat” card.

The third design is what I like to call a “scene strip”! I like to mask a section of the card and ink blend (or a strip of colored cardstock works too). Then I stamp images that create a scene or background. After I add a stamped, die cut and colored image and a sentiment stamp.

Halloween Treat Buckets Stamps
Halloween Treat Buckets Dies
Boo Greetings Stamps
Trick or Treat Shadow Dies
Mini Ghosts Stamps
Mini Ghosts Dies
Stitched Windows 1 Dies (or Stitched Arches Dies)

And the last one that makes me tremendously happy is using stamped, colored and die cut images as shaker bits! They are so fun mixed with super chunky glitter, sequins or clay confetti!

I hope you are inspired to try this technique!
The post 4 Creative Ways to Use Outline Stamps first appeared on Pretty Pink Posh.

Once I saw the darling Layered Teacup Stencils, I knew I had to create something immediately! They are so endearing and create a colorful background fit for a teapot and kettle. I cut my white cardstock base using the Stitched Torn Rectangles die and then added my stenciling over the top.

I then used the Shadow Box dies and selected the inner scalloped window and rectangle to create the center focal point. I used plenty of foam adhesive to pop this up and off my card base.

Lastly, I paper-pieced my teapot and added color with Copic Markers to bring each image to life. These irresistible images are from the Tea Time stamp set and coordinating dies. The sentiment seemed perfect to share with a cherished friend.

Pull out your Pretty Pink Posh supplies and treat yourself to an afternoon of crating! Thanks for visiting.
