MEMORY:

Memory is an area of a computer that store data and instructions to be accessed by processor as well as

the results of processing . It consists of one or more chips on motherboard in the computer.

STURUCTURE OF MAIN MEMORY:

The main memory of the computer consists of thousands or millions of cells of storage locations . Each

cell can store a bit. One bit can represent 0 or 1. BIT stands for binary digit . The memory cells are

logically organized into groups of 8 bits known as byte

Memory cells organized as byte:

Each byte in the memory has a unique number assigned to it. The number is known as the address of

that byte . The scheme of arranging the cells into a byte and bytes into memory chip that is shown .

The number shows the byte number assigned to a byte. It is also known as adress of the byte.

1- RAM stands for RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY . It is also called DIRECT ACCESS MEMORY.

Random access means that each individual byte in entire memory can be accessed directly . Ram is used to store data and instructions temporarily . A program must be loaded into RAM before execution.

There are five generations of computer which are following:

1ST GENERATION:

ECKERT and MAUCHLY developed the first electronic computer in ENIAC in 1946 in USA.
Vacume tube is the core element of 1st generation.
The time period of 1st generation of computer was from 1946 to 1959.
Consumes lot of electricity.
It is not portable.

2ND GENERATION:

The second generation of computer are IBM 700 ATLAC and ICL 1901
Transistor was the core element of 2nd generation

Required less power to operate.
Smaller reliable and faster than 1st generation of computer.

3RD GENERATION:

The 3rd generation of computer are IBM 360 NCR 395 TDC developed by JACK KILBY.

NOTE:

The use of win key is not only for open the window infact it can be used as a shortcut key with the combination of other keys and make our work intresting and enjoyable. Following are some uses of this key.

1- WIN+NMBR EYS:

For open any software in the taskbar in the given sequence except double click on the software for open it .

2- WIN+ARROW KEYS:

For minimize maximize down left right by using the arrow keys with the WIN key except using the minimize maximize button.

3- WIN+A:

For go to the short manu in the right side of dektop where all useful settings are given and you can use them except go to the setting and find the options .

4- WIN+D:

For minimize all the windows which were open and again close them by use of this except close the windows one by one.

5-WIN+E:

For directly go to the file explorer.

6- WIN+TAB:

For check how many tabs are open in the curent time and you can see them in a single frame also switch in another program.

7-WIN+P:

For switch operating mode if we want to connect our laptop to projector or to any source this key will be used.

8-WIN+R:

For open the run mode directly.

9-WIN+ (+):

For magnifier the desktop according to your choice.

10-WIN+X:

For open an window where many option are given and u can use them directly.

11-WIN+L:

For lock the window screen and your work will remain same and u can unlock it in free time.

SOME REMANING KEYS OF KEYBOARD:

1- HOME KEY:

For go to the start of any web page except of scroll bar if you are reading any article on any website.

2- END KEY :

Opposite of the home key for go to end of any web page if you are reading any article on any website.

3- PAGE UP (pg up) :

For move one page to the previous page in any website during your work.

4- PAGE DOWN(pg dn):

For move one page to the next page in any website during your work.

5- INSERT:

For overwrite a text and remove previous text in the MS WORD if the insert key is on otherwise it cannnot overwrite the text.

6- NUM LOCK:

For use the nmbers on the keyboard if the num lock is on otherrwise if it is off the remamning functions work on the given keys.

For close any window in any website or exit/ cancel.

I found super useful is just how to use search engines in a more advanced way now most of us go to Google or whichever search engine we use and just type in a search and that's it and hope for the best now the search engines give us results and you know usually you get about ten of those on a page but that's ten results out of millions of potential
results that are possible out there so when you really want something specific you need to tell the search engines that you want something exact I mean they're doing a pretty good job these days at guessing but there are ways to modify your search so that you can of course make sure that the search engines are giving you exactly what you want .

Backing up has never been easier to like backup our stuff but it still becomes a challenge sometimes depending on what you're using and what you're trying to backup it may cost a lot of money or there's just so many options that you don't know what to choose so learning how to backup your stuff is extremely important whether you're doing it for your own things or maybe you're working for a company or doing work for a company you want to make sure that everything is backed up this is a basic
